In the days immediately following his death, when everyone was posting their clips of this guy, I was surprised by how unlikable he came across. Felt like I was being gaslighted by all these people saying he was such a great guy, etc. when everything I was seeing turned me off. The name “douche canoe” kept coming to mind. But this video takes the cake! Holy crap! What an entitled ass. I cannot wrap my head around him having a fan base. What a world. |

I've stayed away from posting on this thread because I don't like to stir the pot, even when I don't like what's going on. Everyone is allowed to support causes as they see fit. However, this is just  and leads me to think the whole family may feel this entitled. Yes, a black man would be on the ground in cuffs...or worse. |

I find it completely disgusting that Liz is exploiting her children’s grief. Posting photos of them & sharing how they’re feeling is so wrong. Maybe they want to grieve in private. A mother should protect her children from exploitation, not splash their photos all over social media for her own selfish reasons. Liz & Collin are complete frauds. His big claim to fame (besides the douchey video of him arguing with a cop) was advocating keeping children away from social media. That is exactly the opposite of what they did for financial gain & what Liz continues to do.

I did not like that man at all. Every single thing Lizzy posted about him and every single video I've seen of him (ones he posted and the famous police one) showed that he was an incredible douche. I absolutely don't understand the "anti social media" thing he promoted while doing nothing else but exploiting social media. I just read the "Colin promise" pamphlet on Lizzy's Instagram stories and the cognitive dissonance is astounding.
I am always sorry when someone dies- it is a tragedy. But holding him up as a saint is doing no one any favors.
And she should get off social media before she permanently damages those children. Maybe it is too late.

I still feel so much sadness for her but yet complete outrage in her lack a awareness about what she is doing.  This is where I am at now. I am getting more and more disgusted by her behaviour on social media for all the reasons everyone else has already covered. But the pain of her husband passing away is still incredibly raw for her and the children and so I do still feel some sympathy for her. I think it's clear that her true colours are being shown at the moment, and I don't like what I see. I've not really supported them financially in the past - I think I've bought something from Dear Lizzy once or twice years ago - but from this point forward, I will intentionally choose not to support her lines with American Crafts in any way. No social media interaction, no money spent. |

Yesterday Lizzy and our own Becky Higgins were shilling "8 second hugs" for Collin.
How sad that some people have to be reminded to hug their loved ones and told how long to do it and told to do it to honor a stranger.
They're just weirder than weird to me.

I always chuckle when someone states they will block anyone that posts negative comments on one of their oversharing social media posts. Here’s a solution to avoid negative comments: Don’t post personal things on social media. Problem solved. You’re welcome! She sounds ridiculous. There is also something narcissistic about assuming people care enough to leave you negative comments. She has a lot of followers and I'm sure she has encountered negative comments in the past but I just cannot stand this type of person - something about it all is just so self involved. |

And Dear Lizzy sharing posts of people who are stepping away from social media or closing social media accounts while praising them and thanking them... on social media...that she is constantly using to post pictures and stories of her own minor children... minor children that her husband was so desperate to protect. The hypocrisy is just astonishing. |

From her words it was a pretty traumatic moment and I don’t blame her for not sharing it. Watching someone die is extremely traumatizing. That or he was texting and driving. How ironic would that be. |

I am in the camp of he was doing something 'unsavory' and it backfired. I feel like if it was something he couldn't control (like a pulmonary embolism, heart attack) she would share warning signs, etc that they might have missed or didn't recognize as warning signs.
