I still have my wedding dress boxed and stored in the basement. I really should get rid of it at this point as it's not that sentimental to me and I can't see any of my kids wanting it. Perhaps I should cut it up and save the fabric for future use. At least that would take up less room. Do you still own your bridesmaid/wedding dress?

Yes it is in a box in the basement. I have no daughters and the sequins yellowed from the cleaning process. Not sure what to do with mine either.

No- no kids so no reason to keep it. Donated it. I hope someone found a bargain or maybe a local theater group was able to use it.
Rather than cutting it up and putting the material into drawer, consider donating to an “angel” like this :https://www.nicuhelpinghands.org/programs/angel-gown-program/
There are other groups like this one.

I still have my wedding dress, it's 33 years old. Even IF my daughter wanted to wear it I wouldn't let her. I think it is ugly!
I got rid of a couple bridesmaids dresses a few years back. Whoever said that I could wear them again was a moron!

I had my wedding dress. It was yellowed but I threw it in the wash with a bunch of bleach. I made my dd's veil out of it. It was sentimental and beautiful.
I also cut up my Mom's dress and made my ring bearer's pillow out of it and a "money" bag. That was 35 years ago!! My Mom didn't care if I cut it up, but of course, now I would love to have it. It was a classic from 65 years ago.

I still have my puffy sleeves, huge skirt with long train dress only because my Dad protects that thing like it's gold.
We've had to evacuate for 3 hurricanes since I've worn it. Each 3 times he packed and took it.
My dd looks at it and says that we couldn't even give it away, much less sell it.

I was a bridesmaid in my sister wedding last year (the first time I couldn’t escape the “honor”). I still have the dress because I have a feeling she’d be sad that I didn’t keep it to treasure the memory or some such thing. It’s not a big deal, so I keep it for now.
My mom took my wedding dress hostage years ago. I wanted to cut the train off and use the satin for some trim for baby blankets when I started having kids. She freaked the f out because apparently cutting up a wedding dress instead of preserving it and keeping it in a closet forever is the biggest sin of all. She was storing it for me, and she hid it when I came to visit so I couldn’t sneak it home with me to carry out my perverse and evil plans. Then we had a falling out and now we’re estranged, so who knows where the dress is. Hopefully she’ll donate it rather than destroy it if she decides to get rid of it, but who knows.

Yes, both. I've worn my wedding dress twice, and the bridesmaid's dress still gets worn a couple of times a year, for Hallowe'en with a witch's hat and boots, and again with a bonnet and a cloak for the town's Victorian evening at Christmas. It is dark green floor-length princess style with a Queen Anne neckline bolero jacket with pointed long sleeves. It's a bit tight these days but it looks amazing. I suspect it might not fit this year though as I've put a few pounds on since my surgery last year.

I have mine...but I only got married two years ago. I'm thinking of donating it to an organization that uses them for military weddings. That seems to be my best option since my DD is long grown and has 2 sons.
A friend of my DD's had her wedding gown cut down and made into dresses for her granddaughter's American Girl dolls. I thought that was also an awesome idea.

I donated my wedding dress to a group, Angel Gowns, that turns them into small dressing gowns for babies who don't make it home from the hospital. they have chapters in many cities.
my one bridesmaid dress i donated the day after the wedding i was in. it was not the kind you would wear again. i was nervous something would go wrong with the wedding pics and we would have to re-do some of them after i had already donated the dress. thank goodness that didn't happen.

I still have mine and actually pulled it out of the box and tried it on this summer. My daughters couldn’t stop laughing. They assured me that they would never wear it. I was pleased that it still fit, but the puffy long sleeves and satiny fabric were so hot!

I have some of the trims and beading from my wedding dress, but the dress was cut up to make my kids Christening gowns. I have 2 bridesmaids dresses that I wear. They are just black cocktail dresses that I chose, one is long and one is short.

This is me EXCEPT my aunt made my wedding dress so I can’t just throw it out. I’m thinking of having something made from it ( or doing it myself ) but I haven’t settled in what

The dress from my first wedding was donated a long time ago. The dress from my second wedding I sent to Donna when she was looking for a dress for a wedding she planned to attend. Sadly she didn’t get to that wedding 😢

I still have mine-preserved & in a box in my closet. I look at it every time we move-7 times in 21 years. It hasn’t yellowed, it still looks the same. I’m not sure why I’m keeping it, my dd sure doesn’t want it. My kids don’t want kids, so probably no grandkids either. I guess I just like looking at it 😁
At one time, I had 7 bridesmaids dresses. I took them to my cousin’s house for a garage sale. They didn’t sell, go figure. After the sale, she just put everything in her basement, that was over 20 years ago. As far as I know, they are still in her basement. 😋

I still have my wedding dress. Even though I'm divorced, it was not a bad break up so I kept it. My mom made my dress so it is special to me. My niece has tried it on it a few times for "dress up" as did a foreign exchange student my brother's family hosted. It was used in a fashion show at my church once too. So fun to pull it out every so often. I still love it and have fond memories of it.

I still have my dress. It's in a box in my home office closet. In hindsight, I wish I would have used it to make my sons baptismal outfits. I'll never get rid of it though.

I still have mine in the box, preserved. I am afraid to open it in case for some reason the air will ruin it, which thinking about it sounds stupid. I got married 23 years ago, but I think it is a dress someone would still like. My daughter will not ever be able to fit into it so I am hoping she will maybe use the veil one day. I am going to have to think what/who I would like for this to go to. I would be thrilled if someone else would like to wear it someday. It cost $1,200 at the time and my husband and I paid for our wedding. I just might have to open the box. On a side note, before our meal was served my husband spilled a glass of wine on it. I wonder what the chances are that that stain never came back. I took it to the cleaners after this happened.

I have my bouquet and our cake topper since they were made of silk flowers (1984) but have no idea where my dress is. My niece wore it then a friend of my sisters asked if her daughter could wear it so it was used at least 3 times. That makes me happy.

I can’t even remember how many times I was a bridesmaid. I still remember each time we were getting our dresses we heard the same line, if you shorten this dress you wear it again, as if. I did not save any of them. DH and I eloped, so no wedding dress for me. I’m guessing I would not have saved it either.
Renting dresses is a really great idea.

Yes. We went back to the Maldives for our 10th anniversary on the basis that it still fitted me 🙂 I think I vaguely thought it might get made into a christening gown but my DDs (as well as me now) are atheist so won’t be christening their children. So it sits up in the attic, well packed and gorgeous still but...without any purpose at all except sentimentality 😁

Just a couple of months ago, I tore mine apart. I saved the lace in case I came up with some good crafty idea to use it with.. but I doubt that will even happen. DD is even getting married next year and I didn't even think about maybe using the lace somehow. That's how good I am.. HAHA.. I don't regret it one bit. No one wants an early 90s dress with HUGE sleeves and bows...

Yep.
My wedding dress is hanging in my closet, still in the white plastic bag I picked it up from the store in. We didn't have 2 pennies to rub together back then, so I never had it cleaned and boxed.
I also have 3 bridesmaid dresses up there as well. All from a 2 year span, and all some kind of lovely floral. The 90s were special. LOL

I let my girls play with my wedding dress when they were younger. It is in a box in the garage.

I wore my mother's dress from the late 40s when I got married in the 80s - kind of classic lines in satin brocade. I still have it, but have no children, so I should probably get rid of it.

I have mine. Never had it cleaned or preserved, so I should probably take a look at it. Dh's aunt had hers made into a Christening gown for her granddaughters.
