This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge.

kitbop, I just checked out the end of the Dec Pokey thread. Congrats on getting the Covid vaccine. The last dose at the last day of the worse year in history. That is something you can tell your grandchildren. Definitely it needs to be scrapped. I'm so glad you were able to get it.

msliz, wish I could join you, but that is wedding day (they love the date 1-2-21) for DGD. I might be in the house part of that time. I'll drop in if I am.

Happy New Year, Pokeys! nylene you must be super excited to attend the WEDDING!!! What a wonderful way to start the year! And I love that they love the way the date is written. Congrats on getting the vaccine, kitbop! Hoping it will start rolling out more quickly now that the Moderna one is here. Hoping your house prep and move is going smoothly, Linda. that house looks really inviting. Is all that green space yours? Will want to see more pictures for sure. I just finished a page I had started this morning--the December page of NEXT year's family calendar. Hoping I can pop in for at least a bit for the on line session, msliz. Will it be on Google Meet? justjac and I had trouble with Hangouts over the holiday. Need to go through the pic's I have printed and see if there are some I can scrap with the Christmas supplies I have out. Or need to select a few pic's I can print at home. Took me a few tries this morning.

TFS the pic's, Linda . I love the rich look of that wood! And is that a double wide range or did their camera angle/editing stretch it? My ddil's sister has a double width range with two ovens, a built in grill, and lots of cook top. Had never seen one before i saw hers.

Will it be on Google Meet? justjac and I had trouble with Hangouts over the holiday. I have no idea. I'm hoping Hangouts works. The one time I accidently opened Meet, I had to admit each person individually. I haven't hosted a crop in months. I guess we'll find out how it goes tomorrow ...

msliz, I think they are phasing out hangouts. The past two times we've used it for family calls, we ended up using Meet. And it is a pain to have to let each person in. But once they've been let in once, if they get dropped or leave for some reason, they can get back in without being admitted. I swear Google reminds me more and more of Provo Craft and the way they handle the cricuts lol. Dumping stuff that makes no sense to me. Linda I love the house! That kitchen is so nice! I love all the wood and the open floor plan. I have a galley kitchen, which I hate. I've never like galley kitchens lol. But I like my landlord so I'll put up with the kitchen lol. nylene I love that date too, so cool! Can't wait to hear all about the wedding! I spent 8 hours cropping today with my mom and niece. (which is why I set that challenge lol) so at least I have points on the board for day one! lol. I got my planner set up, and a layout partially finished. We did more talking than crafting, for sure.

Thank you joyfulnana - I'm SO excited about the kitchen - so much counter space, so many cabinets and drawers. It's actually smaller than my current kitchen - but the layout is terrible in the current one - very little storage or counter space. The house isn't open plan other than the kitchen/breakfast nook -we really wanted individual rooms and walls . We did take down some doors though that we knew would always stay open (we'll store them in case we change our minds). How fun spending time cropping. I spent my day organising

Happy Saturday! I am still nursing my injured left arm and it is starting to feel a little better. I hurt is a few months ago doing some exercise with my bar bells. It was sore and them it never qot better and them I reinjured it. Dr. said it might be about two weeks before I can expect it to heal. Still got a ways to go for full mobility. So ice and advil, Baby! LOL! We got out to our local beach area today and what a beautiful sunset! Great away to start the new year. linda- What a beautiful looking house! Congrats again and I hope you enjoy your new home immensely! grammadee- I sent you another card today. I really wanted you to have one so I hope this one doesn't get lost. Let me know if any of my cards show up. You might be lucky and end up with two! LOL!

gramma - yes! This is the future craft space - the plan is for my scrapbooking stuff, sewing stuff, genealogy stuff, and scrapbook albums as well as the memorabilia and photos I inherited from mum to all be in the room. I'm planning to get one, maybe two (I need to measure) 5x5 cube units for that long wall. And my Fisher Price Little People collection will hopefully come out of storage and be displayed on the top. kellyr21 - thank you. I hope your arm feels better soon Spent the afternoon out at the house - started painting the two new doors - DH picked safety red because it looks like Lego red (one of the doors goes from the garage into his hobby room).

kellyr21 I hope you heal up soon! I'm really envious of you living so close to the beach. Watching sunsets like that is IDK, there aren't words for how gorgeous it is. I haven't been following the NFL too closely are the Rams in the playoffs this year? Play off time is when I really watch the games. It's been such a weird season I haven't kept up. gramma - We missed you yesterday - I saw in the crop thread you have lots of sarcasm to let loose - I even mentioned I missed that lol. kitbop we missed you too, and I wondered if you were working this weekend. That sucks to had to work the holiday weekend. How is your shoulder doing? Oh Linda I really love your house! I can't wait to see what you do with your craft room. Fisher Price Little People? Oh man those were some of my favorite toys when I was a kid! What did the DD's think of the new place? I seem to remember seeing on a thread somewhere that they hadn't seen the house before closing. I'm going to spend today running errands now that the roads are clear and the sun with actually be out today. We got a snowstorm for January 1. I haven't left here all weekend. Spent it scrapping so far and not getting many pages done lol. 8 hours with my mom and niece and we spent more time laughing at what google hears in the closed captions than anything. It was fun. My printer is out of black ink and I want to finish printing the prompt pages for my OLW album. Also I believe Abby needs a cat tree. She's really getting settled and feeling safe. She's playing a lot more and chasing the laser and also climbing and jumping more.....hence the cat tree lol. Then get stuff ready to go back to work. Have a great day! nylene I can't wait to hear about the wedding!

gramma - I'm super excited - currently I have a corner of the family room joyfulnana - The little people were my favourites as a kid also and when my kids were small, I collected the vintage sets for them asnd it turned into a collection for me once they outgrew them. If grandchildren ever come along, they'll get to play with them too. DD14 is super excited - she was helping paint the doors yesterday. DD20 is more low-key but she's only planning to live there for a year as she's planning to move in with her brother next Christmas Snowstorms - glad you had a good scrappy/chatty weekend. Hopefully Abby likes the cat tree - mine don't care for it. On the other hand, we did a puzzle over Christmas and it's still on the table...I keep finding one of the elder kitties (he's about 16) on the puzzle.

Good Sunday morning, Pokeys. It was good to see some of you yesterday on the Meet. Missed you, too, gramma . I needed a little healthy snark! Linda, that craftroom looks wonderful. Can't wait to see a pic of it with all the crafty supplies and tools plus the parade of FP little people. I don't have a "collection", but I do have an ice cream pail full of those little guys down in the basement with the school, Sesame Street building, a fire house, a village, and a few other play buildings. The kids loved FP and the grandkids have too. Sometimes they haul the whole lot up here to the living room and have rollicking adventures with the airplane and the schoolbus and... joyfulnana , I hope you drive carefully after that snowstorm. People--OTHER people--tend to forget how to drive between storms sometimes. nylene , I can't wait to hear all about the wedding! kellyr21 I hope your arm is beginning to feel better. Give it lots of TLC for awhile. I find it is best to rest a joint almost completely for a day or two, then, after a session with a heating pad or bag, start PT s-l-o-w-l-y. As in move at slow speed through small movements for a short number of times. Then each time you can increase the speed and range and numbers of reps. Don't know why I am telling you this, when kitbop is the expert at treating these injuries. Just telling you what works for me. Giving the challenge to freeze until 50 a try (create 50 pages before buying new supplies). I finished two pages in two days this month, and am hoping for a third one today. Also have some cards to make, but I don't think those count for the challenge--will have to go back and check. Okay, off to refill my coffee cup and then figure out how to print the next pic I need...

Checking in on the pokeys! Insanely glad to be done an insanely busy hospital weekend. Just had a lovely prime rib dinner - it was supposed to be for Jan.1, but I was just too tired after work. kellyr21 , it's so easy to reinjure things just as they are getting better! I'm sorry you've had a set back - although usually a set back is just 1 step back, not 20 steps back - advil and ice are exactly the prescription. Being a PT is hard. How to explain to people to move the affected place enough but not too much? Like you said grammadee , go slow, see how it reacts, and try for more next time! Linda - I'm so jealous you can't imagine! Even if one of the kids moves out, it only means the kid in the basement gets to move upstairs I'm gonna be scrapbooking in the basement for a while, because there is no way to move here in our city. Our house has quintupled in price since we bought it 20 years ago, but that means bigger houses have too... joyfulnana - a cat tree is a great idea. My cats would love one but we have no space. Glad she is settling in. We re-homed my Dad's cat about 5 months ago, and honestly it took at least 2 months for him to get comfy in his new home. Now, he and his new owner are a VERY happy pair (poor cat was completely neglected at my Dad's. He was probably a bit neurotic when she took him in). cat sweater by kirstendrew, on Flickr grammadee - I'm cheating a bit on the 50 freeze - working on my DD album so the "pages" are a lot smaller and simpler But I needed the push to work on them, and this motivates me. Fair is fair. Looking forward to a couple of days at home, although de-Christmas-ing the house is a priority and I have to get my Dad's tree down too. I'm also going to make myself do at least 1 hour/day of photo editting, and take 1 batch of photos to costco!!!

grammadee - it might take me a while to get it up and running but I'll post photos once it is. I think some people were counting cards 5 cards=1 layout for the 50 challenge. Up to you, I think. kitbop - sorry work is so insanely busy - I hope things improve soon. Prime Rib dinner sounds delicious! As to the house - we were in apartments and then a small mobile home for 9 years and then the current mobile home for 12 years now. I briefly had a craft room in this one after our roommate moved out but only for about 6 months and then we split up the girls (they had been sharing) and older DD got that room. I had had hopes when DS moved out and older DD switched rooms into his...but my MIL moved in and somehow it ended up DH's hobby/storage space after that, not mine. I almost didn't get the craft room in the new house - it was assigned to me and then DH posited that we might need to use it as a library...I measured here and measured there and measured everywhere and convinced him we could put the bookcases in the guest room. I do hope that you get your craft room one day - I'm sorry moving isn't in the cards. ((((Hugs)))

Good Monday morning, Pokeys! It is sunny here, and it was not exceedingly cold when I went to put the dogs out, but I don't plan to be outside much the rest of the day. I have been putting together a page a day, working toward my goal of 50 before I buy anything new. Full disclosure, I am expecting a couple of orders placed before Christmas, so I WILL have some new toys... And I still have Christmas gifts to play with. I am printing some photos from my phone, but I really miss having a big envelope of pic's to choose from. On line schooling starts today, and dgs wanted to facetime me while he worked on his printing. Focus is a big issue with him, and I had to smile when he was zoned in on his paper but still had to sneak a quick glance at the phone to see if I was still watching him. But he went right back to work and finished the page. I did a screen shot, so I may post that in the Photos challenge. Hoping you are all well and happy. kitbop, enjoy your day off. Hope you get to do what you need to do to recharge your batteries. Our de-Christmasing won't start for another ten days. And I hope work doesn't hit you with a bang, joyfulnana. Looking forward to seeing wedding pic's, nylene. Good luck packing and preparing to move, Linda. I am not looking forward to our next move when it has to happen. We have been in this big farm house since we built it 1986-87. Four bedrooms and two baths upstairs that I can ignore most of the time when the kids aren't here. Large main floor with everything we need to live most of the time. Full basement to store anything we don't want and need at the time, plus freezer and cold storage for food. two car garage. Lots of room for my crafting and dh's puttering. I know we don't need all this space, but it is paid for and anything we do end up moving to will be much smaller than this house's 1800 square foot main floor. So... hoping to put off moving until the last possible moment...

grammadee - you're doing fabulous on the 50 layout goal! How cute that your grandson wanted to facetime you. Homeschooling is going sloooowwwwly today but it's going and I'm working on pulling down Christmas - usually we wait until the 6th but... Yeah - moving will be a process here - this house is packed to the gills plus there's a big shed and a small shed with tools. I'm downsizing as I pack but DH says he'll worry about that once we're moved in (which I fear may mean never - pretty sure he has boxes still from the last move) BUT my plan is to put all of his boxes into his big bonus space and shut the door.

Happy Monday! Today my arm is a little better and I thank you grammadee and kitbop for your advise. I have a little more ability but still going slow. I am able to comb my hair now but can't put it into a rubber band yet. Sleeping has been tough just trying not to move it to quick or pull with it. But trying to be patience even though I am a little frustrated. nylene- How was the wedding? joyfulnana- I haven't been really watching the games either. I saw some of the games yesterday. I think my Rams are out but not sure. I saw your Chiefs are doing well. I am cheering for them, too. linda- So happy for you and your family! Enjoy the move. You all are gonna have a great time in this new home. kitbop- I hope you get some rest in-between your busy work schedule. Hang in there!

Sorry to be absent. I woke up the morning of the wedding feeling like someone had shoved a spike through my jaw. Of course it was weekend, my Dentist doesn't do root canals and all the Endodontists were off for Christmas break. I made it through the wedding on lots of aspirin. It was really nice except for the tooth pain. I got an appt and had the root canal on Monday, but it stirred up my autoimmune issue which affects my mouth. It is very swollen and feels like I have had a mouth full of boiling soup that has burned my entire mouth. The swelling has gone down some today, but I know I will go through this all again on Thurs when they put a crown on the tooth. No fun.
I have had lots of sleep this week and have slept through all the craziness going on in our country. What a fiasco!
I will come back to chat later. I'm sorry I have missed out on the all excitement here of starting new Team challenges. I will be back!

Oh, nylene. ((((HUGS))) and heartfelt wishes to lessen both the pain and its duration as you get that tooth repaired. Not good any time, but especially frustrating when you had the opportunity for some family time at the wedding. Sleep well. Heal quickly.

Happy Friday! Hope you all are doing well! My arm is coming along. Still sore and stiff but I am trying to moving it a little daily. Thanks again for your advice kitbop and grammadee. I am working on some new videos but since my arm is limited I am gonna try a Zoom format with not set up required. Also, my fil gave me another camera for filming and I am so excited to try it out. It is an upgrade from my current one. So sweet! nylene- Oh, I was hoping you were ok. Hang in there and take it easy. WE have been holding the fort down this week. Glad the wedding turned out great. I can't wait to see pictures. grammadee- What great pages you have made. I worked on a new one yesterday and hope to do a few more next week.

great layouts grammadee(((Hugs))) and prayers nylene - tooth/mouth pain is horrible. I'm glad that the wedding was lovely despite the pain. I hope all will be better soon. kellyr21 (((hugs))) and prayers for you as well. Hope the arm heals quickly moving seems to be a one step forward two steps backward process. We've painted the doors, just need to hang them. Had the plumber in -he should get the estimate to us over the weekend and will hopefully start work Tues or Wed. Electrician was in today - we should get his estimate middle of next week and then will be able to schedule the work but he's scheduling about 2 weeks out. Still need to pull up the carpet in two rooms and get an estimate on flooring. Hoping all that will be done by the end of the month. We had to replace the battery in one car and the other one won't start at all so we'll have to tow it in for repairs. And our oldest kitty is having trouble walking so vet visit is needed for him - he's 18 so it might end up being his final vet visit. Hopefully not but...
