Just finished Candy on Hulu last night. Stars Jessica Biel and based on a true story of an axe murder. Recommend.
The Girl From Plainville--Elle Fanning--also based on the true story of the girl who urged (by text) her boyfriend to commit suicide. Pretty good so far.
Anatomy of a Scandal (? Can't remember if the name is correct) on Netflix--enjoying. British member of Parliament has an affair, life is derailed.

I will second Candy on Hulu. Slow pace to it, but I enjoyed it.
I also watched a couple of true stories on Netflix: Bad Vegan, and Our Father. Both were quick watches, which I like. And well worth watching, IMO. Especially Our Father -- the victims of this one need to get their story out to the world so this monster can't hide from his wrong-doings. Uggghh.

Started The Lincoln Lawyer and liking it so far. New and only 1 season on Netflix. I just stated this late yesterday and I am really LIKING this! I am going to be sad when I was the final episode this season. I haven't had much luck finding things I enjoy watching lately.

I know this is old news but I'm rewatching. Veronica Mars. I never watch the new series because I know who it ended. Wondering if I can watch up until the point where it will make me really angry and sad and just turn the TV off. I know I talk a lot about how much I hate the ending for hIMYM and I tell people who are going to watch it to turn it off as soon as they meet the mother and she says, "my name is ..." Is there a point I can do that with the Veronica Mars revival series? Not sure I stopped a few episodes from the end. The last season just wasn’t the same and I knew the ending and just didn’t want to watch. One if these days I will rewatch the early seasons.

Lincoln Lawyer was great! we really enjoyed it. it is well cast and they all have good chemistry. I can't wait to watch this! I follow Michael Connolly on Facebook, and I have to laugh at the people who were outraged that they cast a Mexican actor to play Mickey Haller "So Mickey Haller is Mexican now? Ridiculous!" Then Michael Connolly (or whoever posts for him) comes on and says "Um, he is Mexican American in the novels, so......"

I really liked the cast, never read the books but the cast seemed to click more than many others lately that just seem thrown together.

I really hope they get a second season and that it comes back quickly. that's what i hate when i binge watch stuff----it's forever until the next season. but i'm sure it will be back. i think the author did at least 5 Lincoln lawyer books so they have material to adapt for tv.

Finally got to see AMBULANCE (‘22 AmazP/Apple) w/Jake Gyllenhall. Long movie, 2 1/4 hours. Most of the movie was racing vehicles but I did enjoy the cast and their relationships.
3.5 Stars for me.

I watched the newest season of Workin’ Moms. You have to be okay with crude, but I laugh so much during this show. It’s a fast binge.

I watched American Heretics on Prime last night. I give it a 10+. It focuses on churches in Oklahoma that consider themselves liberal while surrounded by conservative, right wing, churches. There are several really good biblical scholars who explain the role of women in the church, homosexuality in the bible, and the politics of religion. I consider myself to be an atheist and I was blown away with how well it was done. Highly recommend .

Watched 2 good movies yesterday.
The new FIRESTARTER. It was enjoyable but, to me, not as good as the Drew Barrymore one from years ago. 3.5 Stars.
Father Stu with Mark Wahlburg. Very well done but sad. It was a true story that Mark heard about from a friend and paid for almost the whole movie by himself. Very touching tale. 4 Stars.

I may be a bit behind, but I just watched Julia on HBO Max and enjoyed it so much, loved the story, costumes & music

I'm super late to the party, but I've binged two seasons of Emily in Paris in two nights recently. I can relate in a number of different ways, so it was really fun for me. Can't wait for Season 3, but from what I read, it could be late 2022 or early 2023 before the next season is released, since they're rumored to be filming beginning this summer.

I’m not sure if this has been mentioned here before, but I absolutely loved Generation Wealth - a documentary on Amazon Prime. It’s super thought-provoking, very raw and heavy at times (and definitely earned its “R” rating), but I found it to be amazing.

We are through the first season of Pretty Hard Cases on Prime. There are some commercials but it isn't that disruptive. Canadian cop show about 2 female detectives. 2 seasons so far. There are a lot of guns but not a lot of shooting and bloody scenes unlike American detective shows. Great character development.

We just watched the first episode of The Staircase on HBO Max. Oh my! I have been hearing so many people talk about the show, so I sat down last night to watch it. Five minutes in, I realized I had already watched it a couple years ago. In typical fashion though, I really don’t remember any of the details.

I could be wrong, but I think The Staircase on HBO is a new version of the same story of the old The Staircase that was more of a documentary. It starred the actual Michael Peterson. The new one on HBO is supposedly much better. I’ve seen the old one, that’s probably the one you’ve seen. I think it’s on Netflix. Again, not sure, as I haven’t seen the new one. HTH

I’m finishing up the final episode of Pieces of Her on Netflix. I really liked the first few episodes but it dragged a little in the middle. I’m hoping they wrap everything up in this final episode.
