This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

sleepingbooty, I am so sorry about your mother's cat. You guys have not had a great February. I hope that March is a much better month. You are so sweet to help your mother in the middle of the night. What would she do without you? Hugs to you both! I am looking forward to a March that is not as hectic in the scrapping hobby as February. I need to spend some time organizing and putting all the things I dragged out, back away. This room is a total disaster. I did have a lot of fun scrapping though! I hope all our Pokeys are finally well as it tries to be a little Spring-like. Well, less snow storms and a little more sun is what March is like here.

I'm hoping to be a bit more active this month... ((((Hugs))) sleepingbootyThanks for keeping us all on track nyleneBusy weekend so far here: DD13 had her International Dinner for Girl Scouts on Friday night and then Thinking Day on Saturday morning. Then she was asked to fill in at a cookie booth for a sister troop (she's not selling cookies herself this year). Then last night we drove about an hour for a stargazing event at a state park and got to see wild cracker horses and wild scrub cattle on our way into the park.

Linda, it probably felt good to get out in the open air last night after being cooped up scanning, scanning, scanning. How is your sale going? BTW, I guess I lied a few minutes ago......it's snowing like crazy. Maybe "in like a lion" will mean it goes "out like a lamb."

nylene Linda Thank you for your kind words. I'm hoping for better things ahead for March, especially for my mother. It felt good to turn over the February leaf and start afresh. I'm going to tie some nylon string to one of Pucci's favourite ball toys to hang from a branch of the tree that overlooks her grave. I think it'll help my mother remember the good times when she sees that side of the garden. Linda Sounds like a busy weekend! What's a Thinking Day if you don't mind me asking? I love that you went stargazing as a family (so jealous as it's still far too cold here for such outings) and saw wild animals. Sounds dreamy to me! What are the temperatures like in your corner of Florida right now? nylene Winter did not like hearing you talk of imminent spring. Punishment: more snow! Will you be joining the online crop next weekend or are you going to take a proper breather at first? When do you hope to see the end of snowy days in your nook of the world?

Happy Sunday, Pokeys. I just came up for air after starting a deep[er] clean of the bedroom. Have only one corner cleared out and already have a big black bag of garbage to head to the dumpster. I am nowhere near finished in there. Doesn't help that I used that corner as a dumping ground when I was moving out the old computer and office stuff to make room for the new, or for overflow scrappy supplies from in here. The good(?) news is that I found the chicken wire stencil I looked [ EVERYWHERE] for last week! Hopefully it won't hide itself again before the next time--if EVER--I make another chicken page ...
Not nearly finished, but it feels MUCH better to walk in there now. I think my motto is "Better than it was..."
Sounds like a wonderfully busy weekend, Linda , and I bet it was nice to get outside after all your hard work scanning. And it sounds like adventures that would be fun to photograph and scrap! Hoping you can play along more this month with the challenges. We have missed you!
Such a sweet idea about the kitty's toy, sleepingbooty . Your mum definitely did not need THAT this month after being so sick herself! Hoping YOU are feeling better this evening. Often it is the case that when you have come through a really stressful time that your body suddenly declares it is time for a vacation and sends itself off to bed? Get some rest. Recover quickly.
Are you playing Calvinball, justjac ? Have you seen maribeth there? I didn't do alot on LOAD, but I am feeling a little down that Scrap Happy kept Calvinball on facebook instead of moving it to their new Board. A case of FOMO, I guess... Hopefully if you ARE playing over there, you will be able to share here, too. Or are you feeling a scrappy hangover like nylene ? Planning a little breather?

I love that you went stargazing as a family (so jealous as it's still far too cold here for such outings) and saw wild animals. Sounds dreamy to me! What are the temperatures like in your corner of Florida right now? Thinking Day is a Girl Scout holiday celebrating Girl Scouts and Girl Guides around the world. In our area, we traditionally each troop (or in DD's case since she's a lone Scout she does her own) picks a country to learn about and then sets up a display at the event to share what they learnt. It was pretty chilly last night stargazing - temperatures in the low 40s (4-5 C.) and we've had freeze warning overnight the past few nights. Currently 69 and sunny (midafternoon) today Linda, it probably felt good to get out in the open air last night after being cooped up scanning, scanning, scanning. How is your sale going? I haven't heard much updates on the estate sale - my sister is the contact person - but the guy said it went well - busy all day and sold a ton of stuff - today was clean-up day and the estate sales place invited people to stop by between 11 and 2 to pick through leftovers at low low prices. Hoping for an update this evening. sorry about all the snow. Sounds like a wonderfully busy weekend, Linda , and I bet it was nice to get outside after all your hard work scanning. And it sounds like adventures that would be fun to photograph and scrap! Hoping you can play along more this month with the challenges. We have missed you! Thank you -I've missed scrapping. I still have scanning to do but it's just the awkward stuff (thick or big or fragile), the postcards, and the 40+ photo albums left now. Finished up the last (I think) box of papers today.

nylene Winter did not like hearing you talk of imminent spring. Punishment: more snow! Will you be joining the online crop next weekend or are you going to take a proper breather at first? When do you hope to see the end of snowy days in your nook of the world? sleepingbooty , we have been known to have a small snowstorm on June 5th. Most of the time we get a few storms in March and April but they don't usually stick. It has been snowing all day and it's beginning to pile up. The roads seem to be melting for now, but it will be icy and snowy once the sun goes down. I hope you are feeling better today. Hang in there now that your scrappy mojo has returned. grammadee , I thought the Mega Crop was another face-to-face crop. If it's mostly online, I should be able to join on Friday and Saturday. It sounds like fun. My biggest preparation will be finding space on a table to work. This room is atrocious. I wouldn't let anyone in this room right now. It looks like a paper explosion! Linda , I'm glad the sale went well. I hope the last few things all sell today.

If it's mostly online, I should be able to join on Friday and Saturday. It sounds like fun. My biggest preparation will be finding space on a table to work. This room is atrocious. I wouldn't let anyone in this room right now. It looks like a paper explosion! Yes! The MEGA crop will be on line on the General Scrapbook board here. sleepingbooty has posted a prep thread, and there will be a CROP thread, with lots of creating and sharing and chatting on line over the three days. There will be daily themes and challenges, but people tend to scrap what they want to scrap. Those Peas who are prepping are getting together papers & supplies for a specific project, but I think I will be just grabbing the next batch of photos in the photo bin and going from there... On the Saturday, I want to host a Hangout session (video chat), and others may host some as well. To join into one of those, you just need a computer or tablet you can use for something like FaceTime of Skype. You just need the Hangout App. Thankfully, the view I have found of my scraproom from my ipad is not too horrendous. My head fills most of the screen if that is not too terrifying to look at . In the ones i have been part of, we just scrapped and chatted, sometimes asked opinions on what products to use, and showed each other what we had created. LisaDV , msliz , joyfulnana and justjac have led or taken part in some as well, as well as several other Peas. It was very relaxing and fun, and a GREAT way to "meet" Peas "in person". But you definitely do NOT have to be part of the video chat to be part of the crop. And anything you create on those days and share over the next couple of days afterward is worth DOUBLE POINTS for the teams.

Happy March pokey's! So happy that Spring seems to be here. 60's all the coming week and this past weekend has been beautiful. I've spent lots of time out running around, getting new house plants and potting them. As well as spring cleaning. nylene I'm sorry you are getting snow! 2 years ago we had a small amount of snow on April 1st AND the 15th! I hope we are done with snow and cold now. I'm so excited for the Mega Crop! I'm not going to be around as much as I'd hoped. Rudy wants to have a sleep over here on Saturday. But I'm kicking him out by noon! I really hope to take part in some cyber cropping too. That was fun!

nylene, I only got the one LO done at the crop. I did do a few card that wa from a kit from Scrapbook Generation. I have hoped to take a photo of those and post but haven't had the time. grammadee, Work has been quite buy and we have lots of flu!! Thankfully, they got a few travel nurse to fill in some of the vacant spots till we can get people trained. One traveler ended up not working out. She was difficult to deal with and our manager decided her attitude towards everyone wasn't good and cancelled her contract. I hope the flu start to get less and less soon. kellyr21, I love your crocheting! I like the color you picked too. I have been taking time to learn stitches and how to read patterns. I keep watching youtube videos and have a few projects in mind. I did start crocheting a blue bird from a class I purchased a few years ago. I was confused with crocheting in the round with the magic circle. I have figured it out finally and looking forward to making cute animals. I even found a pug to crochet on youtube! sleepingbooty, I am sorry to hear of your Mom's kitty. It is never easy losing a pet. For some reason, certain key aren't wanting to work on my keyboard making it hard to type without typos. My laptop a little over 2 years old and afraid it may be out of warranty. I may need to see about getting this fixed! I have been busy working and they have me working a crazy schedule currently. I can't seem to get enough sleep or get things I need to get done. I really hope that the weather starts getting better so I can get out ride my bike! It will be exciting my hands not going to sleep during my ride! I am at the coffee shop and they are about to close. I hope everyone has a good week!

Happy March everyone! Glad to hear of everyone's updates. Sorry your work has you so busy knutschen . Nurses are always in short supply. My hospital is also in an overflow state right now. There has been some flu, but not overly so this year. It's just the aging population. Considering how differently our health care systems work, I'd bet you money our hospitals are identical in politics and challenges. joyfulnana , I'm jealous of your weather! We hit 5 degrees today (that's about 42?) and we were thrilled! One more time, I'm going to pitifully bleat "but I can't come to the Mega Crop!" and look for all your sympathy I am totally bummed. grammadee , I hear you on collecting corners. Stuff that you should have thrown out right away, you hold onto for several months (?years) until you can accept that it has no value! We have 2 dead laptops in our bedroom. Under a pile of 6 tutus (!). Our house organization and cleanliness has taken a drastic turn for the worse in the past 16 months. The reason? The gym! Apparently, that was our cleaning/organizing time, Or rather, the amount of time I'm willing to dedicate to unpleasant tasks in a day Linda - glad you can see the light at the end of your scanning tunnel!

@knutshen I'm sorry your job is so busy! I'm not a nurse but my job is busy too and I'm over it lol. kitbop not to rub it in - but 60's (15 for you?) here all week and lots of sunshine! It's definitely helped my mood to see the sun again. This winter was the worst I can remember in a long while of no sunshine. I'm sorry you can't make the megacrop. That is a bummer! grammadee I have dumping corners too. I think it's just a bigger version of a junk drawer lol. I'm hoping to jump in on the video crop Saturday. It would be pretty cool if there were several going on all weekend. I'm not certain yet what my weekend looks like or I would host one. I maybe able to swing one late Sunday afternoon. linda you have made pretty short work of all that scanning! I know it probably didn't feel that way to you, but bravo for getting it done! I hope you get to scrap a lot this month. I hope everyone is having a great start to the month!

Happy March, Pokeys.
Thanks for the new thread, nylene . Our March was in like a lamb so I hope it doesn't reverse the saying. But Feb 29th was a lion, so maybe the weather just forgot to take leap year into account. Linda , I love the things the GS do and learn. It's so great you are such an integral part of that. Hope the estate sale went really well and hugs. I've been impressed by all your scanning and getting it done attitude. Yay you! That's a sweet gesture with the cat toy, sleepingbooty . I hope your mom will take comfort in the good times. grammadee , glad you found your stencil but just the thought of chickens makes me sad. I was (am still) hoping to get some this year, but it'll have to wait until later. DH told me yesterday to let him know what I want as he and DS will build it. If I don't get him something, he'll choose a design. YIKES. I'll only have 3 girls, so I want it to be mobile. joyfulnana , I'd be jealous of that 60s weather but I bet your summer is also way hotter and more humid, so I'll be happy that it'll be 48F today. Does Rudy have special plans for your sleepover? knutschen , glad you have a little help at work, hopefully the new staff will be trained and up and running soon and the flu will slow down so you can take a breather. Yikes to the keyboard issues, hope it's an easy fix. kitbop , I'm sorry you can't go to the megacrop. I'll be at the farm this weekend and may pop in for some of the crop, but I'm going to have a breather and don't want to commit to anything. I've been having a hard time motivating myself over the last few weeks (really since Thanksgiving). I'm hoping I can come back after some down time with a better go get it done attitude. My to do list seems to grow and grow and my desire to do these items tends to get less and less.
DH's boss said he was making people nervous with his constant coughing. When he gets a cold/flu, he tends to get viral induced asthma or bronchitis or both and has an extremely hard time getting rid of it. One of the helps is cough syrup with codeine, a zpac and steroids. In combination. Well this year, nobody is prescribing codeine due to the issues. However, DH doesn't have a dependency, except he really needs it when his lungs get like this - once a year or every other year, definitely not addiction levels. The work nurse told him to work from home for the rest of the week and call his doctor to get the cough syrup with codeine. So DH will be home for the rest of the week.
Okay, I guess I should get off and try to at least get something done - bills, laundry, and some pantry reoganization or on the schedule today and tomorrow. I need to get my freezers gone through and reorganized too but that will have to wait until next week.

LisaDV - thank you - DD13 isn't in a Girl Scout troop any longer so I have to be involved in order to give her the opportunity to stay involved. It was an important part of my teen years so I want to give her those experiences also. I think part of my get-it-done attitude stems from the fact mum always planned to digitise and organise her photos and slides once she retired but she never ended up getting around to it. Plus I don't cope well with chaos - so organising it all helps tame the chaos. And of course I feel an obligation to my sister to get it online so she can see it also - especially since she's handling the bulk of the work for the estate otherwise. Estate sale seems to have gone well - we're only getting about $500 from it but the savings of time/energy/money by having someone else deal with ALL the stuff is priceless. It does give me more motivation to have LESS stuff myself. LisaDV - I hope your DH feels better and the cough goes away. Does he have an inhaler? I find that helps me a bit (I have similar issues). I can see how coughing can make people nervous though at the moment. joyfulnana - glad you've got sun and warmer weather kitbop - I'm sorry you're missing the megacrop - we'll just have to plan another one you can make knutschen - good luck with the laptop - I have a sticky 'd' key on my keyboard and just that drives me nuts typing. Sorry work is so busy grammadee - I'm not sure I'm techy enough to figure out hangouts but I'll join the crop at least nylene - hopefully the snow wasn't too bad

Hello, everyone. The snow has melted off on the south side, but our north lawn is still covered. It is sunny today but still pretty cold. I will be glad when it warms up. knutschen , my friend is a nurse too and one fourth of their staff left when they moved to the new part of the hospital. She is close to retirement so has stayed, but the workload has doubled and they have way less help. It must be a problem everywhere. I hope they get the new help trained. sleepingbooty , how is your mother doing? I hope hanging a toy in the tree brings her good memories. Please take care of yourself. I worry about those living close to the explosion of Coronavirus. grammadee , I hope to check in some for the Mega Crop. I am putting together some kits for the weekend. I haven't made kits before. How much do you complete the layout? I have drawn up a sketch (or find one) and add possible papers. The other thing I have done is spend yesterday making paper piecings that can go with the layouts. I could sit and paper piece forever and it's very relaxing. I figure if they are made, I will use them sometime on one of my layouts or cards. I think I need a class on how to make up a kit. LisaDV , I am so sorry about your husband's illness not going away. He has really had a long bout of it. Our office used to call in cough syrup with codeine all the time. Our Dr. thought every household needs a bottle on hand. Of course that would never fly now, but he said he didn't know any addicts who got hooked on the nasty tasting cough syrup he prescribed. (He also carefully monitored the amount per family.) It is good medicine when a cough won't go away. Prayers and hugs for both you and your DH. kitbop , I am sorry you are missing the Mega Crop. I had to chuckle at your "home organization" taking a turn for the worst. I can echo that sentiment. I have so many corners that need to be cleaned out and donated. It's a never ending battle. joyfulnana , is this month going to be a crazy at work as February? I hope things settle down and that you get more scrappy time. Spending time with Rudy is also important for both of you. Too soon they grow up and don't have "grandma" time anymore. Linda , I'm glad the sale is over. How much more scanning do you have to do? I hope you have a few minutes to do some scrappy therapy this month too. I just got my GS cookies in the mail from my DGD, Sammie. My DD here in town bought cookies from her neighbor girl, ordered cookies from Sammie, and then her DH came home from work and told her he ordered a couple of cases from Sammie too. When I need a treat, I'm running over to their house! They should have cookies for months! kellyr21 , how is the weather there now? How is the crocheting going? Check out the Crafts thread here. There is a video of a young boy who is a great crocheter. I can't seem to link it so it works, but it's in NSBR and is on the first page of March Crafts thread. Waving to msliz , justjac , @elaynef, patin , woodysbetty , maribeth , and any others I have missed. Have a wonderful March!

Scanning...seems never ending...40+ photo albums, several yearbooks, six more boxes of papers, 2 baby books, another stack of letters...but my hard drive is full so I'm taking a break from scanning while I figure out my next step - cheapest would be getting a bigger external drive, most expensive would be buying a new computer, upgrading this computer is the middle ground. I would LOVE a new computer - this one was bought refurbished 10 years ago - but I'm not sure yet if that's the more sensible option or not. DD13 didn't sell cookies this year (except for one cookie booth she did as a favour for a GS troop whose girls were sick)

Well this year, nobody is prescribing codeine due to the issues.
My Mom uses tylenol #3 - half a tablet - to control her cough when it flares. She has a really awful chronic cough (non smoker). But yes, she too is finding it harder to get them from her physician. I had a bottle of PURE CODEINE syrup that was prescribed to my 2 year old daughter when she suffered some burns. We barely used it...and oh boy was my mom happy to take ownership of that bottle - she used it for over a year, and was so happy to not have to take the additional drugs in a cough syrup or tylenol, just the cough reducing codeine. It takes so little! I am also prone to a prolonged cough when I get a bad virus. My doctor calls it RAD, and gives me a puffer that settles it down quickly. Estate sale seems to have gone well - we're only getting about $500 from it but the savings of time/energy/money by having someone else deal with ALL the stuff is priceless. It does give me more motivation to have LESS stuff myself. Absolutely priceless. My Aunt's garage is still full of crap from my Nana's apartment. Not valuable. Not even sentimental (no one in the family wants it). But she won't part with it. My Uncle wants to rent a huge trash bin...

Although today it really set him to coughing after he had it. the savings of time/energy/money by having someone else deal with ALL the stuff is priceless. It does give me more motivation to have LESS stuff myself. Here, Here. Right now the kids are still home, but I see us purging as they move out. nylene , I hope you get some warm weather this week. We talked to a farm neighbor earlier and he said it was suppose to be 50s there this weekend. I chose a good weekend to go. There is still snow on the ground there though. Not looking forward to the muddy mess that the melting will give me.

Hey everyone. grammadee I'm not doing Calvinball. The freewheeling chaos of it was always more your style than mine (although I do see updates on my Facebook). I had a really productive February and it's going to take hours to count up my points. I'm tempted to use the easy-peasy method, but I know with the 29-4-29 challenges I got quite a few points per page. I have tallied three pages. I have maybe 30 left to go. I'm also hoping to try a thirty day yoga challenge. My studio that I go to about 8 times a month is having a challenge to try and go 26 times in a month. I'm a little apprehensive, but I'm trying it anyway. That will mean less crafty time for me. The weather is quite nice here (for us). Just below freezing and sunny. We had some beautiful fluffy snow flakes (not the blizzard kind) this morning. We may get spring-like days but it's not truly spring until well into April and no flowers outside until Mother's Day or later. My neck is 97% better. The doctor gave me muscle relaxants and pain killers and that combined with my heating pad took care of it.

Good Wednesday evening, Pokeys. Thanks for all your good wishes about my doctor appointment, but it really went nowhere. Yesterday my personal MD did not seem to have alot of confidence in this surgeon, and today I found out the surgeon does not have privileges in any of the Edmonton hospitals (just a local one). Any other doctor I have spoken to has said that I need to be in a bigger hospital for any surgery b/c of possible complications. My MD has made a second appointment with the surgeon I saw in in Edmonton in June, but I think she would prefer to wait until all Hell breaks loose before she decides to cut me open... kitbop, can you adopt me for a month or two and maybe I can get my surgery done on YOUR surgical floor where even the complicated cases work out well? Glad your neck is feeling better, justjac. I'll bet that not having to produce a page every evening will probably help it, too. I have not done much crafting so far this month except for one card which I have to remember to share in the sharing thread. I spent a few hours sorting Christmas dies that don't fit into my die cabinet. Somewhere I have lost a set of Spellbinders star nesting dies. (Hence the reason for the sorting session: why else would I spend time organizing???) Will have to text my niece to see if maybe I lent that set to her. She kind of uses my scraproom as a lending library, but with my memory I think I need to set up some kind of recording system so I know which dies she has. But I hope to do some scrapping tomorrow, and more over the weekend. Yesterday I narrowed my sketch search to 3 sketches, and prepped some cs to work with at least one of them, and today I did some die cutting pieces I will need. Tomorrow, I will pull out the sets of photos I hope to scrap over the weekend--get ready to see all hockey all the time--and sort of kit up the supplies I might be able to use with them. nylene, you asked about kitting for a weekend crop, and that is about all I do. Find the photos. Find the papers. Find a bunch of stickers &/or other embellishments that might work, and put them all together... If I am going to use my Silhouette, I might pre cut the titles or any images I could use on my pages. Then when I am scrapping, it is just a matter of Grab; Glue; Go! I am going to post an invitation to Hangout on Saturday on the General Scrapbooking board with links to it on the NSBR, Challenges, and Cardmaking boards. Anyone want to do a trial session with me before then so I don't flub it up on Saturday?

Happy March and hope it has been nice so far. We are warming up and I am glad about that. I have been busy organizing my various business and craft ideas. Over the years, it was hard to plan when my body issues were constant interruptions. It was hard to get much done. But now, I have had time to dream and plan and it feels so good. I will keep ya posted when I get stuff in order. I did order some pp for Mother's Day cards. I got a Kaisercraft paper kit and some individual sheets of paper from Simple Stories "Vintage Garden District Collection." So pretty! nylene- Thanks for keeping us going! Hugs to ya! Yes, the weather is good and I have been able to take my longer walks again. My crocheting is coming along. I think I am almost finished! I think 5 or 6 more rows. I have to see that young kid you mentioned. That sounds cool. grammadee- Hang in there Baby! I am praying for you and hope the drs can get it figured out for you. Keep taking care of yourself and having fun! Hugs! LisaDV- I hope your dh gets lots of rest while he is home. My hubby is much better but still not 100%. So frustrating for him! knutschen- Great, you are crocheting, too. It is cool once you figure out how to do it. I hope to be finished soon. It took forever for me to get to this point. If I had spent more time with it, I guess I would be wearing it by now! LOL! I hope you keep us posted on your project, if you start one. Waving hi to you all and check back later!

can you adopt me for a month or two and maybe I can get my surgery done on YOUR surgical floor where even the complicated cases work out well? It is a definite perk of my job that I know which surgeons are good, and which to stay away from! When my Mom had her surgery, I was subtly (or not so subtly) asking probing questions of the nurses about her doctor and what they thought of him. The staff know Tonight I'm shopping with DD for dance competition items (tights. bobby pins. hairnets. mascara. hairspray. black ballet shoes. pink ballet shoes.) and food to pack for our weekend. We will eat out breakfast and lunch, but supper we'll be at the venue and not wanting to leave, so we're packing a cooler and subs and stuff. And I have to gym, and pack, and laundry, and... not much scrapping in my near future!

so...my mum's house is officially on the market...part of me feels sad about that. Not so much the house itself - my parents bought it the week after I left for college so it's not my childhood home - but the fact it's my last tie to the area. DH and I no longer have any friends or family there or really any excuse to go visit other than we love the island. It's the closest thing either of us had to a hometown and I think we both saw it as coming home when we would go back to visit mum.
And I feel a bit sad and resentful that we didn't go back often...it was a long drive (2 days each way) and we didn't always have the money and family vacations were just not a priority for DH ...plus his family was here, it was just mine that was there.

(((((Hugs))))), Linda . Take some time to feel your grief about this. That is a long way to drive with a family, and certainly couldn't be done on a weekend. Sounds like an exciting weekend ahead, kitbop . I miss the tournament weekends with the kids: so much excitement and vitality, and some of my favourite times with the kids were drives to and from their events, just talking in the car. I don't know how the dance parents are, but some of my closest friendships back then were the other hockey parents, and I know my dd and ddil's seem to be having the same experience. Lots of bonding in all that hanging around in the arena! Enjoy the warm temps, joyfulnana and kellyr21 . Spring is a LONG way away for us northerners. Melting today--just above freezing, but we still have a couple of feet of snow in our yard, and there is supposed to be a bunch of new white stuff over the weekend. Yesterday my appointment ended early and I had hoped to make a loop to catch the LSS to pick up the products they had preordered for me plus their February kit, but just as I was getting onto the highway there was a big snow squall, reduced visibility, a bit of drifting, so I decided to just head home instead of going the long way around. I spent today getting ready for the MEGAcrop tomorrow. Cut (with Silhouette and dies) and assembled a couple of things. Found cs and papers that went with my photos. I have always loved your paper piecing, nylene , but always find it a challenge to assemble even simple shapes. What glue to you use to attach the layers? Kitting up pages is hard for me. Once I have the idea and the supplies I almost have to have the page completely assembled before I know what it will look like. And by then, I may as well finish it. But I stuck to collecting stuff and preparing today. No shortage of photos: I have pic's from last fall all the way to last week of the kids playing hockey.

I use a Zig glue pen for assembling my paper piecings. I have tried several other methods, but always end up going back to the Zig. For letters that are layered, I usually use my Xyron little X. But anything really small I use Zig pens. I have made a handful of pieces this week. It was so fast doing the 30 min. challenge when I already had pieces made so I hope these pages go together quickly too.

Hey all and happy Friday! Wishing you all a wonderful day and weekend. I picked up my glasses and I am adjusting. They are the bifocals with the line. I'm not sure if I like these but I think it will take a little practice. I am looking at the computer now and it is fuzzy. When I hold my head back then I have clear vision. But who wants to go around with their head back to see up close??? LOL! grammadee- Hope you are having fun at the Megacrop! Enjoy! nylene- Thanks for telling me about that boy who crochets video. OMG, he is AMAZING and an inspiration!

kellyr21, I thought you would enjoy that. He is definitely an inspiration. grammadee, if they decide to take your GB out, will they do it laproscopically? The surgery to remove it the other way is a huge surgery. I had had other abdominal surgeries, but they were before they began putting mesh in. I guess the mesh can cause it to need the big surgery. I hope they can get together and decide on something that's not too radical for you. I have been playing along with the MEGA Crop and want to take my 4 pts for the Pokey Pea Challenge. So I will post 4 of my projects here: I have some other kits made up and hope to get to them later today. kitbop, it was fun to see your face on the Mega thread. How is the dance competition going? I hope she does well. Linda, I am enjoying your pages. You must be enjoying making them too after being away from it for a month. Best wishes on the sale of your mom's home. It was hard to sell our childhood home. It was such a teeny house, with a big family in it and as we were cleaning it out we wondered how our parents managed in such a small space. Then a little couple came to look at it and oohed and aahed over how big and beautiful it was. Instantly we were ready to practically give it to them. We felt that mom and dad would be so pleased. I hope you have a similar experience. It helps in letting it go. Have a great weekend, everyone.

The freewheeling chaos of it was always more your style than mine This tickled me so much. I really do like the freewheeling chaos of it but agree that it is too much. I feel the challenges here really mimic CB so much and I just can't produce at that level all the time without burnout. It is fun a couple of times a year though. Glad your neck is doing better. Did you keep the nice weather for the weekend and enjoy it? I'm sorry that you won't be able to get resolution soon with your gall bladder, grammadee. I hope that when you do have to go for surgery you find the best doctor and hospital to give you the care you will need. How's the dance competition going, kitbop? Linda, hugs. I totally get where you are coming from. We need to see a picture of you with your new glasses, kellyr21! I hope you can adjust to the bifocals quickly. nylene, your pages are always fantastic, but I'm really loving your baby grand daughter pages this month. I've had a fairly relaxing weekend. Although I really should have lugged my desktop. I have so many issues with the tiny laptop computer. I'm having difficulty these days with my 24" monitor and to go to a 13", well it's hard. I think I'm going to go home tomorrow. I scheduled myself gone until Tuesday but I will need a day to just get back in the right mindset and I miss my babies that aren't babies. DS has been cooking scrumptious food since I've been gone. DH is hit or miss in food quality, so DS just decided to take it upon himself to cook this time. I'm going to take the rugs in this morning to the laundry, as I dislike putting them in my own washer. I know, I'm weird. A furniture store is going out of business and I want to stop by their store today too. Now that I know my living room color, I'm hoping to find a set for that room. We've been sitting in lawn chairs since moving in. Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday.
