The older I get, the less I care about food. Just give me something to keep the hunger at bay and I’m satisfied. That’s not to say I don’t appreciate a lovely meal but if I have to do the cooking I’m just as happy with a bowl of cereal or a microwave hot pretzel. I guess my laziness out trumps my food cravings.

I love black licorice! I bought a small bag of All Sorts today and could barely control myself to not eat the whole bag. One fell on the floor and, yes, I picked it up & ate it :-p

I think ketchup makes just about anything taste better, including potato chips, mac n cheese, cold cut sandwiches, and salmon. I love candy corn. Loooove candy corn. Can’t stand ketchup. I “tolerate” it with Mcdonald’s fries and only mcdonald’s fries. I almost never order fries anywhere else. In the mac and cheese scale, stouffers frozen comes first (Beecher’s if i want to be elegant), but when i need “plastic” mac (and yes, some days do i need it) i always opt for the deluxe blue box (with the cheese pouch). It’s been ages since i last had the powder stuff, but i used to love it. Have they changed the recipe? I might go out and get a box just for old time’s sake. My worst food confession: can’t make homemade mac n cheese. I’ve tried a million recipes. It’s a no-go for me.

I have many loves and despises of various foods. But I love Vienna Sausages from time to time. I do drain the liquid and rinse the sausages before eating them.

I eat like a 12 year old boy, nothing but pure junk food shit. The only sort of healthy food I eat is pizza. Pizza has all the major foods groups I need; dairy, bread, veggies & protein! I also eat avocados & tomatoes but the rest of my diet consists of queso, candy, Lucky Charms, Captain Crunch & an occasionally box of Kraft Mac & cheese in the blue & yellow box. I basically eat like shit.

Ok here goes. My husband is a chef. I like my beef medium well done +. He knows this but he always makes mine rare 🤬 I like Kraft Dinner and Stovetop stuffing. Oh, and Pop Tarts. We are keto so that stuff isn’t on the menu, but I would eat like garbage if I could 🤪

I love well done seafood. When I cook fish I cook it until it's dry. Then, I make home made tartar sauce to have with it. Juicy fish and shrimp just don't sit right with me. I'm convinced it's not done. Watching cooking shows where they just sear tuna and then eat it and it's all raw in the middle really turns my stomach.
Give me some delicious Chef Boyardee mini raviolis out of a can any day and I'll be happy.
I can polish off a cheap Tombstone frozen pizza all by myself and just be so happy eating it.

A Totino’s pizza with the tiny square pieces of pepperoni and plenty of Frank’s hot sauce is my idea of delicious.

If I were a disgusting person, which I am not, I would allow myself to eat Underwood Roast Beef Spread on a sandwich once a year. It looks like canned barf.

I’ll eat the shit out of a fried bologna sandwich with mayo and green olives.
That’s pretty much the extent of my gross food.

Speaking of Kraft macaroni and cheese, when I was in Canada earlier this year, I was surprised to see all of the flavors they had! I was also surprised that they call it Kraft Dinner (or KD), which is what my mom always called it. I may have packed quite a few boxes in my suitcase to take home. Now I Have the Barenaked Ladies song running through my head... If I had a million dollars...

It’s no secret, I like Peeps and I like them best when they’re so stale that they crack when you bite them. But the problem is everybody who knows me knows this so EVERYBODY buys them for me. I literally have an entire shelf in my pantry full of them and nobody can eat that many so I end up throwing a lot of them away.
I’m a maple syrup snob. It MUST be real maple syrup or just forget it, it’s not worth ruining my pancakes or waffles with the fake crap. I’ll eat them dry before dousing them in flavored corn syrup.

I’ll eat the shit out of a fried bologna sandwich with mayo and green olives. That’s pretty much the extent of my gross food. My mom used to make us fried bologna on grilled cheese sandwiches, which always had mayo on the inside. I loved them! Spam and Mac (n cheese blue box from powder) was also a favorite. If she offered it now I’d at least try it. Peanut butter and (dill) pickle sandwiches, also the bomb. Still a favorite though not the same without Granma’s homemade pickles. She also made guacamole with mayo. I didn’t like guac as a child but when I started liking it as an adult it was with mayo. At least I now know the error of my ways. Now, I was raised on homemade spaghetti sauce and homemade lasagna. Our family recipe is an all day cooking thing so as an adult I have resorted to bottled sauce (Prego with mushrooms), and frozen Stouffer’s Lasagna. Though it doesn’t compare the lasagna is fairly decent, the sauce is edible but really shouldn’t be in the same category. But I’m still too lazy to make my own and freeze it! Oh yeah, also as a child I could not stand cooked asparagus, even though it was fresh from Granma’s garden. But cold, canned asparagus dipped in mayo as a snack? One of my summer favorites. That and saltine crackers with miracle whip. I guess my main point is, I blame my mom

Okay, re: your #1 point - you're a monster. Re: your #2 point - I'm right with you there! I have yet to find a made-from-scratch mac & cheese recipe that I like as much as the good old Kraft blue box. But it has to be the one with the cheese sauce in a tin, not the powdered shit. Naw, gimme that shitty powder. I'm sitting on that bench. Actually, both of yours apply. I want my chicken to be done enough to still be ready to eat after 2 reincarnations. That cheezey powder is the best comfort food

My deep dark secret. I’m not crazy about most fast food, but I love the occasional deep fried Popeye’s chicken and every 5-10 years a trip to Long John Silver’s. Aaaahhhhh LJS! We don’t have any around here anymore, or at least where I think the risk of either being mugged or catching a food borne disease is worth the risk, but I miss that stuff! And the joy of digging through the “crumbs” and finding a giant one buried. That was always the best part. Yes, the giant crumb search is essential. DS & I had some LJS with my bff when she came to visit. The last time we had it was probably 2011. Both my kids remembered it. We were all a bit sick from the grease afterwards though. But oh so yummy.

I love this thread. It makes me happy to see this board get back to its roots from 19-20 years ago and discuss the really important things in life. My confession: I prefer Miracle Whip to Mayonnaise. So much so, that one of my favorite things to eat in the whole wide world is a grilled cheese sandwich, immediately opened and then slathered on the inside with Miracle Whip. Blame my parents. All of us kids ate grilled cheese that way when growing up. I use Miracle Whip in my deviled eggs, too. Everywhere I take them, people love them and want to know what my “secret ingredient” is. Ha. It’s artery clogging Miracle Whip!

True confessions! My favorite kind of thread.
My mom, back in the 1960’s, only cooked from a can or box. A staple meal was Kraft Mac & cheese. But she went a step above & added 1/2 jar of Cheese Whiz. Cheese Whiz was some kind of soft processed fake cheese spread & it made Mom’s Mac & cheese so creamy & delicious! Can you even buy Cheese Whiz now? I haven’t made any of that in 30 years.
Mom fed me fried baloney sandwiches, Vienna sausages & deviled ham on crackers with Miracle Whip spread. It’s amazing I’m in good health at 62. I wouldn’t eat any of that stuff and haven’t most of my adult life, but I can still remember how it all tasted & now I’m hungry.

I LOVE DiGiorno's Pizza. My husband thinks it is complete crap and refuses to eat it. When he's out of town for business, that is what is for dinner! I have zero self control when it comes to a DiGiorno's Pizza and could probably happily eat a large one all by myself.
