grammadee , your day with dgs sounds like a parenting "win". And a homeschooling "win"! You should be very proud of that day. Mosquitoes prefer blood type O... I'm O+ and i'm always the one with the bites while everyone else is unaffected! My whole family is O+. DH's Mom told him he was A+ all his life...imagine his shock when he gave blood 5 years ago So genetically we were able to tell the kids that they can't be anything but zeros But mosquitos - we haven't figured out that pattern yet. And it intrigues me! DH and DD get swarmed. If we go for a hike, I just stay near Katie! They really don't like me and my oldest DH. It's comical. So, we all have the same blood type. And DD smells like me (actually, we can sweat up a storm and we just don't smell. DH is quite annoyed by us) and DS smells like DH (which is to say, he gets in the shower after any activity...) so it can't be that either! i don't handle the mask well either, i had a pretty one custom made a while back because i thought if it was pretty it would be easier to wear It *does* get easier. I feel less suffocated now. My biggest problem has been ear pain, but I was given a couple of strap clips which have helped mightily. I can even breathe better. Try using something - like a couple of paper clips or cable ties- to fasten the ear loops behind your head, and see if it's more bearable? nylene , Take care. The thought of organizing paper is scaring me I don't even know how to start that. I have several different "types" of organization - some old papers by colour; some old papers by manufacturer (but not even all together, it's often by age of paper, so I have ancient AC paper in one spot, medium old AC paper in another spot...); some papers by designer; some papers by theme ("rainbow", "girlie", "summer")... BUT.... I know where it is, and I don't want to mess that up! How would you organize? I have today off, then I work Easter weekend. We haven't made significant plans. We've pre-ordered fish and chips tomorrow, and I'm taking an order over to my Dad. And beyond that, we're just in negotiations as to food and egg hunt terms! Here's my get up at work these days. I have a couple of scrub hats now, but the kerchiefs are good in the rotation of hair coverings too! Untitled by kirstendrew, on Flickr

Easter was going to be a big family occasion: two of the kids with their families here for the weekend, plus dh's sister's family hosting Good Friday and here for Sunday dinner. A community Easter Egg hunt at the fire hall.
Then COVID.
Then there was going to be NOBODY here. I had not planned for an Easter meal at all b/c I was thinking it would just be dh & me.
Then dsil and family arrived to stay for 3 weeks after isolating for 2 weeks at their home. So we had 4 adults & one kid here. Dsil picked up a small turkey for Sunday dinner for 4 adults and one kid. I had stocked up earlier on egg colouring kits. We got some white eggs.
Then our oldest dgs (20 years old) asked if he could come here with his girlfriend for the week. He swears they have been "going nowhere" and being "really careful" with contacts. I said okay, and they arrived day before yesterday, cleaned all their stuff coming into the house and are following protocol with towels, sinks, etc. Not going anywhere. Planning to be here until they plan to leave on Monday(?). So now we have SIX adults and one kid in the house.
Dh is missing his Ukrainian food that usually his sister prepares. So I split up the Ukrainian meal. We are having boiled perogies and grilled garlic sausage from the freezer tonight. Then tomorrow I will cook fried fish and potato pancakes for Good Friday.
Told 20-yr-old he needs to be vertical for 11:00AM Friday for the egg colouring. Texted the other cousins and threw out an egg colouring contest so they will send photos.
I had acquired Easter bunny stuff when I heard the 7 yr old would be here. Will cook the turkey for Sunday. No ham or cabbage rolls (they usually come from my sister in law).
Easter plans? I seem to remember vaguely that there is such a thing as long term plans... I am just rolling with the flow...

Told 20-yr-old he needs to be vertical for 11:00AM Friday for the egg colouring. DD rolled out of bed at 11:15, DS (19) at 11:30, and DS (20) at noon (it's his "weekend", he works hard, full time). But, DD is currently hitting the weight bench in the backyard. She has online school work, and 5 days a week she has 3 hours of living room dance class via zoom. My poor hardwood + tap shoes And she will be starting to work at the local big grocery store, overnight shift (11-7), packing online orders! Um, wow, is that a LOT different than pre-covid life for her! I got a layout finished last night! layout baby shower by kirstendrew, on Flickr

Hi Scrappy friends!
I hope that you are all doing okay. I wanted to check on Nylene, I usually "see" her on the scrapbook.com site and I noticed she hadn't been on in a while, so wanted to be sure that she is okay.
Nylene - I hope your kidneys are feeling better and that you are on the mend. Hugs to you sweet friend!
kitbop - I love that LO, it is so pretty! I like the size of the photos and that you were able to get several on the page without it looking crowded. The repetition of the circles looks great too!
I've been doing a bunch of scrapping over the past few days. I work in child abuse prevention, so we have been slammed busy since all of this Covid mess started. It's been nice to have the weekend off to be able to knock out a few pages.
Hope you are all having a nice Easter!

Happy Easter! It's been a very laid back weekend here. An attempt at sugar cookies with bub. I used a recipe that I had used in the past when my kids were small. I stopped using it for some reason. And yesterday I was reminded why I stopped using it. The dough doesn't always turn out right after it's been refrigerated. We fought hard for 6 cookies before it went in the trash.
Picked up pizza for dinner - the first take out I've had since mid-March. Water painting, and movies. Nice and chill. Today has been more of the same. No dinner being cooked here, just left over pizza lol. I've done a bit of scrapping finally. I miss it and I'm ready to get back to it. I can't believe how out of sorts I feel, even though very little changed of my day to day.
I hope everyone is having a wonder Easter Sunday! The egg coloring contest sounds like so much fun! We may need to steal that idea for next year with cousins!

I need to let you know that I will be out of commission for a little while. I had a terrible night Thurs and by Friday morning my Dr. sent in the Home Health nurses. I am on IV antibiotics plus another infusion. Emily comes to help change out the bags and has been so good. I do nothing but sleep. I wake up for an hour and go back to sleep for 3. I guess that's what I need. I feel good about the protocol for now while they prefer I not go to the hospital or a clinic until the Covid is gone. I will keep in touch when I can, but my scrapping is probably over for this month.
Hugs to all.

LisaDV I just didn't like that picture lol.I'm sure I'll be changing it up again because I'm not crazy about the avatar either lol. #stayathomeboredom lol We got the official word that our city is staying on stay home orders until May 15th. This is really starting to feel like normal now and I'm starting to forget what it was like before and I can't imagine things ever going back to what they were before. I will be glad when families are allowed to gather again. I can't even imagine how hard this must be for people like nylene or gramma that aren't seeing kids and grands.

I get to start the actual real paint color in the living room today. It's only taken a year to get to this point. I took the wallpaper down last April. Then DS's wallpaper. Then DH said we should just do one room at a time. Well, the living room needed the topping put over the drywall. I was really afraid of doing this and thought we needed a professional. I finally did that in February. March was just a lost month. I sanded, washed, taped, spackled a few mistakes, sanded, and primed all this month. The color is indigo batik and I'm really afraid it will be too dark but kind of excited too. I'm usually a creamy caramel with more tuscany styled colors, golden ochre, rust, hunter green. I'll come back and post a photo of the color when I'm done. DH is going to paint the ceiling this weekend. Then we can clean the bookshelves and the ceiling beams. ugh. The kitchen cabinets took about 2 weeks at least to clean the nicotine then polish. This should be easier since it's only one wall of shelving but I'm so not looking forward to it. I am looking forward to the room being finished. DS is ready to start the next room too and has offered to help take off the wallpaper once we're finished with the living room. We may finish the main floor before 2025. Oh, and we woke to snow today. Two days ago we had a light dusting but today it's at least 2 inches and it's still snowing. Awe, spring. Brother is not happy with the Michigan cold/snow. We warned him that the warm up last week was probably temporary and it's not uncommon for snow into May. The last frost date is May 15th here. He just didn't want to believe it. Suppose to be in the 50s this weekend though. What's on your weekend agenda? grammadee, do you still have company? joyfulnana, any Rudy plans? did you get your mojo back? I just downloaded and backed up photos so I think I'm getting a bit of mine back. kitbop, are you off work? justjac, loving your colored images for 100 day project. Any plans for the weekend? kellyr21, hope you are well. check in when you get a chance. nylene, please rest and know we are thinking of you, sending healing thoughts and prayers your way. msliz, you've been doing a lot of scrapping, are you scrapping this weekend too? gramma, I hope you won't be working over the weekend. Has worked slowed down any? patin, @knutchen, woodysbetty, ABCreations, hope you are all well.

Good Friday morning! LisaDV , I am amazed at how you can do all that work in the home you are living in. Each one of those tasks fills me with anxiety just to think about it. I would not want to be trying to accomplish it. Glad that you dh & ds are doing some of the work, too. Snow and rain expected for today again here. Temps hovering around freezing. We have had melting all night the last couple of nights, and the snow is definitely starting to shrink. The creeks are starting to run. Unfortunately, the culvert in our drive is still frozen full of ice, so the water is rising on one side and starting to wash OVER the trail. Over the week, Dsil helped dh to chop through some ice and make room for a submersible pump so they could pump the water across the driveway to where it wants to go without taking the road with it. The 20 year old and gf left on Wednesday. They really seemed to enjoy hanging out here, playing cards, doing jigsaw puzzles, entertaining the 7 year old. The 7 year old and his dad and aunt plan to leave after lunch today. The whole family may be back next Wednesday or Thursday for a few days (dd included this time), but we have a few days to decompress now. I had dgs for most of the day yesterday on my own while his dad was away at work, Grampa was working with his nephew and the cows, and Auntie was working remotely from her room upstairs, and I was exhausted by end of day. Still wound up, so I took an Atavan. Slept like a rock and feel great this morning. After the crew leaves, my only task is to make a little room on my scrap counter and find the class kit that arrived at my doorstip earlier in the week. This evening, justjac and I are enrolled in an on-line class with our LSS. Need to create a couple of bd cards for family this weekend, and I really want to play with some of the sketches and challenges. Have an idea for my April calendar page, but will need to print the photos here which is not my usual MO. msliz are there any chats planned for this weekend? I need to download Zoom for the LSS class, so I will now be inept in both Hangouts and Zoom. Also have House Party on my ipad to chat with dgk's but we have never done a group chat there. Thanks for tagging everyone. Waving to them, too... Please recover soon, nylene ....

I've been working like a mad woman. Our internal audit starts on Monday so I've been hip deep in prep for that. Then this ^&*())(** COVID19 situation has it's own set of problems. We are being allowed to request special funding from our funding source to pay for "extra ordinary" overtime. The documentation for that makes the audit prep look like a walk in the park. Then - I've made something like 200 masks for our staff, some friends and friends of friends. I'm pooped. I finished the first round of audit prep and sent off a draft of the overtime funding request. Today I. AM. NOT. WORKING. I am going to play with card making and mask making. I miss my kids and my kids' kids. Funny that we don't see them every day or every week but now that there are restrictions I want them all here. Of course I know that after a few hours I'd be ready to send them all home. One of the grand-daughters brought us some supplies yesterday and left with 6 card kit sets to put together. She cannot go to work since she is a swim instructor and says she is really bored. Card making will keep her busy for a bit. ;-) I really count myself lucky. I'm in good health, my job has not been affected other than working from home and my family is all healthy. grammadee Isn't it fun having one of the grands there? Isn't it exciting when you see the little backside heading out the door? Your grandkids will have so much to remember of you. Lucky kids!! LisaDV We were just starting to get ready for some home remodel when COVID19 came along. New floors, kitchen gut and painting. Thank goodness we had not started tearing anything out. Wallpaper - ah wallpaper. You have my sympathy Our scrap group has done a couple of virtual get togethers but since they have been during work hours I haven't been able to participate. They are doing one tomorrow and I hope to join in. I really enjoyed the ones the Peas did. OK - off to sew. Stay safe and check in everyone. <3 <3 <3

Ya GOT me! . It's funny what they DO remember. Felt really good to hear my oldest dgs telling the little guy stories about stuff HE used to do with me. Some of them were things I had planned for those kids when they were younger, but some were just random memories that I hadn't thought about for years. Dgs20 insisted throughout the HE was my NUMBER ONE GRANDCHILD (technically correct) and was therefore "Gramma's favourite".

LisaDV, oh yes, no change to my work schedule! I'm glad I have a normal routine and people to interact with, but - the hospital is very strange and different. LENGTHY REPLY FEEL FREE TO SKIP OVER NOW!!! And often I feel grumpy that I'm working 120% and at risk of exposure, while my friends and family get to "work from home" at 50% work but full pay. Most of our friends are those lucky white-collar workers (government, bank, computer) who can make this work. For example my BIL gets to play video games all day with my DH but still collect his pay for 1-2 hours of computer work. It's hard to describe what I do. And it's frustrating when my Mom keeps saying "why are you still working? Why are you essential". GRRRRRRRR! People arrive with a specific illness (say, "confusion and weakness from a severe bladder infection", or the current "covid penumonia") but have layers of other issues - dementia, old stroke, arthritic hips, dependent on a walker, hoarder at home and family not coping, homeless and burned down their tent, alcoholic, 500 lbs... Oh yes, it gets unbelievable. As a physio in acute care, some examples of what I do: 1. Keep people moving when they are sick. Being immobile can kill you. And lengthens an illness. Bedrest = nasty business. I am half-carrying people sometimes. Even sitting up can be hard. And managing all the IVs, tubes, oxygen, drains etc... We even put people in chairs while they are on ventilators. 2. Help people get strong enough to leave the hospital after being sick 3. Help people recover from a stroke, head injury, MS flare etc. etc. 4. Helping people learn to move around after a broken bone (hip, leg, pelvis) or two. People often break multiple bones in bad falls or accidents. I've had many "customers" with 2 broken legs, 2 broken arms, and a broken neck or pelvis... Even breaking an arm is crippling for someone who depends on a walker to walk normally. 5. Breathing exercises or chest physio with people with respiratory issues (COPD, pneumonia, post-surgery). I've never scrapped anything about my job. I'm not sure what pictures I'd use. But obviously (based on my lengthy response to Lisa's simple "are you still working?") it's something I should put in there as a catharsis for me!!!

Hi ladies! Oh man kitbop! You do a lot! And are very essential! I'm sorry you are so overloaded and having a rough time. I'm still working at home like always so no extra down time for me either LisaDV It doesn't seem like a year that you guys bought that house! It's gone so fast! You're paint sounds interesting. I can't wait to see it! Mojo is slowly coming back. I've got some new photos and that always helps. nylene you've been on my mind. I hope you will feel up to checking in soon and are feeling better. grammadee I can't believe how exhausting it is to keep a DGK all day! When Rudy was smaller I had to have a 2 hour nap after he left! lol. It's better now that he's older, but still exhausting. gramma I'm sorry you are missing your kids and DGK's. I feel like I'm cheating since I still see my older son and DGS about once a week or so. I haven't seen my youngest since Christmas and I have no idea when I will be seeing him again. Hopefully for his bday in June. I saw you were mailing masks to peas in need. Thank you so much for all you are doing! I have laundry I'm doing and I have already been out to pick up groceries. I'm going to be scrapping soon and hope to join in msliz hangout. I want to get my LO done for my sketch next week. I'm hoping that will get the juices flowing again. I need to order more prints so I can start putting page kits together for We Create - I'm hoping that will still happen. Although I'm not sure how comfortable I will feel in a room of 300 women for 3 days by then. I hope everyone is staying safe!

Happy Saturday all! My family and dh are ok. Just took a break from my social media for a while. All the news and crisis info was overwhelming. But we are hanging in just like all of you. Boy, have I missed you ladies!!!! Dh is working with three days from home. So grateful for that. I am just doing lots self care and praying for us all. Ok now some fun news: I have been working on a new blog called Inspired Me 411. It is a arts and crafts resource directory of info I have used over the years. I thought this would be a good time to share it with everyone. Click Here I have had fun working on it over the last month and hope it helps others. I will still be blogging on my original blog, Inspired Me. Now I have two blogs to play with! LOL! So stop by and share it with family and friends if you like. Also, I have been doing some art, and still crocheting that hat I started months ago. I had to start all over with the hat. I realized after I was done that it was the wrong dimensions. I was so bummed out but decided to start over. So now I think I am almost done. I will share it when I finish. Glad to see you all taking care of yourselves and your families. I gotta go back and catch up with you. I see nylene was sick. I hope you are taking it easy and feeling better. Hugs to you!

kitbop, Are you a physical therapist? or a nurse in Physical Therapy? I had thought you were a nurse. Regardless, all of the medical staff is essential right now down to the cleaning crew. But if I were your mom I'd be questioning why you are essential too, not because I don't know, but because I wouldn't want you there and being exposed. I cannot imagine the level of anxiety that must run through all of the medical facilities on a daily basis. It can't be good for anyone's mental health. I hope that when you are off work you can find a way to detox and unwind. Sending you big hugs. You would have been the person that was getting my MIL up and going after her back surgery! I don't envy you that job. You should do a page about what you do! I know I'm so lucky that DH gets to work from home. But his work from home is WFH! He has a conference call every day at 8am. Some days start at 7:00 am. A few days a week he's lucky to get a sandwich for lunch between calls and work duties. Depending upon the day he could be finished at 5 or 5:30. Which is nice since there is no commute time. Although the last few weeks, he's also had a call later in the evening at least once a week. With operations all over the world, sometimes early morning or late night calls are necessary to accommodate different time zones. Again I feel very lucky that he's safe at home, but he still is working a lot. Those companies that are paying people to WFH but the people aren't working, well, eventually money runs out and those people might get laid off. Are you rested up now, grammadee? I know you were going to do some scrap work, but after a visit like that I think I would just veg out for at least a day. Good thing DSIL was there to help out with the ice/water flow issue. DGS20 isn't wrong he is your number one! DH is the oldest and tells his parents the same thing. I wonder if it's an oldest thing or an oldest boy thing? gramma, I'm so glad you took yesterday off! You've been working so much. Although your down time still seems really busy with the sewing. I'm sure your DGD will love the card kits you made for her. I think just the situation in general makes us want our loved ones where we can see them and know they are safe. I'm sorry you're missing yours right now. justjac, the Canadian schools aren't doing remote learning then? msliz, will you be hosting a hangout next weekend too? I might be able to join next weekend. Woo Hoo to your mojo is coming back, joyfulnana. kellyr21, I’m so glad you are okay. Thanks for checking in. I will hopefully check out the new blog as soon as possible. I had a pharmacy pick up and just driving of DH’s truck to do first off this morning. He had not driven it since March 12th, so it was necessary. I was a little sadden to see his gas tank was full when I drove past the gas station advertising gas for $1.49!!! In the living room, DH took all the ceiling things (fixtures, speaker covers, smoke detectors, etc) down today. I realized that I will be doing the bulk of the taping off the beams and the painting. He wants to help, he does, but it turned nice….and the outdoors calls to him. Also, without the chiropractor visits his pinched nerve, that was feeling much better has started acting up again, which meant lots of breaks for him today. I’ll just keep plugging away at it. Taping the beams and working above my head for a shortie like me is more difficult work, plus I’m a bit afraid of ladders when they aren’t right next to the wall. But I’ll muscle through and get it done. Hopefully, I can have the ceiling finished by next weekend. Then DH will help with the clean-up of the room. nylene, hope the IV is working and you’re healing.

msliz , will you be hosting a hangout next weekend too? I might be able to join next weekend. It all depends on the weather report. If the weather is good, there's work waiting for me in my garden. But if the weather is lousy, I'll open a link and we can scrap all day! kitbop , you're pretty amazing. kellyr21 , your new blog looks great. I always love seeing your paintings and crafts. I'm so glad you included Julie Fei-Fan Balzer in your list for art inspiration. I'm a big fan too! Linda , I hope you find your spirit again soon after you've had some rest. The stress of things can be a lot for a person to deal with, and you've already been through so much in recent months. Don't push yourself too hard. (((hugs))) Thinking of you nylene and hoping you're feeling stronger every day.

Another thing I have been doing is cooking and cooking! I can't remember when I have cooked this much. I made a crockpot beef dish today. I am still new to crockpot cooking so it feels like an adventure. I posted the recipe on the New Recipe Challenge thread in our NSBR section. linda - Hang in there! LisaDV - I know what you mean about husband's WFH schedule. I am just grateful he is working and able to slow down some from his regular schedule. And yes, he has those calls and webinars. So we are working around each other. msliz - Thanks! I still can't believe I made all that art & stuff! Yes, Julie is one my favorites. I learned art journaling from her and that lead me to try painting. Waving hey to you all and have a good evening!

Linda, I missed your post yesterday. I'm sorry you've been in a funk. You've done so much scanning and organizing that you deserve a break!! Right now, it can be mentally hard. Give yourself permission to just relax and focus on other things. So I saw you were getting the imperfect foods boxes. Do you like them? I got 1 box and I've been skipping since. I just wasn't a fan of the produce for the price. I keep thinking I should give them another shot. Tips? Recommendations?
