Its basis is that the rapture has come and taken the faithful up to heaven and the rest of the people are the Leftovers so it explores life after that. It's very good and I really enjoyed it as a series. is this related to the Left Behind books and series? no it is not based off that book series or movies at all.

For those of you who have watched The Leftovers AND you enjoy podcasts, there is a great episode review podcast by Mary & Blake Media. Blake helped me see so much more about each episode than I would’ve picked up on myself. I highly recommend the podcast.

I binged Them season 2 over the last couple of days, it's genuinely scary and the ending...shudder. I really hope there's another season.

cadoodlebug I know you're away at the moment, but I've found a new show for us to watch. Well, it's not actually new new, but it's new to me: Whitstable Pearl. The lead character is played by Kerry Godliman, whom I adore. She played the wife in Ricky Gervais's After Life, amongst many other roles. I found out about the show yesterday - a friend of mine is in the UK at the moment, and she happened to be in Whitstable as they were filming the show. How exciting! She sent me photos, then I looked it up and realised that I can watch Seasons 1 and 2 on Acorn here. I watched the first episode last night, and I really enjoyed it. It seems that each episode will be a whole new storyline, with the character development and personal stories running through the season of course. And amazingly, they haven't killed off a favourite character yet hahaha!! Mind you, I'm only one episode in, so there's plenty of time.

Don't mean to burst anyone's bubble but I've seen all the available episodes and while the scenery was enjoyable, I would call this series cozy, and I like my shows a little more gritty. Also, I don't think there's much chemistry between Pearl and Mike. I hope y'all like it, though.

I love gritty, the gritty UK police shows such as Happy Valley, Line of Duty, The Responder, Blue Lights etc are my absolute faves! I'm also watching Chicago PD season 10, and Mayor of Kingstown (OMG, sooooo gritty!!) at the moment. But I'm open to watching something a little more cozy every once in a while, just to even things out. I tend to have a lot of, let's say violent, dreams, and I'm certain it's because of the TV shows I watch.

I just finished Baby Reindeer on Netflix. Yikes. It had a lot more layers than I was expecting and it was quite good. I just watched this. I agree with your review. Wow. Layers there are. When it was finished - I just sat there. Silent. Gutted ? eta ~ apparently gutted means disappointed. Which I was not. I felt like I was actually…. not exactly sure how to put it in words. It was a powerful piece.

I've just watched the final episode of Kin, season 2. OMG!!! This show is so freakin good! I am desperate for season 3, but from what I've read, there might not even be a season 3. All of the actors are out of contract now, and some are working on other projects. I will be keeping my fingers and toes crossed that they can make it happen.
The last episode tied off some loose ends, so to speak, but also left a few open storylines.
I watched it on SBS (a free-to-air channel here) but I think I read somewhere that it's now on Netflix.

The second show that I've finished tonight is the outstanding 6-part New Zealand show After the Party, starring the brilliant Robyn Malcolm. I'm not sure whether this show will be available in the northern hemisphere, but if it is, make sure you watch it!

We just finished the available seasons of Hacks on HBO Max. I love Jean Smart. Very funny, every episode is different.
Next up is the Flight Attendant. I read the book so I have an idea what to expect.

Your Honor with Bryan Cranston, just released on Netflix.
I watched a few episodes on Friday night and two more on Saturday and then binged about 8 episodes yesterday. I will finish either today or tomorrow. There are 20 episodes (two seasons) total. There might be a season 3, but that is uncertain.
I think it's fantastic and love it almost as much Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.

Although, as much as I loved season one, I’m finding it difficult to get into season two. Perhaps it’s his appearance. Should I hang in there ?

So far, I don't like Season 2 quite as much as I did Season 1 but am definitely invested enough to finish it. I think the acting is fantastic as well. I love Benjamin Flores Jr. (Lil Man) and Hope Davis and Hunter Doohan too.

I'm cat sitting for my sister this weekend and she only has streaming services (no cable/satellite) so I was seeking a series that only had one season that I hadn't seen before. I came across " Dead Boy Detectives" on Netflix and I'm loving it. It's a supernatural type of show about 2 British male ghosts that died in their teens (one in 1912 and one in the 1980s) and an American female psychic that help other ghosts solve cases/problems. It's a little quirky, a little creepy and a little funny. I watched the final episode of Hacks last night. I recommend it to everyone. I love Hacks too!

We just finished the third season of Spooks (renamed MI5 at some point) and a few of the episodes just gutted me. Tom leaving then Zoe going on trial and having to disappear. Last night Danny was murdered and it broke my heart. Despite all that, we love the show. Nicola Walker is a big bonus!

I was so disappointed that they didn't run it for another season.
I recently watched the new Gene Wilder documentary on Netflix. He is my all time favorite actor. Mel Brooks talks a lot in the documentary and it's very interesting. I think I love Gene Wilder even more now. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys his movies.
Dh and I finished Six Feet Under on Max. It's an oldie, but a goodie. It might be one of my all time favorite shows. I can't wait to start Dexter. Both shows star Michael C. Hall.

Dh and I finished Six Feet Under on Max. Best finale of a TV series ever!! If you surf the web you can find the obituaries of every character. It was written by the writers after the series ended. That was a very sad ending, but talk about closure. Next to Shameless it might be my favorite modern series, so far. Of course, nothing will ever replace Carol Burnett or The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
I do want to watch Dexter. It sounds like creepy fun.
flanz , the Gene Wilder Documentary just made me love him more.

I absolutely loved Dexter back when it was first on. Especially the first two seasons. It went progressively downhill, and the last season was pretty bad. But I still watched until the bitter end. I think DS gave up after season 3 or 4.

We are on season 5 of Spooks/MI5 and, although we LOVE the show, we can't believe how many people get written off! Tom, Zoe, Fiona, Danny and now Ruth! All were favorites of ours. So sad.

I recently watched the new Gene Wilder documentary on Netflix. I started watching and was enjoying it...aaaaand then it got to Woody Allen and sex with sheep and noped out very fast. I've never seen that movie and won't, but knowing that Gene Wilder took that role and worked with Allen has made me think less of him.
