oliquig I am not happy that someone died, but it does make a different to me if she was there to cause trouble or if she was someone that was at the Capitol for another reason. I have been at work and heard that someone was shot, but didn't know the details, which is why I asked. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to sound so accusatory. |

Reports are coming out that this was a well orchestrated plan and put in place weeks ago when Trump had that proud boy leader Enrico at the WH.
Speculation is that several of the senators in the inner circle and some Capital police officers knew it was coming and were told to stand down.
They came with zip ties, cuffs, guns, and bags to put the votes in. They wanted the house chamber because that's where the votes were. They knew EXACTLY WHERE PELOSI'S OFFICE WAS.
I'm so not surprised if this turns out to be true. It has Erik Prince written all over it and explains why Barr resigned.
I wouldn't put it past Trump.

I guess I'm surprised anyone is surprised by this. It's been coming for weeks, and fomenting for months and months before that. Practically from the moment he was elected he's been riling up his base and dividing people and building this campaign of resentment. You can't just gently extinguish that kind of smoldering anger, and of course, he wouldn't want to - of course he would want to go out in a blaze of chaos. Any PR is good PR in his book, the man who is like Teflon. That it would turn into this circus of pandemonium and craziness, OF COURSE IT WOULD. It's not over. There's more to come, and the inauguration day should be nice and crazy too. The rats are jumping ship now trying to distance and save themselves, and now some of them are scared. But I finally feel like we shouldn't be anymore. The adults have arrived on the scene and order will slowly be restored. There's going to be some ugliness and that's to be expected, nothing can be done about that. The coup isn't going to work, this is all sound and fury signifying nothing. It's over, except for the floor show. Shenanigans only delay the inevitable.
When he gave that ridiculous speech today on Twitter and looked so smug and high on his own supply he reminded me of "Are you not entertained!?!"

I haven't read all the posts yet - will go back and do that, but I wanted to say that just before I went to bed last night (our time) I checked the Georgia results and breathed a sigh of relief thinking the Trump nightmare would soon be over...then I get up today & do my usual morning things before I log on and read the news...and OMG, all hell broke loose overnight.
I'm shocked and saddened that this happened. Yes, I'll admit to be shocked that storming the capitol in the USA in 2021 could happen.
One news report I listened to here said that "democracy in America has been humiliated"
Trump needs to be immediately removed and silenced.

Since Pence was the one who called in the National Guard, it appears DoD might not take orders from Trump now - Pence should not technically have done that as he is not in that chain of command, which makes everyone all aflutter that the 25th could already be underway.....or DC has said said, fuck it (pardon me) and they've thrown convention out the window. I mean who cares about any of that right now, who's going to say something about it, the confederate flag was flown today in the Capitol. It's crazytown.
I don't think we need to worry about the nukes and Trumpybear. Cooler heads are prevailing.
