Last night DH and I finished Guilt on Masterpiece Theater. One season of 4 episodes. It was kind of a dark comedy that got more tense as it went on. In Edinburgh, two brothers accidentally kill a man while driving home from a wedding. After deciding to cover it up, they must dodge encroaching suspicions from the man's family and friends who suspect that his death was not a mistake. This is on my list. I just need to watch as much Star Trek Voyager as possible before it leaves Netflix at the end of the month.

We've been watching The Morning Show on Apple TV. I'm surprised at how good it is -- it's nuanced on a difficult subject. It's about a long time morning show (think The Today Show). The male cohost is fired after a sexual misconduct scandal, and his female partner is left fighting for her job. It stars Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Steve Carell.

I think this has been mentioned earlier in the thread - Sex Education on Netflix. Series 3 recently released. I'm loving it and watching it slowly so it lasts a bit longer Anyone watching Vigil? - BBC crime set partly on a submarine with the marvelous Suranne Jones. I had to watch the end of episode 5 through my fingers - ooof that was scary! On Binge/Foxtel in Aus not sure who is streaming it in the US maryannscraps The Morning Show is great - I'm re-watching the last 2 of season 1 to refresh my memory. Can't wait to start season 2

Anyone watching Vigil? - BBC crime set partly on a submarine with the marvelous Suranne Jones. I had to watch the end of episode 5 through my fingers - ooof that was scary! On Binge/Foxtel in Aus not sure who is streaming it in the US Yes me! I think I mentioned it a few pages back. It is killing me having to wait a week for the next episode. And yes, the episode 5 ending was a doozie - I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow! I love Suranne Jones too. I just watched the first two episodes of another British show called 'I Am'. I think it was on ABC rather than Foxtel. I had absolutely no idea what it was about, but when I saw it had Suranne Jones and Lesley Manville from 'Mum' in it, I had to watch it. I assumed it was a series, but it is three stand alone stories. This is the second season, so I am going to have to see if I can find the first season.

Midnight Mass on Netflix. Limited series. 7 episodes. Billed as a horror story. It's been good so far.

I thought I was keeping up to date with this thread - there are so many good suggestions. Vigil has been such a good series, wraps up tomorrow, can't wait for the conclusion. I will look for I Am, it sounds good too. Did you see Gentleman Jack? I enjoyed that a lot more than I thought I would.

This afternoon, I watched a movie on Netflix - The Starling with Melissa McCarthy. I really enjoyed it and would recommend. Had me in tears a couple of times, and I don't cry easily. I like her so much more as a dramatic actress. I thought it was supposed to be bad. I may have to check it out. I was disappointed in her last movie snd thought it could have been so much better this I just am not sure about. I hadn't read any reviews on it, but just thought it looked interesting. I think it's worth a try. Her quirky personality still shows through, but in so much more of a 'real person' way. There are some really poignant scenes which will strike home to anyone who has suffered a tragic loss. Don't get me wrong - it's not all sadness and sorrow, but just so real. You'll be rooting for her, I promise! I hope you'll give it a chance.

Also watched the first episode of Brand New Cherry Flavor, set in 90s LA and featuring a creepy cat lady that I'm strongly identifying with. Lol so far I like it. I loved it, its so bloody weird. We're three episodes in and we like it. That producer is some piece of work but I don't doubt most of Hollywood is that way.

I watched two documentaries this weekend.
Lularich on Amazon. I was so angry while watching. I wanted to punch the smug right out of him.
Welcome to the Kutshers. The last Catskills resort. Very interesting to hear about the history of those resorts. Plus, it made me think of Mrs. Maisel and Tony Shaloub. There is one scene(I won't spoil Mrs. Maisel) that is to this day the best scene in the show, so far.

( scrapmaven....if you're seeing this, you reminded me of this show because you mentioned "Billions" on another thread. I LOVE Paul Giomatti, and I've tried to like that show, but gave up after 2 epis. Maybe I just need to watch a few more to get hooked. Give Billions a couple more episodes. I hated it at first and was ready to tell dh to watch it w/o me, but I'm hooked. The first episode didn't even make sense to me. Both actors are very good. It gets much more interesting w/twists and turns. If you really hate it after that then you can give me a great big Bulldog raspberry.

I’m watching an older family drama/ comedy from Australia called “Packed To The Rafters”. There are 6 season, 4 of which are on Prime. I’m really enjoying it and hope I can find the last 2 seasons to stream somewhere.

I don't know if this programme is available outside the U.K. but if you see it advertised I would recommend it. It's called The Repair Shop. It moved from an afternoon time slot to peak time as it has proved to be very popular. It features crafts people repairing and restoring family items. The crafts are a wide range, carpentry, porcelain repair, clocks, toys, paintings etc. The appeal is the stories and history of the items, the gentle nature of the professionals and the response of the owners to their restored item. Just gentle viewing if that's what you need. We have been watching this for a few years now and find it really fascinating not only what they fix but also how. Very talented craftsmen/women. Nothing seems too difficult for them to do something with.

It's a weepy movie? dang it. I don't feel like a watching a weepy movie right now. And I was eager to see it because I liked her and O'Dowd too. Not at all! There are some sad moments, but I loved it. It was heart warming by the end. I totally agree that Melissa's quarky personality showed through well, but she was more real... not all goofy and nutty.

Ok, i watched it last friday. i am not a weepy person and i don't like weepy films. it was actually very good. there were sad moments but definitely nothing i would weep over. the supporting cast was also very good. i love kevin kline and am glad to see him back on the big screen. this was a great movie for melissa mccarthy. she was funny but not stupid funny and it was nice NOT to see her husband in his usual where's-waldo cameo (unless i missed it. i was working on something so i didn't see every second of the movie). hopefully she does more of these kinds of movies. i really think she is capable of earning another oscar nomination someday.

Midnight Mass is great, I'm a bit mad with myself for binging it so quickly though.
The Chestnut Man was ok, I was expecting more from it but found it mostly boring and dragged out. I've watched the first four episodes of American Horror Stories on Disney+ and I'm so disappointed with it.

I just started watching a British comedy drama called 'This Way Up' starring one of my girl crushes, Aisling Bea. Have any UK Peas seen it? It is from 2019 so I'm a bit late to the party. I've only watched the first two episodes and I am really enjoying it, mainly because I bloody LOVE Aisling!
ETA: According to Wikipedia, it's on Hulu in the US.
