But, hey, he was an old. So, according to Trump and #ReopenAmerica folks, you know, sacrifices like this will be necessary to get the market back up!?

Condolences to his family and loved ones. My daughter just told me. He died in Florida. A state with a huge elderly population and they just closed the last beaches on Sunday.

Try looking into a CSA for the summer Could only find one in my area, and they’re not taking new custo Our CSA decided not to do it this summer. I am sad. huh My CSA said they are looking into adding more things to buy extra, they already had milk & eggs so I guess maybe meat. They didn’t say. But they outlined their additional procedures and informed us that all their employees have paid sick leave and will be required to use it if needed. They also added to their deliver area.

HOLY SH!T!!! How did I not know that more than half the cases of COVID19 are in New York? YIKES.
Living right next door. Were I able to walk, I could walk on water a mile to Staten Island which is part of NYC. Someone posted we are second in deadly numbers! we are even though we are not testing at nearly the rate NY is which means we have more of it then we know

Many reasons...they decided before all this happened. WAY before. They are the only ones here where you pick your own items. Most places you show up and are handed a box or basket. They have bigger orders and can bring in more money via local grocery stores and a big farmer's market. Plus some members were assholes..long story short..they caught a few stealing items.

I agree with that comment about Japan. They are very much a "WE" society, and wearing mask when sick is a normal thing for them. I hope we (the U.S.) have almost reached that peak and the curve will start trending to the right.

So we don't even know what the real numbers are yet. These are just the folks that had cause (and access) to take a test. I can't imagine we are any where near the peak.

I just don't know where to put this, so here it is.......... White House preparing to promote malaria drugs on online platform to combat coronavirus: report BY ZACK BUDRYK - 03/24/20 07:54 PM EDT The White House is reportedly planning to promote the use of two malaria drugs frequently touted by President Trump as a potential treatment for coronavirus despite their unproven benefits, using a platform built by the tech firm Oracle. The platform is slated to be used to collect information about off-label uses of the two drugs, chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine, the New York Times reported on Tuesday. The FDA is still reviewing both drugs’ effectiveness as a coronavirus treatment, and top public health officials have warned against jumping to conclusions on their effects. Health and Human Services agencies such as the FDA and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services are part of the Oracle efforts, as is the president’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, the Times reported, citing two senior administration officials, who said the platform could be used to gather data from doctors who prescribe the drugs and track symptoms in patients. Dr. David B. Agus, a professor of medicine and engineering at the University of Southern California, is also reported to be working with the White House and Oracle, and has repeatedly promoted the use of the drugs against the virus, saying on television recently “the earlier you use them, the better.” Health officials within the administration have reportedly expressed dismay about Trump’s promotion of bypassing standard clinical trials for the drugs as a coronavirus remedy. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases head Anthony Fauci met Tuesday afternoon with Deborah Birx, the White House’s coronavirus coordinator, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Robert Redfield and FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn to discuss concerns with the plan and Chinese data indicating they are ineffective, the Times reported. ** thehill.com/policy/healthcare/489356-white-house-preparing-to-promote-malaria-drugs-on-online-platform-to-combatI feel so bad for those who need to drugs for their conditions today, who will not be able to get them now. This is most Jared' fault! We will never be able to beat these ignorant morons!

Go get them Moscow Mitch!! Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D) said someone in the state tested positive for COVID-19 after attending a “coronavirus party.”“We have a positive test from someone who attended a coronavirus party,” Beshear said at a press conference Tuesday. “We ought to be much better than that.” Beshear added that the gathering consisted of a “group of young adults in their 20s who I guess were thinking they were invincible” and warned that while younger people may not feel serious symptoms if they contract the virus, they could spread the illness to more susceptible populations. “For those folks who thought, ‘We’d be all right if we got it,’ what about everybody else you've seen?” he asked. “We need everybody doing the right thing.”Beshear said there are now 163 confirmed coronavirus cases in the Bluegrass State. There have been 39 new cases in the state in the past day. thehill.com/homenews/state-watch/489354-kentucky-governor-says-person-tested-positive-for-virus-after-attending

One of the welcome, but unexpected side effects of the trump virus is that I haven't had one telephone solicitor call in a week. They must be sheltering in place and not working.

www.washingtonpost.com/religion/2020/03/23/liberty-university-jerry-falwell-lynchburg-coronavirus/"Jerry Falwell, Jr. is about to make a terrible mistake. It’s time for the Liberty University Board to stop him and shut the campus down before it's too late. Although Virginia Governor Ralph Northam’s ban on gatherings of more than 100 people forced Falwell to cancel residential classes at Liberty University, the campus remains open, with students set to return to dorms early next week either to live out the semester or to clean out their rooms. “As you may know,” a notice on the Liberty website states, “the University has decided to move most classes to a digital format and to allow students the choice to return to campus after Spring Break or stay home and complete their classes remotely.” This decision runs contrary to the three other residential schools in our area who have closed their dorms, allowing only those with nowhere else to go to remain. Faculty and staff are also required to report, despite the fact that telecommuting options are readily available. As a Liberty faculty member, I have been told that my colleagues and I must conduct our classes from our offices, even though that instruction is now being delivered virtually. We are also expected to hold office hours and welcome students for face-to-face interaction... “It’s fortunate that this disease, this flu, doesn’t have a high mortality rate for young people, because they’re the ones that are not worried about it,” he said. “And I’m not worried about it.” He also blamed the media for overhyping the threat of COVID-19. “They are willing to destroy the economy just to hurt Trump,” Falwell said. Falwell’s lack of concern does nothing to mitigate these students likely becoming vectors of the pathogen roaming around Liberty’s campus and the Lynchburg community, interacting with professors and staff and other townspeople. A cross sits at the Jerry Falwell Memorial at Liberty University on July 19, 2019 in Lynchburg, Virginia. Falwell founded Liberty University in 1971. (Marlena Sloss/The Washington Post) A cross sits at the Jerry Falwell Memorial at Liberty University on July 19, 2019 in Lynchburg, Virginia. Falwell founded Liberty University in 1971. (Marlena Sloss/The Washington Post) I have no animus toward Jerry Falwell Jr. He simply should not have a monopoly on this decision. I think he is dangerously wrong here and seems unable or unwilling to recognize it. For that reason, the decision must be taken out of his hands. I speak up for his benefit as well, since his current plan is courting a disaster for which he would be primarily to blame."

Russia’s President Vladimir Putin took no chances this week when he visited coronavirus patients in a Moscow hospital, sporting a full hazmat suit and breathing mask to protect himself from the bug. Video showed Putin getting suited up Tuesday in bright yellow hazmat gear by doctors at a Kommunarka infectious diseases hospital. He then received help putting on a breathing mask, gloves and plastic coverings for his feet at the hospital, which currently has over 400 patients being treated for the virus, according to ABC News. The Kremlin said Putin is expected to address the Russian people Wednesday afternoon in a televised speech about the reported rise in COVID-19 cases. The number of recorded coronavirus cases in Russia reached 658 on Wednesday, a day after the mayor of Moscow acknowledged that the actual tally is likely higher than the official count. nypost.com/2020/03/25/vladimir-putin-wears-hazmat-suit-to-visit-coronavirus-patients-in-russia/

Here in Finland we are getting new restrictions. All restaurants and bars will be closed, only takeout is allowed. I was hoping for this, it has seemed pointless to stay home when others are singing karaoke at the bar. They will also probably isolate the capital area. Most cases are here and they are hoping to save resources elsewhere. I am good with that decision, although it makes me little nervous. I live in the capital, but my parents and other family are elsewhere. I'm worried that something happens to them and I'm stuck here. But it is too late to leave now, because I don't want any chance of bringing the virus with me. We have taken more serious approach than Sweden for example and I'm hoping it helps. At least for now it looks good. We are the blue "Suomi" on the scale.

They can play pretend all they want to. Viruses gonna virus. You can't just wish or pray or bully it away.

and NO, we would NEVER see DT within a MILE of an infectious disease hospital. Nothing that would put HIM in jeopardy, ever. Not even for the appearance of compassion.

Zinger unofficial deaths/1MM pop (from worldometer extrapolated by death/1MM pop vs. cases/1MM pop)
China - 2.2 Italy - 112.7 USA - 2.3 Spain - 73 Germany - 2.1 France - 17.2 UK - 6.36 Netherlands - 20.7 S Korea - 2.45 Iran - 24.7
I see worldometer has finally added deaths/1MM pop. So, will stop posting this now.

PS: COVID-19 is no joke, and it doesn’t just affect seniors. 56% of hospitalized patients in New York City are under the age of 50. Everyone, no matter the age, should try not to get it. Wash your hands and stay inside!
