How is everyone doing on their project? I'm really enjoying the project so far. It's really been a good experience for me. Having the album to work on has helped me stay focused. I've incorporated some of the goals in my day to day planner which is also helping. Did you complete your January prompts? Yes Have you started/completed the February prompt? Not yet, I had created a vision board on Pinterest as an inspiration so I may pull somethings from there to make a collage or something. I may also look at some magazines and see if anything jumps out at me. I'm not a fan of this sort of collage but I think I'm going to push myself to do something ... who knows, maybe I'll enjoy the process or end result more than I anticipate? Have you made progress on your goals? Some, but not as much as I'd hoped. I'm refocusing on a few areas ... I did accomplish one big item on my goal list which felt great. And I did a few things to set myself up for future goals. What do you need to reassess for February? I'm worried that I started trying to do too much at once. I'm re-evaluating the pieces and parts in February. And I'm thinking about building out a 'plan' for the year so I'm not trying to do too much at once. I am moving slowly. Which is ok. I'm using a notebook similar to a traveler's notebook. I haven't started the vision board yet. I like refugeepea 's idea about the quotes, and may do something similar. It sounds like you're off to a great start, anrobe ! Awesome!

Welcome to March in One Little Word! Okay, so it's not quite March yet, but Ali shared the prompt already and this one is better to prep for before the first! I need to create something on paper. Even something simple like writing. I feel like I've lost focus this last month with personal and political things really bothering me. My word is create with different categories like create peace, which is what I'm severely lacking in right now. I have done a bit in the create art category, but it's more like do something crafty. I read a book (I know, but it's been a big accomplishment for me in the last 30 days), so that fits another category.

How is everyone doing on their project? I am keeping up but it's only February so we will see. I am using the Journal and I feel it is much easier to jot things down in it then create a separate album.
Is your format working for you/are you going to switch things up? I am loving the OLW Journal format thus far and I believe I will be able to get this year's OLW complete. IT will be my first if I do.
What are you planning on tracking for March? January I tracked my fitness goals (food, walking, jogging, etc.), February I did a whole month of selfies (ala Ali's Pieces of Me), March I will do a whole month of photos via Ali's Art of Noticing prompt.

refugeepea I love that idea! I am considering doing something similar for the 100 days project later this year, but I haven't really fleshed that idea out yet. I hope you regain your focus this month! linhaz I used the OLW journal last year and loved the change of pace after creating an album for years. I love how you're tracking different things each month, I love the idea of doing the art of noticing all month. I'd almost consider doing that except that I already planned what I'm going to do... although now I'm thinking of adding in a photo component! To answer for myself... How is everyone doing on their project? I have done well so far in keeping up with the prompts, although it's only two months in and I've never had trouble this early in the year. The only thing I'm a little behind in is printing a large photo of myself for my cover page (it's completed except I need to print the photo and slip it in the pocket). I also haven't photographed or shared any of my project on Instagram or here! I tend to keep this project mostly private, but I want to share my cover page (once it's done) and my vision board. So hopefully I'll get motivated to do that this weekend. Is your format working for you/are you going to switch things up? My format (a 6x8 album) has been working well so far. I am using the Ali Edwards mini kits and products from my stash, but skipped the main kit this year. I've also decided to use the monthly art from my Get to Work Book as the "monthly title" for each month. I am still considering if I want to add any decoration on them (or the back of them) but for now I'm just cropping them to 6x8 and punching holes and slipping them into the album at the end of the month. What are you planning on tracking for March? My word is "space" which I love so far and one of my goals is to be more active and explore the world more with walks/hikes (explore physical space around me) and clear my head (mental space) so this month I've decided to try to go for a walk each day. I am going to track it based on if I hit my fitbit steps or not, but really the goal is to go for a walk or hike. And linhaz just gave me the idea to add in a photo on each walk. I think I'll do one of my feet/the ground while on my walk because those look fun in a photo grid at the end. --- Also, who has watched the video in the classroom yet? Did you see the sneaks of the next mini kit? OMG it's great! I know a lot of people were scared to sign up without seeing the future kits because of the concern that they wouldn't seem worth the price once we got them, but this one seems even nicer than the first one. I'm so happy I signed up! Ali said she is going to do a public reveal and there is a stamp set that she didn't yet have so she didn't show that, but what she did show includes: + pouch + transparent mini words (similar to the ones in the "you" kit) that say "I AM" + mini metal hearts that are different colors and adhesive backed + a set of small plastic cameras (the solid white plastic, looks like what the monthly words in the story kits are made of... maybe not quite that thick) + 3x4 transparent quote card + 4x6 letter press card + word phrase sticker sheet + sheet of label stickers (seems to be a new die and I love it) + chipboard sheet Plus there will be a stamp set. I'm assuming it's one of the 2x3 sizes, but still, that is a full kit! And I love that a lot of the embellishments aren't the same things we always see and could be used in other projects (sometimes the OLW stuff gets a little too much for me). She really hit this one out of the park as far as design, plus she explained how these products go with upcoming prompts and it's really making me excited to continue working on this project--which is exactly what the intent of the mini kits was. I love it!

How is everyone doing on their project? I am just now getting caught up through February. I really struggled this time with the vision board and my word (release).
Is your format working for you/are you going to switch things up? Im doing 6x8 and I like it. It works well for me.
What are you planning on tracking for March? No clue. I am thinking of doing something like 'meet my walk goal' or something like that. I will be using my Apple watch so if anyone wants to join me, we can link our accounts and cheer each other on for the month. Give me a shout if you are interested.

Ali revealed the second mini kit and it's the shop now. I'm surprised she didn't post an unboxing video, but maybe it's coming soon or maybe she's considering the partial unboxing that was included in the OLW classroom as enough? Either way, I love the kit (except for the stamp... butterflies are not my thing) and am so thrilled it's coming my way!!

It isn't listed on the kit contents either. edited: I asked Ali and its 4x6 - it just looks small, I guess, since there isn't a bunch of pieces.

There’s nothing in it that appeals to me for that price tag, or the commitment for future, unseen kits.

Maybe i'm just used to Ali's prices by now, but the kit seems full to me... those metal hearts and plastic cameras are higher cost items for sure. Plus it includes a stamp, letter press, chipboard... all pricier elements to include. Compared to many other kits at AE or SC, this kit doesn't have much in terms of "cheap filler" like die cuts or regular 3x4 and 4x6 cards. Not that I don't like those things... but they have less cost so they don't need to charge as much for them. And the price includes shipping.
I do see why some people would prefer a fuller kit with less expensive items included to fill it out, but I have such a huge stash, I'm happy to get a few quality pieces over a lot of paper products. And I love those metal hearts!

Yes, terribly! I am trying to give it a good effort for the last half of the month but I'm not really feeling motivated to do anything. The mini kits are cute. I like them both but I don't need any more stuff to do OLW.

mom definitely... I was doing pretty well through mid-week last week and now really nothing. My fitbit group didn't even do a weekly challenge this week... I know I should get outside and walk but it is pretty cold and it's hard to get motivated to go outside when I'm not already dressed, etc. I think i'm going to give myself a couple of days to get used to our new normal (daughter is home from school for 2+ weeks starting today, I'm working from home almost exclusively starting today, husband is working from home for 2 weeks starting tomorrow) and then push myself to get back on track. The goal isn't a perfect month, but just more days than not! Or even just more days than you would have done if you weren't tracking. I'm really curious how this whole pandemic will affect Ali's prompt for April and if she's going to switch it up from what she was previously planning. Citygirl I really don't either, but so many of the supplies work for other projects I'm just using them for that. Only the ones that are super OLW specific will I use in this album. It also helps that I didn't buy the main kit or any other supplies other than the mini kits + the album this year.

Likewise, if you'd like to be added just send a DM or let me know in a comment My March practice was to write at least one gratitude a day. And with the way March panned out, I got a lot more writing done than I anticipated. I'm carrying this through into April. I think in lockdown, working from home, and with the four of us (me, hubby, two teen boys), there's a lot that we could rub each other the wrong way over. We've just completed day 10 in lockdown here in NZ - and none of us is overly grumpy yet. That has got to be a win! How am I feeling my word at the moment - "restore" - I never dreamed this would be something we'd be dealing with. So I'm looking for the positive wherever I can. My faith in humanity is also restored because of this - so many good things being done by ordinary people - in so many lovely ways. So many people doing things for others.

How did your March practice go? My practice went out the window. I did not manage to do any of the practices I set for myself after March 10th. How did Coronavirus impact your practice? After March 10th, I gave myself grace to not worry about my practice. I would tackle it in April. With the pandemic going on, how are you feeling about your word? I think my word BREATHE is perfect to help me deal with the pandemic. Is it still working? How is this project helping (or is it not)? Yes, BREATHE is still working for me. And this project is helping me. March I journaled my feelings about the pandemic and this month I am doing a Meditative Art class each day as my daily practice to de-stress. How is your album coming along generally? I am using the Journal and it is working for me, in past years I gave up at March this year I can really see myself completing the project using the journal. Did you start the April prompt? How are you documenting it? I did start the APRIL prompt. I am using Ali's class from 2 years ago so it may be different than this year's prompt. I used post it notes tacked around the house in prominent places to ask questions about my word so my word would be top of mind each day. Any other reflections now that we're 1/4 of the way through this crazy year? I am grateful for this word, because it really has helped me put self-care first and its perfect for this unusual time.

This is my first year for the OLW project. I need some inspiration. I'm in a rut and feel like if I could see a completed album it would help. Is there a way to find Ali's past completed OLW album's on her site. I can't seem to find any. Or if any of you lovely ladies have any you'd like to share, I would appreciate it.

Welcome to June/Mayish One Little Word! Sorry guys, I kinda dropped the ball on this thread last month, we were in the middle of finishing construction on our house and moving, plus the pandemic, and I just completely took the month of May off of this project. I am now getting back on track. I completed the May prompt in the first few days of June (which was perfect because I looked back on photos from the entire month to pull for it). I also filled out the journaling for June but I still want to do a little something else in my album before I'm ready to call the month "done." How has everyone else been doing with their project? How is your word working out for you? Tagging: mom scrappydo allou ScrapbookMyLife tampascrapper teacherlisa quietgirl refugeepea kaybree prettyprettypaper breetheflea Charwee stormsts linhaz anrobe I am going to create a separate post with a few photos of my album to share some of the bits I don't mind sharing publicly.

My album is almost entirely completed so far! I finished the June prompt, but still want to add something to the back of the extra page of journaling/bottom space on the one page. Here are a few photos I wanted to share of pieces of my album. My word for the year is "space." I started the album with a transparency with a wood veneer 2020 embossed white + chipboard on top of a full page photo of myself I took in January. For the February prompt, I created a flip out page to hold my vision board and collaged on the front, inside and back with items cut from magazines + some word phrase stickers from my scrapbook stash. Here is the back of my vision board and the front of March. I didn't purchase the dividers from AE this year and instead I am using the calendar pages from my GTBW as my dividers. I am just waiting until after the month to add them in. I am decorating the back of my dividers with a variety of techniques just depending on what feels right that month. In march I used some large stamping to stamp out how I was feeling in March about quarantine related to my word. I did not do well on my daily practice because it got thrown off by quarantine, but I still managed to fit some days in. My goal was going for a daily walk. For May I couldn't narrow it down to 8 photos so I ended up picking 12 and included this cover page with some quotes. I added a word phrase sticker from the mini kit + KP label sticker on each photo to write out "Space looks like" I also added the word veneer cameras on some of the photos (the kit only came with 8 and I did 12 photos). This is my last page of photos and the beginning of June. This is actually a calendar page from the wrong year, I'll swap it out with the right one after this month but I just wanted it in as a place holder for my photo to cover my June journaling.

I got my May prompt finally done. I really struggled with it since I hadn't taken any photos for it. I ended up using a nature photo I had and just journaled on label stickers. Mays prompt just wasn't my favorite, at all.
I am ready for June. I plan on working on it this weekend. So far I have completed every month. My word is 'release' and I haven't really had any big relevations about it till now....my youngest son is walking away from his dream school to enlist (also another dream, but I really thought he'd love school and never pursue the army). So I am really starting to focus on rleleasing - my son to follow his heart, my plans for what I thought he would be doing, etc.

So I wasn’t feeling the July prompt at all. But I did the everyday explorer positivity passport challenge for July. My word is Focus so this was perfect to focus on one good thing everyday. Anyway so I’m using one of the small story kit envelopes and punching holes in it to add to my OLW album and I’m putting the positivity passport in there for my July prompt. I loved it so much I may do this every July.
I wasn’t feeling the vision board prompt earlier this year either (I never really like that one) so instead I took my pictures from Ali’s pieces of me self portrait adventure and used those for my prompt along with some journaling.
I’m all caught up til August. I don’t love this prompt either. We’ll see if something else inspires me to fill this month.

I am caught up to August. I haven't even looked at the assignment yet. Wasn't a huge fan of my mixed media cards I made, but in the end, it worked out and I was able to journal on another page and make something from it all.
My word is serving me well this year. It's been a good one.

I'm all caught up on my album also, I've actually done really well in keeping up with it this year! But not so well at keeping up with this thread... I really like how my July prompt turned out. I've also really put some creative energy into just playing with the backs of the dividers I'm using in my album. The result is I really love how my album is coming out, rather than it just being a place to store the prompts as I check them off my list of things to do. I enjoy flipping through it and looking at the prompts I've completed and everything I've added. My favorite is this one I did for June: https://www.instagram.com/p/CDCW9CzgJPM I did the creative part of the August prompt already but just left space to fill in my journaling. I need to think about what I want to write a bit. The concept isn't something I would typically do, but I feel like that is good because it's pushing me to think a bit more. I opened a word document on my computer and numbered a list with the prompt and hopefully things will come to me during the month and I can fill them in.
