I watched it this morning. One of my jobs for the day was to paint my nails and I felt like I could manage to not screw them up if I knew I'd be sitting in front of the tv for 2 hours and 40 minutes. Oh my God. I've listened to the cast recording so many times. I saw it in Mpls. This was so incredibly wonderful to see the actors from the original and so close up. I'm watching it again tonight with my daughter. I loved everything about it. I went in knowing I'd like it. I did not know that I'd feel so emotional watching it. What a gift they gave us at a time when it's hard not to feel down about our country. When I saw it in the theater I left feeling uplifted and optimistic about our country. I had the same feeling today. Rise up! TWO HOURS AND FORTY MINUTES? I promise each and every one of you that if I am ever gifted tickets to this or any other show I will hold a lottery and give them away right here. I'm glad for the people who are obviously getting joy from this!

I am SO with you on everything you said—but if I can tune in sitting in comfy clothes on my own couch without having to pay $600+ for a ticket, crammed into tiny Broadway theater seats, and I can get up to pee when I want and not stand in some crazy-ass long ladies room line, AND turn it off if I want, I may check it out just to see what all the fuss is about. I thought "all these people can't be wrong" but it turns out they are. Lol. I quit watching about the time Hamilton gets married and there are some sisters and then...stuff... Blah blah blah. I mildly enjoyed King George's song but I really don't anticipate the need to ever watch the rest. I truly don't get the hype. Aww you’ve got to at least watch all the way through before you disparage! It might grow on you in totality.

We’ve been in the room where it happens with the original Chicago cast and I may or may not have cried. Miguel is AMAZING and I hope he gets to go to broadway as was planned before the shutdown. I may or may not cry tonight with the OBC. I may or may not have cried when it was announced! I’ve made it to intermission so far and keep crying. All over the place. Not just at sad parts, but just so moved to see it sung “live“ again. I’m a hot mess and loving every minute of it.

I have listened to the soundtrack a bajillion times. I saw the stage production in Seattle. I just watched the original cast on Disney Plus (a huge treat...I never thought I'd get to see this version). The song The Unimaginable gets me every single time.
ETA: That scene when Hamilton is shot is so incredibly well done. I'm floored every single time!

I watched it with DS. He interrupted a lot to share additional background information on the characters. He loves history and when the musical came out he downloaded all the songs and did a deep dive into the American Revolution and Alexander Hamilton.
We really enjoyed it, the end was so emotional. And I absolutely loved the King George song's melody.
My sister texted that she and my mom watched it this morning and that if it ever comes back to Salt Lake we should get tickets. I laughed at her. I tried last time. It wasn't possible.

My 11 year old is loving it and I’m surprised. I paused at the intermission and he got up singing My Shot and then asked me four times when I was going to resume it!

Love it. Loved it. Loved it. Such a talented cast. I was worried about too many close ups because there is so much going on that I can’t catch it all live. But I think they did an amazing job filming. Loved being able to notice more background interaction of characters, the dancers and other subtleties I missed previously. And all but a few times they used “odd” camera perspectives really added to it I thought, and wasn’t distracting. They were even able to capture much of the magic of the live show with the lighting and stage movement. (That hurricane scene! When they are shot!) For both of us this really added to our enjoyment of the show. And really made us miss live theater! Yes I’m using a lot of exclamation marks, I am just that thrilled and excited!!! I have listened to the soundtrack a bajillion times. I saw the stage production in Seattle. I just watched the original cast on Disney Plus (a huge treat...I never thought I'd get to see this version). The song The Unimaginable gets me every single time.ETA: That scene when Hamilton is shot is so incredibly well done. I'm floored every single time! This. Our son was born way too soon and we haven’t had any success with surrogacy so the “it’s quiet uptown” refrain just guts me. I’ve seen it live 3 times and each and every time I am barely able to make it through it without causing a disturbance. We skip through the song when listening to the cast recording. But we watched the scene today and wow...the scene in our living room wasn’t pretty But it’s done so beautifully and is just very powerful. We are going to watch it again many times, the second starting again in just a little while; I’m hoping at least one of those times I can stop crying enough to actually see what’s going on!

I just can't. Especially when I saw it's TWO HOURS AND FORTY MINUTES. I think I watched more than enough to know it's not for me, but I am happy for everyone who is getting so much joy from this! Exactly. If you don't like musicals, you won't like Hamilton. It's a musical and no clearly crafted lyrics, talented actors or engaging storyline is going to change that. And that's fine. Not everybody needs to like everything. I'm going to assume that is why there have been a few other people who have popped in to let us know they will not be watching. They don't like musicals. I've read comments on FB that say they will not watch because the actors are POC. Fine. Whatever. Jeez. Short-sighted, sheer racism.

He might enjoy this book that inspired LMM to write it and this book about the play. DH devoured them.

It’s not all the same as the beginning, and gets easier to follow (and more emotional). But I’m a “must read the whole book before deciding I don’t like it” kind of person.

We were suppose to watch it this afternoon, but DD ended up getting tomorrow night off, so we are saving it for our at home 4th of July festivities. I'm not a huge fan of the cast recording, but I'm more of a visual person, so I'm hoping seeing it makes all the difference.

Some people like dumpster diving behind Ulta stores for tossed cosmetics and defend it with a passion and hate Hamilton and musicals.
Other people don’t like dumpster diving and love Hamilton and musicals.
It is a wonderfully diverse world.

Now a football game... those last forever and ever and ever (probably the same time as Hamilton) i don’t necessarily hate football games, yet it feels like time stands still when i’m watching.

Lord knows most of us have abandoned plenty of tv shows, albums, movies, books, because we recognized early on that they weren’t for us. Why should she waste more of her time when she already knows she isn’t going to like it?

Yes, watched it earlier to day with my teen. I'm not generally a fan of musicals and singing but she has loved the music for so long. And I do love history, so between her enthusiasm and the historical aspect I watched. It was really good and so much fun!

I was so anxious to see the play, but couldn’t get tickets. I watched it today. I thought it was wonderful. I plan to watch it as many times as possible. I think I read somewhere that it will stream for eight days. I hope I didn’t dream that— so forgive me if I’m wrong.

For those who don’t know King George is also Kristoff in the Frozen movies! Also, you know that a musical will have a cultural impact for years to come when even John Bolton names his book with a line from Hamilton. It is worth a watching or three for understanding the references that will be with us for a long time.

Plus he was in Spring Awakening. Groff sauce is amazing!

Just finished along with the live tweet. AMAZING!!! The filming was soooo beautiful! I remember the stage being the first thing that made us go “woah!” when we saw it live. I would’ve been the person to fall because I was dizzy.
And Satisfied made SO much since when we finally saw it. You can’t pick all that up from the music alone.
I loved loved loved this! I’m so glad they filmed this!
