Finished Jane the Virgin on Netflix (Canada). What a great show! Loved it's campy telenovela.
On BritBox I found a hilarious comedy Miranda. Just about to finish season 1. The actress Miranda Hart is 6'1, plain looking and so funny. I had to look up her height because Tom Ellis from Lucifer is on the show and I know he's over 6 feet tall! She's slightly shorter than him. I know there is now a USA version with the same name though don't have access to that one.

I enjoyed the first season of Uncoupled. Neil Patrick Harris plays a gay NYC real estate agent whose partner of 17 years suddenly dumps him. It was created by Darren Star, who produced Sex and the City. If you were a fan of the original SATC series, you may enjoy this series. The writing is sharp, the characters are interesting and the scenes of the city are a wonderful backdrop. Netflix hasn't announced if there will be second season yet, so don't get too attached. Watched it and enjoyed it. I've been a fan of Neil Patrick Harris and was glad to see him in a series.

I just watched all episodes of the Bear. I enjoyed the chaos of it. Looking forward to another season being released. SIL tipped me off to this show. she warned me it was really fast paced and chaotic. she wasn't kidding. but it was a good show. good character development. good insight into what small, long time restaurants might go through just to stay afloat. i can't wait to see what the new restaurant will be like. i really hope there is a new season.

We watched the first 2 episodes of The Good Fight, the spin-off of the The Good Wife which we loved. We're now hooked on the Fight! I've been looking at all the guest stars they have on the show and I'm gobsmacked!! And so many that carried over from The Good Wife!
This is on Paramount+ I think but we got the DVDs from the library.

We’ve started watching The Closer and quite liking it so far.

Not sure if this has already been mentioned as the show is a few years old, but DH and I just watched Godless on Netflix and I LOVED it!! It’s a 7 part limited series western, which I do not usually care for, about a town with mostly women bc almost all of the men died in a mining accident. There’s a mysterious stranger, a gang of 30+ bad dudes, some beautiful scenery and some super bad ass ladies. I keep watching the trailer since we finished but I honestly cannot wait to rewatch the whole show. All the thumbs up on this one. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I cannot figure out how to post the link, but watch the official trailer on YouTube. As soon as I saw it, I was hooked!

I never participate in this thread but I've watched a lot of stuff recently as my husband and I try to spend more quality time together. Firstly, thanks to this thread I binged (alone) Uncoupled and loved it! I've always been a NPH fan. Together we watched the first 3 episodes of House of Dragon on HBO. I never watched GOT - he did. So he's watching that with me a few episodes at a time now. We watched the first 2 last night. I'm going to be here forever. We watched the Elvis movie which was good. Loved Elvis! Kind of hated Tom Hanks' character. I thought his accent was beyond-annoying. I started Devil in Ohio (Netflix) last night and am on ep. 2. It's odd and interesting thus far. Anyone watch?

I just finished Hacks. Loved Jean Smart.

A few movies the past week……………..
FALL (‘22 AmazP) w/Jeffrey Dean Morgan. Two daredevil climbers get stranded on a radio tower. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is barely in it. I think they hoped having “a name” would be a draw. 3 Stars.
END OF THE ROAD (‘22 Netflix) w/Queen Latiffa. Road trip gone wrong. The acting was horrible. 2 Stars.
WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING (‘22 Apple). Finally got around to seeing this one and it did not disappoint. So beautiful! Had me enchanted the whole movie. I had also read the book by the same name a few years ago and loved that too! 5 Stars.
BEAST (Aug ‘22 AmazP) w/Idris Elba. A thriller about a family being stalked by a lion. I liked Endangered Species of 2021 (with Jerry O’Connell) a lot more. 3 Stars.

We just finished watching The Woman in the House across the Street from the Girl in the Window - 8 episodes on Netflix. I thought it was going to be a spoof of sorts, due to the name [all those books] and the fact that the lead was played by Kristen Bell, as I think of her more as a comedic actress - but it was actually quite serious and disturbing, to say the least. Many twists and turns and sub-stories, so it held our interest. DH likes to think of himself as an armchair detective and always makes a guess as to who the real killer is when we're watching a crime show. I laughed at him when he made his guess around ep. 5 or 6, but damn! He was right!

Jean Smart is a very talented actress. She is perfect in the role on Hacks. We're finishing the season of Master Chef and then we will go to season 2 of Only Murders in the Building. I really enjoyed season one. For those who have never seen or read it, ShopGirl is an entertaining novella by Steve Martin. He stars in the movie w/Clare Danes and it's a really good movie. He's quite a good novelist. You don't get any hint of the wild and crazy guy from SNL.
Last weekend we watched Easter Sunday w/Joe Koy. He's a funny comedienne, but that movie was beyond bad. I think I laughed for 5 minutes total. I was grateful that we only paid $1.98 on Amazon Prime and I felt like we got ripped off at the same time. Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 40% rating. I think they were generous!

Watched a good mystery/thriller today on Netflix.
ECHOES (‘22 Netflix) S1E7 : 55M each Adult twin sisters and their game, that stated as children, get them in trouble. Needs some concentration since they’re twins to decide who is in the current scene, but was worth it to me. 4 Stars for us.

Freevee on Prime: Sprung by Greg Garcia who did My Name is Earl and Raising Hope. Very funny.
Hulu: Wedding Season. Sounds like a reality show but actually a suspenseful drama with 30 minute episodes. A lot of violence and unexpected twists.

Sent a tweet to Kristen Bell about how cruel it was to play a role in which she body slams a child. I will be suspect of anything she does in the future after she chose to lend her fame to this mess.

I am watching Five days at Memorial and enjoying it. It’s about what happened at their hospital after Katrina. It’s amazing how quickly we forget how horrible it was.

I finished Devil in Ohio. It was... ok.
I watched Partner Track on Netflix and really liked that! It ended like there will be a 2nd season.
Finishing up Yellowjackets (Showtime) with my husband. We have 2 episodes left. We kinda-sorta watched ep.9 last night until we fell asleep but we both agreed it felt odd and like a weird episode. Anyone watch this and love it? It was pretty creepy and promising and now I am unsure about the ending coming up for us. Season 2 comes out in a few months.
Started the Jeffery Dahmer documentary (Netflix) with Evan Peters today.

Watched a good series yesterday. MONSTER: THE JEFFREY DAHMER STORY (‘22 Netflix) S1 Only - E10 - 50 Minutes each. It’s definitely not for everyone. Descriptions are very gruesome. I thought the acting of Evan Peters, from American Horror Story fame, was unbelievable. I also loved Neecy Nash’s role; she tried so hard to report him. 4 Stars for us !
Also watched a good movie this morning. LOU (‘22 Netflix) w/Allison Janney who’s looking for a kidnapped child. Some twists I didn’t see coming. 4 Stars.
Happy Viewing !

Has anyone watched Servant on Apple TV? M. Night Shyamalan executive produced it and directed some episodes. It has that creepy vibe but there’s no gore, no cheap “jump scares,” it’s really really well done if creepy is your vibe. I absolutely love it. There’s three seasons out now (10 episodes each) and I binged it while recovering from surgery. It stars Lauren Ambrose (six Feet Under), Rupert Grint (Harry Potter). If interior design is your thing, they live in an incredible Philadelphia brownstone.
