So proud of the people of Georgia who turned out for this historic vote! I still can't believe this is happening. We here in Kentucky couldn't get rid of Mitch, but Georgia gave the assist and demoted his smug ass.

So is it done? Are we there yet? Michael Gold 13m ago Gabriel Sterling, a top Georgia elections official, said on CNN that Ossoff would likely end up keeping his lead but it was unclear whether it would be narrow enough for a recount.

I have to say I'm really surprised by this outcome. I had not even followed these races that closely since runoffs almost always favor Republicans due to in person turnout. An amazing job by Stacey Abrams and whoever else is leading the get-out-the-vote effort in Georgia. The biggest win for me is the possibility of McConnell being relieved of his duties as Majority Leader. That's almost as good as getting rid of Trump. Not everything the House sends to the Senate should be approved but it should at least be considered. McConnell has made the personal decision to kill most of the legislation sent to him, abusing his extraordinary power. It's as good as or possibly better, in the long run, as losing trump, imo. trump never really actively worked at his job. Mitch does. He is more purposefully evil in intent and actions. And he gets things done, or rather prevents them from being done. http://instagram.com/p/CJtQKCmghTx

I’m really proud of Stacey Abrams and Latosha Brown. A Georgia win wouldn’t have been possible without their hard work and dedication. Now to see what Joe Biden will do with the next 4 years. Hopefully he remembers who is responsible for the position he finds himself in. I am proud of them too. You said black women would be the key to shaping our future and you were right. Kudos!

So is it done? Are we there yet? Close but not done yet. Ossoff is gaining and well ahead.. 65,000 ballots still outstanding, athough from heavy democratic counties. Up to 17,000 military ballots to be counted by Friday.

Your tweet isn’t showing up for me so I’m quoting you to view it. Eta: That didn’t work. So what did I miss? @davidcorndc Here’s a possibility. One Dem wins in Georgia. Senate Rs have a 51-49 margin. But @mittromney declares himself an independent & caucuses with the Ds, demanding they back him as Sen. Majority Leader. Bam! Mitt’s in charge. (Any other R could try this.) Watch out, Mitch. 7:01 PM · Jan 5, 2021

Proud of Georgia. Stacey Abrams the bestest!
Also thanks to everyone from around the country who donated, whether $5 or more, much more!
EVERY DOLLAR COUNTED!
I also believe that both Warnock and Ossoff benefitted with much of the joint funding, which also allowed dual campaign ads. The dollars went farther!
Remember Warnock needs to do this again in 2 years. Let us not forget him!!

Now I need to look up Latosha Brown. Thanks for bringing her to my attention Olan. My friends and I in Cali sent $ and collectively wrote thousands of postcards to Georgians in Nov/Dec. I'm holding my breath until John Ossoff is officially declared the winner.

Oh man, this brings me back. Congratulations, Georgia. I was hoping for one seat to turn, but two? This is like a thousand Christmases. The Democratic party is in massive debt to Stacey Abrams. I don't know what she's going to do next, but her future is bright. Also a testament to an unsuppressed ballot box. Black people got their voices heard - and it's about time. I keep thinking about the Mississippi Three who were murdered for registering black people to vote. This is what they died for. This is exactly what White Supremacists fear. Their time is coming to an end, and if the last four years are an indication, they won't go quietly. Today is a celebration, though. Good work!

I'm very happy and proud to have a large circle of friends who have worked very hard for progressive and other Dem candidates nationwide. My friend Carolyn bought 17 THOUSAND postcards for the Reclaim Our Vote campaign and found local friends in our area (with about 130K people) to write address and send them for the GOTV effort for the Nov 5 election. We had about 3 months to do those. Then, when we knew about the runoff elections, she purchased 14K more cards and we found people to complete them in 3 weeks. It was gratifying work to be able to do something which seemed it could make a difference. So glad we're seeing that it did, in fact, help. I'm very grateful to everyone who wrote, texted, called and knocked on doors like you did! I am grateful that there are many ways to help on a national level no matter where we live!

Stacey Abrams just posted this on FB:
So many hands built this victory, but I must single out the indefatigable, ingenious team at Fair Fight Action, led by the powerhouse that is Lauren Groh-Wargo. From mobilizing voters to defending the franchise to moving the needle on what’s possible - this team is mighty! Thank you all.
