Crate Paper just posted a new entry to their blog and... it's not the winter collection reveal. It's about mini albums. Either they've planned to post two blog entries for today (which I doubt) or we're in to wait even longer. If you'd like to remind them that we're waiting, don't hesitate to go let them know in the comments of their latest IG post.

The KP release has some cute things for sure. I'll likely buy digitals as the colors don't do much for me. Must have the butter stack. Her shipping flat out sucks though. I ordered from the last release on the 28th and still don't have my items.

Does KP offer her kits in digital?? I can see a few elements I could use, but only as digital elements.

Here's the design work that seems to have heavily influenced the Spread Joy collection - blogs.nordstrom.com/fashion/sanna-annukka-interview/Depending on whether Nordstrom has a new design this year or carries over their designs for one more year you might want to pick up some ephemera at their store after Thanksgiving like I do. A shopping bag, a gift box belly band, a gift card holder or three... I cut their marketing stuff up too. I used a side of their shopping bag to cover my TN album a couple of years ago and it's fabulous. I might have another couple stashed...

The December Details is the one I'd be interested in.... I've never bought any kits from KP before but will consider this one.

Thanks for the suggestions about cutting up their marketing stuff!

Girl I feel ya. I’ve been in such a mood for days. Today I made the trek to my not so local scrapbook store for the first time in 2 years, and even that pissed me off! Mostly because I forgot how claustrophobic the store and owner are. She asked if I do crops and I said “oh no. I’m not social at all”. She didn’t get the hint. lol she had probably 25 christmas lines out and that is part of what bugs me. The companies all regurgitating the exact same colors and designs year after year. I’m going to pull out my Christmas box soon with all the pix and stuff and just tell the darn stories already. I feel like I’m supposed to get all into buying new stuff and I just don’t need to. It’s like I’ve saved up stuff and pictures and it’s this massive project now. I know I know, I make my own rules and there’s no pressure to buy in our group here.

It’s like I’ve saved up stuff and pictures and it’s this massive project now. Well, Christmas is a bit of a one trick poney so I get that companies aren't keen on trying new colour schemes. I remember seeing 1 star reviews on some colourful Christmas papers last year on scrapbook.com because they contained "Pepto Bismol" pink and yuck, that was so *not* Christmas. I agree that if you let projects like these pile up, it ends up looking and feeling like Scrap Mountain. Cheering you on from down below, my friend! Hike it, plant your flag and make that project your b*tch. Sending my love to you and mom and anyone else having a crabby crap day in the mood department. Blame it on Friday the 13th and the full moon or something. Sometimes, it's just better to embrace one's inner Wednesday Addams, the sarcasm and misanthropy. Nothing like a nice glass of wine or cup of warm goodness with a treat in your comfiest chair and no one around.

And one more gripe then I’ll go clean my kitchen. I was at the lss and the way too chatty owner asked if I had kids I say yes she says ages I say 20,18,16 and she goes “oh, those aren’t kids. Those are grown ups” with a weird face. I was like bitch! Just kidding what I actually said was “well they’re still babies to me” it irked me.

I think they said reveal is next week on someone’s IG comment. Looks like it’s next Friday per this event? Actually, I just read in one of their IG replies that "release" is happening next week. Dafuq is happening with CP. I doubt it's release since none of the major online SB retailers have their winter line in the pre-order section. Reveal was supposed to be this week but gets pushed back to next week Friday? Erm, ok then. Someone has a bad social media coordinator or...? ETA: On the upside, it looks like it won't be a winter exclusive line. A yellow cab and a Christmas tree? Alright, sign me up! They're also calling it a "holiday collection" but I don't trust whomever's doing their online posts.

Count me in for being super crabby. I'm not going to share the details as its my own stupid fault. But lets just say that I dropped the ball on something that has cost me $60 to do again and will take 5 hours of my time to repeat. Kicking myself over and over again.

Sorry to hear lots of people are having bad days.
This morning after talking about the Sanna Annukka Nordstrom designs and thinking about collecting pretty paper bits and pieces I started second guessing my intention to stick with a digital project this year. But I'm not going to worry about it. It's September. I do't need to buy anything. In November (or later) I'll figure it out. We'll see if I manage to get ahead of the game with gifts and planning and decorating and how that makes me feel about the short Christmas season this year (stupid late Thanksgiving) or whether I decide to do a hybrid December album in January.

how that makes me feel about the short Christmas season this year (stupid late Thanksgiving) I feel like the end of the year is quite busy in the US. Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas (and the holy schmoly 12 days before Christmas ) and that, at the same time, there's pressure to have your home decked out and festive for each of these holidays, making it even more stressful. I have never had to worry about the length of Christmas season: the early adopters head into it around December 1st around here (and some moan that it's too early). Catholics who follow the Sunday Advent candle-burning tradition on the First Sunday of Advent (fourth Sunday before Christmas Day). I'm thinking about adding a key dates page to my December documenting this year with all the dates that I did something in advance for Christmas. Gift buying, Christmas recipe testing, DD/JYC goodies purchased, first time I played my Christmas playlist, etc. A bit à la old style ledger page. I love seeing scribbled ledger pages in vintage books...

My sister and oldest niece celebrate birthdays that day but will have their parties that weekend. I will be decorating early this year if I can.

We have a couple of late November birthdays as well but no Thanksgiving to compete with, fortunately. Anybody got some Christmas (or Thanksgiving) stuff done already? I'm only giving a few meaningful presents (and ask for shared experiences in return) so I can't leave it late because of the thinking + sourcing. I did just figure out two really good books to give and have ordered them. Christmas jams with spice are also all done. I just need to find some fabric to cover the jar lids and make the tags.

Woah, crate paper with a Facebook event.
I’m actually excited that maybe there’s something more than your usual collection. I’d love an album.
My aesthetic has leaned that direction the last couple of years.
So shops know what it is but agreed not to put it on pre-order?
Someone has got to work for ACOT or Scrapbook.com. They can’t release a collection, ship it to stores, and think stores can ship to customers before December, right?
I’m not in retail anymore but orders are placed months in advance, then filled.

Thanksgiving wouldn't be such an issue for me except that we travel to Hawaii to spend it with my SIL's family, and this year we won't actually be back until after December has begun. I usually decorate when we get back but I also struggle emotionally with coming back to dark drab drizzly WA after all that light (one year our whole Thanksgiving was a downpour in HI it was still better than PNW drab). This year the matinee of the Xmas concert is Dec 1 (we're still away) so we had to spend twice as much to go to a Dec 7th show, but that's also the day of our Xmas fun run, so I guess that will mark the start of the season, even if I have my post-HI downer. If I know December will feel short I can plan for that. We also have two December birthdays. I have one gift bought and wrapped already (Prime day!), and the other bought (taking it to HI to save shipping hassles - last year SIL didn't get her gift until after New Year's because I screwed up the shipping speed/her travel dates). I make blurb books from the year's photos for gifts - one (with SIL's photos) I make just before and during our Thanksgiving trip to get Black Friday discounts, the other (my family) I leave until later and send after New Year's. I also make photo calendars, and I have a note to start printing those in November, ready to mail to the UK and NZ early. Not sure how this Xmas will go since my MIL has had a paranoia flare-up and we've had to cut off contact with her. Need to decide whether to print blurb books off for her when/if she decides we're not the enemy. I already have 2 trip books I made earlier in the year for her and I don't want to deny her the pictures of her only grandchild's life just because her brain is making up false stories about us taking things from her house. So I guess that answers that - I will get one printed for when her brain switches targets. Anyway, 2 fewer holiday gatherings to attend at this rate. I reviewed my JYC albums for the last couple of years and wrote down all the forward planning dates and things I forget I have to do (non holiday stuff like renewing my business license) so I feel like I have a jump on this year's stuff. I also created a document with all the prompt headings for JYC. And if I put up a Halloween tree this year I can get a head start on decorating to avoid the energy slump. I appreciate this thread for lots of reminders to plan ahead.

There is a Christmas ledger paper. I think simple stories made it a couple of years ago. I’ll look for it. It’s 12x12 but I cut it down.
Maybe I’ll make something up in photoshop. I’ll share it if I do.

Simple Stories and Carta Bella had ledger papers in their Christmas collections of the past few years, I'm sure. Ledger papers are often overlooked in December albums but can so easily be used for busy times like the holidays: gift purchases, ingredients to buy to make Christmas dinner/Christmas cookies, cards sent/received, etc. Big fan!
