Slowly would be the answer to that lainey , but I'm doing a bit each day. I am doing magic loop - thanks sueg ! - which is taking a bit of getting used to and yesterday while sliding the stitches along I accidentally pulled all the stitches off one side but it's all good now Also just doing a quick beanie for Dh with some wool from my Mum's collection which I've inherited That blanket looks so complicated!! It does take a bit of getting used to, it took me ages to work out. I tried so many times before it clicked.

I'm doing it but I'm slow and I can't take my eyes off it (partly because I haven't worked with anything other than super chunky yarn for ages and it just feels so fiddly) so it's not something I sit and do in the evening yet What colours will you do for your new blanket?

I just have to say, I'm getting quite impatient waiting for my Jimmy Beans monthly shawl club. They stated they were going to bill the week of the 25th and ship. I got so excited yesterday thinking they would finally bill and ship and it didn't happen. Here's hoping it happens today. I'm just so curious to get my package. I had ordered in December and I had originally hoped they would send the first month at the end of December so it would be here for January, but no such luck. So this was another bummer. I'm sitting here on pins and needles. I'm so ready.

I have signed up for two pattern clubs - one is a colourwork club, with 3 patterns for different accessories and the other is a sock club with 6 patterns. The first pattern for each is due in the first week of February, which does give me time to finish my current projects, but I am still impatient.

Is it a surprise for you too? If so, you'll have to post here once you receive your project. So we can all ooh and ahh over what you get! It's funny because the shawl club was two different color ways. And there were pictures of the knit and crochet projects in both colorways. So I don't know which I will get. And then there is a shawl closure included in every month's shipment. I'm curious to see those, as well. I love surprises. But I'm the worst about waiting for a surprise.

Mine are both pattern only clubs - the colourwork I could have bought with yarn kits first, but I procrastinated too long, and missed out. It didn't help that I couldn't decide between 2 of the 3 themes! This way, I can mix and match or co-ordinate my pieces. The sock club didn't have a yarn option, but they 'reveal' the yarn/colour the original was made in a few weeks in advance of each pattern release. With the amount of sock yarn I own, I don't think I'll have a problem finding something suitable for each one.

I'm going to use the leftovers from the Aria blanket and just pick them out randomly. I want to use them all up as they're starting to bug me.

Last year’s club had a cowl, a hat and a pair of mittens.

Just a quick pop in to see what everyone is up to. I ordered some lovely yarn and fabrics for several new projects and the day after delivery I ended up in hospital for the last 6 days. Will have to coax the mojo back along with the energy levels. Good to be back though.

Well, I consider myself quite an experienced crocheter but I can't make heads or tails of the stabby granny pattern! I've wrestled with it all afternoon and have nothing to show for it. I'll try again tomorrow with fresh eyes.

Sometimes just going to bed and letting something marinate in my brain overnight helps make it easier

I hope it clicks lainey. It looks a great pattern. I picked up the bat shawl last week and am now about 3/4 through. I hope to finish by the end of next week, if not sooner. I am loving it. The colours make my heart sing and it looks like there will be a fair bit of yarn over so I’ll get to make something else with it.

I am hating the snowflakes section of my Christmas blanket. It is requiring entirely too much concentration for me. It's kind of making me nuts because I was cruising along with the blanket until this section and now I'm not wanting to work on it. I have about 12 more rows in this section to complete it. I'm thinking of doing something like work one row, take a break and do something else kind of thing until I make it through this section. What do you guys do when you get to a part of a project that you aren't enjoying anymore?
