I’m disgusted and saddened by this. While I know how bad the old board got, I’ve always thought this new board was so much kinder and gentler. To know that there is someone who would use the card list to do this is beyond comprehension.

This is absolutely disgusting, but I can't say I'm surprised. As time goes on, more and more I'm not enjoying this board. Way too many people with strong opinions who won't engage in civil discussions and think they can just bully anybody they want. If you don't agree with them, they slap a label on you. I have never had the desire to participate in the Christmas card swap because there was no way I was going to give out my real name and address to anybody here. It's why I don't even give my first name, have never mentioned which town I live in and have never given enough info about my jobs to give a clue about where I work. The old board had it's share of Peas who were able to figure out somebody else's info and called their house to call them out or even called their employer. It's juvenile behavior and it's pathetic that grown women do it.

We have an entire group of slimy people who slink off and come back under new screen names, sometimes several times. They are too weak and broken to stand up for their convictions honestly and openly. They are still posting on this board and for the most part we have a pretty good idea who they are. So this whole anonymous threat thing doesn't surprise me at all, but it as sickening as those who run and then come back with a new name. Who are the "we" in this? I was wondering the same thing. |

I have no doubt it’s a pea. This isn’t the first time the card exchange list was used to send hate mail. This isn’t the first time peas have obviously gotten too invested in whatever cause they’re into and taken it out on anyone who disagrees. We may think we “know” everyone here, but it’s clear that some peas are fucking nuts. I agree. I think some people are going pretty far to justify that it couldn't be a pea. There are plenty of people here who will go to extreme lengths on the board and off to drive their point home and bash someone over the head with it. |

ETA: email not included in spreadsheet. When you join the card exchange you get a list of everyone’s name, address ( so you can mail a card). This isn’t the first time this has happened. We had someone who refused to participate last year because someone (maybe two?) sent them hate mail instead of a holiday card. I’m guessing it’s the same person(s).   I didn't know this. I know this is getting overused, but W.T.F.? People can be so ugly. How does that hate grow and survive? I am at a loss to understand why anyone would do this. What the ever loving frick? Someone participated in a holiday card swap and sent actual hate mail? Holy hell. I am with you michellegb I can’t even fathom why someone would do that. |

But the board is public though Mom. You don't need to be a member to read it. Anyone could have read that e mail if they googled a word that was being discussed. They don't even have to know of the existence of the board. But it is clear that this is related to the events of the past week. If someone happened upon this board due to googling any of the words connected to George Floyd, they wouldn’t know that leowife was the person who ran the Christmas Card exchange and therefore where to look for her email address. It would take a working knowledge of the board to put the pieces together to find her card email addy; and then to have her street address the person would have to have been a participant. Yes, there is the remote possibility that with hours of research, an unconnected-to-NSBR person could have eventually found all the information, but I don’t know what the motivation would be to target someone the researcher didn’t know. I posted before I saw the fact that she knew her address.I should have edited my post - sorry. I don't know how the card sharing works, I've never participated. |

Obviously the board is (for all intents and purposes) unmoderated (totally up to admin and I respect that decision). While I understand that apparently it is not known who is harassing @leowife, I’d like to see the screen name of the person who posted elaine’s personal info. I think most of us would. I’ll admit to being extra sensitive to what’s going on due to personal circumstances. If admin isn’t going to boot folks off for bad behavior, we, at the very least, need to shun them. |

WTAF??? This is beyond disgusting. No matter what your personal views are, how vile to take something SO GOOD (the card swap, which so many of us love and have done for YEARS) and use it in this way. I am saddened and disgusted this has happened. @leowife , I am so very sorry this has happened to you. Lots of love and positive energy to you. I hate that I'm on a board with a coward.
