So sorry for your loss, patin. That is a wonderful photo and a memory to treasure. So glad you could check that trip off your bucket lists together. Thank you for checking in with us. Hoping you can continue to spend time with family and friends until you are more comfortable on your own. And please feel free to pop in here whenever—whether you are crafting or not. Gotta go. Dd and dgs are here until tomorrow afternoon. Will chat later.

patin, I'm so very sorry for your loss. I'm glad you have some friends and family to lean on in this very rough time. You are a beautiful couple and one day far in the future you will be together again. Sending hugs, loves, and continued prayers. I left love in the gallery on your beautiful layouts, kellyr21. I hope to go view that video as soon as possible too. nylene, I'm so glad you didn't get flooded and the drains were all working. mmmm, milkshakes! That's always worth a drive! We had quite a few pokeys in attendance on saturday: gramma, joyfulnana, justjac, & msliz, which I loved seeing. msliz, congrats to your DD on getting her diploma!! So very happy and excited for her. Well, I finally made it into the pool. I guess the pool season is really open now. I'm always the very last of the family to go in. It was so much warmer than last year though (DH installed a solar heater), and it was over 85 today. But I'm such a big baby. I was still out way before the girl. I also got out of making dinner. Double bonus day for me. No one was really that hungry, so it's heat up leftovers or fend for yourself. Works for me. My brothers birthday is Wednesday. He doesn't want to pick a cake or a birthday dinner out. Everyone else is telling me chocolate cheesecake. I guess I'll be making a trip to the store tomorrow. But yum, cheesecake.

Oh, patin, I'm so sorry to hear the news. Such a sorrow. Your past few weeks must have been so very difficult. Hugs, thinking of you. It really is too bad this pea community doesn't have a virtual door we can step through to be real-life supports at times like these.

Good Tuesday evening, Pokeys! The last few days flew by and I had to check the computer to see what day it was. If things had gone as planned, we would have been landing in Abbotsford about now, ready to attend our dgd's high school grad. Rainy weekend, but we still spent alot of time outside with the dogs. They seem quite content to stay in the yard now--or at least they are resigned to it... Dgs and I made a gift out of alphabet blocks for his teacher and then a card which he carefully decorated with his own unique art. I didn't get a photo of either one, not even one of him working on the projects. He also spent some time with Grampa preparing our driveway sign for repainting. I will be doing the actual staining of the flat surface and painting black the letters that were once wood burned. Didn't get to that today. The sun is out and the garden is slowly drying. Hoping it will be at least Thursday or Friday before I can get out there to start weeding. Hoping to do some playing with paper tomorrow. Have an idea for a two pager using LisaDV 's Saturday sketch. And if I can play along with the Christmas in June prompts without causing an avalanche of Christmas supplies, I will attempt to do that too. Also need to get to the sharing thread and the Gallery to see what creations I have missed in the last few days. Also hoping to join in on at least one Hangout this weekend. Hope to see some of you there.

Hello everyone.
The Christmas in June Crop seems to be just what I needed to jumpstart my motivation. Made 60 postcards to send to the nursing home in December and have just finished my second layout. Hopefully I stay motivated and can get a little caught up on my scrapping this month.
I've been walking almost every night for over a month now - about an hour every evening. Sometimes one of the girls join me, sometimes it's just me.

janesays, I hope you got to get some crafting done. Linda, so glad you got your mojo back. I've been walking every morning for the last 2.5 weeks. I missed this morning though. Power outage started at 12:10ish last night and lasted until 10:50 this morning. It never got cooler than 75 in the night and was super muggy. Still is. Although it should cool off tonight. Yay! So my lack of sleep from worrying and the heat/mugginess made me skip today. It's such a great stress reliever though and I'm sleeping (normally) so much better. Glad the pups have finally learned their boundaries, grammadee. Brother isn't getting cheesecake due to our power outage, kellyr21. Plus it's a LOT of work since I'd have to make 2. DS doesn't like the gluten free one. The government safety site says if your refrigerator is without power for more than 4 hours you should toss many condiments, soft cheeses, cooked meat, thawing meat, lunchmeat. Of course, who went to the grocery store yesterday and has a fully stocked fridge?! Yep, me. How many of you would follow those guidelines? I just hate the idea of so much food waste, but I don't want to make anyone sick either. DH & DS left early this morning to go get the generator from the farm. DH was suppose to bring it back with him last trip, but instead decided wood for the coming winter should go in its spot. mmm, not so much.

ugh - power outages are no fun especially when it's hot. As for the foods - if things still feel cold, they should be okay although milk might have a shorter life before turning.

I just hate the idea of so much food waste, but I don't want to make anyone sick either. I would move the fridge food into camping coolers if you have them, with some ice if you already have some or if you can purchase some. Wouldn't worry about condiments. Things like ketchup, mustard, even jam, can spend days at room temp without problems. Pickles have vinegar and that was used as a preservative long before electricity. We have used milk, lunchmeat, cheese, veggies for DAYS out of a cooler at the lake. Hope you get this resolved SOON! I missed why the power was off???

LisaDV, I agree with Linda and grammadee - if things are cool, they'll be fine. I'd eat lunch meat quick, and the milk will have a shorter life, but most items, even mayonnaise, are remarkably stable as long as they're not warm. And I'm sure people weren't in/out of the fridge in the middle of the night. The first thing we say to the family when the power goes out: stay out of the fridge and freezer! Keep the cold in! Remember the big power grid failure in August 2003? We were 26 hours... we put our frozen meat in the fridge to keep stuff cold, and as it thawed we barbecued it We ate a LOT of meat that week because we had just stocked up our freezer.

Thanks ladies, Linda, grammadee, and kitbop. The power was back on before I posted. However if I had been more awake when I was told it went off, I probably would have thought about a cooler. Duh. I did finally think of it after the fact. I did end up throwing the milk out just to be safe, and then cleaned up old condiments and sauces. You’re saying what you have makes me feel alot better. Thank you. Linda, it was a storm system.

LisaDV, I am sorry about your power outage. When we were fire lookouts for the Forest Service we just had coolers for all our food and it was replaced every 2 wks. Milk was the only thing that didn't stay good. I think you are safe. Good advice from the other Pokeys. grammadee, I'm sure you enjoyed the family visit for the weekend, but doesn't it seem hard to get going again? That has been my experience. I have not had a chance to play along with the CIJ until tonight. I will see what tomorrow brings. I finished a page and some cards on Sat. but just got them posted today. I spent more time today going through old papers and deciding what to donate. My room is getting more organized and that feels good. kitbop, I took your advice and just inked the clouds on a separate piece of cardstock. I cut the HELLO and shadowed it, matted the clouds and added them to cards. I think my Card Club will like them. Thanks for the inspiration. I will post them soon. Now I plan to scraplift your sailboat card for DH for Father's Day. Linda, it's fun to see you excited about scrapping again. I am hoping getting into my Christmas stuff will do that for me. I am hoping I get to see more of you on Sat. evening. Sunday is harder for me to get into my scraproom. I do a lot of reading to DH on Sunday. It used to be to prepare for our Recovery Meetings, but now it's just become reading some good books. Since I can scrap all week, I feel like I owe him that time. It was 100 degrees on Friday and the HIGH on Monday was 57 degrees. This weather has been crazy. It guess it fits with everything else that's so crazy this year! LOL Hugs to each of you.

Happy Wednesday! nylene it is HOT out here, too. We rarely have have this kind of heat in June but it is what it is. LOL! I am working on art and some more video editing today. My upcoming tutorial videos will be a mini, mini journal album and my traveler's journal (suggested by msliz). I am starting a series called "Story Time with..." It will feature some of my art from the past and the stories behind them. I will keep you posted! I forgot to share with you the update I made to that mini album card on the video. I added a piece of vellum to the card and I like it better. Updated CardLisaDV- Oh no!!! Well at least you were able to replace everything but I would of gotten rid of stuff, too. grammadee- I hope it drys up enough for your garden to grow. How are the fur babies these days? Waving hello to everyone and have a good evening!

After a busy few days, I *think* the dogs are now content to stay in the yard. I left them out there today while I did some scrapbooking this morning and dh was busy with the fence surveyors. When I couldn't see them from my window I went out and called and they were nearby. I have some photos of Kandi I want to scrap, but probably won't get to them until at least this weekend. Finished a couple of two pagers today, both based on lifts, one from the challenge board and one from Pinterest. Let's DO this! by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Cousin Time by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Slowly getting my Easter week photos onto pages.

great layouts grammadee -love the hexagons and the rainbows stripes! We're not eating the oranges as fast as we're receiving them in our produce boxes - so I made orange curd (yummy on crumpets) and orange bars (like lemon square but with oranges - also yummy). I think an easy orange marmalade is next...which is good because I'm pretty sure we'll get some more in tomorrow's boxes. No scrapping yet today

patin, I am so sorry for your loss. I have been on vacation for a week now. I had a hard time the first few days staying awake during the day. This week has been a bit easier. I have lots of projects to do but I think having so many is making not accomplish much. I am enjoying the days off and just doing what I want. I have done some yard work and a bit sore. I decided I needed some rest from all that and I might pick that back up next week. My accomplishment for the day is to get the recycling loaded and drop it off. I am afraid I have to much since I needed to go in March but they closed down because of everything. My fur kids are hungry I can tell. They are dancing around every time I get up! I hope to check in next week. I hope everyone is staying safe!

I have finished a bunch of Christmas stuff, but can't seem to get myself in gear to scan and post them. Maybe later tonight.
We have had a Covid-19 scare. We are just holding until Monday when the man DH works with directly gets his results. The brother of this man (M) works with a man who was positive last week. Today his (M's) results came back positive also. The brothers live together so there is a good chance that DH's worker has it or has been exposed. It makes me nervous. I have felt ok about DH returning to work because he is outside and only interacts with one other worker, however, now that one worker is living with a positive case. DH doesn't plan to go back to work, but it may be too late to prevent exposure.
We were checking out what the Health Dept recommends when our internet went down. Someone hit a cable while digging and it has been out most of the day. I am happy that it has now been fixed. It's amazing how many things don't work when the cable goes out. LOL
I will try to get on and leave love for layouts later this evening. I am very behind on the Christmas thread and a little behind on the monthly thread. I'll just blame it on the internet. LOL
Sending healthy wishes to each of you!

Oh nylene! I hope that your dh's coworker's test is negative--for HIS sake and for your dh's. And your dh is right not to return to work right now. That worker may have tested negative last week, but may be positive by the end of this weekend if he continues to interact with his positive brother. I don't know how long it is contageous for. Maybe kitbop or knutschen could answer that. Glad your internet is back on. Thanks for all the love in the Gallery.

Happy Birthday knutschennylene - prayers - that is worrisome and I hope your DH a) doesn't have it and b) can stay home until his coworker and his brother are 100% healthy/non-contagious again kellyr21 - lovely mini-album - you're so creative Spent most of yesterday on phone calls - but my mum's house finally closed after three extensions (this is the second buyer- the first backed out due to C19). Hopefully we can close out probate soon - we're waiting on tax refunds and the IRS is months behind due to C19. Groceries this morning and am scrapping this afternoon with a break to help DD20 make dough - she's making a pecan filled Danish kringle for breakfast tomorrow. She made the mistake of telling me she thought she was good on cooking skills so now we're doing baking skills, lol. Last night was her night to cook and she made two lasagnes (in 9x9 pans) - one for dinner and one to freeze for another night. It was yummy and sadly all the leftovers were gone by the time I got back from the grocery store. D13 cooks tonight - she has baking potatoes in the crockpot for loaded baked potatoes.

Happy Birthday knutschen! I hope you are enjoying that week off! nylene I hope DH doesn't end up with Covid. It's such a nasty virus! No electricity or Internet is the absolute worst thing ever in my opinion! lol I've got to make it to another Saturday hangout! I love seeing everyone! No scrapping for me lately. The universe decided to test my resolve about not working so hard this summer. My week was totally blown up on Tuesday and I've been working nearly 12 hour days since. Next week is going to be more of the same. I have still had the urge to scrap, but no mental energy for it. I'm hoping to squeak in a few hours later today. After grocery shopping, some cleaning, and meal prep. I ate way too much fast food last week. I want to prep up some quick, no cook meals for this week. Isolation is over finally and Rudy and I had our sleep over. He's getting so grown up and I had to barter for snuggles LOL. I know your power outage is over LisaDV but I always stay out of the fridge and freezer, and if everything is still cold, I just use it. Milk would be the one thing I would be sketchy about. I finally made it to the sharing thread, not caught up yet, but hope to catch up this week. kellyr21 I also want to check out your video. Are you going to be posting regularly and this is the start of a channel? You are one talented lady!
