Linda , I missed your post yesterday. I'm sorry you've been in a funk. You've done so much scanning and organizing that you deserve a break!! Right now, it can be mentally hard. Give yourself permission to just relax and focus on other things. So I saw you were getting the imperfect foods boxes. Do you like them? I got 1 box and I've been skipping since. I just wasn't a fan of the produce for the price. I keep thinking I should give them another shot. Tips? Recommendations? Thanks Lisadv I have the Misfits Produce box - I get the small every week now. I think what's key for me is that I wait until it arrives to make my menu and shopping list and work the menu around the produce so it actually gets used. We were in a bit of a rut produce-wise and the box is helping us try things we might not otherwise - either because it's not available at Aldi or because we don't know if we would like it and thus don't buy it. No one cared for rainbow chard, kale isn't anyone's favourite but it works as part of a salad or as a bed for Greek chicken, bok choy was a surprising hit. The quality has been good - no issues there. The box is more than I was spending on fresh produce each week but that's in part due to a reliance on frozen and in part because it's more produce than we were using weekly - and different produce. For me - the health benefits of more produce and more variety of produce plus trying new things is worth spending a bit more. I think so long we're eating it all each week (or before it turns - some things last a bit longer than a week) and it's not going to waste - then it's worth it for me. But I don't have easy access to a farm stand and there are no CSAs in my area. We also like the surprise of getting it in the mail each week - I'm having the kids open with me and see what we've gotten (as it varies week to week) This week we got acorn squash, zucchini, cucumber, rainbow carrots, celery, mango, apples, mandarines, lettuce, radishes, red potatoes, and red onions.

Good Sunday(?) morning! My computer says it is Sunday... hard to keep track these days... Thanks, LisaDV , for keeping track of everyone while nylene is ill. How is the ceiling painting going? My shoulders ache just thinking about it. Hope you show us some pic's of the living room when it is completed. You are in my thoughts, nylene . And thanks for telling us about your work, kitbop . Such an essential service. I had flashbacks when I read your post about 25+ years ago when I had toxic shock and could not move without help. The staff at the hospital were SO good to me. I remember the feeling of celebration I had when they lifted me out of bed for the first time with a sling and positioned me in a chair! The ventilator had been disconnected, but I still had the chest tubes and IV and various other tubes bringing fluids in and out of me. It was so exciting to be sitting up! And so exhausting... Linda , I hope you begin to feel more of your usual pep soon. But until you do, please be kind to yourself. You have been through so much these past few months and your mind and body need to recover. If dh is working from home and dd is doing on line schooling, that is your excuse to relax with a book--you need to be quiet , right?--in your room or out in the yard. Thanks for checking in, kellyr21 . Looks like you have done a great job on your new blog. I am sure it will be helpful to lots of crafters. Community is SOOO important, especially now, and I feel blessed to have found this place on the web to call home. How about you, you hard working grammas gramma and joyfulnana ? Have you had a chance to get some much needed rest this weekend? I had a nap Friday afternoon, then did a LSS page class on line with justjac in the evening. First scrapping I have done this month! Yesterday I joined msliz and kitbop and justjac on Hangouts for awhile and was able to put together a couple of cards and a couple of pages. Dh was outside most of the day, so that made the house wonderfully quiet, but he needed help from time to time to reposition a pump he is using to pump run off water into the creek where it belongs. When he needs my help, he calls the home phone from his cell. Very high tech for us! Here is the LO: how we roll by Gramma Dee, on Flickr While looking for dgs's bike photos, I came across another set of last summer's photos that had not made a sb page yet, so this morning I hope to scrap them using one of KikiPea 's April challenges and some PhotoPlay Tula & Norbert supplies. Might as well USE the space I cleared off for the Hangout session yesterday...

That’s a different box than I had, Linda. I could see a box helping someone get out of a veggie rut. We’ve been really lucky to live around foodie towns so we have always had access to lots of variety, and we’re foodies. I forget sometimes that there are areas that don’t have that. My Sister reminds me occasionally when I’m talking about something and she’ll tell me unless she travels 2 hours she can’t get it. My kids don’t like kale either, except DD loves homemade kale chips. I make a ground turkey, carrot kale breakfast hash that only DH and I love. I also like it in soups and smoothies. None of us like fresh mango, although I have bought them for smoothies. That layout is gorgeous, grammadee. Love the color, the grouping and the bike tires placed throughout. I’m fighting the urge to stay holed up in the craft room creating layouts or doing something that I should be - laundry, broth making, cooking, taping more beams on the ceiling. DH is actually doing the second beam now. A sneak at the room in progress And now the taping of the ceiling. The ceiling should have been first, but We like to do things backwards.

wow - lots of work there LisaDVYeah -we're rural - and I do 99% of my shopping at Aldi which carries the basics in produce but nothing particularly unusual. grammadee - love that layout with all the circles and that awesome background paper Hi to everyone else - I'm sorry - I've read the thread but going back and commenting is beyond me right now I did finally finish scanning the album that's been on my desk all week in progress, Pulled another one to scan now - it's smaller so hopefully will go quicker.

Happy Sunday everyone. I'm back to work tomorrow, but it's a short week as I had booked Th/Fri off for a dance competition...an epoch ago when such things existed. I decided to keep the vacation time even tho we're just housebound LisaDV, sounds like your DH has as much going on as ever, plus trying to coordinate from home! I sympathize with people who have young kids and are trying to WFH too...impossible...I am SO grateful my kids are at this age, working, good company, independent! I'm really glad you gave me the description of what your DH is up to. It reminds me that my BIL, and our (banker) best friends - their WFH lives are not typical. I watched a bit of that "one world" special today, and there was a bit about primary school teachers going above and beyond to connect with their students. They are wonderful people. I also needed that reminder, because my DDs high-school teachers are doing very little thus far, and my dd has very little work or material to learn from! So easy to judge these days. My Mom was complaining about young man in the grocery store who would not follow the rules, the arrows, stay away from people. I reminded her that the other 99% of people, like her, were being "good citizens" and we should try not to fall into the "everybody is an idiot" trap when we see ONE example. LisaDV - what is that big black part of the wall? I can't figure it out! linda - your produce box sounds yum! this week. We normally go to a farmers market every Saturday. We can get pretty much everything because some of the vendors are local growing farmers, but some of the vendors purchase from the food docks so it's all the international produce as well. We're very spoiled!

A quick reply: LisaDV - what is that big black part of the wall? I can't figure it out! In the top photo the big dark blue spot is the wall. The second photo is a wider shot of that same area. This time with covering up the wall, the ceiling beams and the built-in bookcase and fireplace. So I assume you are meaning the fireplace which is behind plastic sheeting.

Hi Everyone! I was hoping to sit down & write a nice chatty update to everyone & comment on all your doings, but..... My DH had a heart attack. The bad one .The one they call the Widow Maker. He is in critical care tonite. With all the covid stuff i cant see him. They did flight for life. Quite the event for my little rural neighborhood. My neighbor brought me to the hospital. You can only see a patient if they are in emergency. I was whisked back ( after security & umpteen Covid questions.) Long enough for both of us to tell each other we loved each other. I started to pray for him & they gently told me they needed to take him to the cath lab & I had to go home. They said they would call. 4 hours later I called the hospital. I had to "prove " who I was. They gave me a password. I got to speak with him for a couple of minutes. The nurse apologized that the Dr. Hadn't called me. They put in a stent & are just trying to stabilize his heartbeat & blood pressure. They are also concerned about bleeding. We would appreciate your prayers.

Oh no, patin! Thank goodness they got him into the hospital in time for them to put a stient in! And that you got to see him and talk to him if only for a moment. The last time my dh had a stent put in, it took hours for the bleeding to stop, but they got it under control. The blood thinners really play havoc with clotting. But they also help the stent to do its job. Hoping all is well now. Try to get some rest if you can. (((((HUGS)))))

patin, I will be praying for you and your husband. I am glad things are stabilizing. nylene, I hope you get to feeling better soon. I am just checking in quickly. I am about to go to bed because I work tonight. Things are still slow at the hospital since all this started. I feel less people are going to the ER plus surgery only doing anything that is necessary. I have to get checked at the door and wear a mask now at work. I had a short vacation planned next week and ready for a bit of a break from work. My scrapbooking weekend got canceled which I am not surprised. My friend and I will just have to video chat to get some scrapping time together! I hope everyone is staying safe.

Happy Tuesday! It is a nice warm day here so I am enjoying the sunshine. Thanks for all you who visited my new blog. Subscribe if you can. I am very excited to see how it grows. I am working on a welcome video to post there. Man, I am laughing at how many takes I had to do. LOL! It is still a little nerve racking to see myself on video talking. But the more I did it the more relaxed I got. So I hope to do a few more takes today and have it up on the blog this week. I will let you all know. Craft wise, I will be finishing my crochet hat and I ordered more paints to do a lot of art in the coming days. I have been so busy working on my blog I haven't been on my art table as much. But I am ready to get my painting on. knutschen- Waving hi to ya and hope your schedule stays light. How are your fur babies? Take care all and have a good rest of the day!

Hi, Pokeys. I am headed to bed but wanted to post a quick note. I am finished with all the infusions and my Dr. has turned me over to an Infectious Disease Specialist and the Nephrologist. I am hoping because I am feeling well again that there will be no further treatment until after this Virus leaves and we are no longer locked down.
I'll hop on tomorrow and read and comment. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers.

Things are still slow at the hospital since all this started. I feel less people are going to the ER plus surgery only doing anything that is necessary. I have to get checked at the door and wear a mask now at work. Glad to hear from you! We have been screened entering the hospital for about a month now. Last week, they started "banding" us, we get a wrist band like you'd get at a rock concert to show we've been screen. Today, our hospital took in 20 covid+ patients from a local nursing home that is overwhelmed (121 pts, 41 staff who are covid+) and my surgical floor took 10 of them. They're together in one hallway which we are no longer supposed to walk down unless we have to. This is the twilight zone... nylene , I sure hope you feel fantastic soon! Scrapping wise? I spend at least half my free time playing ipad games because it's brainless and zones me out. Then I scrap for an hour before bed, if I don't go to bed early. That is exactly what I am deciding right now. It's 9:30 - could go either way grammadee...you know, I always forget I can "like" a post

sorry I've been in a funk and not posting on my regular threads - I'm not scrapping, not scanning much, just blah... so there's not much to post I'm the same linda . Not feeling too chatty with everything going on, but I'm slowly adjusting to this and starting to feel a little more interested in things outside COVID LisaDV I see you changed your avatar as well. I swear those computer generated are better than any picture I have of myself Working from home is no joke! One of my coworkers used to give me crap about spending time watching Netflix during work. He didn't understand that when I'm "at work" it feels like I'm at work, it's a whole different vibe even on slow days. Now he is working from home temporarily and finally understands! lol. Every one at our office and plant are still coming to work everyday and fortunately we have no cases of COVID that I've heard about. Yay! kellyr21 ! So happy you checked in! I will have to check out your blog! patin ! Oh no! I hope your DH is doing better! How horribly scary and then to not be able to be there with him is more horrible. I will be praying! nylene so happy to see you checking in as well and that you are feeling better! I'll be thinking of and praying for you as well! I hope everyone is doing well. My job is trying to kill me I swear. We are still pretty slow, but things are picking up as people anticipate things opening up. I was hoping to enjoy the slow days. Nope. Got tasked with listening in on the new guys call for training. It is exhausting and stressful! I think because I have no idea what he's going to say and I'm not controlling the direction the calls go lol. But even with all of that, I'm very grateful that I was already WFH, and that so far I'm not being affected financially. My oldest nephew and his wife work for Lifetime Fitness, and live in GA. I'm so concerned about them with the businesses they are telling to reopen there. Why only the industries that have such close contact with their customers???!! kitbop - I'm glad they are working to keep you safe, but what's going on in the nursing home and rehab facilities is so heartbreaking. I don't see how they can allow visitors to those places until there is a working vaccine. And I fear they will die sooner from loneliness and broken hearts. Ugh. Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well and you and your families are staying safe. msliz , will you be hosting a hangout next weekend too? I might be able to join next weekend. It all depends on the weather report. If the weather is good, there's work waiting for me in my garden. But if the weather is lousy, I'll open a link and we can scrap all day! This is a Rudy weekend, and I don't know what plans they have for me yet, bit if looks quiet I would love to join in again. Maybe I can host for a few hours. Scrapping with msliz last weekend definitely helped spark the mojo a bit.

I am feeling even better today. I got up and did some vacuuming and was ready to sit down and read and chat. Sorry this is so long, but I am sooo behind. patin, I am so sorry about your husband. What an awful time that you can’t be by his side. I am glad they were able to stabilize him. I hope that he is making continual progress. Please let us know when you can. You and he are in my prayers. Hugs to you! gramma, I am sorry that this is such a busy time for you and that the quarantine makes things harder. I hope the audit goes well. No wonder you can so quickly make the team spreadsheet. That is right up your alley! I understand about missing family and grandchildren in particular. I’ll be glad when this is over. joblackford, thanks for the well wishes. I have really missed seeing your cards. I will check out the gallery and the team thread later today. I hope you have made and posted more of your classy cards. msliz, thanks for the prayers and good wishes. I see that you have hosted some virtual crops. I wish I had the know-how to participate, but then I’d have to clean at least one area of my scraproom! Hope things are well with you. How are your girls doing being stuck at home? kitbop, thank you for sharing what you do as a physio. You are one busy lady! What a frightening time this must be for you and your co-workers as you are in such close proximity with active Covid cases. You and all those who are on the front lines are in our prayers daily. I am sorry that you are in this position. How is your daughter keeping up with her dancing through this? joyfulnana, I didn’t recognize you! Cute new avatar. I miss your face but I’m sure it’s fun to have a change. I read that this is a Rudy weekend, so I'm assuming that you get to see him occasionally. It’s so hard to be separated from the grands. I am sorry that things are picking up again at work. I was hoping you would have a reprieve while people are not vacationing. @hi, kellyr21, I’m glad you and Ron are doing well. I have not been on the computer so haven’t yet checked your new blog, but will do that later today. What fun that you are busy with new crafts. I want to see your hat when you finish. BTW, I love that avatar photo. You are gorgeous. Did you get your new glasses? We need a photo. Linda, hugs to you. I hope you get your mojo back. This being at home all the time brings such strange feelings, doesn’t it? I was feeling “at loose ends” earlier in the quarantine. Just not able to accomplish much. Take care of yourself. You have been running a mile a minute for many months and maybe just need some down time. grammadee, what fun to have lots of company, and what a relief when they all leave. I checked out your calving photos before I got sick. Such a sweet and miraculous experience. I will check out your layouts later today. It seems you had some great times with your older and younger DGS. What a joy! justjac, thank you for the card. It arrived just as I was feeling better, so was perfect. I hope your 100 day projects are posted in the gallery. I will hunt them down later today. LisaDV, I didn’t recognize you! Fun new avatar! You are the most ambitious Pokey! I agree with grammadee, the thoughts of all that home updating make me anxious. We need to do some painting, but probably won’t for a while. It looks like you are doing a beautiful job and the result will make for a happy place in your home. How is your DH enjoying the work from home? knutschen, thanks for checking in. I have been thinking of you and kitbop who are on the front lines of this crisis. I’m glad you have some time off. Please take good care of yourself. How are your sweet pets doing? I just want to thank you all for your care and concern. I love the opportunity we have to be part of one another’s lives. You are the best! I really missed being on the computer and chatting. My IV’s were in my hands and they were blowing out so often that I was told to do NOTHING! They said I could eat, but nothing else so that they didn’t have to keep replacing them. They knew what they were talking about, because once I stopped doing anything, I didn’t need a replacement. Hugs to all. Have a great day.

Happy Wednesday night! I hope you all had a good day. I think I finished my new blog welcome video. I worked on it all afternoon and i hope to get it up by Friday. Yay! Outside of that, it was just a regular day full of cooking, and other routine things. joyfulnana- Great seeing you too. Hugs to ya my friend. nylene- So glad you are feeling better!!!!! I hope you continue to get stronger and back to your regular routines. Yes, I have been active creating and boy has it been good medicine and fun. That crochet hat took me through some changes and I will be glad to see how it turns out. Thank you for the compliment! I think you are gorgeous, too. This is another one of my car selfies I take when I am waiting in the car. Ron giggles when he sees me taking them. LOL! Yeah, my glasses are ready but with this crisis going on, I am waiting to pick them up. I hope to have them soon. I need them!!! Waving hello and have a super duper day, all!

nylene!! So glad you are feeling better and felt up to posting! I feel so bad that you and gramma aren't seeing your grands. I know that's really hard when you are used to seeing them often. I mentioned this is a Rudy weekend - I text DS to see if Rudy was staying overnight at all and this was the reply - "hahahahaha Rudy says "I would gladly actually sleep over here two nights. One with you and one without you. And guess what? I would gladly still visit her today. Because guess what? I actually, really miss her" He cracks me up and melts me at the same time. So it looks like my weekend is going to be all booked up. I think we will rent the new Trolls movie one night. After seeing that another meat packing plant is closing due to COVID I went on a panic buy meat run shopping trip. It's hard to stock up too much since my freezer is still pretty full and it wasn't true panic buying, just one each of chicken, beef and pork lol. But I feel a bit better lol. AND I found clorox wipes! I haven't seen them since they started the lockdowns.

patin, please let us know how you and your DH are? Continuing prayers and positive thoughts. nylene, so happy to see you doing better. DH always likes working from home. And in this house, where there is actually room, I love him working from home too. At the farm…not so much. kellyr21, my days are full of routine things as well. All this talk of quarantine = free time, and I’m like not for me – business as usual. And even more so as I’m having to cook even more with DH home and lack of quantities of some things at the store. Lol. I hope you can get your glasses soon. joyfulnana, yes, you inspired me to change my avatar. I’m still having trouble adjusting to it though. Every time I see it, I’m like who’s that posting? That’s crazy about the reopening of close contact businesses in GA. I hope that your nephew and family will be safe. I’m worried about everything reopening, but we will have to. It just has to be so slow as the numbers will start to rise again, and we’ll need to be able to shut down again. Kids are so funny in how they say things. You are going to have a blast. I still can’t find toilet paper, so this worries me about the meat. Not that I need TP right now, but DH can go through a roll a day, so my supply won't last much longer. Plus, DD does not do well on legumes. I miss going to my multiple shops to get what we need. --- I have sleep problems on a good day, and with the world now, I sort of go back and forth. So staying up later but when I get up for the restroom then I can’t go back to sleep which is normal and then it’s time to get up because DH needs the room for work. Usually I’d just go back to sleep for an hour or two and he’d already be gone. Ugh. If I don’t get my sleep I tend to get run down and then “sick”. I get chilled, tired, and a bit of a scratchy throat and can run a temp. So every few weeks, I’m getting these symptoms due to lack of sleep and then DH gets all worried because I’m sick. It is really only for about 2 days while my body makes me rest and sleep. I’ve tried to explain this to him, but to no avail. So, of course, this happened on Wednesday. I lost a whole day and a half of work time. (pouting) But I’m still tired today because I stayed up to late last night and was up at 5. I need to find something to knock me out at 10pm or earlier. I have a ladder that I ordered come in so I have to go pick that up this morning. Then this afternoon, I should start painting the ceiling. I have a feeling I may wait until tomorrow afternoon for that as I'm still trying to muster the energy up to go to the store and pick up the ladder. I am going to spend some time tomorrow morning crafting though. I was going to pull out the paper layouts, but now I’m thinking I may just do digital. DH does start his first furlough week tomorrow, which means we should be able to knock out a good chunk of the living room next week. Especially if it's rainy as the forecast calls. But if it warms up and is sunny, then at least my garden plot will be tilled and fenced. Although I'd like a few days of warm up and sun so we can start opening the pool too. So if you don't see me next week until the weekend, it's because I'm making DH work on home projects or he's making me work on outside projects. Prayers for all the Pokeys.
