OK, this afternoon I got 28 new Christmas cards made by chopping up old Christmas cards. Some of them were just cut down the spine and paste the old front to the new base, but I did actually get crafty and even fussy cut bits from some to make them work. They have to be A2 size for the charity I’m donating to, so bigger cards needed to get cropped! I will try to share a photo later or tomorrow. I still have at least that many more to upcycle tomorrow. And I think I even accidentally met some of the challenges

Finishing up Monday's challenges with #2 - a family favourite - and picking up #3 for Tuesday - the PL card has some of the lyrics to a Christmas carol

December 2018 layout but not Christmas related. I think it still meets the 2nd Tuesday challenge though (food and drinks)

Here’s a quick picture of today’s progress. Many of the cards were handmade by Peas so I won’t share pictures of all of them since all I did was upcycle them, but most of these that are visible I actually did something vaguely crafty with. I hid a Canadian maple leaf on the bears http://instagram.com/p/CBPT7kfJq1l

which reminds me sleepingbooty - what exactly counts as a Christmas layout? Just Christmas Eve/Day? Christmas related events like Advent and tree decorating? Anything in December? New Year's Eve? ANYTHING belonging to *your* Yuletide season counts! Shopping for gifts, going to the tree lot, recording the December weather, hot cocoa, snow, being cosy inside, bundling up to go outside, baking biscuits/cookies, going to Starbucks for a seasonal drink, decorating the house, grocery shopping for Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Festivus dinner, special holiday PJs, all the bad Hallmark rom-coms you've watched, Friendmas, the pretty lights around your neighbourhood, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Epiphany if you celebrate and all the way down to Lunar New Year. We're all different and don't all follow the same "Christmas journey" so I want to make sure everyone understands this is open to however they celebrate the end of the year and their own traditions.

There is only one album that I am up-to-date on. One. And that is my Christmas album. NOTHING is more fun than scrapping Christmas. The papers! The embellishments! I love love LOVE Christmas scrapping. I am so far behind on everything else I think I am in the last century You can join us with any project, any album. Christmas is only a suggested theme... Come on, give in to temptation!

KikiPea 'Hey, it's your day' Oh my, look at the gorgeous mixed media splatter work! It looks like a true sunburst. Your cluster work is always spot on and just right. I adore the little balloons flying away from "out of" the frame. Very clever and fun. That open window effect reinforces the sun impression from the yellow splatters. Great energy overall. I love how you've balanced the vertical line of the center burst with the horizontal plateau work you've done with the strips. Super impressed with this! PS: Printing on vellum looks scarier than it is. I recommend test-printing first on a smaller piece. Some vellum papers have a bit of a coating on one side and you need to figure out which it is before you run it through your printer. The grainy, slightly textured side is the one you want to be printing on. Depending on your printer (and the weight of your vellum paper), you may need to adjust some settings but you should be able to figure it out pretty easily!

Ryann 'Merry Christmas' This is such a fun LO! That background paper is giving me lowkey retro vibes and I'm here for it... Is that from Basic Grey? Very pretty. And the almond green is so yum... I love your super tight candy cane stripe matting. It looks like just a tiny bit of candy wrapping peeking out, great little touch. Great mirroring of the wood panels with that pattern paper. Beautifully done! *tries to grab that green pattern paper through the screen*

justjac 'Christmas morning joy' It's a case of perfect colour matching, AAAAH, my eyes and brain are doing a happy dance right now! You've done so well getting so many photos on this double-pager without making it feel heavy. The white frames on selected photos is such a neat trick to help the eye travel and keep the pics popping. Very impressed with how you decided to lay out the photos too so that the colours would be balanced all the way through, especially for the tricker hues like pink and purple. That little Santa peeking from behind the tree is adorable, by the way. And I recognised those lovely glitter letters from Heidi Swapp if I'm not mistaken... Very well done!

Linda 'Oh holy night' An Advent wreath with candles, oh my, it's been such a long time I've seen one of these! I love how you've documented keeping a dear family tradition alive via Facetime. That plaid paper is superb, by the way. Digging the grey-ish tones. I'm not sure you've done this on purpose but the burgundy/maroon mat clustered together with the PL card and the long banner strip and house die-cut makes it look like you've recreated a graphic map of a little town which I think is adorable in light of coming together with your daughter despite the distance! Super neat. 'My science project' Aww, the ruled paper, such a cute touch for a school project! I love how you've recreated two of the triptych panels with those large banners. It makes my geometric soul sing... Great colour extraction work (as you always do, Linda). These are memories often lost so kudos to you for documenting all these milestones. And yes, I totally had an eyebrow go up when I read "coke" until I realised it was just Coca-Cola. I may have been watching the latest season of Queen of the South on Netflix lately and have my brain stuck in drug cartel mode...

joblackford 'Stack of Christmas cards' Holy schnitzel, joblackford, these are seriously ca-yoot! Kawaii levels of cute, let me tell you. Can't pick a fave. Those kitties hanging mistletoe, the super festive (and fancy schmancy) puppers, the aww-inducing bears and that fly moose. It's hard to single one out. They can ALL come live with me! (except the kitties as I'm allergic *sad face*) Love the colour scheme here as well with "alternative greens" like the mint and muted shades. That wood pattern paper is gorgeous, by the way.

Hi pea friends! Been following this thread from the beginning but knew I wouldn't have time to participate with still working full-time...until yesterday. I was unfortunately one of 11 employees to have been let go permanently from my job. 7 years. Loved my job. Loved my schedule. Loved my co-workers. Gutted.
Company sales down 50% last month due to COVID-19. Catastrophic.
Life will go on. Unemployment will be filed. A new job will be found.
Until then, I will take one day at a time...
...and I will finally get some ME time with my stash. ♥

Hoping to have some time and energy to play today. Came here looking for today's prompt (even though I have not touched the one for day two, yet). Have an idea, though... @bdhardy, thanks for sharing your Pinterest boards. I am following those and a few others. Can never have too many crafty ideas. Wow, Linda, when Mojo moves into YOUR home, it comes at gale force, I think! SIXTY cards? And all wonderfully festive! Love the colours and patterns and how you mixed them up to each be special. And some pages as well? Again... WOW!!! sleepingbooty, loving everything you do to keep this crop active and fun, and I am so glad that you are getting to play in this crop. The Disney pages are really cool. Love how you split the one photo and then let the other one have a whole page to itself so you could include the happy holiday lyrics on the facing page. I can see why you love this size of album. It goes so well with your style. KikiPea, that whole PAGE screams "HAPPY"! Love the spritzing, the layering, the fun colours, and of course that wonderful happy photo! Ryann, that two pager is wonderful. I love how the photo blocks flow from one to the other page but are not identical. Also love the softer tones of red and green. Always love to see your family celebrations in your pages, justjac. This sketch gave you a great way to show details as well as the overall experience. Love the big title block as part of the design. And joblackford, those cute animal cards!!!! So much fun! And I love teal as a holiday colour.

So much great work so far!! grammadee - I love your Gnome card! The nuvo drops were a great idea to add interest and I always love doiley's on cards and pages! Linda - Wow! You are on fire with the Christmas postcards. What a spectacular way to use up your scraps. It is fun to look at your cards and remember the different lines! And your Science Project layout is so fun! What an interesting topic! And your sweet helpers! I have a grumpy cat who would never be sweet and "help" like that! sleepingbooty - I love, love, love your Disney Paris Parade layout! The vellum with the Christmas lyrics is beautiful! I love the font you used. I too ponder the correct fonts a lot and never know what to use. You went with the right look for sure! And your photos are amazing! Love the big photos! KikiPea - Your Happy layout is just that - happy! I love all the layers of embellishments. So much to look at and it really is just eye candy! Ryann and justjac - Your pages both get to the heart of the hardest thing about Christmas photos for me - those present opening pictures. I always want to include them but never quite know how to make the chaos look good! But you both did it! I think the key is the papers and embellishments that enhance the layout. Great work both of you! joblackford - Your upcycled cards are darling! I love that you do that. What a wonderful use and I am sure the new recipients will enjoy them again.

nicolep Sending you loads of safe distance hugs. That's scary news. I know you'd been mentioned before on the board you might lose your job due to the pandemic and how the silver lining would be spending time with your little man so I hope you can find comfort in being there full-time for him for a bit while you search for employment. Won't you join us for some crafty time this week... There's enough merriness in here to go around and help you forget about the current situation! I might even tease you about your hoard extensive collection of kits waiting to be used. Hang in there, friend.

joblackford 'Stack of Christmas cards' Holy schnitzel, joblackford , these are seriously ca-yoot! I feel like I can't take credit for any of the cute - Peas just have awesome taste in cards they made or bought to send for the Xmas swap! Lots of great kitties (yes, I'm allergic too) and pups, lots of cool colors, both traditional and not. The wood patterned paper is the back of a store bought card. So is the plaid (or maybe the back of a SU! card base) So far I've only used 3 of my own papers to make a card work. For those that don't know what this project is, after the Pea card swap I apologize to the handmade cards and then brutally chop all the card fronts off all the lovely cards I received, and I save any of the back pieces that might be useful too. Then I trim/die cut them down and stick them on new bases to send to the Caring Hearts Card Drive in November. It's usually about 80-100 cards to work with and I can make about 75% of them into new cards I'd guess. I hate to waste people's handmade cards, but I also can't keep them all. I'll be digging in again today, braving the mountains of glitter (oh, how I despise glitter!) and seeing what I can come up with. I'm getting into the bigger cards that are hard to cut down.

I'm still puttering along although it's 8:30 PM here and I'm about to take a break for dinner + movie. I do have tomorrow morning off which means I have several hours to have some crafty fun! Right now, my Achilles heel is getting the journaling strips printed, cut and ready to adhere. Ahem. I have five mini album spreads finished minus the journaling.
