I'm pea living today over a similar situation. A 'friend' just bragged on fb that she's getting the vaccine this week. She's in her early 40's , works from home and has no major health issues. She happens to work for a healthcare system ( but is home based and hasn't been to an office in well over a year) I responded that it isn't right that she's taking it when there are countless nursing home and elderly people in general along with high risk people that are waiting in line to get it.
I knew she was selfish, but this proves my point. the girl barely leaves her house.

Well I posted earlier that I had been offered a shot through DHs work because so many chose not to get it. Called to confirm my appointment today and it seems many are getting them this week so they aren’t sure if there will be extras or not.
Kinda bummed as I wanted the shot because I’m terrified about the blood clots but it’s not in the cards this week. Back home I go to wait. I qualify under 1b (prexisting condition) but will wait.

I agree the distribution of the shots has been a shit show, but if she is offered one through her employer perhaps it is best to take it now as that is how the distribution has been set up, and the limited shelf life (fridge life?) of the shot. Her refusing it at this point is not going to get it to an elderly person in a nursing home.
