Well, I was ‘visited’ at the work gas pump area by a crow who had a lot to say & then later a turkey vulture. How’s that for fall birds. Guuurl, you in trouble. *Omen by The Prodigy starts playing* I looked up and asked the crow if he was a bad omen & he flew away. ( no idea why I think it was a male crow )?

JoAnn's has the new DCWV stacks in stock that DCWV can't even be arsed to promote or update their website with because...? Not sure us Europeans will have access to these but I have my eye on a couple. Monster Movie: Halloween Garden (*winks at refugeepea *): Boo Ya!: Pets & Pumpkins: I got all of those in 6x6 when they had the amazing sale a week or so ago. I really love them all! I needed more Halloween like I need another hole in the head, but they are very different then what is in my stash, so... They are really cute, I love the movie and pet one best.

I hung my rose eyeball wreath up today. Our house is pretty much always decorated for Halloween, but I brought out my blood soap (thanks Bath and Body Works) and black cat kitchen soap dispenser out today. I will get out some of our specific Halloween stuff out this week though.
Our Dollar tree had our Halloween stuff out already and it made me super sad that I won’t get to do my Halloween Activities with my students this year, but I will make sure I do some things with the 2 girls I will be working with. I bought some bones for counting and measuring activities, some eyeballs for a balancing game and to add to our slime, and some adorable cauldrons for sorting. No giant skeleton arms and hands this year, but fortunately I keep one in the kitchen so at least I have one to use for activity time. The girls will just have to share. It is super fun to attach a pen to it and make the kids write and draw while holding on to the elbow part.

I was going to incorporate this idea somewhere, somehow in my Halloween album. Eyeballs, rose, yes please!

My DCWV Ghost Stories has arrived but I think I got a factory dud because there's glue on both sides of the pad. I can't flip through it. I need to go in with a craft knife and carefully cut each page out of the double sticky situation... I'll get to it tonight and report back on how pretty it is in IRL.

“Devil’s Road: The True Story of Ed and Lorraine Warren” — which premieres on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 7 at 9 p.m. — boasts a vintage interview with Lorraine, whose work with her husband inspired “The Conjuring” films, as she recalled first stepping foot into the real-life Long Island home.
Archival images show the home inside as it was immediately after the Lutz family “fled in terror” in 1975, as well as the Warrens conducting their investigation. Lorraine, who died in 2019, explained how she took with her a relic and asked clergy of many faiths to join her in spirit in the home to protect her and her husband, who died in 2006."
On the Travel Channel!
I don't find them believable but there's something about Lorraine where I have to watch.

An update on the Ghost Stories pad: I love-love-LOVE it. It's everything I hoped it would be. I love that they mixed in some earthy tones for pages that have more of a soil reference (wilted flowers, buried skeletons, etc.). Adds just a small touch of warmth here and there without moving into the full-on vintage/sepia tone territory. I think I've worked out my October Daily format (4x4 mini) and structure: 1. Prologue: several anecdotes/stories about getting ready for October and Halloween season in September 2. October Daily with actual daily pages 3. Epilogue: a couple of early November stories still related to the general dead/spooky theme I'll be using this pad, some cardstock, kraft paper and 4x4 Halloween cards designed by Life Love Paper for Kelly Purkey. Supplementing with alpha and number stickers from my stash as well as vellum. Done!

I think I'm going to do a November daily and write each day what I'm thankful for. Can I stay here with the cool kids?

Not yet, but I'll keep things simple. I'll probably use a 3x8 or a 4x8 album, white cardstock and numbers stickers. I'll use a few embelishments here and here, but the focus will mostly be on words.

I got all inspired by the minimalism of shannanm's DD books that she shared on IG the last couple of days so I'm back on board, I bought the Ghost Stories after Paypal offered me $5 off to shop that link I shared (paid for my shipping and then I bought all the things - oops). I might be up for OD and DD, who knows?! Maybe 4x8 homemade (non)junk journal type of thing.

WARNING: SHAMELESS PLUG! I've got some new Halloween cards and tags in my Etsy shop. They would be great for October Daily books, too. The link is in my signature, and thanks for looking if you have the time.

I had to buy the new Hero Arts graveyard stamp set and thought you all might want to see it too. There is a little zombie and a little skeleton. heroarts.com/collections/mmh-september-2020/products/cm478-graveyard-heroscape There’s also a $10 off $50 orders using the code HERO10 (that I saw on the stamping board...) They also have some other fall scenes and pumpkins and jack o lanterns and fall stuff.

I'd have to go out my way to get to a Starbucks and that's not happening for this car-free lady during a pandemic so no PSL for me this year (we'll attempt a home-made artisanal version instead). Not a single sign of Halloween over here yet either. If I'm lucky, they might carry 2-3 bags of Halloween-themed sweets in one of my local supermarkets. I'll have to wait and see... BUUUUT I found a brand new product in the store today: pumpkin-filled ravioli! WOOHOO, first commercial sign of autumn 2020 for me.

I think I'm going to do a November daily and write each day what I'm thankful for. Can I stay here with the cool kids? I like that idea. Cathy Zielske does some sort of November thankful project. I did a few years back, I can't remember if there was a class structure or just a blog, but I used some of her digital hybrid layouts for the project. I got that offer one time thru cheapscrapbookstuff too! I've been shopping there regularly, they have good sales. I did see the Ghost Stories, but have decided to stick with what I have. The digitals would be fun to add some of your own sparkle or shine too as well. I've already started my Halloween season sort of.... watched Practical Magic, added some other titles to my watchlists, and also am combining it with Harry Potter, so watched a couple of those while scrapping too. I may end up just making some halloween based layouts versus a book, but am thinking of maybe just having a ongoing album to add to, like I do for December/Christmas. I have a black 6x8 album that would probably be good, but I am not sure if I want to stick to that size or not... I don't want to feel like I have to fill up a whole book, so whatever layouts I get to is good. I've been on a roll scrapping lately, so I don't want to lose focus on my pile of prepped layout kits. I am thinking of decorating my mantle for Halloween this week!

Not a single sign of Halloween over here yet either. There was frost on my van window this morning! I see cold weather as a sign. We turned on the heater too. The last two days there has been winds strong enough to be categorized in the hurricane three category! The worst of it is in and around Salt Lake City. I want to watch something creepy when you hear wind howling and rain falling.
I'm a sucker for trying pumpkin everything. I would eat that ravioli! I'm not a coffee drinker, but I have had the caramel apple cider from Starbucks and it was amazing!

Oh, that sounds really cold! Full-on Septembrrr... We had 29°C/84°F this afternoon but some thunderstorms through the day, eep! I was ready for a spooky movie with the moody skies, too. Hoping we don't have to turn on the heater until mid to late October around here. And not looking forward to it. I'd happily go sharesies on the ravioli but alas, that darn ocean between us! *shakes fist at world map* Will you be cooking and baking pumpkin things this autumn?

I've heard of pumpkin ravioli, I could probably find it here. I make pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. They are more cake like though. I usually make at least one pumpkin pie and hopefully will get a taste of my mom's pumpkin squares and her pumpkin roll.

I’ve gotten pumpkin ravioli at Aldi’s but you can’t count on it. I’m still waiting for their super delicious crab ravioli to come back but I guess it might not. Which is sad because it was fantastic and I’d make a special trip just to get it if they had it again

My daughter brought home a pumpkin spiced doughnut from work today. It's like she knows me! It was just the right amount of spices. It seems like with pumpkin flavored, you can get it right or very wrong. Now I'm excited to keep an eye on the other bakery and their pumpkin cream filled doughnuts.

I like pumpkin baked goods, especially when spiced right. (Who am I kidding, I like all baked goods 😂) I make a pumpkin loaf with chocolate chips, my daughter loves it. As soon as it cools off around here, hopefully by the time October rolls around, I'll make one. I'm working on a mini for my October Daily - I went searching for a little spider die in my stash and came across a bunch of Quickutz Halloween dies! A witch hat, a witch shoe, a haunted house, a cauldron, some ghosts and some bats. I was so happy I decided to look in that cabinet, I should open it more often!
