We finished The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel the other night. Once again, this season there is a scene where Tony Shaloub steals the season. Very good show and I'm sad to see it end.
Now we're watching Shrinking on Apple TV. It's very entertaining. Jason Segal and Harrison Ford star in the show and they do a really good job.

An older one, but I have just discovered Miranda on Prime/BritBox. I signed up for a trial period to catch up on Call the Midwife, then was (of course) offered a special rate to continue. I was on the verge of cancelling BritBox again after that time period expired when I thought I would have a look at Miranda. I was curious because the American sitcom Call Me Kat is based on it. It's Miranda Hart from Midwife aka Chummy! I laughed out loud for the whole half hour, it is that funny! She is a brilliant comedienne, kind of a combination of Carol Burnett and Lucille Ball, with a British accent. I just love this show. Needless to say, I am still a subscriber to BritBox! Thanks for the recommendation I think Britbox might have a desk for prime day if so I may get it. I have heard about this show but never watched it.

We watched Air on Prime the other night. It is a movie starring Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Viola Davis and others and tells the story about how Nike was able to sign Michael Jordan to a contract back in the 70's. We really enjoyed it.

I just watched El Dorado on Netflix. It is a documentary on the LBGTQ community in Berlin, Germany and the build up to Nazism and Hitler. It is eerily close to what is happening in this country today. Well worth a watch.

I've been watching: And Just Like That (Max) - I hate watched the first season but I've been enjoying this season much more. Hijack (Apple +) - great thriller and Idris Elba Crowded Room (Apple +) - it's based on a true story I am not familiar with so I am very intrigued. New episodes are released weekly so it's like the good ole days with network TV over here. Ha!!

We started season 4 (final season) of Jack Ryan last night. So many moving parts to keep track of! But we love Jack! We still need to watch season 3!

We watched Nobody on Netflix last night. Wow, what a ride this movie is! If you don't mind a LOT of violence, and love a thriller, this is for you. DH said to me "I don't think you'll fall asleep during this one". He was right.

DH said to me "I don't think you'll fall asleep during this one". He was right. I think we saw this. When people asked him who he was, did he say *I'm nobody?* It just sounds so familiar! We also watched the 5th episode of season 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer. We have to wait until August 2nd for the second batch of 5 episodes.

I binged Wellmania, starring Celeste Barber, on Netflix yesterday. It was good but I hate that they ended it on a huge cliffhanger and it hasn’t been renewed for season 2. Celeste is super funny and I could listen to the Australian accent all day long. Siri on my iPhone is Australian. 😂

I will wait until closer to when they will drop the rest of the episodes.

We have several streaming services (too many IMO), yet DH never thinks to check out Amazon Prime. Last night he was going through the listings and found one we think we will like: Almost Paradise (starring Christian Kane). It's the first crime drama filmed entirely in the Philippines. The second season drops on July 21.
Premise: Former DEA Agent Alex Walker, forced into retirement, moves to the island of Cebu in the Philippines. He purchases the hotel gift shop in the hopes of managing his stress and high blood pressure, but the wealthy and criminal element on the island keep drawing him back into law enforcement.

I just recently watched The Nice Guys. It’s from 2016, Ryan Gosling and Russel Crowe. I really enjoyed it. It has a kind of Bosch, Lincoln Lawyer vibe. Not sure how I missed it the past 7 years but glad I finally got around to it.

cadoodlebug , We enjoyed Billions; though, by the last season it was sort of the same plot over and over, again. Still, the acting is so good. We finished Shrinking on Apple TV. What an entertaining show. Harrison Ford and Jason Segel play well off of eachother.

We're loving Secret Invasion though it was somewhat amusing to see them blowing up Halifax Piece Hall and passing it off as Moscow in the first episode.

We're watching Manifest on Netflix, it's the most unintentionally hilarious thing I've ever seen. How so? ETA: I've only seen one or two episodes when it was on free-to-air tv here because it was on quite late and I wasn't enjoying it enough to stay up for it.

Dh and I binged Hollywood on Netflix across a couple of nights and quite enjoyed it.
It's a brightly coloured miniseries about a fictional group of aspiring actors and filmmakers in post-World War II Hollywood trying to make it big, no matter the cost. There's some nudity and sex scenes, and it's rated R16.
We almost didn't watch it because Rotten Tomatoes only rated it 59% but it's definitely better than that.
Jim Parsons was surprisingly convincing as a sexual predator. 😳

YDD was home this weekend and we watched Wildflower. Blew me away. Has anyone else seen it? It's a touching story of a mentally challenged couple who become pregnant and marry, have their child and try to make it all work despite some heartbreaking challenges. Not the least of which being their quarreling extended families.
I think it's on Hulu

I finally finshed the entire series of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Oh, how I love that show. Such a sweet ending.
Wham! documentary. I knew nothing about Wham! besides that's how George Michael started with that other guy. I didn't even know his name. Anyway, I really enjoyed it and loved how Andrew was supportive of George's solo career.
Sweet Magnolias. This is one of those series where it's better than the books. I know they are just fluff, but wow! I think I made it through book four and each one was SOOOOO repetitive with that one problem that was constantly rehashed. It's nothing groundbreaking. Just an easy show to watch.
Take Care of Maya. That was rough. I regret watching this documentary. I should have read a review before watching. It showed up as a recommendation on Netflix.
Queer Eye, New Orleans. The current season. I've been watching episodes of this on Netflix off and on. Every episode is kind of touching. I even teared up on a couple of them.
I'm almost finished watching Alex Borstein: Corsets & Clown Suits on Prime. It is hilarious, but there is definite crude humor. I'm a Gilmore Girls fan and had no idea she was married to Jackson. I know Gilmore Girls and the Marvelous Mrs. Maisel were written by the same person. They are now divorced and it sounds like he was a real ass. She goes from being funny, introspective, singing, and back to funny. It's billed as a musical comedy special.
I watched Russian Doll on Netflix and wow that was bizarre, but I kind of loved it! The ending was odd; the explanation that was given, I did not understand, but it didn't bother me either. I've started watching Poker Face on Peacock and I'm loving this series. I'm on episode three.
