i know the themes for this year are already decided (and i love knowing them in advance). but i'd love to get feedback and more ideas for the future, if there are words you'd like to see/use. i feel like AE is always open to our input.

I could be talked into splitting the WITL main kit if anyone is interested. Not interested at all in: the wood veneer, cork, about 1/2 the rubber icons, 1/2 the hexagon shapes , the paper pad and the chipboard banners). ok, mom, i'm off to consider this! i'll pm you soon if it's a go.

I posted this over on AE's Craft The Story FB page and thought I'd cross post here:
I’ve been so inspired by the Story Kits lately. I love this month’s Home theme! I’ve had some themes/words rolling around in my head recently, that I’d love to see in future kits. I’ll list them here and everyone else should feel free to add their ideas😊.
Story Theme Ideas:
Hands Hold Color Dream Free Moments True/Truth Reflect Doors Stars Memory Day Night Soul Now/Then Circle Smile Strong Real

I really like the albums and will probably try to get both. I’m still debating the main kit. I like some items and am indifferent to others (not really a fan of all the gingham cards). I really do like the variety of embellishments in the main kit. i agree - definitely not a fan of gingham!! but i do like using the plain white back of those cards so i'm leaning towards overlooking those gingham cards

I was watching Jen Schow's April 2018 Story of the Month video this morning and noticed her organizer for her Ali Edwards' products and thought it was really smart. It's at about the 4 minute mark here: youtu.be/cp_rREP02r0So I looked up the organizer inserts for the Iris 12x12 cases and they are $8 each on Amazon Canada ($7.49 each on the Iris website for the U.S.) and was really pleased about the price so I bought 2. I already store my AE products separately from my other stash, in Iris cases, so I think this will be really perfect. That's all, just wanted to share in case it helps someone else. thank you! could you link to the inserts for the US? i'm not easily finding them

This wont be a popular idea, but I would almost rather her SBTM kit not include references to holidays like Easter, Mothers Day, etc. Give me a kit I can use to tell any story, from any month. i heartily agree with this. i'd love to see the SBTM kits have less holiday and a lot more "seasonal" flavor. most definitely waaaay too much easter for me. i signed up knowing, of course, what i'd be getting this year - but maybe this could be taken into consideration for any of next year's kits that aren't already designed? katiejaeger

in general, i prefer photos and blog posts over videos. however, if i do watch video, if think shorter is better i love haul videos, ie: videos of unboxing a kit.

I agree... especially when I don't think this system is very efficient or provides anything you can't get elsewhere.
For example, one way (off the top of my head, the kinks would have to get worked out) that Ali could make this system really work would be to provide the basics and then have an add-on to all classes + subscriptions [either sold for a small add-on fee, or comes free with each class, or comes with an annual sub/one time fee that covers all upcoming classes] with specially designed printables/physical products that come for each class that specifically address the class content.
For example, for each story kit provide the PDF in a full color print out that comes pre-punched to fit in the binder + a full color print out that is pre-punched to fit in the binder of the kit and stamp + pages specifically designed to fit in the binder that give you space to plan out your own stories for the kit + take notes during the presentations. Maybe include additional specs + sketches for Ali's projects + the guest story teller projects + maybe some additional projects Ali had thought of but not created. Also create a similar (but smaller scale) item for the SBTM kit [i.e. full color print out of the kit + planning pages] and promise to include similar pages for all upcoming class releases.
In my mind that would be worth buying into a new system. These pages should be provided for free download to print at home with each class + a small fee (or one time fee or annual subscription or worked into the cost of the class) for the physical products with each class. Ali could've released the base products with this promise + a class that explained the set up + how you would use the products.
Such a missed opportunity...
[I've said this before, but the more I think about it, the more I think about how great this could've been]
I seriously would pay to have those pdfs from each kit in a binder with planning pages designed for that kit [for example, with a full color image of the kit itself... pure gold!]. But a generic system that I can create on my own for cheaper and design to more efficiently work for my process? No thanks. some very good ideas here!!

Mine was broken, but I was able to glue the binder apparatus down with contact cement adhesive. i'm glad you could fix yours . mine wasn't fixable...but it was also only a dollar, so i'm just using other parts of it.

I think making the binder 6 ring but not wide enough to fit the 6x8 page protectors is a big miss. Now I'm wishing I picked up one of those super cheap Hello Forever planners back during the SC sale but that Target mini-binder is a great substitute. it's just as well you didn't buy the HF planner caspad, in my experience. mine arrived broken, as did a number of others according to what i recall.

Nobody is stalking anyone. She posted on her public Instagram that she has a new job. Wow indeed. This was not meant to be snide. Wow. Touchie, touchie. Sorry, if you were offended. @kimberlyatlga It's clear that you are here with an agenda to agitate. It's very obvious and quite sad, really. I doubt you'll find what you're looking for here.

In the end, I purchased a binder (and a couple of other items not related to the story planner) I am going to look into the digital products when they come out. I am not even sure if I am going to use the binder as a story planner, since I already have a pretty good system in place, but I could not resist those polka dots . you're allowed to enjoy the binder .

the concept is excellent, the products are not anything i need. i'll enjoy watching others use it, but at most would only be interested in a few of the smaller items. 6x8 would have made this more appealing to me, as well.

Hum very interesting news about Catherine, she was their head designer and it was made clear that as long as she was designing the kits they would be pink. I bet the kits will still be full of pink and flowers though. And I am sure the new company she is with will be all pink soon. especially since her new employer has 3 little girls

Catherine Davis is GONE from SC?! I've been away a long time, has this been discussed? no MB at SC has made life a lot easier for AF, as was the plan, i'm sure. significant changes come and go with no need for explanations.

It was a bumped thread. sleepingbooty has not been on since 2016. You can go to her name and it says the last time she was on. No, her last post was Jan 1 of this year. yes - this makes sense. we have all been interacting with her here right up to december 2017, for sure.

Interesting about Catherine. The lady she is now working for is out of Minnesota I think? I wonder if she moved? I also wonder who else is jumping ship? I think this is a very curious move on Catherines part because she moved to Kentucky for her work. wow. yes - this is pretty significant in one way or another.

So...I've decided that I'm done paper scrapbooking. Ugh...it's been a long time coming. I like digital and starting with the PL app and moving it to Over to add more details. My boys are older and I just don't have the amount of pictures I once had. Today I'm organizing what needs to go. I have felt this pressure for so long to keep doing it. It was self-inflicted pressure, but over the last few weeks, it's just become more and more clear that I'm moving on. I'm going to keep a few things, but not much. A few years ago when we moved from Nebraska to Minnesota I got rid of a lot, but I've collected some in the ridiculous SC sales. when you're ready, you're ready...you will feel so good once it's done. i still love paper but i'm working on paring way down. let us know how it feels!

Mine was 15%. Hahahaha... thanks, but no thanks. Ugh. I'm sorry. I thought it would be 20% for everyone. I used it because I'm switching over to 9x12 albums, and they're already on sale at 14.99 instead of 29.99. With any additional discount, that's a good deal for me.

I'm excited about the March kit. The umbrella stamp makes me happy even though it doesn't rain here much (I say this after a night of light rain, lol). I am a little worried that I won't find anything to properly pair with the green tone she used throughout most of the kit, but the bright yellow is really nice...especially on the quote card. I'm not sure I'm digging the 'sorry for what I said when it was winter' card, but most of the others I can find a way to use! about the 'sorry for what i said...' card - i plan to cross out winter and write spring because spring is my least favorite season and winter is my second favorite. so that will be my opportunity to tell that tiny little story , which otherwise would likely not get recorded.

I like the fabric kit and would buy it if I could....also love the cork heart add-on. Not a subscriber so I wont be getting it. LOVE the SBTM. Glad I get it. I do wish the add-ons were better for it. It seems like the Story Kit addons are better and get more thought put into them. i would be happy to part with the Fabric kit, mom - i'm not feeling the color scheme at all. let me know if you're interested.
