Since the scraps were still laying on my desk and there were a few more cut aparts to use, I went for it! I now have 25 handmade Christmas cards made for use in 2021! Wahoo! And really racked up so points because I used tons of patterns in the collection from Quick Quotes 2017 Holly Jolly.
Rather than create from scratch for a few ideas, I copied myself from when I was on their DT in this post. The cards are towards the bottom of the post.

I just realized that I haven't posted any LO's this month! I really only did 3, and already posted one. I've done two others, but they are for Feb challenges, so I can't post them yet! Here are the two I did. The first one, the dark blue painted look is a Vicki Boutin premade paper. I added the blue pinwheels with distress ink through a stencil. I then added a shimmer glaze to a few of the spots for a bit of sparkle and definition, and added some shimmer splatters. I love it! I can’t decide if I love this one. It’s a bit busy, but the blue sky helps break it up a bit. I tried a couple of different mats around the smaller photos, but didn't like them. It seems really simple, but took me over a hour, including fussy cutting the flowers. I just love that the enlarged photo shows off all of the awesome big horned sheep we saw in the Valley of fire. They were everywhere in this spot. There had to be at least 15-20 of them. I will be adding a second, more simple page with more photos, so hopefully that will ton this one down a bit.

My final layout for {Not} Just For Boys posted on the blog today. These photos are from 2011 and I can’t believe how tiny my boys were! Evan, my oldest, is now almost 15, 5’8”, and wears a 10.5 shoe! Oh, how time flies.

KikiPea, you did an awesome job with the VB background paper, adding more depth with the stenciled ink and the splatters. Love the page design, too, with that strip down the middle. Cute photo. Great idea to use the large photo for your background. And although you covered some of it up, you left the focal point you wanted. Two very different pages, but both really well done. Love your journaling about those busy years with those busy boys, and the photos say it all. Love the look on the little guy's face as he snuggles with big brother in the first photo. Great use of those papers. Wonderful classic design. azcrafty, your cards are always wonderful. Love the story behind the baby shark 50 card! And great masculine cards with those Old Fashioned icons and phrase diecuts. angel97701 I hope to get over o Flickr to look at your cards more closely there.

KikiPea, I love what you did on that blue background. The orange accents against the blues really pop. What a beautiful page. ~ That red background on your Valley of Fire page is amazing. I love the up close look of the big horned sheep. azcrafty, I can tell your DH loves your cards or he wouldn’t ask for specific ones. Love the “old-fashioneds”. Are those die cuts on the 50 card? The bubbles look die cut, but I can’t tell on the other elements. Beautiful card. craftymom101, your page is just perfect. It says exactly what I think often as I reminisce on the children now grown with children of their own. I miss the interaction with little ones. Beautiful photos and beautiful sentiment. grammadee, I don't know how you are keeping up this pace. I left love in the gallery. You are a scrapping machine! angel97701, I can't believe how many Christmas cards you were able to make from cut-aparts and scraps. They are beautiful cards.

nylene thank you. My DH loves my cards and he and his friends like bourbon and old-fashioned cocktail. The bubbles are stamped in white first, second and third generation. Came with heroarts my monthly kit , so did the corrals, seahorse and the dolphins. The yellow seaweeds, fishes and hat are die cuts- those come with the Stampin Up shark set.

wholarmor requested cards for her son on the NSBR page. I kind of wish I could have used my dragonfly stamp on the dragonfly shapes, but the shiny metallic paper wouldn't take my ink. What would you all do? Would some kind of StayzOn do the trick? Or heat embossing? I'll have to experiment.

Beautiful card, jjpeapea ! Stazon definitely will stick to the shiny pp. You just have to make sure the stamp doesn't slip when taking if off the slick surface. You can stamp a black outline with Stazon on acetate, colour with alcohol markers on the back, then diecut.
KikiPea, I am going to attempt a lift of that little boy page today. Wish me luck!

Love that soft stamped background jjpeapea, such a soft look with the woodgrain dragonflies. azcrafty - gorgeous cards, love the pp layers on the 'old fashioned' cards angel97701- those are AWESOME christmas cards, Love that you could use up scraps and get ahead. My faves are the ones with the diagonal stripes. It's a lot of work to come up with ways to use scraps in a pretty way like this! KikiPea - Always always love your clusters and textures. grammadee - love the truck cut apart paired with that photo - it's perfect. And the 2 pager - LOVE that design with the 2 photo blocks on either end! craftymom101 - wonderful layout, your clusters and layers and the bits behind the journaling strips - so good.

angel97701 - those are AWESOME christmas cards, Love that you could use up scraps and get ahead. My faves are the ones with the diagonal stripes. It's a lot of work to come up with ways to use scraps in a pretty way like this! I did a bunch of layouts that left 1/2" or 3/8" or what ever of a sheet of patterned paper all from the same collection. It was just a matter of inking edges, and laying across the card. The smaller lengths in the corners, longer in the middle. Then just trim from the back. Doing them all at once was super helpful.
The ones that have a larger panel on the front, only the outer sheets actually are the width or height of the card, the middle pieces are cut and lined up to maximize the use of all the pretty patterns I had left over.

Here is my lift, KikiPea . I chose to use foiling for my stenciled elements. While it was drying, I started from the photo and worked DOWN, adding bits and pieces that I have scattered all over here from this past month's crafting. Consequently, mine is quite a bit busier than yours, but I like it! Christmas morning chat by Gramma Dee, on Flickr My dgs did not get to see his dad in person this holiday season at all--in fact, has not seen him since the end of April--b/c his dad is deployed until this upcoming May. But most mornings he gets to video chat with Dad. It was bitter sweet--I think for both of them--for him to share his excitement about Santa having come and filled his stocking. There were other times during the day that Daddy called as well. Some times you just gotta love electronics!
POINTS: one page created & shared (2). R-3 one photo shared for Donna challenge (1), P-3 thickers (1), P-4 four patterns (4), P-5 glitter heart (1), P-8 six scraps (2), P-10 four stickers (4), S/I-1 eighteen stenciled snowflakes and one star (19), S/I-2 tag & label (2), S/I-3 Christmas theme (1), CM-1 blues (1), T-1 torn edge (1), T-3 diecuts (4), Th-4 Christmas theme (1), N/S-1 layers (1), O-3 background booie (5). I forgot to share a card the other day, for my friend who just had a cancerous polyp removed (get your colonoscopies, folks! It sounds like she was very lucky they found this thing so early.) She's a crazy cat lady so I think she'll enjoy this. Jan share by jo.blackford, on Flickr These are cards for the 12 card Christmas challenge. I ended up making a few extra. I was trying my new sentiment die cut with some different papers, and attempting to dry emboss a frame using a metal die without buying an embossing pad (the white card). I used 3 layers of fun foam to make my own embossing pad. Jan share by jo.blackford, on Flickr And I did 12 Sheetload cards. The front panel has an inch cut off the right side so that it reveals a strip of paper stuck inside the card, with the sentiment overhanging. I simplified the design slightly to use what I had, a 6x8 paper pad from Pink Paislee Together for Christmas. Jan share by jo.blackford, on Flickr

Oh, how time flies. I imagine it's fun to revisit their little years when they're being teenagers... I like how you captured routines and everyday life, looking back, and the "adventure awaits" piece is perfect. All your little layers and details are delightful, especially the little feather piece. And wow, your photos are really good for being older - bright and clear! No stupid IG filters.

And now you're ahead of the game with lots of great handmade cards in lovely traditional colors.

angel97701 such lovely cards. From scraps, wow! A great example of making gorgeous cards from scraps. KikiPea your Deep in Thought layout is so special. I'm not surprised grammadee wanted to scraplift it, and I hope to do that as well. At first I thought you picked a super busy background paper for your Fire State Park layout, but then I realized it was your very own memories and I thought that's a great idea. I agree, the blue skies do define your other photos. azcrafty awww when the husband asks for cards. That's only happened to me on a few rare occasions. craftymom101 they're sooooo cute! And your page and story really captures the memory of the cuteness. My kids' baby pictures are film prints, not digital. Maybe it's time to scan and scrap. grammadee , Cute cards. And I love how you mirrored the Sketchy Saturday page for a 2 page layout. It really works. But I have even more love for your scraplift of KiKiPea's page. I found her page especially special as well. How did you do the background? The last time I used watercolor on scrapbook paper it got a little bendy. I am hoping to scraplift that one someday soon. Hopefully it will fit into one of the 28-4-28 challenges. schroema that Misc layout was a great way to catch a lot of little fun things without devoting a whole page. Sweet. AussieMeg , the cool (and inspired) colors. The beach scenes. I feel like I've had a little virtual vacation. Beautiful.
