This time of year, I spend most days canning and prepping garden produce for the freezer. So imagine my joy at getting this quilt top pieced this week! Quilting it will likely have to wait for a few weeks.

Here are a couple of donation baskets for a benefit auction last month. Currently making more for a craft fair in Oct. I probably won’t do the bowls or dishsoap though.

This is amazing! I love drunkard’s path squares, however they are pieced! Yours is stunning.

i'm on a wood working roll as we finish our man cave. i bought this lower quality live edge slab for a song last year, and finally made it into a bar top. it's pretty narrow, only 14" at widest point, and the grain isn't beautiful. but my husband says no one is ever going to use it anyway so who cares, lol. it's a little tall, but that allows the sofa in front of it to recline. bar table by bluetulipdesign, on Flickr bar table 3 by bluetulipdesign, on Flickr

I finished my circle cardigan. The hanger is a bit wider than my shoulders, but you can see how the body of it hangs in drapey folds. I wanted it to have a lot of swish and movement at the hemline and when laid out, it is huge! But the effect is exactly what I wanted.

I just got a notice that Black Sheep Wools accidentally charged us VAT and they refunded $16.40 to my card. So, that brings the cost of the blanket to under $100 - YAY! Same thing happened to me today. I had a mini panic. My email flashed up with refund from Black Sheep Wools and I panicked they cancelled my order...lol... Exactly what I thought too! So glad that it was a little refund instead I saw that they mailed it last week. Wonder how long it will take to get here from the over seas...

No pattern, I just worked it out as I went. It's literally a very full circle with openings made where sleeves would go, and basic funnel shaped tubes for sleeves.

I was hoping it would ship soon. I've had really good luck ordering from Wool Warehouse in the UK. Things come a whole lot faster than what I expect. So I remain optimistic it will arrive before the CAL starts.

Well guys, I just got an email from Black Sheep Wools. They can't fulfill my order. They are suggesting a substitution and I'm not thrilled with the substitution. I am considering cancelling.
This is what I received from them. Please help me decide.
"Nature's Walk Crochet Along - Colour Update
As you may be aware, we have had to substitute some colours in both Scheepjes Stone Washed colour packs for the Nature's Walk Crochet Along.
The substitutions are detailed below and it is all explained more fully with colour comparisons in this video.
We are so sorry that this has happened and know that it is not ideal. We only became aware yesterday that these changes needed to take place and have been working very hard with Cherry Heart to find a resolution.
If you wish to cancel your order and receive a full refund, please reply to this email with your order number to let me know and we will sort everything out for you. The colour packs are now made up and we would like to dispatch them as soon as possible, so your prompt reply would be greatly appreciated.
If you do choose to receive a refund, you will still be added to the mailing to list to receive the bonus squares every week.
If you have any other concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me.

elaine did you get yours? Or the same email I got? That stinks! I got a shipping notice on Tuesday. I sincerely hope that they didn’t substitute the colors out. There was no mention in the email. I was able to put together all the yarn in the correct colors at Deramores, so you can try that - although I wouldn’t be surprised if others have done that now and they might not be available. I ended up buying the pack at Black Sheep because I wanted the bonus squares patterns, but it sounds like you would get them anyhow, so I’d try that.

elaine did you get yours? Or the same email I got? jeremysgirl, I got the same email that you did. I’m okay with the substitutions as I tend to work with darker colors any way. I was hoping to get the package soon, so I suppose the email means next week if I’m lucky.

Well elaine I'm glad you got yours. I doubt they substituted your colors without sending you the email. I looked at the substitutions and I decided against it. I requested a refund. I will still most likely do the afghan but just at a later date when I can get the colors I want. The colors really sold me on the blanket. And hey, it's not like I don't have enough potential projects to keep me busy until I'm 72!

I got 3 blue ribbons and 5 red at the county fair this week. One blue was my Photo with a Trav baseball album. Other two were Christmas items. I didn't enter the centerpiece thing I posted about earlier in the thread. I wanted to redo the paint job. I have more vintage ornaments and more bowls so I will try to work on combining it all.

Oh man jeremysgirl that is so disappointing! I'm not sure what I would do either. I think if I wasn't 100% happy with the substitutions, I probably would cancel the order. That is a lot of money to spend for something you aren't in love with. I wonder if they would be willing to send you the pattern, so you can source your own yarn in colors you prefer? Or is that what they are offering already? I don't know how it works, so unsure if they will be sending the actual squares patterns out by email or what lol
