Good morning, Pokeys! Hoping your recovery is continuing, nylene . Please take care of yourself. My dd's family is here again this weekend--Wednesday to Monday this time. Dd's hubby was promoted to full Colonel yesterday. He had to go into the base where they did the official ceremony with his new insignia. They Skyped us in for the on-line ceremony. A couple of Generals were involved remotely, and a colonel on site even stuck the badge on his uniform with a 6 foot pole. Tonight we are celebrating here with steak and baked potatoes on the barbecue. I have assigned the little guy and his dad to clean off our deck after a couple of seasons of not using it. Hoping that helps wear off some energy. He is posted to the middle east for a year (with a couple of Leaves, but not sure when), flying out May 3rd, so lots of stress being felt by their family. The little guy has attachment disorder, so knowing Daddy is leaving next week for a long time has him stressed out and his ADHD is flying full force. I tend to absorb other people's feelings, so I am a bit on edge too right now, but trying to help everyone else find some calm. And DH is trying to plan how to get his tractor repaired. Needing help sending (with his iPad) info about needed parts to the dealer, and coordinating when he needs the repair guy to come out here. Please excuse me if this message doesn't make much sense. Been overhearing a contentious math session and been called to help dh a couple of times.

Oh, no grammadee. I'm so sad that the DSIL will be leaving for a year. Poor little guy. Will the family be joining him at all? But how exciting to be made Colonel!! Congratulations. I'm sorry that you are absorbing others feelings, I think it's hard not to when it's people you love so much. I hope your DH can get his tractor parts and get it repaired quickly. He's going to need that thing soon. I picked up my ladder. I also forgot that I had a alcohol order placed that I had to pick up. The first time in over a month, I went inside not just one business, but TWO of them today. I had my mask on. I used disinfecting wipes after leaving. I changed clothes upon home reentry. I took a shower and changed clothes again. It was surreal. I was excited to be inside a business and see what was going on and anxious all at the same time. There were people in both businesses without masks. The hardware help all had masks on thankfully. No painting. Tomorrow afternoon or Sunday. I told DH tomorrow afternoon and he said no because I was going to be crafting. ..

Happy Friday night! Today was a good day and looking forward to a good weekend. I finished my crochet hat last night, finally!!! LOL! I blogged about it Here. It turned out a little big but nice. I enjoyed the process and might think about doing another crochet project this year. LisaDV - I hope you can get regular sleep. I am up late and not getting up as early as I used to. But during this time, I am giving myself permission to sleep as much as I need. Yeah, I don't want to get worn down either. Wow, you went into a store. I miss it soooo much. I found out that JCP will be opening by May 1. I got excited and hope this is true. That was one of my favorite stores to shop and walk around and decompress. So fingers crossed! grammadee - Oh, I hope your dgs will adjust. That is tough! But I know you are all proud of your dsil. What an accomplishment. How is your newer doggie doing these days? I would love to stay in touch with @elaynef. Can you send her email to my dm? Thanks! nylene - I hope each day continues to get better! Take it easy, gal! Waving hello to you all and take care, all!

Here are our dogs, all excited about water running across our driveway. They were “hunting” floating ice. BTW the ice and snow have all gone now but this was taken just at the beginning of this week.

kellyr21, beautiful hat! You did a fantastic job on it. If JCP opens and you go, make sure to wear your mask and social distance. grammadee, glad the ice and snow are gone now, but great photo.

Oh@grammadee I'm sorry DSIL is being posted so far away and for so long! Poor little guy But full Colonel! What an accomplishment! Steaks and potatoes on the deck sounds fun! LisaDV I have a hard time getting good sleep the past week or so as well. It seems like a lot of people are really struggling with the huge changes in routine and even though mine hasn't changed much, the whole thing has me thrown for loop. Thanks for the heads up on your possible absence! I don't even know how we really go about opening things up. It's such a catch-22. I'm getting a little stir crazy and would like to go somewhere other than the grocery store but I also don't see myself rushing out to go places for awhile. I think they are going to move up the lifting of our stay home orders to May 3rd. They had been set to expire the May 15th. I hope things won't get much worse as far as shortages though. I'm hoping to get my sample LO finished and posted this afternoon in between Rudy visits lol

Have fun with Rudy, joyfulnana . It is 9:22AM here and I am on my 3rd cup of coffee. Dgs has already watched an online kids' show, done some art on my computer, gathered some mud from the garden so we can start a sun flower and a bean plant today (after the mud dries into dirt), gone for a bike ride, blown some bubbles, thrown the ball for the dogs, and is on his way with Dad to get the golf cart out of its shed to go for a ride on it. At this rate, I will be ready for a nap before 11 AM, supper by 3:00PM and in bed before 5:30...

Happy Saturday! Hope you all are having a good day today. We are relaxing and plan to do that the rest of the day. I just published my new welcome video on my blog. It took me severaldays and practice "takes" but I am pleased with the final one. I have never done a public video so this was a little nerve racking but I did enjoy the creative process. So take a look, all. Kelly's Welcome VideoLisaDV- Oh, you are exactly right. I will be covered in any public space these days. When I talked with a lady in customer service, she said they would be limiting the number of people allowed in the store and probably other safety rules. So we will see! grammadee- Oh look at your fur babies!!! I know they are enjoying all the exploring. Which one is the newer one? Waving hi to you all and have a great evening!

Rudy woke up at 6:35. “Good Morning! What do you want to do?” 😂😂😂. I’m sure you, like me, wouldn’t trade it

LOL, joyfulnana and grammadee, I think your grands would fit right in with Alex! That boy can wear you out in no time! They are so fun to have around, and it's fun to see them go home again! I am glad you get to see them. It's pretty lonely when they can't come. grammadee, your dogs look like they get along well together. I'm sure you will be happy to have that snow gone...as soon as the mud dries up. Congrats to your DSIL on his promotion. I wish he didn't have to leave so soon from his family. I'm sure they will look forward to his furloughs. kellyr21, I loved your Welcome Video. You seem so relaxed and confident in front of the camera. I loved seeing and hearing you in PERSON. I think your suggestions to those who think they have no interest in crafts was spot on. Sometimes it just takes trying something new. BTW, you look great in your finished hat. Congrats on your first wearable project. LisaDV, I'm glad you are taking good precautions after being in a couple of stores. I am trying to stay at home. I had to drive DH to Home Depot (which was so packed the line waiting to go in was clear around the parking lot). We decided to try CAL ranch instead and he got in and out quickly. I stay in the car and make sure he disinfects as he gets in. He is going to help Emily with her yard and sprinklers on Monday, but she will come get him and take him in his truck. She even picks up our groceries or takes him along. I am happy to be a homebody. I hope things go well for the painting this week. That is such a big job! You are wonderwoman! joblackford, I was glad to see that you had posted more cards. Thanks for taking the time to answer all my questions. I am in love with your hello dies! Those seed packet cards are cute make me nostalgic! I can still smell the seed store where we always bought all our seeds. I miss those times shopping with my mom. patin, how are things going with your husband? Sending hugs and prayers for both of you. Drop a note here when you have time. kitbop, I am trying not to be "scared" of the virus, but I can't help but be scared for you and others who work closely with those who are afflicted. We pray every day for those working so closely with Covid patients. I know you are being careful, but just know that we are concerned for you. I hope the worst is over soon. I'm afraid we will never be back to the old normal. knutschen, I hope you get some scrapping done virtually with your friend. I hope things stay quiet at your hospital when you return. Hugs and prayers for you too. gramma, my DD was looking through the gallery while she was here helping me. I just turned the computer over to her and she called me to come look at these cool cards. They were yours! They were the "trios" across the front. She is anxious to make some to share at Card Club. I thought you should know that! She has a pretty new Silhouette and is really having fun with it. justjac and msliz I have enjoyed your posts in the gallery. I am still behind, but I'm getting close to being caught up with all the gallery posts. Thanks for sharing in the gallery. I have decided that I am spending all next weekend scrapping. Those deep cleaning jobs can wait a few days longer, but I am missing the scrapping and creativity. I have put together 3 kits and hope to do more. I thought I'd clean my scraproom, but decided I can function like it is. If I put things in different places, I won't be able to find them next weekend! Have a great weekend, Pokeys!

Happy Sunday! I pray you all are having a good day. Ron and I are chilling out and enjoying the day. We did church online which we are getting used to. nylene- Thanks so much for all your support. I knew you would love finally seeing me in person after all these years. Maybe we will see each other in real life one day. I was surprised how camera shy I got in my own house taping alone. But I worked through it and hope to make more videos in the coming days. Also, I agree with you NO cleaning and real work. LOL! Just play time and scraping! I plan to get some painting started this week and find a new crocheting project to use up the rest of my yarn. Waving hi to you and have a restful afternoon/evening.

Hello, Pokeys. I haven't been doing any scrapping, but have put together a bunch of kits and have cut some files for tucking in the kits. I hope that it will help me as I get going for May.
Yesterday was DH's b-day and Em ordered him up a Door Dash meal from Red Lobster. He was really excited. I think he's sick of my cooking...or lack thereof. Our oldest DD came with her kids, all masked up to give him some delicious cookies from Crumbl. That's the first we have seen them since the shelter in place started. They cleaned off everything they touched, sprayed the couch and floor where they walked before they left. It was funny, but so nice of them. I am really missing family visits.
I am hoping you are all doing well and prepping for iNSD this weekend. Hugs to all.

Glad you and your dh got to see family on his bd, nylene. And I am sure he enjoyed his special meal! You are brave doing on line videos, kellyr21. Looking forward to seeing your new art projects! The younger dog has the shorter hair. The older dog is a full blood border collie with the long hair and bushy tail. She is a collie/blue heeler cross with the markings of a collie but the hair length and length of limb of a blue healer. She has been good for him. He was with older dogs for a couple of years, then here all alone, and was very non adventurist. But she has added some fun into his life and they often "play fight" and love investigating sounds and movements around the edge of the property. How is your dh, patin? I hope he continues to regain his health. LisaDV, how is the painting project coming? Are you getting all the projects completed while dh is home? I forget if your "day of scrapping" was supposed to be last weekend or this upcoming one? Glad to see you got a paper page finished. Hope you have time to play on iNSD. Sounds like you will have a busy scrappy weekend ahead, joyfulnana. Hope that your MOJO comes running home to mama! Hoping to spend some time on Hangouts, but not sure what dh has in store for me outside this upcoming weekend. I hope to get a start on my Hawaii album for ds & family. I have all the papers and the photos in one place, so I should be good to go. Dd and family left yesterday evening. I was exhausted, and spent the evening and much of today just recovering. I did finish some mothers' day cards. I need to link them to the sharing thread--I shared them over on the Card making board earlier today. I also pulled out some photos and papers for a couple of pages I want to put together this week, using LisaDV's sketchy Saturday sketch. Think I will wind up the day vegging, watching a movie dgs's gf downloaded for me on their Disney + account while they were here. Have a wonderful evening, Pokeys...

Hi Peas. Dean and I continue our practice retirement. LisaDV you asked about online education here. Each province (really each school division) is delivering distance education as they see fit. I work on a First Nations reserve where digital infrastructure is not great and not all students have access to technology. Teachers are sending homework packets to younger students. Since I work with adults, many of them have a lot on their plates homeschooling their children, so I’m not really doing any teaching. I answer their texts and emails and recommend online resources they can work on. nylene and grammadee I am glad you got to see family. Here are a few pages I’ve made this month.

Happy Wednesday! It was a good day here and hope you all enjoyed your day. I have been writing & blogging. Here are my recent posts. INSD Events (I will be here supporting our events. Yes, I am in the mood to scrap! LOL! Papercrafting Finds Kelly's New Art nylene - How fun you all had a party for your dh! Happy birthday to him for Ron and I. Wishing him a better, much better year! You got your kits together, good. I am glad you are feeling better, too. grammadee - Thanks for the cheers! I hope to make more videos now that I have made the first one. Your doggies sound so cute. I am glad you and your dh have them there to befriend you and provide some joy. Oh, I can't wait to get a dog or cat! My dh is less excited about this but I know he will come around. LOL! justjac - Oh, I didn't know you worked with first people!!! That is so cool! Do you teach a particular subject? Waving hi to you all and have a good evening!

Good morning, Pokeys... Hope everyone is ending the month feeling well and full of energy. Spring has come to the prairies. The snow is gone from our yard and the creek water is flowing through the culvert where it is supposed to go. The garden is still too wet to work up for planting, but it is amazing how much everything dries up in a day. I have resumed my daily walks around the yard, and can do that with my rubber gardening sandals now. About 1/2 mile per loop which is where I am starting, but I am working up to 3 or 4 loops per day. Lots of wildlife out. Dh saw a large moose and a mama bear with her baby yesterday. Glad there are Pokeys going to join in on the iNSD crop. kitbop has been working hard setting up prompts and challenges. msliz has recruited volunteers and with them will be hosting Hangouts most of the weekend. Looking forward to playing on-line with those two and joyfulnana , LisaDV and other peas. Glad you are setting up kits and getting ready, nylene , and that you are ready to play, kellyr21 . I know you will be busy with LOAD again in May, justjac , but I hope you can pop in over here as well and show us your pages. Don't feel you have to "produce" to play. There will be prizes given based on simply participating in the crop chat thread! I hope this upcoming weekend to be (finally) scrapping photos from my ds's family vacation in Hawaii. I have the photos printed and stored in an iris case where I have been throwing vacation and tropical papers and extras for quite a while. On my agenda today is to clean up this craft room! I didn't do as much scrapbooking as usual this past month, but I still managed to make a pretty big mess! And dd's sister-in-law sent me a couple of art kits I need to find a place for. Tempted to open them up and just play, but will only reward myself with that IF I get the counters--and floor--cleared off first. I do have a really cool photo of the family's FEET after a muddy hike, and I am itching to get messy creating a background for that one. Okay.... Time to stop talking and start walking.... TTYL

It's the last day of the month and I have hardly accomplished anything this month. I am hoping to be more productive in May. I have caught up on a lot of things that have been left undone around here and when I get tired I sit down and cut fun things on my Silhouette that might go well with cards or my photos. That will make scrapping much faster this weekend and throughout the month. Emily got a Big Shot (early for Mother's Day) after her Cuttlebug bit the dust. She has come to borrow a bunch of dies and she and Alex are having fun with it. He wakes up in the morning and tells her he wants to do some "cranking". Previously he had used mine here and called it "making pretty papers", mainly with embossing folders. Kids are so funny. grammadee , I'm glad things are looking like Spring in your area. It is really supposed to warm up here this weekend. We went for a walk around the block yesterday and I was out of breath by the end. Lying around has done that to me. I plan to do some walking every day too. I'm sure your dogs are happy to have you out and about with them. kellyr21 , your new artwork is amazing. I could never do that and would be so frustrated. I think you are amazing! Thanks for the links. I love the Scrapbook and Cards Today magazine online. I was sent a paper copy as part of a prize package last month and have devoured it cover to cover. It made me remember how much I loved getting each new scrapbook magazine. I may subscribe so that I can actually hold it in my hand. justjac , thanks for posting your layouts. I have been amazed by your coloring skills. What pens/pencils do you use and like the best? You have some of the cutest stamps! LisaDV , I hope your painting, etc. can take a break for iNSD this weekend. It was fun to see a new paper layout from you! I will close this thread later today and start a new May thread.
