grammadee Today's Disney theme is 100% serependity! I love that this was one of your favourite reads as a child. What a great analysis of The Law of the Jungle being in its own way reminiscent of your childhood's "natural" social distancing. It must be such a trip down memory lane, remembering how it once was on the farm and contrasting it to today's life. So much has changed! And you witnessed it all. How wonderful. scrapcat The churning is half the work! I've had a busy Thursday myself so not much time to craft yet but getting there. So sorry about the supermarket tears. *safe distance hugs* How's the state of the shelves on your side of the world? Are people keeping their safe distance? lostwithout2peas Thank you for doing important work that's often overlooked. I'm so happy to read that this inspired you to grab some kits, an album and give yourself a crafty outlet during the day as you have some downtime at work. Yay! I bet it must be exhausting to hear the continuous news cycle non-stop. Hopefully, Mowgli and his friends can help you escape for a bit... Sorry about the difficulties of social distancing when you're such a close-knit family. Going from seeing each other almost daily to being on the phone and screen time must be a major upheaval. I hope you can figure out a way to have fun together in safe manner too: maybe a coffee and cake party via screen altogether? Or playing a game like Battleship through videochat together? Let us know how your day went!

I have a Tarzan page to do. I'm not sure how much I'll accomplish tonight, but I can at least take out materials and stare at them for awhile There will be green, I promise!

sleepingbooty You. are. amazeballs. I have to say thank you for the time, effort and attention to detail that you put into the first challenge and no doubt, all the challenges that are to come. Everyone who creates challenges for this board - our community wouldn't be the same without you smart and fiercely creative ladies. xoxo

msliz Ah Tarzan, a forever crush. Not the smartest or deepest guy around but reliable, honest and erm... dat booty (obviously, I'm a connoisseur)! peachiceteas Aww, you're making me blush behind my screen... Merci from the bottom of my black heart. I agree: this place wouldn't be the same without all the encouragers, the sharers, the cheerleaders and the challenge creators. But also, everyone participating in general: I adore 2PR's silly banter, 3000 detours in every single big discussion thread, skeptical eye, deals and promo code sharing, kindness and empathy. This is a gem of a community!

Good morning croppers! May sunshine fill your homes, may joy at the thought of getting creative fill your heart. 💖 How is your Thursday going so far? How's the weather? How is your mood? Let's all check in and make sure we're all doing fine. This is Day 1 of the #STAYATHOME Disney crop. I thought we'd all enjoy easing it into Walt's universe with a classic you very likely have seen (and probably quite a few times )... And don't forget there's a beautiful live action retelling to watch if you're in the mood for a modernised version! As a reminder, you're welcome to work on any project you feel like working on. The prompts are only here to guide and inspire those who might feel a little stuck or who like a bit of a challenge! ____________________
Today's inspiration comes from: THE JUNGLE BOOK
This 1967 classic has all the ingredients to make a dreamy movie of escapism: a luscious jungle setting, the tale of a boy raised by exotic animals, the exploration of the true meaning of family and coming of age. For today's crafting, be inspired by Mowgli's story! General themes: growing up, activities as a family, pets, the great outdoors, house plants + garden, being different = positive. Covid-19 documenting prompts: - How are you spending quality time as a family while confined? How are you including loved ones you can no longer see in your daily activities?
- Are you finding ways to keep connected to nature while confined? Are you gardening? Are you taking extra care of your indoor plants? Are you watching wildlife documentaries with the kids? Have you started a bucket list of things to do outside and nature-related places to see when this virus is under control?
- How are your pets enjoying having their humans at home 24/7? Have your daily habits with them changed? More walks, more snuggles? Maybe the little ones are taking on responsibilities in terms of feeding and play in their at-home schedule?
- Look for the bare necessities, the simple bare necessities! What's making your confinement easier and bringing you comfort while you and your family #STAYATHOME? Food, streaming services, apps, board and video games, crafting, etc. This could be the perfect moment to snap a photo of Toilet Paper Mountain, by the way. 😉
Graphic design: focus on green and botanical elements today. Think a little outside the box like a green background with contrasting neutral leafy die-cuts for a subtle but oh so pretty twist! Or use different shades of green to create extra depth in your layering work. Inspiration board: Song of the day: I'm so appreciative of all the time, effort, and creativity that went into this. Not to mention the encouragement and positivity. This is like mini LOAD. But for free. I hope everyone appreciates that this is pretty much a free class. Thanks for sharing your creativity and kindness so freely with us, sleepingbooty.

These two are ones that I started earlier this week and finished up today to make room for this weekend's Disney pages. I know a lot of scrappers don't care for Doodlebug because it's so over-the-top cutsie, but I had so much fun playing with it. The second one also has papers from an old Crate Paper 6x6 called Cute Girl. I was surprised by how well the colors paired with the Doodlebug.

Great pages, msliz! And so glad you had fun making them! Love the pinks paired with the teal. Lovely girlie colours. The donuts and macaroons on those PL cards look yummy (as does the IRL food pic's). Actually I think you are using some Doodlebug that is a little toned down from most of their pages. I really like their artwork: just hard to work with their over-the-top neon tones sometimes.

sleepingbooty - great theme and inspiration - love your pages. msliz - I've always liked Doodlebug and your pages are great - the Buche Noel page looks good enough to eat and I love the delicate butterflies/hearts on La Vie En Rose has anyone seen my motivation? I found my Disney album - it has a whopping ONE layout finished but couldn't find my Disney box...finally located it but can't seem to get started...

Plenty of time to get your Disney on... Now that you have the album and the Disney box, there is always tomorrow... or Saturday... or Sunday.... I am guessing that living in Florida, you may not feel the excitement the rest of us do about a trip to Disney. For us it is a plane ride to a resort or hotel, a complete escape from home. And don't forget you don't NEED to scrap Disney to be part of this crop. Lots of other ways to apply the prompts, too. If you are motivated to scrap something else, then scrap that!

sleepingbooty, thank you for hosting and posting! Tonight, it's "bare necessities" around here. DD and I are SEWING surgical masks! I'd call that "bare necessities". Today at work we were told that we would be getting one mask for the shift. The disposable masks are supposed to be changed every 20 minutes typically... And one communication (from infection control) clearly stated to wear a mask all day whenever working with patients (mine are not COVID positive, but for general principles...) but then my manager told us only to wear our mask in droplet isolation. So I figured that even a 2 layer cotton mask is better than an 8 hour old paper mask? And cuter! I don't sew except in my scrapbooks - you can imagine my amazement that we can do this, pleats and all. They are CUTE! I'll post a picture tomorrow. And I am smiling about the homeschooling side benefit to this project. DD is manning my sewing machine like a pro. Don't think I'll get scrappy tonight since we are set up in my scrap space, but tomorrow I will.

Thanks grammadee - actually living in Florida - we rarely go to Disney. I went with my mum and sister back in 1989 (when we were living in RI). My MIL took us all in 1998 when we first moved to Florida (day trip - DS was turning 7). And then this trip in 2009 when the kids were 2, almost 9, and 17). We stop in at Disney Springs fairly often for the Lego Shop and fish and chips when we're taking DD19 back and forth to college (in Orlando) but we've never managed to make it back to the parks. I know DD13 really wants to as she doesn't remember her only visit. DD19 went yearly in high school for the academic team competition though so perhaps DD13 will get to also. I do want to make some progress on this album though - I have all the photos and supplies...

I pulled out an old favorite tonight- Dear Lizzy Neapolitan. I love the soft colors in this collection. I’ll be scrapping some pictures of DD. In the back of my mind I’m thinking about how I can use Patio Party for sleepingbooty’s prompts. There’s lots of pretty greenery in it.

okay - I finally got a page done - it's the title page. I'm challenging myself to USE the embellishments/papers I already set aside for each page - I think these were Sandy Lion and Jolees. Started with the March 14 sketchy saturday sketch but meandered off in a different direction

Linda, your Disney pages are beautiful! Love the blues on your title page and that castle image to go with the iconic family photo with the Disney castle in the background! And I love how the terra cotta bricks in the photos you chose for the facing page match the pinks on the created page so well. Good choice! All the newer supplies use the bright reds and yellows and blues, but your pastel shades go PERFECTLY with your photos! I think you found your MOJO!

I scrapped two double page layouts yesterday. I’ll take pictures and post in a bit. This morning I need to empty my trash bins and vacuum so I’m ready for the crop. I should also figure out what I’m going to work on today...that would help! I love the pages posted and all of the encouragement and positivity here. Thanks sleepingbooty for all of your efforts!

Great LO's KelleeM ! Love the way you blocked the photos, leaving room around them for title and journaling and extras. AWESOME title for NO More Bad Hair Days! I love the pairing of grey with the colourful stripes on the second.

Finally took a minute to reestablish my flickr account and remind myself how to post photos. This is one of the Disney layouts I recently finished from a trip in 2017 during Mickey's Halloween celebration. I didn't take many photos and printed even less because I didn't want to turn into a huge project! Disney & universal layouts by Paper Goddess, on Flickr

scrapcat The churning is half the work! I've had a busy Thursday myself so not much time to craft yet but getting there. So sorry about the supermarket tears. *safe distance hugs* How's the state of the shelves on your side of the world? Are people keeping their safe distance? It wasn't so much the shelves, thankfully was able to get what I needed, but it was just seeing so many people in masks and just the tone of it. I hadn't been to the store in over 10 days, but it was clear to me the others there had already been and knew the drill of where to stand (behind lines of tape), wait for the cashier to spray & wipe down belt etc. It was all good once I caught on, but just a bit intimidating trying to not offend anyone's space, while keeping my own distance, but also trying to just get what i need and get the heck out! Also one guy had on an actual gas mask, which was just kinda scary to see. I just hope this is all temporary!

Apologies for being a bit late with today's prompt. We were sans internet for ten hours, eep! This is not the time for the network to give out on us. How is everyone? How has this Friday been treating you all so far? I see so many pretty projects in here and I can't wait to come back after dinner and comment on everyone's LOs and spreads! ____________________ Today's inspiration comes from: TANGLED
A girl locked in a tower for 18 years in the kingdom of - brace yourselves! - Corona (I kid you not)? We have found our leader! This is one of Disney's hidden gems: it is a tale of coming of age, daring to make life-altering decisions, standing up for oneself and thriving while surviving. We simply couldn't have a #STAYATHOME Disney crop without Rapunzel. Bonus gold star to our protagonist for being a very crafty lady who loves being creative.
General themes: travel, house chores, parenting + mother-daughter relationship, going on little adventures in your city/neighbourhood/region, dreams for the future, getting better/healing/health hiccups.
Covid-19 documenting prompts:
- How does your confinement schedule look like? How did you organise to work from home? How are your kids managing their new homeschooling routine?
- Record your #STAYATHOME hobbies. Are you scrapbooking more? Have your family members picked up old or new hobbies to keep busy? Is your spouse finally getting to his honey-do list? Are you enjoying cooking more these days?
- Document your rare outings. Do you still get to walk in the neighbourhood? Do you only go out for essential trips such as groceries? Do you take any protective measures for your outings nowadays (taking off shoes, bringing hand sanitiser, wearing a mask, etc.)? Have you had any reflections like taking something as simple as leaving the house for granted before?
- Mother knows best! Probably one of the best villain songs in the history of Disney but also such an amazing prompt. How did you explain to your kids that they were staying in? How did they take it? Are you noticing differences in how they're dealing with the confinement? Did you need to convince anyone to #STAYATHOME: spouse, parents, siblings, friends?
- Did you get around to any spring cleaning now you're spending more time at home? Do you have big plans? Are you using a particular method like a YouTube cleaning guru? Are you Marie Kondo-ing your wardrobe?
Graphic design: bring in the light! The most memorable scene from Tangled is the breathtaking lantern release. Thousands of lanterns float up in the dark sky around the castle, creating dots of light all around. Try to see how you can work around a light focal point on your project. Think about injecting a white/light-coloured focus to create a "tunnel of light" drawing the eye in (like the light of the sun). Or turn the lantern scene aesthetic on its head and inject all the colours of the rainbow on your project like droplets straight from the rainbow! Thank you grammadee for inspiring me for this graphic design prompt!

Thank you for doing all of this! Tangled is my favorite Disney movie, and I definitely have some photos to use for this one. I will be working on yesterday’s challenge first, and then this one. I’m a slow scrapper, but at least you got me to scrapbook again! Yesterday I decided to add the journaling to two layouts that I started a year and a half ago (the last time I actually scrapbooked anything). These two are actually separate layouts, but I used papers that coordinated, since they would be side by side in the album:
