I binged Wellmania, starring Celeste Barber, on Netflix yesterday. It was good but I hate that they ended it on a huge cliffhanger and it hasn’t been renewed for season 2. Celeste is super funny and I could listen to the Australian accent all day long. Siri on my iPhone is Australian. 😂 my siri is australian too - i imagine he's trevor noah. Just an FYI Trevor Noah is South African....

We just finished Poker Face on Peacock. It has been renewed for a 2nd season. A different kind of murder of the week show.

If you have Hulu, I accidentally (but happy I did) ran across a great show. "The Jewel Thief". Don't get thrown by the title. It's a true story of a guy that at a young age began his life of crime. It is told by him and the investigators who tried to catch him for a long time. This guy is way beyond smart and it is fascinating how he gets away with things. Think "Catch Me If You Can" but in real life. I highly recommend it. Although the guy is a lifelong criminal I found him fascinating. Imagine what good things he could have done with that brain of his!
MOVIE INFO The firsthand account of Gerald Blanchard, one of the most creative, calculating and accomplished criminal masterminds in modern history.

I've been watching Joe Pickett on Paramount plus and really enjoying it. Plus it's set in Wyoming and you can tell they do shoot some of it there so the setting is stunning.
I loved shrinking and highly recommend it.
And for those of you who are sci fi fans, Strange New Worlds (Star Trek) just dropped a fantastic, yet super dark, episode yesterday. One of the best of the series in a season that's been one great episode after another. Next week is a musical which is either going to be flamazing or a really bad idea.

Glad to hear that this season of Strange New Worlds is good. We are waiting for them to all be available. Kind of bummed they are doing a musical episode we usually aren’t fans of those.

Ready for the final episode of Hijack to drop this coming Wed. It's a great show but a bit too intense for me, especially the ending of this week's episode!
We are late to the game but just started watching Mrs. Maisel and so far we are really enjoying it. I hope it stays good through all 5 seasons. Our favorite character so far is Tony Shalhoub! Discovered that he was in the older series Monk, so we started that last night. Watched the first 2 episodes and so far I am liking it. We have big gaps in our tv viewing due to being overseas pre-streaming for many many years. What better time to catch up than during the summer and a writers/actors strike.

I just binged the first two seasons of Reservation Dogs (HULU) and then watched the first two episodes of the third (and final) season. I LOVE this show. Willie Jack is my very favorite character.

I haven't watched this but it's being advertised on the BBC and the reviews are excellent. It's based on a true story which is probably why I'm hesitant to watch, I remember the events in the news. It stars Timothy Spall and Anne Reid. Just thought I'd give a heads up in case it gets to overseas services. DH and I just watched the limited series “The English Game” and both really liked it. I read a review on IMDb that said you’ll like it if you like sports, and you’ll probably also like it if you don’t like sports, and we found that to be a very accurate review. DH, the sports guy, loved it, and I, the not at all sports girl, loved it as well. Definitely two thumbs up from both of us!

Enthusiastically recommend Deadloch on Prime. Set in Tasmania, it's a feminist satirical comedy/serial killer mystery. I LOL'd several times and that almost never happens. Beware of liberal profanity including the "c" word and some nudity. One of the characters is a lot, and you may want to stop watching. Keep going--it tones down after episode 3.

I have been thinking of watching again - it has been many years since I watched it. And I even think I may not have seen the last few episodes of the final season??

We finished season 2 of Good Omens, god I love David Tennant and Michael Sheen together. Fingers crossed that season 3 will go ahead.
Also finished The Witcher, not sure I'll watch anymore now Liam Hemsworth will be playing Geralt. The hmm just won't be the same.

Fisk on Netflix. It's a comedy about a lawyer in Australia. It's very funny and quirky. I think there are only 6 episodes

The actor playing Ben Field is exactly like the real Ben.

After an hour of searching for something to watch the other night, I was really excited to see that a book I really liked had been adapted to a 6 part show. The Flatshare (by Beth O’Leary) is on Freevee. From what I can tell it came out on Paramount last year, but since I don’t have that I never knew.
“A unique situation where to save money, two strangers share a flat on a schedule where they never meet each other. They communicate via post it note while they navigate their unusual agreement, their relationships, and lives.”
It’s really sweet and a very good adaptation of the book.

On Hulu recently, we watched Sam & Kate which stars Sissy Spacek and her real life daughter and Dustin Hoffman and his real life son. It's a dramedy that touches on elder care, flailing as to your true purpose, love and loss. We laughed and cried and thoroughly enjoyed it.
On Amazon Prime, we watched The Portable Door which is a bit whimsy, Harry Potter-ish film about a secret agency with 2 new hires who discover a devious plot within and a magical door. Light fun and several recognizable faces including Sam Neill.
Last night on Netflix, we watched I See You which is a suspenseful thriller. Just when I thought I had the twist figured out... It also kept my DH glued to the screen, a rarity.
And I've been rewatching Schitt's Creek, Ted Lasso and Heartstopper when I need a happy pick me up.

The fashions were never really standouts, so nothing looks especially specific to the aughts. The only thing we laugh about is that everyone is still using flip phones - at least up to the season we are on. And honestly, can a shirtless Eric Northman ever seem dated?
