I believe it ran through our house last December. I believe this because last week, DH said he had a weird issue with his toes. Turns out his symptoms match COVID Toes: www.nbcnewyork.com/news/coronavirus/covid-toes-mysterious-skin-condition-could-be-linked-to-coronavirus-derms-say/2385143/He also had a dry cough from early December till about Christmas. I was talking to youngest DD and she said, “I had the same thing around New Year!” and oldest DD came down with something in mid January that she thought was Strep but she tested negative. It lasted about a month for her. I only had cold symptoms around the same time as DH. Do you think you may already have had it?

There was an awful cold/virus that went around here in January, it’s the sickest I’ve been in years. About half the people at work had it and we all needed 3-4 days off work. I believe this is the same horrible illness other people have mentioned and I don’t believe it was covid at all.

Do I think or suspect? Not sure but it is possible, I'll go that far.
A friend and I both had the same thing and then later my DS; in mid February. Something like a sickness none of us had ever experienced. I ended up overnight in ER getting IV drips and labs taken. I felt worse in that period of than when I had my kidneys removed, it was awful. It was deemed a virus but what kind who knows.
Now that you mention the toe thing, had similar but because of chronic condition and medications it's really hard to trace it all back, isn't it? Strings attached from symptom(s) to cause would be helpful but unfortunately it doesn't work that way.
So the best I can commit to is who knows/possible.

Yes. Also in December. My doctor said she was positive it was the flu, although I tested negative, and right on the line between bronchitis and pneumonia.
I was so sick, for about two weeks, with nearly every symptom of Covid19. My cough lasted for almost 4 weeks. I've had issues with two toes since then.

I do. I was SO sick in February. I had the worst cough, had trouble catching my breath, fever. I was in bed for days. I went to the dr and tested negative for the flu and strep. My husband was sick after me. Same symptoms but had a higher fever. DD got it to but hers wasn’t nearly as bad.

I think my husband and I both had it in early March. There were no tests available in my state at that time. We attended a wedding in late February. Many of the wedding guests had attended a party a few nights earlier. My state’s health department has confirmed that several of the guests at the earlier party contracted covid. My husband and I have both tested positive for covid antibodies.

No. Somehow we managed to come out of December-March with only getting sick with fevers for a few days. Usually we catch something that will knock each person out for a week each during that time.

I had a "knock you out" sort of virus with some chest heaviness back in early February that didn't seem like the flu. My boss and his wife had the same thing, but worse (they both have underlying issues). I was down and out for a couple of days, but they were sick almost a week and had lingering coughs. I don't think it was Covid, but I'm not ruling it out. My boss's wife thinks it was, he's not so sure.

No, I (knock on wood) have been pretty healthy all winter. Members of my family were very sick all throughout Jan and Feb, and several of my students were really sick, but I don’t know if if was just the crud or covid.

I was horribly sick for three weeks in January after returning from a cruise in December. I coughed my head off. But no, I don't think it was Covid.

I thought I did back in March because my oxygen level dropped significantly when I was sick, but I had the antibody test and it came back non reactive

No, the last time I was sick with a cough/sore throat was back in October, too early for Covid. I did have an asthma flare up for a couple of weeks in late February/early March but I attributed that to allergies. I just had a bit more wheezing than normal. It did worry me a bit, but I had no other symptoms (fever, coughing, tired).

I would not have thought I had it except dd1 (she lives on her own) took an antibody test last week that stated she Had had the covid virus. So then dh took the test and he was negative. About a week after I saw her when she had some lingering symptoms (like slight cold) I had one afternoon where I developed chills, fever, and started getting a sore throat and was like oh wow- I think I’m getting the flu because this seems like it’s going to be bad (I rarely get sick and if I do it’s very short lived). This turned out the same- by the end of the evening I felt fine. I’m taking the antibody test myself next week just to see since dd said the same thing had happened to her and she had the antibodies.

My husband was super sick with something weird back in early March. He got tested a couple of weeks ago, and he doesn’t have antibodies, so it was something else.
I doubt I’ve had it.

I had something in January that knocked me on my butt. I thought I was coming down with sinus so I got some Mucinex D which usually works great. It did nothing. The next day I felt really weak and exhausted. It took me until mid afternoon to drag myself to urgent care.
They told me my oxygen levels were really low, did a test for the flu which came back negative. I was diagnosed with a sinus infection, dehydrated and pneumonia on my left side. I missed 3 days of work, something I have never done before. Even after finishing my medication, I had a cough that lingered for weeks and just felt so tired. It took a good month before I had any energy or felt like myself. I've never been that sick in my life.

I had one of the worst headaches in my life for like a week straight. And I’ve been a chronic migraine sufferer so that’s saying a lot. Some people mentioned the worst headache ever as a covid symptom. We stay pretty close to home and I had no other symptoms and no one in my home had anything so it’s unlikely, but the thought did cross my mind.

My kids were just tested today. Back in Feb. they both had sore throats, mild fever, and my son developed a rash. They were tested for Strep and both were negative. Doctor said it was just some random virus and sent them back to school since they didn't have a fever anymore. Now that more has come out about the rash and kids with Covid, the doctor is suspecting that maybe they may have had it. They had their physicals today and she ordered the test. I think we get the results in a week. I had something in March that really I thought was just a seasonal allergy attack/cold but then it went to my chest and I couldn't get a deep breath. I never had a fever or any of the other symptoms. But the breathing was bad for about 3-4 days. Doctor ordered me a steroid pack. It got worse before it got better. I'm going to email my doctor tomorrow now that Kaiser has approved an antibody test. We shall see.

Something went through our school just before Christmas break. We were close to 20% absence rate due to illness, which is, I believe, when the county shuts a school down. I got it, which I rarely do (one of the benefits of working in a germ factory for 30 years is an immune system or iron). Kids were super sick, although I didn't hear of anyone in the hospital, kid or teacher.
I'm super nervous about returning to school in the fall.

No...definitely not.
About 3 years ago I had a bout with a flu, I needed two weeks off work, then I got really bad asthma and needed Ventolin nebulizers as well as a course of steroids. I usually walk home from work and couldn't do that for over 3 months. I had a cough/asthma for months afterwards. It's only the second time in my life that I've been that unwell, the last time I was in my 20s.
There was no corona virus around then,...that's my point, if you get a real influenza virus (not just a bad cold) then you do get really sick and some people get sick enough that they die. That happens regularly and it happened before anyone ever had corona virus. So just because you got really sick with a flu virus in winter, doesn't mean it was covid-19.

We’ve had no illnesses in our family.
I’ve had several friends who swore they had it only to test negative though. I only ‘know’ personally two people who tested positive. Of course, there are a few other six-degrees-of-Kevin-Bacon situations in which I know of people. But still not a lot.

My daughter thought they did in her house back in feb with flu symptoms but no flu, but tested neg for antibodies. The covid toes sounds like you may indeed have had it in your household.

No. I think many people wish they’ve already had it but most have not, statistically speaking even in hard hit areas.

Nope. We've all been super healthy here. My friend returned from a 6-week business trip to India in early Feb and got really sick with fever, loss of taste and smell, lingering pneumonia that responded poorly to steroids, and dry cough that lasted a month. That was before testing was available, but her doctor is pretty sure she had it. Probably caught it in one of the airports she went through on her 5-leg flight home. She just went for an antibody test yesterday, so we'll see.

We have been healthy. That said my son tested positive for COVID and didn't have any symptoms, and none of the rest of the family members became ill.

I have been approved for a Covid antibody test next week. If it's negative it won't prove that I haven't had it because not everyone makes antibodies. But if it's positive that will answer a LOT of questions.
Can you get reliable antibody tests where you are?

I was extremely ill over Christmas and for most of January, I had a sore throat that wouldn't go away (this lasted about 9 weeks in total), aches, shivers, streaming nose and eyes but no real cough. I was exhausted for weeks, I had no appetite and couldn't taste anything. So, I guess my answer is I don't know.
