Yes, I’m fairly certain Lauren was one of the two (or more) people sharing that userid. The other person lives in Chicago (she brought up an immigrant protest that made it difficult for her to get to work, and Chicago was the only city that had a protest on that particular day). Her posting interests align with an old-time pea from Chicago who hasn’t posted under her name from the old board for the past 5.5 years - my guess is that she is the other person, but I, or course, could be wrong, so I won’t name her. On the old board, I know that there was at least one instance of two right leaning peas sharing the same alter. They shared the logon info and took turns posting as that person. I think that was going on in the case of lovetocolor which is why she could so vehemently deny she was Lauren - the person posting at that time wasn’t Lauren, it was the other user sharing the username. Oh what a tangled web... People are endlessly fascinating in all their messy behavior, aren't they?

I'm just getting to this thread now. I'm so sorry this happened to you Leowife. I'm disgusted and upset for you and your family that someone from our Christmas card list, that I've participated in for the past 5-6 years, did this horrific cowardly act. What the actual fuck? Leowife is one of the nicest Peas I've "met" here on this board. For years she has dedicated her time to organizing this swap and I have to say it's always the highlight of Christmas for our family to see all of the amazing, thoughtful cards (mostly handmade) fill our mailbox every December.
To take such an innocent swap that is full of kindness, warmth and well-wishes and abuse it in order to send hate mail to Leowife is the epitome of cowardice and bullying. To threaten her life and those of her husband and especially her children is a crime and I hope to hell you get caught by the authorities and are prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law-and then some! Whoever you are you make my skin crawl and my stomach turn. Shame on you! Get some therapy, you certainly need it.
Leowife, the way you have responded to this shows me what a class act you've always been. Again, I'm so sorry this happened to you. My prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.

But it is clear that this is related to the events of the past week. If someone happened upon this board due to googling any of the words connected to George Floyd, they wouldn’t know that leowife was the person who ran the Christmas Card exchange and therefore where to look for her email address. It would take a working knowledge of the board to put the pieces together to find her card email addy; and then to have her street address the person would have to have been a participant. Yes, there is the remote possibility that with hours of research, an unconnected-to-NSBR person could have eventually found all the information, but I don’t know what the motivation would be to target someone the researcher didn’t know. I would guess that it was a Pea familiar with the card exchange. I am an active board member but don’t participate in the exchange — so I didn’t even know leowife was even the organizer until reading this thread. That’s why I think it more likely to be a participant or someone who has participated in the past. My thoughts as well. I have seen the card swap thread in the list of threads but haven’t opened it so no idea who participates yet alone who organizes it. Every once in a while I think it would be fun but I am to skeptical for this very reason.

I’m not sure if lovetocolor and Lauren are the same pea. But immediately upon lovetocolor posting Elaine made a baseless accusation that I created lovetocolor as an alter and of course several other peas jumped on the bandwagon. I stopped reading your posts a while ago, but based on Elaine's response, I just made an exception. I was on the bandwagon of "lovetocolor" of being Lauren. Never once did it cross my mind that it was you. I recall many people thinking the exact same thing, I have never once read about anyone thinking it was you. Never. It's always been Lauren. That's why she eventually changed her ID to "notlauren" - because multiple people thought she was Lauren, she did not change it to "notolan" because no-one thought she was Olan. BUT Let's assume for a minute that even *if* Elaine did think you were 'ltc' after her first couple of posts, it became obvious very quickly that it was not you and the attention shifted VERY quickly to Lauren instead, so either it did not happen at all (my opinion) OR if it did, it was no fleeting and so inconsequential and so rapidly replaced by the idea that she was Lauren that it didn't have any impact on you anyway. So stop bitching about it because *if* it happened, it was so brief that no-one except you noticed it and the concept that ltc was Lauren took over pretty quickly and that's the impression that has lasted.

That is a SERIOUS misuse of the family Christmas card list!
Seriously, I'm sorry someone sent hate your way. Who has time for that?
