Netflix Turn: Washington’s Spies 4 seasons
We binged this for two weeks and loved it so much! Very accurate accounts about the Pulper Ring spies.

I'm devastated - Ryan Reynolds is a Canadian treasure. I do enjoy both of them best in small doses - the movie moved quick enough that it was fine. I know, I'm usually alone in my thoughts about RR but he just grates on my nerves so bad. I want him to just shut up and he won't. Fucking. Shut. Up. Ever!!! I hated Deadpool! I hate him in everything where he's allowed to try comedy. As a serious actor I don't mind him so much. We saw Red Notice last night. It was silly and fun -- The Rock was great. I actually love Ryan Reynolds, but he just wouldn't shut up in this movie. He was so annoying. The first half was way better than the second half.

For anyone who likes Clickbait on Netfix, the creator & screenwriter, Christian White is also an excellent author. I’ve read 3 of his books and just found out he created the Clickbait series; now I know why I loved that too.
The three books are Wild Place (‘21), The Wife and The Widow (‘20) and The Nowhere Child (‘19). All were 5-star reads for me.

A few British dramas I’ve recently watched and enjoyed -
The Tower - police drama Angela Black - mental health/abuse drama Showtrial - murder/courtroom drama
Not very good descriptions I know, but I don’t want to give any of the plots away.

Just finished watching Dopesick (‘21) on Hulu. Highly recommend.
The story of the ugly side of the pharmaceutical companies and the FDA and the people affected by them. The performances by the whole cast were so believable and gut-wrenching.

We just watched the first episode of Clarkson's Farm and really enjoyed it. Jeremy Clarkson, who previously hosted Top Gear, has no experience as a farmer but has decided to work his massive farm since the gentleman who use to run it for him has decided to retire.
It goes as well as one would expect, lol.

The performances by the whole cast were so believable and gut-wrenching. I am halfway through this and I am absolutely horrified. And I agree - everyone is fantastic in this. Gut-wrenching is the perfect description.

It's very interesting. finished GBBO on Friday night. What a great season!

Over Thanksgiving we saw King Richard about the Williams tennis stars. We all enjoyed it. You can now watch it on HBO Max I think.

Oh boy. Castle for Christmas. We watched it because I read that it was so bad it’s good. Nope - it’s just truly, awfully bad.
Loving Dopesick and Succession just now.

Thoroughly enjoyed this show. It was hilarious. I love Gerald - I am hearing impaired and Gerald's wild accent is pretty much how the world sounds to me all the time, lol!! I read they are doing a second series and I am eagerly awaiting it!!

Has anyone watched "True Story" with Kevin Hart on Netflix? We really liked it. I'm a big fan of Kevin Hart. It was nice to see him in a serious role.

We heard all the great reviews for Benedict Cumberbatch's The Power of the Dog on Netflix so we watched it the other night. Well, about an hour and half of it. It just wasn't our cup of tea so we finally turned it off.

It was based on a book by Michael Robotham which I had read and enjoyed. Season 2 is filming now and should be out in 2022.

Two hours of my life I’ll never get back. Absolutely nothing happens. Glad it wasn't just us! Although I did read to see how it ended and was surprised to read this: That Phil died at the end. It was by anthrax poisoning so that's why they mentioned anthrax a few times during the movie. Do you think the young boy killed him?

cadoodlebug - to answer your spoiler question (not sure if the spoiler stays hidden if I quote you) yes, definitely. I’m sure it’s all very clever, and it’s undoubtedly beautifully acted, but it was soooooo slooooooow, I wasn’t engaged in it like I should have been.

Just watched a great movie with Sandra Bullock.
THE UNFORGIVEABLE (‘21 Netflix) 5 Stars for me !
Sandra gets out of prison and, while trying to fit back into society, is looking for her younger sister.

We watched two movies on Netflix this weekend. The first was Love Hard-kind of a cheesy romantic holiday comedy, but we both liked it!
Then tonight we watched A Boy Called Christmas. This was such a good family movie. We all give this an enthusiastic thumbs up. Maggie Smith is in it and it’s based on a book by Matt Haig.

Landscapers ~ on HBO. It’s a new limited series. With Olivia Colman, from Broadchurch. It’s based on a true crime story. Kinda slow, but shows promise.
