Over on Twitter--everyone seems to think John Kelly is the unnamed source. Say that DT went on a rage against John Kelly this afternoon. Also, while standing at the grave of John Kelly's son--killed in military action--he disparaged the death! Check out trending on twitter and John Kelly. This just hurts my heart. I know many people who very closely know John Kelly and his family. And whatever his politics, he is a father who sent his son to war and payed the ultimate price and had to deal with the aftermath of trying to make sense of that. I think he was an honorable man who tried to serve his country through unimaginable grief... I just fucking hate Trump and the messes he makes. John Kelley sold his soul to the devil when he became trumps chief of staff. He’s also making tons of money off an immigration detention center. Fuck John Kelley.

John Kelly enabled Trump. Stood there and stood up for him. I feel very little remorse for those who give cover to the deplorable behavior that sits in the White House.

He could have started out thinking he could make a difference, but when he knew he could not, he should have walked! He should have informed Congress, his ultimate boss in our place as our representatives!!!

Maybe he spent a lifetime fighting the wolves of terrorism, lost his son to then, and then saw terrorists exploiting the border so acted with the cold calculus of the military mind. Douglas Mc Arthur argued for back pack nukes on the battlefield back in his day... If only we had a congress and a President so no one policy was one man. But if he’s the source, he should have the courage now to speak publicly.

it's very long. I have been reading it. Since I have had 2 members of my family tell me it is fake and 1 "friend" who attacked me last week on another post, tell me it is fake today, I truly don't think what I post would change their mind. I am probably in the same boat here... Not sure I should risk it with DIL. She is my connection to my DGSs! The tweet just above your post. Andrea Mitchell has been a very supporter of dt Where are you getting this idea that Andrea Mitchell is a Trump supporter? I have never seen a single hint of that. Zero. Most of the time she seems barely able to control her contempt for Trump.

I WANT to respect John Kelly, I really do, but he has publicly displayed his bigotry and misogyny too many times. It’s hard for me to give him the benefit of the doubt.
I do hope he really turns on Trump one of these days and speaks out loud about it.

This story is disgusting. The fact that this can viably next a thread topic is disgusting.
I’m so sick of this administration making me sick. I am so sick of finding out how disgusting people really are. There is no low that ‘they’ won’t accept, defend and excuse. THAT is so much worse than POTUS himself, his enablers & excusers. Our society is fully broken.

Bill Kristol...
”Donald Trump tweeted this “You work so hard...” self-pitying lament just before setting off for his golf club for the umpteenth time.”
trump...
”You work so hard for the military, from completely rebuilding a depleted mess that was left by OBiden, to fixing a broken V.A. and fighting for large scale military pay raises, and then a slimeball reporter, maybe working with disgruntled people, makes up such a horrible charge..”
Let’s be clear here, trump does not care about people, military folks or otherwise. He cares only about money and power. When it comes to the military the power is the missiles and what he thinks are totally disappearing planes. Not the people who operate them, just the “toys” that he believes makes him powerful.

John Bolton hates Donald Trump and wrote a book about him has said, “I didn’t hear either of those comments or anything even resembling them. I was there at the point in time that morning when it was decided that he would not go Aisne-Marne cemetery. He decided not to do it because of John Kelly’s recommendation. It was entirely a weather-related decision, and I thought the proper thing to do. I never heard he made that kind of comment about another country’s forces either, no.”
Reporter John Roberts said on Twitter: “@ambjohnbolton told me today that if @realdonaldtrump had said he didn’t want to visit Aisne-Marne because the interred heroes were “losers” and “suckers”, he would have written an entire chapter about it in his book #TheRoomWhereItHappened.”

No I don’t. The reason is because John Bolton lies. And as far as the reason for not going to cemetery was weather related, the other Foreign Leaders managed to get where they were going in the same weather. If he had wanted to go, the Secret Service would have gotten him there.

What speaks to me is that the original article got the same story from four different people, which has since been backed up by several others in high positions. John Bolton could have missed that part of the conversation, or he could be lying. Or he could be telling the truth, and 6-7 others are lying. I’m going with the large numbers in concurrence, in addition to Trump’s long history of saying or doing other stupid things that make this story very easy to believe. Welcome, pixiechick. We always appreciate having conservatives stop by with evidence, not anger. I mean that sincerely.

I used that over real pics that came up in that search. 😞That was actually more alarming, than the stock photo. Some parents are perfectly ok with raising the next Kenosha killer apparently.

I think it’s upthread right in this thread. Several reporters for other outlets besides The Atlantic confirmed the story with their own sources. I’m too lazy to go look right now, but if I stumble across more evidence, I’ll bring it back here. (They’re all anonymous sources, which means they’ve been cleared by the journalist/publication, but aren’t being publicly identified. I WISH more people would come out of the closet, especially right now before people start voting.)

Confirmed by FOX news!
Sept 4, 2020 16:25:56 GMT -4 freddie said: Jennifer Griffin - National Security Reporter - Fox News.
”Two former sr Trump admin officials confirm .@jeffreygoldberg reporting that President Trump disparaged veterans and did not want to drive to honor American war dead at Aisne-Marne Cemetery outside Paris.”
”According to one former senior Trump administration official: "When the President spoke about the Vietnam War, he said, 'It was a stupid war. Anyone who went was a sucker'."
”This former official heard the President say about American veterans: "What's in it for them? They don't make any money." Source: "It was a character flaw of the President. He could not understand why someone would die for their country, not worth it."
”I read the source a few quotes from The Atlantic article. This former Trump admin official said, "The President would say things like that. He doesn't know why people join the military. He would muse, 'Why do they do it'?"
“Re: trip to mark 100th anniversary of WW I Source: "The President was not in a good mood. Macron had said something that made him mad about American reliability and the need perhaps for a European army. He questioned why he had to go to two cemeteries. 'Why do I have to do two'?"
”President Trump's staff explained he could cancel (his visit to the cemetery), but he was warned, 'They (the press) are going to kill you for this'." The President was mad as a hornet when they did.”
”When asked IF the President could have driven to the Aisne-Marne Cemetery, this former official said confidently: "The President drives a lot. The other world leaders drove to the cemeteries. He just didn't want to go."
”Regarding Trump's July 4th military parade, during a planning session at the White House after seeing the Bastille Day parade in 2017, the President said regarding the inclusion of "wounded guys" "that's not a good look" "Americans don't like that," source confirms.”
”Regarding McCain, "The President just hated John McCain. He always asked, 'Why do you see him as a hero?" Two sources confirmed the President did not want flags lowered but others in the White House ordered them at half mast. There was a stand off and then the President relented.”

I would love to have names and verification of their position but I also understand their desire to remain anonymous. Six other officials in the Trump administration went on record (unlike those who made the allegations against Trump) and directly disputed their account of what happened. Four who were with the president that day. They did it despite death threats or cancel culture. I have more respect for those that stand up with their account since doing so is more credible than hiding. Hiding behind anonymity tells me you don't have enough faith in your "allegations" to be a stand up honest witness.
Jordan Karem "This is not even close to being factually accurate. Plain and simple, it just never happened." "Again, this is 100% false. I was next to @potus the whole day! The President was greatly disappointed when told we couldn’t fly there. He was incredibly eager to honor our Fallen Heroes."
Sarah Huckabee Sanders "The Atlantic story on @realdonaldtrump is total BS. I was actually there and one of the people part of the discussion – this never happened. I have sat in the room when our President called family members after their sons were killed in action and it was heart-wrenching… These were some of the moments I witnessed the President show his heart and demonstrate how much he respects the selfless and courageous men and women of our military. I am disgusted by this false attack.
Hogan Gidley "These are disgusting, grotesque, reprehensible lies. I was there in Paris and the President never said those things. In fact, he would never even think such vile thoughts because I know from firsthand knowledge that President Trump absolutely loves, respects, and reveres the brave men and women of the United States military. He always has and always will. These weak, pathetic, cowardly background ‘sources’ do not have the courage or decency to put their names to these false accusations because they know how completely ludicrous they are. It’s sickening that they would hide in the shadows to knowingly try and hurt the morale of our great military simply for an attack on a political opponent."
Dan Scavino "I was with POTUS in France, with Sarah, and have been at his side throughout it all. Complete lies by ‘anonymous sources’ that were ‘dropped’ just as he begins to campaign (and surge). A disgraceful attempt to smear POTUS, 60 days before the Presidential Election! Disgusting!!"
Steven Miller "The president deeply wanted to attend the memorial event in question and was deeply displeased by the bad weather call. The next day, he spoke at Suresnes American Cemetery in the pouring rain and refused an umbrella. No one has a bigger, more loving, or more loyal heart for American veterans and fallen heroes than our president."
That one debunks the accusation that he was worried about his hair. Also, FOIA documents back up the call to not LET him travel due to the weather.
Lt. General Keith Kellogg "The Atlantic story is completely false. Absolutely lacks merit. I’ve been by the President’s side. He has always shown the highest respect to our active duty troops and veterans with utmost respect paid to those who have given the ultimate sacrifice and those wounded in battle."

FTR, sources who did not hear the comments aren't comparable to those who did. Your sources are not what I would consider credible witnesses either. I mean, if you have to go to Miller as a reliable witness, that pretty much says it all. 45 has made it clear in so many ways and in so many interactions that he simply does not have any respect for the military. I am not interested in trying to convince you. I am simply stating your case lacks credibility based on the sources quoted.

You are still ignoring the fact that other reporters have corroborated the story - independently - with their own sources. Half of those people vouching for him are pathological liars, and have shown themselves to be many times. Also ignoring the fact it’s on tape - he openly and blatantly *on tape* already called McCain a loser. Honestly, why is it so hard for you to accept he said these things? He’s openly brash, thoughtless and nasty on Twitter - in his own words. His own people can’t even defend it. It’s crystal clear he really could shoot people in Times Square in front of the world on camera, and there are people who will *still* vote for him.
