I'm going to do this too, but rather than making a separate album it'll be a handful of pages in my family album. I'm going to make a greater effort to take more pictures this year, and of ordinary things, not just events. Can I make a suggestion for your watch lists? We have a tradition of watching Over the Garden Wall sometime in October every year. The story has maybe 10 short episodes, so it's not a big time commitment, and the voice cast includes Elijah Wood, Christopher Lloyd, Tim Curry. It's really well done! Lord, I LOVE that cartoon! So, so good. If you watch them all continuously it is just about the length of a feature film. And that’s a rock fact. (Throwing pocketful of candy in the air as I back out of this thread)

Rather than a single year, I've been wanting/planning to do a cumulative Halloween book of "favorites" from decor to movies, to coffee cups to favorite villains, candy, to an array of all things Halloween. I'd like to come up with something where I can add new stuff as needed every year. I don't have/do enough (as much as I love Halloween) to devote an entire album to every year individually. But there's a lot of stuff I love and have loved that I'd like to document and be ale to look back through every year. That is a great idea! I think I'll use it, starting with 2020, but probably adding some memories from previous years. Thanks for sharing your plan. ETA - Now I have to do it. I just remembered I have an orange album I have not used.

joblackford I have Ghost Stories travelling from the US to me! Ordered it earlier this month from an American vendor on Amazon. It's been haunting me since its release in 2019. For anyone doubting how good Ghost Stories is, here's a flip-through of the pad: Oh wow, that’s awesome! I couldn’t really see the details and didn’t think to look for a flip through. I looked through various paper pad options at scrapbook.com and found myself less than excited about anything orange. I think it will be much more fun to go very monochrome for the base and add color with photos/stickers/die cuts. And I love using white and silver pens on black pages, so I think I have an idea of how to build the notebook.

Well I've gone from "nah, probably not going to do that" to shopping for supplies to make my own junk journal with white journaling on black pages + this cool monochrome paper pad in no time flat. Face palm. Might have to take a step back and see if I really want to do this or I'm just riding along on your collective excitement. Ooh, I need this paper pad for my HP album!

Could def make a cool mini with that double-sided paper pad, wow! Now my head is spinning...I also like the idea of maybe more a dedicated October favorites book, that may even incorporate things of years past...hmmm...

It's something I can pull out with the holiday decorations each year and add to.

Right now I'm thinking about a bunch of sections, some might be small and others have a lot more. But, for me, I need some way to "organize" everything. I'm looking at doing: Books, Candy, Clothes, Cups/mugs, Decor (indoor/outdoor), Dishes, Food, Oct 31st (Actual Halloween day), Costumes, Movies, Pets, Music, TV shows/movies, Villains, Pumpkin/pumpkin carving, and Mis/odds & Ends. Some of them could and might get combined. I'm not quite sure yet. I'd love to know what other's plan to include. Especially if there's abetter way to organize stuff.

It's something I can pull out with the holiday decorations each year and add to. I actually think THIS is how I might do all my ‘catch up’ scrapping. I only ever completed books for vacations my ‘on going’ scrapping isn’t complete and has many holes in it as I just found pictures that worked with the product when I was on the local DT So after thinking of doing holidays over the years and since you mentioned the October daily I’ve been thinking maybe just traditions thru the years. Not worrying about ‘gaps’ hmmmmmm * might is the key word, I still am not holding myself responsible for ‘catching up’ it will be too much pressure. But at least if I buy an album & title it ‘fall‘ I can put ANY fall layout in it and then another album called ‘holidays‘ ( we have both Christmas & Hannukah ) and maybe a ‘summer memories‘ & a ‘spring‘ album? I’ve been thinking about this since the DD thread. Just a thought I’m mulling over in my head.

ETA - Now I have to do it. I just remembered I have an orange album I have not used. I have a black and white polka dot 8.5x11 3 ring album I'm using. I think it's DCWV. I know I got it at Joann. I like the idea of getting an orange, green, and purple albums. Something else that has a Halloween feel to it. Mine is almost full of costume pages.

I love Halloween, but with my kids being beyond trick-or-treating age, and not much of that going on in my complex, I'm excited to do this! I will probably do something simple, like either a story a day or a photo a day, but if I don't have a story I'll have to think of something else. I'm not going to be as strict as I am with my DD about making sure I have something for almost every day, I just want to document one of my favorite times of the year.
Somewhere in my stash is a Rusty Pickle Halloween kit I bought when they were going out of business. Haven't found it yet, but I did find a Jenni Bowlin kit from 2012! If Rusty Pickle shows up then I'll probably combine the two somehow, but if not, I'll make Jenni Bowlin work.

Ooooooh, this is such a good idea! Autumn is my favourite season. What are your plans? A traveller's notebook would be good maybe? Something small. I LOVE the idea of it being a photo a day project. Will you be using your stash? Will you be buying new pretties? You know, I have very, very little in the way if autumnal stash, so maybe this is a good time to do some shopping? I absolutely love the papers you shared, joblackford, so many ideas sparking off with them. What are you adding to your October agenda this year? Lots of walks, half term, my daughter's birthday, a trip to a zoo that's super spacious and doing social distancing right, various pumpkin recipes including homemade PSL, Samhain celebrations, pumpkin carving. I might give baking parkin a go. And actually, thinking about it, I'll probably continue the project until Guy Fawkes night as that's a big end of autumn thing and while we might not have a big fireworks display to go to this year, we'll probably have a few sparklers in the garden with baked potatoes for dinner. How are you adapting some of your favourite traditions to the pandemic? I've learnt over these last few months I am a socially distanced person at the best of times 😂 so I don't know if much will be different. The kids got really into trick or treating last year, but who knows if there will be much of that? We're currently on a little break and the village we're staying in are planning a skeleton festival over Halloween in which residents hang skeletons from their windows and people walk around and spot them, which is a nice idea and it would be cool to do something like that back home.

You aren’t going to add in Hocus Pocus? I haven’t seen all of those, I will check out the ones I am missing. Veronica Lake is so lovely in I Married a Witch. Well, she was lovely all the time, but especially in that one.

I've finished brainstorming my 2020 Halloween season movie theme + list. I'm going with female witch movies and calling it Season of the Witch, obviously. I mixed up genres and eras to keep it engaging and fun. You aren’t going to add in Hocus Pocus? I haven’t seen all of those, I will check out the ones I am missing. Veronica Lake is so lovely in I Married a Witch. Well, she was lovely all the time, but especially in that one. No Hocus Pocus this year. My SO and I both fail as 1990s kids on the Hocus Pocus front. Neither of us is crazy about it (but we still watched it last year). I think I'm going to hunt down Halloweentown as one of the bonus movies this year instead. Haven't seen it in forever but I remember it having its charm. How I agree about Veronica Lake being such a beauty and commanding on screen. I was shocked to see her in this interview, however. 48 looking in her 70s. What a tragedy her life and her drinking were. It's really bittersweet to see her in her glory days movies...

I'm curious to hear your review of The Witches of Eastwick. I've seen that one and Practical Magic. I haven't seen the others. I decided I'm going to do 31 pages. I have at least 12 costume pages. I did make a list of movies, podcast, and books that feel Halloween related. Just not sure on how to document them on a page.

Wow! What great ideas! I'm going to do a Halloween Memories book, in the form of an October Daily. Each day I will document a favorite Halloween from the past, or a favorite movie, song, food, or decoration. I'm planning to use my Halloween stash, which has been pretty much gathering dust for the past few years. My kids are 20 and 25 now.
I also just bought the Holidays are a Nightmare (Nightmare Before Christmas) and Midnight Movie (Rocky Horror Picture Show) stamp sets from Kindred Stamps, and this will be a great way to break them in. I'll probably use a mini album that I've made, or a pre-made one that I have in my stash. I am so excited about this! Thank you for the inspiration!

If anyone's interested in a softer, feminine aesthetic for their autumn/Halloween album, Prima have just released Pumpkin & Spice: Michaels has some decoration this year that would go great with that paper! I don't want to link them all separately, but the company is Accents by Ashland. It's the skull decorations with the florals.
ETA: I changed the link, easier to see the whole thing on this one!

What are your plans? | I'm not sure. We won't be going to the apple orchard, pumpkin patch or hayride this year. I may work on an ongoing autumn album and make some 12 x 12 layouts with pictures I still need to scrap from years past. Anything new that doesn't work in this album will go into my regular PL.
Will you be using your stash? Will you be buying new pretties? | I have a weakness for fall scrapbook supplies! I definitely need to work on using my stash. I have purposely not looked at any new goodies coming so this thread might be dangerous to my wallet. Lol
What are you adding to your October agenda this year? | We definitely plan some fall walks to pick up leaves. I'm hoping our local orchard might have some type of curbside pickup so we can still support them and buy cider and donuts.
How are you adapting some of your favourite traditions to the pandemic? | We are considering some type of Halloween get together via Zoom for my son and some of his friends.
Thanks for starting this thread!

Just read through the thread and wow! Lots of great ideas here!
I looked through my stash and forgot I had stuff to make an album about costumes and fall events from my childhood. Lots of October Afternoon Witch Hazel that I saved. My siblings and I spent a lot of time with our cousins. This might be a good year to complete this project.
Along with movies for October, does anyone have ideas for books? I don't read horror, but don't mind creepy. Thanks for any suggestions.

To those doing a Halloween egg hunt, I just found out about glow in the dark egg hunting! Sounds like such a marvelous idea for a spooky night in the garden. I'm totes jealous! Apparently, a small glow stick is inserted is inserted in the egg. You can buy them on Amazon.
