I've been meaning to explore some K dramas and DS's girlfriend told me to start with The Glory (Netflix). My preference is for dark, gritty dramas, and this certainly fits the bill. I binged episodes 1-12 last night (went to bed at 5am this morning). Still have 4 episodes to go.

I've just finished watching a new 8 episode show called Fake, on Paramount+. I binged all 8 episodes over the last three nights, as did my SIL. It was great! It is based on a true story, a book of the same name. It is about a man who cons and gaslights a woman. I don't know if it is available in other countries, but if it is, I definitely recommend watching it! And, it's filmed in my home town. In one of the early scenes, the main character is walking across the bridge towards the station, which is the same bridge and station I use when I go into the office each week. "Magazine features writer Birdie Bell meets successful grazier Joe Burt on a dating app and believes she's found her perfect match, but as the relationship intensifies she begins to feel her boyfriend isn't all he has led her to believe."ETA: It looks like it is only available in Australia at the moment. But if you have a VPN you could watch it. Instructions

I am very late to the party but I binge watched Derry Girls two weeks ago. It may be one of my all-time favorites.

I watched THE MAN WITH 1000 KIDS last night. Have you seen that? OMG.... . I won't give any details other than to say he was a sperm donor. You've got to watch. Watched this over the weekend snd another friend did as well. It’s just shocking the lack of safety measures in place to prevent something like this where there are say 100 in a small area. That and that he isn’t the only one doing this. The implications are scary. It was one of those shows you just can’t stop watching.

We watched the movie Hachi with Richard Gere and Joan Allen (2009). Our DS was visiting and he rented it on Prime for us to watch. I can't believe none of us ever heard of the movie before. It was quite heartwarming and there might have been some moistness in the eye area.

Yep, my daughter and I had several truly jaw dropping, open mouthed moments while watching this 3 part documentary.

They seem to move around so maybe it will land on one. ETA. I just checked my library and they have it so I requested it. I love when that happens.

Netflix has a new series like Quarterback, this season it is Receivers. I've watched a couple episodes, and it is really good. It features Davante Adams, Justin Jefferson, George Kittle, Deebo Samuel and Amon-Ra St. Brown in the 2023 season.
George Kittle just cracks me up!

We're watching Shogun on TIVO. The costumes are beautiful and it does delve into Japanese culture. I'm quite enjoying it. I liked the original w/Richard Chamberlain, but this one is less campy.
After this it's time to start Dexter on Netflix. I cannot wait. Michael C. Hall was fantastic in Six Feet Under.

Ok for all of the peas that grew up in the 80s, I started watching Cobra Kai on Netflix. 😂 I binged seasons 1 thru 4 this weekend. They did a great job of mixing old with new and did the story justice. I’m so glad Elizabeth Shue made a cameo. I highly recommend it if you were a Karate Kid fan.

I may have mentioned this show last year, but The Green Glove Gang on Netflix is a Polish crime romp series that just dropped their 2nd season. Fun senior citizen thieves turned Robin Hood. I'm on a reading kick so haven't been watching much of anything, but DH and I are doing about one episode a week for an easy chill date night.

I've just started watching The Rookie with Nathan Fillion on Netflix. I love it so so much!! I didn't even know the show existed, and after bingeing the first couple of episodes I looked it up on IMDb and was excited to find out that there are actually SIX seasons for me to binge my way through. How had I never heard of it before?
I'm already three episodes into Season 3, and I only started watching it a week or two ago - I watched three episodes last night. I'm going to have to slow down so I can savour it.

It was absolutely devastating and probably the most heartbreaking movie I’ve ever seen in my life. If you’re a dog lover, watch with caution. 😭

I haven't looked up all of the seasons, but the first two season have 20 episodes, and I know that a couple of them have 22 episodes. That's a lot of episodes IMO! Or maybe I'm measuring it against British police shows, which tend to only have about 6 episodes! ETA: I just checked on IMDb, and two of the seasons are shorter than 20 or 22 episodes. Season 3 only has 14 episodes (probably due to COVID? It would have been filmed in 2020) and the most recent season (6) looks like it only has 10 episodes. I wonder why S6 is so short, considering the others have 20 or 22 eps?

I remember buying DSO the DVD set, back when DVDs were a thing! How many seasons of Dexter have you watched so far? The first season is by far the best, and the next couple are good, then it just goes downhill from there. Nevertheless, I still watched every season. DSO gave up after S2 or 3.

I haven't read this thread for a while, but is anyone watching Your Honor?? I watched it when it was first on Showtime. How are you enjoying it? It's such a great show! The actor who played Jimmy Baxter was amazing! I actually enjoyed season 2 more than season 1.

ABC has prioritized their (un)reality shows over dramas so we have to wait until the new year for most stuff.

I actually watch this show weekly (instead of binging) and kept waiting for the next episode not realizing that was it for the year so I think that’s why I noticed how short it was.

I finished Presumed Innocent on Apple. I thought it was very well done with a good cast. I much prefer to wait until the series is over so I can watch at my own pace but I got caught up in this one and watched each week. I think it would be even better watching straight through.

It's cheesy but he seems to enjoy stuff I enjoyed as a kid. Just wait, more cameos from the other movies will happen! We just finished the first part of the last season (there are three parts), so now we have to wait for Nov 15 for the next couple of episodes.

I am currently watching the Dallas Cheerleaders thing. I liked it when it was on CMT. It is a shorter season (7 episodes) and seems to focus more on the issues some of the girls deal with, rather than just the tryout process. It's kinda sad.

AussieMeg, I'm on season 3 and ITA that the first season was really good, but I'm not sure about the other two seasons. Season 3 is not that good, imho. Still, I want to watch until the end. The Sopranos is very entertaining, so far. We just finished episode 2. Just T, Your Honor was a very good show. I was bummed that it was cancelled after only 2 seasons.
