We watched the movie Dark River with Ruth Wilson. I do not recommend this movie. It was sometimes hard to follow and very depressing. The scenery was gorgeous though. We are still enjoying The Undoing on HBO with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant. We keep going back and forth as to who *did it*. Can't wait for The Crown to drop on Sunday on Netflix!! We loved the first season of The Undoing! I wonder how long we’ll have to wait for Season 2? |

We have one more episode of the first season of Alone ~ man what they went through!  |

I spent much of yesterday watching the bodyguard. The tv show not the movie. I know I’m late to the party on that one but holy he!! That was good.

It's HBO that I'm watching on Crave Canada. Episode 6 aired four days ago. I'm not sure where it first aired. EDITED: finaledition and cadoodlebug I have made a huge error!!!!! We have not seen the finale!!!! It was only Episode 5. I was positive it was the final cliffhanger, but no it's not. Yay! One more episode to go. |

It’s a thriller, but a political one. Plus the actor who played rob stark on game of thrones is the lead. (Hot guy with Scottish accent if you’re not a GOT fan). I loved it, really interesting story and takes some turns I was not expecting |

I'm on a huge Ricky Gervais / Stephen Merchant kick !!! The more I watch their shows, the more I think they're both comic geniuses!!!! I'm almost done with BBC "Office", season 2, and don't want it to end. Last week, I finished "Extras"---omg----HILARIOUS!!!  There's ANOTHER hilarious series they did called "Life Is Short"---also brilliant! I just LOVE all the awkward, weird moments in these shows !!! I'm thinking of starting a thread about "Extras"----any other fans here? OMG,
how did I not know about this show before  ?
In between the funny ones, I'm also slowly watching "After Life."
I love how Ricky Gervais can be so funny, but is also a very convincing dramatic actor. To all my fellow Ricky fans - have you watched his stand up special on Netflix * Humanity *. Highly recommend. Also, for fans of The Office , Life On The Road - Netflix. He plays David Brent, his original Office guy. I actually have not seen his original Office series yet. But, wow. Steve Carell nailed it !! It’s the exact same Michael Scott character. Gervais is nothing short of a comedic genius. 😀 |

I just finished "Truth Seekers" on Amazon and loved it. It's a comedy/horror/ghost story from the comic geniuses Nick Frost and Simon Pegg. A terrific script and wonderful acting. It manages to cover several genres with ease.

I watched Bonus Family on Netflix and enjoyed it. It’s Swedish, so there are subtitles, but it is really well done.

We finished the first season of Alone last night. Thanks to the Pea who recommended it. We really liked it but probably will find out which of the 8 seasons are the best and only watch those. It's pretty intense. But we were really happy with the winner ~ liked the 3 final guys.

A few good movies/series this weekend so far.
THE WAR WITH GRANDPA (4 Stars ‘20 Xmas Movie). In most places still in movie theaters but we watched on a streaming device. Very funny; reminded me of Home Alone but with a grandpa and grandson.
TRUTH BE TOLD (4 Stars) 2019 Series with Octavia Spencer & Aaron Paul on AppleTv/AmazP 8E; good mystery with lots of twists; season 2 coming but no date yet.
RUN (4 Stars) 2020 HULU Movie with SaraPaulson. Very different plot.

We watched Molly's Game on Netflix last night. Based on a true story of a ski champion who ran high stakes poker games. Written by Aaron Sorkin, it was entertaining and an interesting insight into the world of the wealthy. Thanks for the recommendation. We loved it! |

Last night DH, DS and I watched the first episode of Alone.  Good Lord, we were scared silly for those guys. I’ve watched all the seasons and they are good! I kind of went on a binge and would watch 3 episodes each night lol. There were definitely more seasons more interesting than others but pretty much enjoyed them all. |

If you are into British mystery/detective series, a new favorite is New Tricks. A new division is formed with a female head and three guys who had been put out to pasure, each one with a quirk or two (or three). It is fun to watch.

I have not, I'll have to check that out as I breezed through Enola Holmes (started it for Henry Cavil, but was pleasantly surprised by a great story and the young actress playing the lead). New Tricks sounds good too. For those of you who are Star Wars fans the new episode of The Mandalorian is A-Ma-Zing and full of spoilers so I'm not going to say any more. |

Started The Flight Attendant on HBO. In the description it is written up as a comedy, drama, thriller. The book is not a comedy, so not sure I’m loving the adaption. Really liked the book so planning to stick it out awhile longer.

I absolutely loved The Queen's Gambit.
We just ordered Hulu. Crazily enough, we discovered that my all time favorite shows are on Hulu. The Mary Tyler Moore show, The Bob Newhart Show, The Honeymooners and The Phil Silvers Show. Woohoo. I haven't looked, but I hope Carol Burnett ( my truly favorite show) is also on there. Now for the reason we ordered Hulu...For $2 per month we can see the brand new Animaniacs. FYI, we're older adults, yet dh and I were giddy about the Animaniacs comeback.
