KikiPea, I love those torn strips. They give your layout a Fall crackling leaves vibe. Cute photo. Love the Happy Tails title. That looks like a heavenly place for a dog to visit. I love your fall colors and that wood grain paper. grammadee, you have really been working. You have love in the gallery.

I love incorporating rainbow colors in my cards! I used the same fern image and just repeatedly stamped it using a rainbow of inks. Full details can be found on my blog.

I got back to a little cardmaking today. I played with Shimelle Never Grow Up, starting with the box of patterned cards that AC produces for their collections now. I chopped some in half and used the back piece (which often has a nice b-side print) to mat the front which I cut down a bit. I think their cards are a bit too flimsy so I’m happy to chop them up and put them on some nicer bases. I also bought the 6x8 pad and the die cuts, so I have lots to use, should be able to make a lot of cards if I can just manage to focus for a few hours. Planning to make lots of cheery hello cards. Not many people will agree with me about the dandelion as everyday magic but I love them! August cards by jo.blackford, on Flickr

Mom and dad’s 50th wedding anniversary dinner in 2018. I used Vicki Boutin art crayons to layer colors, then stamped the butterfly images and cut them out and used pop dots for the wings to give them dimension. I also stamped the image underneath so you can see it under the lifted wings. I just love this photo of these two. They had a great love for each other. GJ always had a sparkle in her eyes. I miss that. 🥰

Wow! I was away for ONE DAY and this place exploded! Need to catch up on leaving love! Here are the two pages I put together this morning. Had fun playing with Vicky Boutin cs, acetate. art crayons and brushes, and lots of water. The page is much brighter IRL, but the light here is terrible today--cloudy and gloomy outside.
POINTS: two pages created & shared (4). #1 two pages & seven photos scrapped for the Donna challenge (17), #4 all August 2020 (4), #6 two designers (4), #9 <25 words jounaling (1), #13 & 14 (4), #17 summer 2020 (2), #20 two 5x7 photos (2), #24 smiling (2), #29 scraps from my latest kit (2), #32 torn edges (2), #33 mixed media (2), #34 puffy word stickers (1), #37 scraps (2), #41 great outdoors (2), #43 banner (1), #47 arrows and chevrons (2). teacherlisa , I love your insights in your scrapping. I love the explanation of how simple is enough. I’m glad you are traveling. I hope we soon get control of Covid so we can all travel more. Cute photos. KikiPea, your parents’ anniversary page is beautiful. I love what you did with the stamping of the butterflies underneath and the cut outs. They look like such a sweet couple.~ I love the floral wreath. Leaving some of the flowers uncolored was a great touch. You do such gorgeous work.I love your touches of gold.

I love all your cards, CoffeeCrafter, and I love that you include links to the how-to's. That rainbow stamping around the diecut circle makes a really cool wreath frame. I love shaker cards, and this one is really pretty. teacherlisa, I love that you share your well thought out journaling with us. Congratulations on shaking off so many "should"s and "can't"s from your past to find the simple pleasures that bring you joy and fulfilment. And glad you are finding adventure in the little things. KikiPea! Love, love LOVE your pages! The gold splatters and the butterflies are the perfect frame for that lovely 50th anniversary photo. Thanks for the closeup of how you achieved those beautiful butterfly wings. And the memorial page is gorgeous as well. Love the sentiment and all the pretty flowers. A very special page.

I almost forgot to share the very quick congrats card I made for an acquaintance who just gave birth to twins. I didn’t have any babyish stuff, and she’s not a traditional mother anyway, plus her twins were a boy-girl pair so the gendered stuff wouldn’t work even if I had it. So I grabbed 4 cats I stamped and made a while back which happened to be colored like their cat. I trimmed it square and stamped a congratulations inside. Aug card by jo.blackford, on Flickr I’m just going to claim what I did today as a timed organizational kind of thing - I had to stamp and heat emboss the thank you message on the back of my business cards. I stamp the envelopes first and then once they’re melted I can add the thank you and quickly melt that too. It’s a pain in the backside, but also a sign that I’ve been getting orders. I put on a podcast I just discovered (The Lazy Genius) and tidied up my desk and got through a stack, enough to last me into next year. 1.25 hours of work. Aug chores by jo.blackford, on Flickr

Four pages today based on the classes and handouts from Scrap Happy's Scrap Smarter Experience: This first one, I started with the sketch in Victoria Marie's handout, and followed her advice to let the collection guide my choices. This was VERY OLD Bo Bunny with very bright flowers I knew I would never use as full sheets. But I took a tip from msliz , and covered up most of the pattern. Then I chose my cs to match, and used pieces from the collection: Play with ME! by Gramma Dee, on Flickr This second one started with Kristina Sorge's sample page where she used multiple strips as background for her page. Awesome way to use scraps! She made a strip of strips, but I--of course--ended up covering most of the page with the strips. For the companion page, I had several photos, so I just decided to fill in the blank spots with more scraps.
POINTS: four pages created & shared (8). #1 Donna challenge 4 pages (20) and nine photos (9) scrapped. #4 two pages about this summer (2) and two with photos from August (4). #5 two pages with lots of different papers (2), #6 the first LO has <3--mostly just BB (4), #9 <25 words per LO (2), #13 & 14 (8), #15 doodling on journaling on one page (1), #24 I am still smiling (4), #29 BoBunny kit from years ago (2), #31 fussy cut a few of the scraps (4), #32 tearing is my thing! (3), #33 and inking (4), #34 foam letter stickers (2), flat letter stickers (1), icon stickers (2), chipboard stickers (2), #35 clocks on two pages (2), #37 only scraps on the last one (1), #40 two generations on three of the pages (6), #41 it's all outdoors (4), #50 bumpy and yellow on two pages (2),. Those flowers are gorgeous, CoffeeCrafter ! Your colouring is awesome! Here is a two pager I came up with after classes from Shimelle and Tazhia in the Scrap Smarter Event. I swear that first page is square--or as aligned as I ever get a page--no idea why it looks so off kilter in this photo! Campfire Stories by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Thanks, gramma for the layered diecut piece. I wanted to use the marshmallows, too, but they didn't match the ones in the picture and I didn't want to ruin them by experimenting with inks.
POINTS: two pages created & shared (4). #1 for the Donna challenge, two pages (10) and seven photos (7), #4 both pages from August 2020 (4), #6 <3 manufacturers (4), #9 <25 words (1), #13 & 14 (4), #17 Summer 2020 (2), #21 one page with 4x4's (1), #24 smiling (2), #32 torn edges (1), #33 inking (2), #34 flat icon stickers and flat letter stickers (2), puffy letter stickers (1), #41 outdoors (2), #43 banners (1), #53 diecuts (2). KikiPea wow! The woodgrain with the florals and are perfection on Making Memories! That black dotted background works so well with the bright green. It still gives an illusion of white space but adds so much interest. And your pickles page is just so cool! I love the journaling around the circle and and those pictures are awesome! And wow, your tropical beach page is gorgeous! You definitely caught the mood of the tropics with those colors! I love what you did with the VB crayons. And I love those edges on your Paige Evans inspired page! I never remember to tear the edges anymore, and those colors are perfect! Hahaha I love that coffee card CoffeeCrafter! I have no idea what a day without coffee is like either lol. The Time for Cocktails so pretty! I love those colors and again, fitting for me lol. And your Christmas card is beautiful. I love that the colors aren’t traditional red and green, great simple design and yet so many details. Love how you matted what to me looks like a card within a card for Eat Cookies. Your cards are just beautiful. I love the coloring on the Perks card and the grey and green on the Hello card are so pretty! schroema - Your Homecoming layouts are beautiful! I love those colors. The butterflies are a perfect touch. Great job with that sketch, I really struggled with that one! The getting ready page, so fun documenting that! I feel so bad for all that the kids are missing out on right now. So cool that you used cuts from her curtains and new fabric! I love that! There’s some love in the gallery for grammadee, nylene, AussieMeg, joblackford and kitbop! I’m not caught up yet, but hope to be in the next day or two. So much loveliness ladies!!! So inspiring!!

grammadee - how fun for your grandson to have a birthday & a celebrate! All of the celebrate pages are great -- fun colors and wonderful designs! Your August calendar page is beautiful. Great job with the mixed media on the sunshine page. It's so cool you were able to put what you learned from Scrap Happy right away. You did a great job neutralizing the busy pp on the Play with Me page and I love the idea of using paper scraps for the background on the mini grampa page. nylene - I love the title...perfect for Swayzee, a beautiful little fashionista <3 CoffeeCrafter - your rainbow flower card is so delicate and lovely. You did a wonderful job on the magnolia card. joblackford - It's a shame the paperweight was lacking a bit but I am glad you were able to make it work for the cards. They are super cheery and I love the dandelion. I think the vellum looks really nice on the bumblebee card. AussieMeg - great page!! I love the colors and there's so much to look at. teacherlisa - thank you for sharing your OLW page and thoughts on adventures. It's amazing how things we're "taught" in childhood are so hard to shake off as adults. KikiPea - I love all the details on your pages. Stamping under the butterflies and adding gold is a nice touch to the 50th anniversary page. I love all the pictures on the Random Date page. Your clusters are amazing and I LOL at the To-Ma-Toes card. kellyr21 - your page makes me want to get obsessed with shimmer sprays & stencils. It's just gorgeous!

I got a wee bit done in my virus diaries this week and weekend. I wanted to put in this “we didn’t start the fire” lyric post I found but everyone on IG said I had to explain it (some people didn’t know about “Dr Demon Sperm”) so that element became a vellum flip-up. Closed Aug virus diaries by jo.blackford, on Flickr Open, with my best explanations of all the things mentioned in the song, with much help from google. Also a chance to add another meme. Aug virus diaries by jo.blackford, on Flickr This spread largely came out of discussions here on the boards. The left side is about Black scrapbookers getting a little recognition. The right side is something I thought about when I read a thread on NSBR asking this question. I hadn’t written much about anyone I knew getting sick in Vol.1 (we have been lucky) so I thought this was worth recording here. The ant paper is random - it had the right lined rule for me to get all my words in. Aug virus diaries by jo.blackford, on Flickr The “no dick noses” thing probably needed a bit of explanation so I added the relevant meme to a previous page where there was a gap.

Wow! I need to get back in here and leave some love. I was busy taking classes and putting together pages over the weekend, but had to finish a couple of cards to put into the mail on Tuesday, so I got on that this morning. I actually got a 2-fer with this Newton's nook die. So now I have TWO pretty cards: one to mail to my dgd tomorrow and one to send to my niece in a couple of weeks. I may cut a bunch of these card fronts and put them into a ziploc so I can have them ready when I need to put a card together quickly. slimline porthole cards by Gramma Dee, on Flickr I had fun using my Simon Says Stamp gnome die on this one. My son has a really shaggy beard, and HIS son--soon to be 21--is working on growing his. I hope the image says "ref" and not "jail bird"...
Going easy Peasy with all my cards, so three cards created & shared (6), @ 15 points each. Total: 51.

What happened to your gorgeous page? I saw it a bit ago and wanted to come back and look at it in detail. But it has disappeared from my screen?!?
And yet it showed up in my quote. Freaky!!!
Love the idea of random dates, and this showcases #1 as a winner! love all the fun photos. That green is the perfect backdrop to bring them out. And I love how you used the floral clusters to frame them. Perfect use of the Rule of Three!
