I’m watching Kamala speak. Ya’ll, would that be considered a pussy bow on her blouse? ETA: after making that observation to myself, I poked around online a bit. She wore a similar blouse to the ACB confirmation hearing. I like this lady. Honestly you’re the first person I’ve seen comment on her clothes. A cnn analyst earlier today congratulated our country for not talking about her clothes. She is MORE than the clothes she wears. So I dgaf what she was wearing. I was listening to her words and crying. Honestly, I noticed that she walked in like a fucking boss in a white pant suit. There nothing wrong with noticing that she wore something very specific and notable. Now, if that's all we were talking about, that would be a problem.

Amazing speeches by both of them. What a lovely feeling to wake up to and listen to a POTUS that spoke from the heart and meaning every word he said. So refreshing to listen to rather than the monotone of a toddler learning to read, we've all been listening to for the last 4 years.
Not a me,me.me in sight!
Wonderful to see his and Kamala's family join them with the warmth and love they so obviously share.
Who's baby was it he was holding so lovingly?

From the BBC live feed
All local paper journalists know that it's essential you cater to your audience.
Scotland's Ayrshire Daily News made sure of that when covering Donald Trump's loss to Joe Biden. The president owns the Trump Turnberry golf course in South Ayrshire.
"South Ayrshire Golf club owner loses 2020 presidential election" was the headline on the Daily's website.

Everything about Biden's speech was We, Our, and Us What a contrast from the "I" and "me" of the last 4 years. The more I see and hear of Joe Biden, the more convinced I am that the Democratic party picked just the right person for this election. I think there were several good candidates for this election, but as Covid appeared and other unfortunate consequences from Trump's choices kept arising, I thought that this guy is the right guy for what we need right now. Yes, he's old and white, but he is also such a good person who has experience, can bring together (for those that want to be brought together) a fractured nation, and can rely on scientists and facts to at least try to get us back on track. He needs to hire Pete for his hype man. That guy was on fire in every Fox interview I saw. I actually said Bazinga! now and then when he spoke. Pete was a great surrogate for the campaign, and if they are smart, they will give him a post. Like him or not, the guy has brains and is soooo quick on his feet.

Just had my first casualty on Facebook. This cousin that posted this has posted transphobic remarks in the past and I’ve tried to calmly talk to her to no avail. So today: fucking bye Felicia. http://instagr.am/p/CHTpWG7g91E I’m laughing bc whoever made this put Ohio on the blue side. I hate the sentiment, but as a Biden voting Ohioan, I’m ok with being on the blue side. Me too. I am beginning to doubt that my state will ever pull its head out of its hiney.

I am so proud to be an American. And I’m thankful for the peas who have posted mews articles these last 4 years to educate. Now that I have a clue, I’ll never go back on caring about the issues. I love this julie! Ask yourself, if you didn't have LGBTQ kids, would you still think as you thought before? If it wasn't personal, would you support Trump? Because we have to find a way to make people care about others' rights even when an issue doesn't affect them personally. And I find w/many GOP voters, it has to affect them personally before they can care.

They should have been doing that for the last four years. They could have fought the lunacy instead of propping it up and normalizing it. I hope they've learned their lesson.

I thought he was interesting during the primaries, but needed more experience. He's shown himself be a phenomenal campaigner for Biden/Harris. I'd be down right shocked if he isn't offered a position in the administration. I also could see Kamala tapping him in 4 years for VP.

It was nice to wake up this morning and not have the first thing on my mind as I read the news be what stupid thing has the Twitiot said now. I guess he's still in office, but he seems like a little less of a threat now that his days are numbered... 73 days to go!
Anyone else?

I know I would still care and would not support trump but without my kids I’m not sure I would be brave enough to stand up. Most of my reason for standing up for what’s right is my children. I can’t raise them in a world full of hate. It’s not just the lgbtq issues. It’s the poc and rich white men that bother me. J mi y husband was ok with the stays quo because he isn’t in a marginalized group and therefore, it doesn’t affect him so he doesn’t care. I really believe that I’m not like that. Trump is a monster and I don’t think I could ever Go back to being ok with that, marginalized or not. Eta my kids have certainly given me the courage to stand up and speak out. No matter how scary it is.

Such a cutie. So are Kamal's little girls. Those are her great nieces. Thanks for clarifying that. I have to admit I did think she was older( which she is) so wouldn't have children of that age and was going to go check but went on to do other things. They're very cute/

@zingermack I think the best phrase to describe me is I cared (before I had a child in a marginalized group) but just not enough to actually do anything about it. I hate saying that about myself but it’s true.

I know that some progressives don’t like him, but the man has skills. I’m glad that he is on our side.

I hate saying that about myself but it’s true. Well, you did something about it now, didn’t you? So stop judging yourself over what’s happened in the past. Whether your kids are your present motivation or not, your caring and engagement will likely expand as your awareness is heightened. That’s a perfectly normal evolution. It happens all the time. None of us is perfect; we all go through various phases of learning and improving. And the learning never stops.

The amount of *celebration* I drank may have had something to do with it also. 🍾🎉🎊😊 Happy Days Are Here Again.

I hate saying that about myself but it’s true. That is awesome self reflection, Julie. We need to work to find ways to reach people who may not be personally affected by policy but will still fight when it’s bad policy. Like people not having rights over their body or who they can marry.
