Had to do some quick calculation, but evidently I'm 53 on Friday. I'm so very in! For the past few years, I've had to do that too. Calculate from the year I was born. Crazy how fast time flies. I remember when I was young, hearing adults say that. Now it's me. Ugh! I guess it's good when we don't feel our age. Well, most days. hee hee.
I've always had to do this. I never wanted to remember what age I was, even when I was in my 20s. Silly girl, I know. But I always remember DHs age so I just have to remember that between June & December we're the same age and between Jan. & June I'm a year older.

51 in November. I'm in. Can we talk about the exam that I had NO idea has to happen at the yearly gyn when you turn 50? ?
What's this? I go next week for my yearly appointment. I may need to cancel.

I’m in, please tell me about night sweats, menopause and possibly a hysterectomy Seriously! Judy Blume needs to write a sequel to "Are You There God? It's Me, Margaret". That would be great!

51 in November. I'm in. Can we talk about the exam that I had NO idea has to happen at the yearly gyn when you turn 50? ? I, too, am curious about what this is? My guess is a rectal exam. Sucks, but just part of life I think. Though it certainly helps to be prepared for it. I’m in. I’m 46, but my body is seriously old. Too many medical problems for most of my life. Though the menopause sure adds some weirdness to life. Damn facial hair sprouts out of nowhere. Anyone ever do cool sculpting? Pretty sure I’m going to have it done on my neck before my DD’s wedding next year. Turkey necks abound on my Mom’s side, including her. The woman is at best a size 2, with the neck of an obese person. And I’m headed that way. I don’t think of myself as vain, but it really, really bothers me.

Ok I just have to ask....
For the first time ever (pregnancy does NOT count and is NOT possible) - I'm SIX DAYS LATE!!!
I've been tracking for 3 or 4 years now. And lately it has been 22, 26, 28, 25, kind of spread. Early, but never late. I'm on day 32 now....
I know it's not the end - but it sure is the start of the end!!

For me about two years ago my periods started getting weird (I'm 51).. it was like a war zone one month and then nothing the next. It was not regular either. This went on for almost a year or year and half (granted I am not good at tracking) but I haven't had a period since (I think) January. Talked to doctor a few weeks ago and she said you have to wait an entire year before you are cleared.. no more periods. So I am 'almost' there. Praying that I am!!

I'm in! I hit 49 and started with high blood pressure issues. 50 saw thyroid issues. Things have leveled out so this year is all about getting back on track with lower carbs, more fruits/veggies, intermittent fasting, and regular health screenings. My biggest goal is to lose the extra weight. My mom had bariatric surgery when she was 63 and lost 85lbs. She is now 77 and her physical body has "reverse aged". Even her life-long astigmatism has corrected itself -- she only needs reading glasses.
I want that.

Can we talk about memory issues?

This thread is so funny. I am a very experienced senior as I will be 70 in about 6 months. I remember when I joined 2 Peas back in the day and everyone was having babies. Then it was more and more Peas were getting divorces and now we have all moved into Menopause Manor. The family that menopauses together stays together?

I’m interested! I’ve not been participating as much here lately (no real reason) and I would like to be more involved and make more connections. I need people to hold my hand as I approach my upcoming colonoscopy in September. 😏 Doing the prep right now!! Ugh!

It's hard to believe I'm 53. I can clearly remember, like it was yesterday, graduating from high school and getting excited about college. I wish I could do that again, but with the knowledge and insight that I have now, lol.

If you plan your food intake, the prep won't be that bad. I start the week before by modifying my diet. Salads and greens are the hardest to eliminate properly, so decrease eating salads. Stop eating beef and other red meat. Eat lighter meals and drink lots of water. Intake = Output

Count me in. I'm 58 so I have plenty of experience at being 50-ish. I think I need a new profile picture. My current one is from my 50th birthday.

My drink is 64 oz Gatorade mixed with Miralax. It just tastes like orange drink so no biggie there. But... its hard to drink that much liquid on an empty stomach. Although, I will say the Dulcolax had me a little queasy and that seemed to stop when I started the Gatorade. I am almost done with the drink now and mentally that was my biggest challenge! As far as "bathroom" issues, not too bad at all. After each 8oz. I go and its over. I do think it is because I ate light a few days before. So far so good!

This wk a former classmate of mine from HS passed away, and everyone was ooh, soo sorry, he was such a great guy, etc. And I'm like. I do NOT remember him..at all. We had a class of 55. Find out later he moved away in grade 6. So I wasn't completely crazy. Who the heck can remember stuff from elementary school? not me!

I’m so not looking forward to it.
