This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

I am up and dressed today and think I feel the best I have felt for 2 weeks. I hope to be involved in the Team challenges this month but it may be a few days before I dig in. I finished a layout last month during one of the Mega crops, but didn't feel up to scanning and posting, so I will have at least one layout this month. LOL joyfulnana, I hope your son is doing well and that you can steal a few minutes to do something you love. Hugs to all of you. I'll post more later.

nylene, I'm glad you are feeling better. I hope that trend continues. Thanks for the new thread. How's your son, joyfulnana? Is his dad still virus free? I got gas today for $1.47. Amazing. I had my disinfecting wipe in my hand the whole time. It was good to get out of the house, even if the only time I left the car was to pump gas. Picked up a Sams Club order, no butter. I still have some, but we go through it fairly quick, especially with all the homemade bread we've been making. Continued positive thoughts and prayers to all the pokeys.

Picked up a Sams Club order, no butter. I still have some, but we go through it fairly quick, especially with all the homemade bread we've been making. I am guilty of hoarding butter...I have about 8 lbs in the freezer, 1 in the fridge...and we pick up a couple of pounds whenever we do visit the store currently. I think my family would eat well as long as we have baking necessities in the house! It feels like topsy turvy world everywhere I go. Masks. "x"s on the floor wherever I go to keep people apart. Emtpy toilet paper shelves (still!). Yet the birds are singing the arrival of Spring and the kitten is showing that he'd really like to be an outdoor cat, please! (we have 2 outdoor cats, 1 indoor cat. Plan was for this guy to be indoor only). It's so strange how life continues like normal and yet is so abnormal! Stay safe and home everyone. I feel very anxious when the boards are quiet - I feel like peas or their families might be sick - hoping the quietude is just peas not feeling chatty, and not anything serious!

Thanks for the new thread, nylene, and YAY on feeling so much better! Dgs is now here with his dad and his auntie. They took LOTS of precautions not to bring any germs to this house, and everyone is healthy. Had my first taste of home schooling this morning. His grade one teacher is an absolute gem! Her videos are so loving and make the assignments sound like fun. She has posted books for them to read and links to short challenges and assignments. The link lets them leave messages for her and share photos and videos of what they have been doing. Dgs ends his messages with "Miss you!". So sweet. We are behind a day b/c yesterday he was travelling here. But we have yesterday's assignments done and are thinking about how to tackle his project for next week. He and Dad are now out in the front yard with snow shoes. I got to take some photos from the front step. And of course we can catch up on the weekend if we have not done so by Friday afternoon. Waving hello to all the Pokeys! It is definitely a topsy turvey world. Out here on the farm where we are naturally distanced from our neighbours the sun is shining down on acres and acres of un touched fresh snow--well until the snow shoe people got into it, that is! Thanks for reminding me, Linda and KikiPea, I need to pull some frozen baking out of the freezer for these guys to eat while they are here...

ABCreations , thank you again for fixing our little turtles. I am very computer challenged and yet I was able to follow the directions and get my badges back. You are a sweetheart. kitbop, it's nice to see you checking in. I worry about your health care providers and pray for you daily. What a strange world we are living in just now. The shelves here are all empty of toilet paper and milk. I hope to get some eggs by the end of the week. Crazy times. grammadee, what fun to have a grandson there with you. That's what I miss most. I usually wouldn't go more than 2 days when one of the grands would drop by. It feels lonely without them. I hope you have a good visit and sounds like the homeschooling/online schooling is going well. LisaDV, your gas prices are amazing. Ours have dropped to $2.31. I don't understand why ours stay so high. They don't anticipate they will drop below $2. I hope you can find butter. You know that homemade bread without butter is a travesty! Hang in there and stay well. Has your husband's cough gone away? I am going to bed early tonight but have done without a nap at all today. I even did a few batches of wash this morning. Washer and dryer are downstairs and I realized how weak I am as I hobbled up and down. I hope I am truly on the mend. I'd like to go outside and walk, but we are expecting a big winter storm the next 2 days. Thinking about all of you. Check in when you can.

Hi everyone. It's a rainy Saturday here. I finally started sanding my living room walls this week. I have to work around DH's call schedule. He had much time open Friday but I started with the news Friday morning. then he said he was going to be furloughed for 2 weeks some time between now and the end of May. So I didn't get anything done yesterday. We did have a fire and roast hot dogs. It was a beautiful day. However, mosquitoes love me, couldn't find the spray, and so I was out right after the hot dogs were eaten. The first fire of the year, is usually the best too as the kids are excited and chatty. They were out until after 11:00. I was in before 9. DS has spring break next week. He's hoping to get his 2 non-live classes further along but is going to help me with some projects as well. Glad to see you are feeling a bit better nylene. Please rest and take care of yourself. Yes, Don's cough finally went away about mid-March. Thank you ABCreations for fixing our turtles. How are you and your family doing? Is dgs running you ragged, grammadee? I feel very anxious when the boards are quiet - I feel like peas or their families might be sick - hoping the quietude is just peas not feeling chatty, and not anything serious! I feel this way too. Stay safe out there. I did a local grocery delivery for just a few things since I was almost out of milk, ended up getting my butter too. whew! Continued prayers for all.

Sorry I haven't check in for a while. The hospital is actually lower than usual because they aren't doing unnecessary surgeries. The hospital is preparing for a possible spike in patients and finishing a section of the new wing for all the COVID patients. We have some in the hospital now and they get sent to a special unit or critical care. It is stressful at the hospital because of all this going on. Anybody that walks into the hospital gets screened. They keep making comments to me about my allergies. I am off for a few days. I have been getting estimates on my foundation. So far, I have had 3 companies out and I have been told 3 different things. Another company is coming on Monday. I noticed yesterday that crack on one corner of my house was just a small crack but now it is big enough that light gets into my crawl space. The guy that came out yesterday told me that houses are supposed to settle and that doesn't mean all cracks need to be fixed. I have been disappointed in the weather on my days off. It is rather chilly today but supposed to get warmer in the next couple of days. I hope to get out and ride my bike and supposed to get a package today of a K9 backpack for Miss Phoebe. She may get to go on bike rides with me. I am trying to make whipped coffee this morning and it is taking forever. My hand held mixer isn't making the peaks like the videos I have watched. I may be super caffeinated today! I hope everyone stays safe and healthy! I will try to remember to check in more often.

I have been working from home for the last 3 weeks. I'm working more hours than if I actually went to the office. Our employment attorney has advised the owner that if anyone over 65 wants to come to work they have to have a release from their doctor. I understand that - but I really don't think a doctor is going to make an appointment to see patients so they can go to work. Any way - things could be worse. I've made abut 160 masks when I've not been working and will make some more this weekend. Getting elastic has been impossible so I switched to making them with ties for the time being. Our state is now advising that anyone who goes into public should wear a mask. Also, they are being asked to wear the home made fabric masks and save the N95's for medical personnel. I miss my kids and their kids. Most of them live within a few miles and we usually see each other at least once a week. I also miss my scrapping group. grammadee and justjac figured out how we could do a virtual crop a couple of times and that was really nice. Now I'm going to watch some more scrapping videos and steal their ideas. I mean be inspired!!

Hello all. I went grocery shopping today - wore my mask and discovered that I really don't handle mask wearing very well. I've always been a bit claustaphobic and I've always hated stuff touching my face...but with the mask on my chest felt tight, I felt nauseated, and on edge the whole time. Glad I only have to wear it once a week for shopping. Poor DH has to wear one for work everyday - at least next week he'll be alternating days in teh office and at home. I have mixed feelings about the at home part... Picked up some more cardstock and adhesive via curbside pickup at Michaels - that should do me until the stores re-open, I hope. Making another batch of 60 postcards for the nursing home residents this weekend -using scraps and an 8x8 provocraft slab I found when cleaning mum's house - it's not really my style so perfect to use for cards. I'm getting three cards out of each 8x8 paper. DD13 is cooking tonight - she's making salmon, irish red potatoes (boiled then tossed with butter and garlic and parsley), and sliced cucumbers. DD19 made pancakes last night -it's nice to get a couple of nights off cooking each week. DS28 is lonely - he's calling every day, sometimes twice a day, to chat. He lives alone and while he's going into work still to deal with and deliver mail to the sailors in barracks, it's not a full day and only 4 days/wk and there's hardly anyone there - almost everyone has been told to stay home (or in the barracks) except for a few essential personnel. gramma - don't work TOO much. I'm glad that you're working from home though, better safe than sorry. WOW - that's a ton of masks. I've only made about 60 I think. I can't sew too long at a time - my knee protests too much (from the foot pedal). I have supplies to make some more though. knutschen - good luck with the whipped coffee - it sounds intriguing. What a pain about the foundation! LisaDV - sorry about the furlough. I agree about the quiet boards but I'm struggling a little to post... nylene - glad you are on the mend- take it easy though, you don' want any setbacks grammadee - ejoy your time with your grandson and family kitbop - I pick up 2lbs of butter every week whether we need it or not Hi to all the peas - nice to see the turtles back

Hi there pokeys! My son tested negative and is dad has shown no symptoms. They are glad to be out of quarantine and I'm so happy he tested negative! Work is starting to really slow down. Slow enough I'm not sure how much longer things can last before we are just forced to close. Of course, my job would still go on, just possibly without as many people. So I may end up working more hours too gramma. I'm really grateful that I'm still working. I've enjoyed the slow down and slower pace. It's been nice to have a little breathing room. I am not seeing Rudy or or DS nearly as often as we are used to. About once a week, and that's really only because they live across the street and we've both been working from home. I feel a little guilty for seeing them. I get more often than DS does and I'm so worried about bringing it home to them! I had a cloth mask to wear out, but felt awkward wearing it, so I'm happy it's been recommended to wear them. I don't feel like such a weirdo! lol. nylene, I'm glad you are feeling better. But take it easy! Everything can wait, take care of yourself! I'll bet you do miss those grands. I'm not sure how I would do if we weren't "cheating" a little bit. kitbop I think of you often as this pandemic rages on, I hope you will stay safe. There are X's at all of the stores here as well and today Walmart and Target started limiting the number of people in the store at one time. My regular grocery store has traffic directing arrows on the flow and one way aisles. Strange times for sure! And still no toilet paper or cleaning supplies here. knutschen you stay safe too! I can't even imagine being on the front lines of this. I hope you get the coffee figured out, it sounds delicious! I love coffee lol. That sucks about the foundation though. LisaDV I'm sorry you didn't really get to enjoy the entire evening with the fire. I hate mosquitoes too. And I'm guilty of picking up extras of anything I use regularly right now. If I can grab 2 of something I will for just in case. I'm probably part of the problem lol. I'm glad your DH gets to split time between work and home. I hope the homeschooling continues to go well. grammadee it sounds like things are fun at your house! I'm sure the teaching is coming right back to you. Your grands are so lucky to have you. linda I had to lol at your ambivalence at DH being around more often, because I could totally relate to that! My youngest DS has been calling a lot more frequently now out of boredom as well. This seems to be really hard on extroverts and the youngers that are used to a lot of socialization. I tried to do curbside with Joann's today for some adhesive but all the stores here in my area are closed. Including Michaels I believe. I think I have enough of everything - I KNOW I do - but being told I can't go to craft stores makes me want crafty stuff even when I don't need it lol kellyr21 I hope you are doing all right! I'm with LisaDV, I hope everyone will just check in to say they are alright, even if they don't feel up to chatting. I'm hoping to get some scrappy mojo back soon, now that things don't feel quite so dire. Hope everyone is having a good weekend and staying home! gramma those hangout crops are fun aren't they? I'm hoping to take part in some soon!

I could have written this knutschen ! We've moved surgery to a smaller new unit, and my surgical unit has been turned into "MedC" and we've been given all the heavies - the trachs, the massive strokes, the neurodegenerative questionmarks... Lots of c.diff... miss my surgery We are only given 1 mask/day, how about you? We get an N95 for a couple of patients only, and have shields for any droplet isolations. I've never been so careful of hygiene, so careful of supplies. Our hopsital opened a whole new wing in January...good timing. So instead of all the old areas moving in, we've simply increased by 150 beds. Speaking of which - Linda , gramma - please consider sewing surgical hats (scrub hats) for clinical staff at your local hospitals! knutschen , do you agree? It's something we never wear on the floors and I don't own any, but apparently coronavirus can live in your hair, so most staff are covering up. It would be SO WELCOME at our hospital to be given some of these, or even sell for $5/$10... I'm sure there are patterns online! joyfulnana - yay! about your son. 2 of my coworkers were off pending testing...I honestly felt sick and feverish every day until their tests came back negative, and then poof I was better too Worry worry worry overthink. And baking peas - well, I never before counted challenge points for baking even though it could be considered another "craft". It was just part of our food supply. These days, I think I will start counting. DD keeps coming up with things to try. We mastered macarons on our 2nd attempt (tricky devils!) and she wants to do baked cheesecake next. I love cheesecake, but she's never made one.

joyfulnana - such a relief about your son. kitbop - I'll have a look about for patterns and see if I have the supplies - I don't have a big sewing stash anymore because I've been downsizing it - with my children older, I'm not sewing so much.

joyfulnana , I am so happy for you. That has to be a big relief. I hope you all stay healthy now. I hope you don't become overloaded with work. DH is finding that because so many are ordered to stay home, he is more needed than ever. I hate having him go to work and come home everyday to clean everything he touches, wears, etc. Weird times! knutschen , thank you for checking in. I worry for you and kitbop who are in the thick of the medical part of this pandemic. You are my heroes. Caregivers are saints at this time. Please be careful and stay well. I chuckled at them being concerned with your allergies. My nose runs constantly and I have a dry cough, but I know it's allergies. I've had them for years! I hope your foundation is an easy fix. kitbop , I can't believe that you have one mask and gown for the whole day. I pray daily for the caregivers and that means you. How are your kids doing with all of these changes. I'm sure your DD is not able to go to dance. That would be hard. gramma , you are a sewing whiz. Those masks will be very appreciated. What is it that you do working at home? I guarantee that if you lived here you could not see a Dr. to get a "healthy" note. You can't even see one when you are miserable and they prefer to take a guess at the diagnosis rather than doing testing that would involve going somewhere for the test. I hope things work out for your work. Linda , it sounds like you are keeping busy with card making. Those will be appreciated. I wish I had stocked up on photo squares before this started. I used my last box the other night. I use double stick scotch tape on cards, but I still use the squares on pages. I do have some tape runners, but haven't really found them reliable. I can still order from Michaels but it has to be delivered through the mail. kellyr21 , how has this week gone for you. Is Ron working from home? LisaDV , your first fire sounds like such a wonderful and fun rite of passage each year. (without the mosquitoes). I really attract mosquitoes too and DH sitting next to me never gets a bite. I think you and I must have sweet blood! Glad things are going well for you and hope that that continues. grammadee , I am envious of your time with your DGS. I am really missing Alex. His sisters used to stop in about once a week each after school to see if "grandma has any chocolate". Such a sweet quick visit, but I am missing it. I hope the homeschooling continues well and that your DD is able to finish her work in quiet. I feel a lot better but seem to start really dragging about five o'clock. My right kidney is still very sore. I feel like I've been slugged in the back. The left side is much better. I think I am really on the mend. I will be on one of the meds for about a year the Dr. said. I think that will really help. I have been lazy today and just watched General Conference from my couch. I plan to do the same thing tomorrow! LOL (in jammies)

Hi Pokeys, I'm so glad to read so much good news on this thread. So glad you're on the mend nylene, and glad for the negative test results joyfulnana. knutschen and kitbop, thank you for all you do. You and your colleagues are in my thoughts all the time. Things are quiet here. DD16 is having trouble keeping up with the demands of her online schooling, but we're hoping she'll be able to catch up before the quarter ends next week. DH has adjusted to teaching his classes online, but the rest of us still need to work on being quiet when he has his classes. We frequently get scolded for talking and laughing too loud while his mic is on. I've just been having a nice time with my papers and glue, but Passover is this week so I have to do some baking this weekend in preparation. My family loves when I make mandelbrot (almond bread) which is kind of like a biscotti but it's made out of matzah, so obviously not as good, LOL. Stay healthy everyone!

So good to hear from so many Pokeys! Hoping you are feeling better each day, nylene and looking after yourself. Awesome news about your ds, joyfulnana! Thanks for checking in, knutschen. I am SOOOO thankful for you and kitbop and all the other front line health workers who are working so hard to care for those stricken down with this. Hoping you can all stay safe and that you are taking time to look after yourselves, body & mind & spirit. Hoping your dd is getting used to home schooling, msliz. Dgs was spinning out of control yesterday about it and not wanting to do any more or look at the SeeSaw app which he usually loves. But then we realized it was because he was in a panic about the reading test where he was asked to read out loud for the teacher. Turns out he thought he would be reading for the WHOLE CLASS! Guess he didn't connect the dots that we had not seen any of his classmates reading aloud on the app. Once he knew it was just for the teacher, he settled down, read the book privately with his mom on facetime, then went on line happily, read the book aloud and answered all the questions this morning. The teacher--bless her soul--sent him a sweet message on a SUNDAY MORNING, telling him how well he had done and even commenting on the vocabulary he used while doing it (He was supposed to identify non verbal clues from the book, and he stated that "that pigeon was throwing a TANTRUM!") Dgs wanted to bake Easter cookies today ("nests") but I don't have the ingredients so we made chocolate chip cookies instead. Thinking I can figure out an alterntive for the nests, but will have to do inventory of what I DO have on hand now that I remembered that I have the Eggies in small packs that we can use for them. Might do that tomorrow. His dad needs to be physically at work on the base tomorrow all day, so Auntie and I are doing up a "hand off" schedule between us for the day, alternating between structured and unstructured activities, and coordinating with Grampa's schedule helping out with calf birthing and care at our nephew's farm. Hang in there, everyone!

PS. Got an email from elaynef last night. She and her family are doing well. Staying separate but connected. Sent a photo of blooming blue bonnets near their home. Looked out my window this morning, and nope. No flowers. A couple of feet of snow in the yard and an inch or two that fell over night I have her email address and she told me I could share it with any of the Pokeys who would like to chat with her via email. Just PM me and I will pass it along.

Thanks for checking in knutschen. Foundation issues stink. My sister is dealing with one right now or should say not dealing with one right now since everyone is staying home. If you can see light through the hole, it would need to be fixed in my mind. That guy might be whack-a-do. You’ll have to tell us if Miss Phoebe likes her bike rides. Please stay safe. Working and 160 masks: you are very busy, gramma. I’m sorry that you miss your kids. Hopefully this will be over soon. Linda, I don’t like masks either. I don’t mind things touching my face, but I do have a bit of claustaphobia, I never connected the two. I wore a bandana yesterday when sanding the 2nd living room wall. That was hard enough and it was loose at the bottom. But the dust from the first wall without the mask gave me coughing fits all that night. It’s so nice that the girls are cooking. DS grilled chicken legs yesterday, but I had to brine them. If I hadn’t been covered in white powder from sanding, I would have had to make the sides. DH did that. DH made deer burgers earlier in the week and I made the sides. I wish they could just send DS home, he could do 14 days of quarantine at his apartment and then come home for the duration. joyfulnana, that’s such good news!!! Good for you for wearing your mask, even when they hadn’t said to do so. I really think it was just because they didn’t want people buying the N95’s up from the professional health suppliers. kitbop, interesting about the scrub hats. DD made macarons a little while ago, and DS made cheesecake just last month. Both were yummy. Although I will admit that I never saw the appeal of macarons. I’ve had them out and at a bakery once. Then DD made them. I told her she should make them once a month. I always say homemade is better and this proved it to me. All that sifting though. Lol. DD says that mosquitoes go after a certain blood type, nylene. We must be the same. I got up to go in, and DH who wasn’t getting anything said he got bit like 5 times just as I was walking away. They went from where I was directly to him since he was closest. I’m glad you are on the mend. Just keep resting and doing what the dr. says. TV in your jammies sounds like a good idea. Thanks for checking in, msliz. DH needs his own room to close the door when he’s online. Happy Passover. That’s so sweet of dgs’s teacher. I could see panicking if you thought you were reading in front of the whole class. What a great way to keep dgs entertained with the hand-offs! I’m sorry about the snow, but glad it’s you and not me. I hope you get an early spring though, because last year it seemed like you were always getting snow even into June or is that my imagination. Hopefully you’ll be done now. My clean up from yesterday’s final sanding of the walls has been postponed due to a massive headache. It started about midnight and kept me from sleeping well. I took 4 advil this morning and it’s down to a dull annoyance unless I start moving around. Then it starts hurting again. DH just showed me the huge weather front moving in so that could explain the headache. Hoping the system will bring us closer to morel mushroom season. We’ve been looking, but it’s still a bit early and we haven’t had enough rain and warm days together. This could really make them pop. A little headache is worth it, I guess. Sorry I won’t be able to have kitbop and grammadee over for morel season this year. Fingers crossed for next year though. Have to get rid of my extra guest first too and since we have him on lock down with us - no job hunting for him right now. I made a list of different crafty projects I’d like to do/finish so that I can stay creative. I’ll be trying to do something creative everyday for 100 days. It starts tomorrow. I have a feeler thread out to see who was going to do it ( here) and will post another thread later today for those that are doing it, if they want to share on 2peas. Just an FYI for any Pokey that might be interested in joining. justjac will be doing it again this year. Waving and praying for all our pokey’s and peas and all those that essential during this time. Stay safe.

I'm so glad the badges are working again! I felt awful when grammadee said they stopped showing up, my whole family had influenza B and it was a hard time, thankfully we are well now and the turtles are fixed. Now with all the shelter-in-place and distance learning things are hard again, but in a different way. My 11 year old son is special needs, so we spend a lot of time doing classwork things that my 9 year old daughter doesn't need time doing, so I try to plan things for her to do to keep her busy and not constantly distracting him. Plus I'm trying to figure out how to get them both to eat properly and get exercise and bathe and understand their math homework (which i don't even understand), etc, etc, etc. Meanwhile DH is still working so my OCD and germophobia kick into high gear the second he comes home from work everyday, like i'm not already paranoid enough about washing all the groceries and deliveries and mail and everything else, but I'm scared to death he's going to get COVID-19 even though he takes precautions at work and then again before coming into the house. My father is 76 and lives alone about an hour away, he is a disabled vet and I worry about him a great deal, he keeps telling me he will go on base to shop because it will be safer there, and trying to make him understand that the base is not any safer than anywhere else is a fight I will never win. He has depression and anxiety (i guess that's where i got them) and he is having a hard time being lonely and has expressed suicidal thoughts, so I am doing anything I can think of to help him feel loved and needed, but i don't know how much it helps. I'm trying really hard to stay positive and look for the helpers and be thankful for what I have and be understanding of the situation we are all in together. It's hard but I keep telling myself this is a great time to heal my plantar fasciitis because I don't have to stand up all day at work, I can sit down and do my PT and soak my feet, etc. We will all get through this and come out the other side stronger and more thankful because of it. LisaDV thank you for asking, and how are you and your family doing? Thank you ABCreations for fixing our turtles. How are you and your family doing?

nylene so glad you are feeling better! and that the turtles are working for you! kitbop i am also feeling the odd juxtaposition of life continuing like normal yet being so abnormal, this 'new normal' is crazy, i'm ready for a new new normal! I am so thankful for your HUGE commitment to helping everyone who is sick by putting your life in danger, i'm going to recommend the surgical hats to my sewing friends for our local hospitals, thank you! My DD keeps coming up with recipes she wants to try too, yesterday was cake pops, what an undertaking!!! msliz we need your recipe for mandelbrot, i love anything almond! grammadee i'm not sure how i would handle snow on top of this mess, lol, thankfully i'm in california so we've only had a bit of rain. i hear you about the distance learning, i'm a substitute teacher so i'm used to just jumping in where ever but its different when its your own kiddos (that's why i never sub for my own kids' classes!) excited to see pix of the new baby calves! LisaDV how is your DH doing? we are also excited to catch up on school work during spring break, DS has a term paper due on silk in ancient china, i'm looking forward to learning more about it... not sure he is, lol! Are you staying hydrated during all your sanding and work? I usually get headaches with weather fronts too, but also from being even slightly dehydrated. Mosquitoes prefer blood type O... I'm O+ and i'm always the one with the bites while everyone else is unaffected! knutschen thank you so much for putting your life in danger every single day to be on the front lines helping those who are sick, you are APPRECIATED! they have started putting mattresses in our schools' gyms to prepare for the influx of patients, it's scary. best of luck with the foundation, that sounds like yet another nightmare to add to your already full plate we all might need a pic of you and Miss Phoebe riding around town! gramma thank you for making masks!!! i've been trying and failing miserably. I saw something online that said bungee cords are full of elastic when you cut them open, idk if that helps you or not, maybe they are easier to purchase than just elastic from the sewing store? linda i don't handle the mask well either, i had a pretty one custom made a while back because i thought if it was pretty it would be easier to wear... not so much. how nice that your DDs are cooking, I'm trying to get my DD on that road as well, she's only 9 though so I can't really leave her in the kitchen alone just yet. joyfulnana i'm so very happy to hear about the negative results for your son and his dad!!! even tho things are scary, i feel like they are slower too and that its a good thing.

ABCreations - thanks for fixing the turtles- they always make me smile when I spot one. (((Hugs)))) It sounds like you have a ton on your plate and a lot of (understandable) anxiety. I started my kids cooking at about 9 - obviously they needed more supervision then than they do now but they were surprisingly capable. I let them decide what they want to cook (within reason) and that seems to help. LisaDV - you're always so busy with home improvement projects - I'm impressed with all you know how to do. The 100 day project sounds like a good idea - I need to catch up on many projects - the last 6 months have been all topsy-turvy around here. grammadee - thanks for the update on @elaynef - glad they are doign well. Snow? It;s supposed to be 85 here today.

Good Tuesday morning. How is everyone today?
I had dgs all day yesterday in what he described as "a great Gramma day". Dad had to go into work; Auntie was not feeling well--combo of stress (she is VERY introverted and not used to all the family time we have been having and that brought on some digestive issues, so I sent her to her room and said take the day off) Grampa had to go help with the calving/feeding operation of his nephew. So it was just dgs and gramma here most of the day. We started with building LEGO, then he did his Math assignments, and listened to the LA instructions before his class video chat at 10:00. Then snack time and we headed outside. Came in for lunch and he lay down with me to watch Ice Age. The LA goal this week is to learn story construction, so I pointed out the characters, setting, problem, solution and ending in the movie, and we talked about it after when he was describing the movie to others in the house. We also fit in adding some details (decorated and attached the door) to the cardboard house he is building for his Show & Share on Thursday. After a quick ride out to see the animals with Grampa, he came back to me and played with Scrabble letters to practice his spelling while I was fixing supper. By then the others were back in the picture, so home school was done for the day. Daddy asked me after bedtime routine what I had done with him b/c he went to sleep almost instantly last night! Full disclosure, I am not sure i remember my OWN head hitting the pillow last night LOL... But I think there was a smile on my face...
ETA I added a couple of baby calf photos to the April Photo Challenge thread, and one of dgs working up a sweat on the driveway yesterday shovelling snow.

ABCreations, that’s a lot to worry about! I‘m so sorry that your father is struggling. It’s already such a hard time and to be struggling with depression and additional anxiety on top of the anxiety this situation brings about is a lot. Does he have a therapist? Can they talk via phone? That’s how we’re keeping dd’s doctor appointments these days. Do you have someone to talk to as well? I hope you can take some time to detox and unplug from all the responsibilities, even if it’s a couple of hours. We try to stay away from the news on the weekends right now. Since DH works M-F and has to be informed and up-to-date. We remain news free on the weekends and usually try to do something home related “normal” type work. We put out the deck furniture this past weekend, he worked on going through boxes from the move in the back garage, while I worked on the living room. Good call on the dehydration also. I wasn’t drinking enough, and I do think that added to my headache yesterday. I drank a “ton” of water yesterday and although the headache really went away when the rain started last night, I didn’t feel “right” until this morning. I can’t imagine schooling at home based on someone else’s plans and due dates. I homeschooled until my two hit high school, but I could pick and choose my own curriculum before and what we were going to do within those books. Hugs to you. Linda, I started my kids cooking when they had to stand on a chair. Probably because if I was cooking, they were with me. It always took 2-3x as long to make dinner though. My DS was always the overly cautious one. DD was using the oven by herself without supervision by 9. The first time DS saw it, he freaked out and ran to tell me. Yes, I know son. I’ve watched her many times before giving her the all clear. He then decided he needed this freedom, and when he cooked started putting things in and out by himself under my supervision until I said he could do it unsupervised. He had always wanted me to do it prior to that. Lol. That’s so sweet, grammadee. I’m so glad you both had “a Great Gramma Day”. Of course, any day with the grands is great in your mind, I know. I’m jealous of getting to see the farm animals though. Headache is gone and hydration levels are good, so cleaning is on the agenda today. First I promised DD a breakfast oatmeal sweet potato casserole, so I best get to that. Oh, I think we’re just going to keep the same 100 day project post. As always, continued prayers for the Pokey’s and the Peas and their families. And extra prayers for all those with essential workers as well as my thanks.

I have had a relapse. I took the last of my prescriptions on Monday morning and by afternoon I knew something was wrong. More trying to get a video conference with the Dr. After a day of that, I went to get the new RX's and found that again I was prescribed the one that isn't made anymore. It was the Med. assistant's mistake and she called and apologized. I think when this virus is all settled down they will want to do some biopsies. I am a bit better today, but I just feel worn out. Sorry for the whine. I will chat more in a few days when I'm doing better. Thanks for checking in ABCreations, and thanks again for the turtles! You have your hands full. I hope you can get into a regular routine. Hugs to everyone!

Oh no, nylene. Hope they got your med's figured out now. Please try to rest and let your body recover. Video conferencing with the doctor is good if it means you don't have to go out, but I hope they could do a proper diagnosis that way. Also, did you really have to drive and line up to get your medications last week? Or could your family do that for you and then drop them off? Or is there a delivery service that can do that?

nylene I’m sending healing vibes your way. I’ve been working on organizing my scrap room. Stamps and stencils are done. Dies are almost done. The thought of organizing paper is scaring me. I have so much. I barely leave the house any more. It was so cold and windy last week I didn’t go for walks. I’m doing yoga with a Facebook class three times a week. I hope all you Pokeys stay safe.

nylene this doesn't sound good. I hope you feel better soon and stay better through the rest of this pandemic. Please take it easy. grammadee this has all been so traumatizing for everyone, but man those kids are having their whole world turned upside down with no real idea why. It's going to leave an impression on them I feel sure. I'm glad he calmed down once he knew it wasn't in front of the class. Rudy is really shy about things like that. justjac my paper stash is ridiculous. Probably not as much as some, but definitely more than enough for me lol. There is absolutely nothing going on here. But man this whole thing has just sucked all the scrappy mojo right out of me. Even shopping isn't helping really. I'm going to see if I can find a sketch that will inspire me since I have a sketchy Saturday slot later this month. I'm not sure yet what we will do Easter. It's DS's weekend, so I think Rudy and I will bake some cookies. We haven't done in that in awhile and maybe see if he wants to sleep over. It will be low key no matter what that's for sure. Sending lots of good thoughts and vibes and prayers for all the Pokey's to stay safe and healthy! And especially for our front line Pokey's!

nylene, no! Will you tell those kidneys of yours to "straighten up and fly right"! I'm so sorry you're dealing with more medicine, but I hope it will knock out the infection/trouble and you will be pain free. Rest. justjac, we've eaten out on the deck 2 times in the last week. Had the windows open several days. And today the high was 47 which was had while we slept (it'll be low 40's high 30's the rest of the day). Are you organizing your dies like your stamps? How did you organize your stencils? joyfulnana, a Rudy sleepover sounds like a grand idea.
