jeremysgirl that is just beautiful I love everything about it.
I had to give up on the stabby granny, my husband reminded me (after I threw my hook and my third attempt at it across the room) that knitting (bless him!) was something I did for enjoyment not aggravation!

I agree with DH. If it's not bringing you joy then let go. I know it's so hard when we are right in middle of something but at the beginning I have no problem saying no

There are three more sections of the Christmas blanket and I think I'm going to change up the order. It's supposed to be trees, gingerbread men, then gifts. And I think I'm going to do gifts, gingerbread men, and then the trees. To book end the blanket with trees

jeremysgirl Definitely book end with the trees. Please. I know it isn't for me 😥, but it will make me twitchy if you don't do that now that I know. 😊

Those snowflakes look like a beast to do!

The shawl is a 12 month project and they just send you a little bit each month. Jeremy was cracking all the jokes at me about how much I spent vs. How much time went into it. I was like, hey it's expensive yarn.

It's the very last day of January. Did you accomplish all that you wanted to this month? Today is the first day of the 100 day project. I dug out my happy trees to see what I have done and where I need to start for the 100 day project. Here's what I've got.

It's the very last day of January. Did you accomplish all that you wanted to this month? Sadly no but February is another month. I hoped I’d finish the adventurous Queen as well as the Bat but lockdown means I’ve had to furlough staff and I’m working some of their hours in addition to mine. Then the kittens want snuggling before their bedtime. Some evenings I’m just too tired to pick up my work but the Bat will be finished in a few days and I need to decide if I will continue with the Queen right now or start the Montana which is calling to me. The yarn has been here for a month and I told myself not to look as I’d want to use it straight away. I looked at it last week. I had to, didn’t I, to check it was ok. *nodding*

Haha! gillyp yes must make sure the yarn is a-ok. I'm sorry you've been forced to work harder at work. That stinks for sure. And I get it. It's hard for me to craft in the evenings too.

Did you accomplish all that you wanted to this month? Not really. I had hoped to finish the two pairs of socks I started but somehow managed to start another pair! I finished one pair and have one each of the other pairs finished. I've also been suffering with ocular migraines quite a bit this month which have slowed me down with everything, some days I've barely functioned

That would slow anybody down.

It's the very last day of January. Did you accomplish all that you wanted to this month Not really. I had two sweater planned for myself, and neither has been cast on yet. I did finish a cardigan for Sophia, which just needs to be sewn together, and started some socks I hadn't planned on making. But even the socks hit a snag - I had knit 40 rows of the leg when I found a knot in the yarn, and the colour pattern of the yarn was interrupted, so I ripped them out and started over. Hopefully, I have enough left to make both socks, but if I have to add in yarn on the foot of the second sock, at least the change in pattern won't be so obvious.

Did you accomplish all that you wanted to this month? I didn't set myself any targets as I'm only just really getting back into my knitting But I did finish a long overdue blanket for my grandson, made Dh a quick beanie and started a pair of socks. I'm also investigating crochet and considering a throw for our bed. lainey I'm sorry to hear about your migraines Are they relatively new for you?

Are they relatively new for you? I've had them for a few years but very infrequently, like one a year maybe. This month I had one every day for a week, the migraines themselves are pretty short lived but the migraine hangovers are a bitch.

Ugh yes I have had a few migraines over the years and as you say, the drained feeling afterwards is horrible. Hope you feel better soon.

Tired for at least the next day plus every joint in my body hurts and I am completely useless. Don’t want to eat. It sucks.

I have NOT accomplished what I wanted to and that’s ok. Finished up a few projects hanging out that needed done and mailed off- paying projects take precedence over for me projects. Made a deal with my favorite cookie dealer to trade a box of cookies for an ornament. Need to get that done. I have the paint just not all put together yet. My fabrics are all here washed and pressed and tagged for the temp quilt. I started running strips thru my cutter yesterday. Going to cut a month worth at a time to keep from having fabrics all over the place. My almost 5 year old wanted to do a 1000 piece lego puzzle with me and then walked away. Sooo I’m finishing the puzzle myself today.

sueg I hate when you have a knot in the yarn. I want to ask the manufacturers if they really think we don't notice or care. Seriously what are they thinking?

This was supposed to be my January crafting. A knitted jacket in Moss stitch, Koi fabric for cushion covers for DS. Mohair fabric for stash because it is lovely. fabric for Luna clothes and a lovely applique Linen bag for storing toy clothes in. Thanks to the spell in Hospital and the total loss of energy the only thing I have done is stroked the Mohair fabric and sighed a lot. It will all still be there when the mojo comes back though.

So my other craft is Legos! I build with my son, it's one of his favorite things to do especially the Technic kits.

Just read an article on the BBC website about a recent textile discovery in Israel. The textile has a rare purple dye that is said to have been more costly than gold and was associated with royalty. Carbon-dating has placed the textile at about 1,000 BC, around the time that King David was said to have reigned. Fascinating to think a bit of textile has survived that long. Israeli archaeologists find 'Biblical royal purple dye'

Yay! Done with the snowflakes! Wow that really is gorgeous. I really like the color of yarn you got in your shawl kit. The shawl pin is nice to. Can’t wait to see the finished product.
