She broke a window and was crawling through it. I'd have shot her too. On Good Morning America this morning, the idiot republican congressman who was on, said he was behind the man who shot the terrorist. He said the cop/secret service person had no choice but to shoot. There were congress men and women behind that door, which had been breached, who had to be protected. I have to believe the man who shot her was just upholding his oath to protect our elected leaders. There were also police behind the terrorists who didn't seem to be de-escalating the situation. Here is video of it. DO NOT CLICK ON IT IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO SEE HER BEING SHOT.OMG. There are officers literally right next to her letting her break through the doors! What the heck? If this isn’t the biggest proof for BLM I don’t know what else could be. The officers just watched the protestors breaking into the room where our elected officials were. The secret service guy had no choice. The guys that were supposed to be on his side weren’t doing their job. The protesters probably felt emboldened since the police were letting them do it. |

Good. I agree 100%. I hope they follow through on this. These are the consequences for her actions. What about the other 3? The other three who died? They were medical emergencies - one had a heart attack, one accidentally tased himself and I haven't heard reports of the third but it was reported that they were all medical issues. I heard the other one fell off scaffolding. That was actually the only one I heard about besides her that was semi confirmed. |

My own parents and some others I know on social media have been parroting these same excuses. They seem to believe anything Trump or his supporters tells them. My mother has been going on about Creepy Joe and how awful he is. She says Trump was robbed of the election. She said she heard all about it on Fox News and Newsmax. SMH Creepy Joe? That makes no sense! Trump is the creepy one (as are 3 of his kids and his son-in-law). So sorry that you have to listen to that. |

eta: somewhere on CNN, I watched a video of someone interviewing a couple of the rioters... middle-aged ladies. The woman said something to the effect of 'we're gonna go in there, grab them (meaning Senators) by the hair, and drag them out.' The interviewer said 'so you're condoning violence then?' and the lady said 'oh, no, we're not violent.' I've never seen such a clear example of cognitive dissonance.

Fortunately my contacts with my parents have been limited to phone calls. But yes my mother started telling me about Creepy Joe and the way he sneaks up behind women and touches their shoulders. She said he was a pervert. I about came undone! I said "Mother! You do know Donald Trump's history with women don't you?  " She didn't answer but then stated that Biden was also losing his mind and couldn't I tell that by his speeches and how he loses track when speaking. Honestly - this is a complete 180 for my mom. She was never political and I've never seen her so obsessed with a politician. But she loves Trump. I used to consider my mom a very stable, intelligent, considerate person - now I'm wondering about dementia setting in. |

I used to consider my mom a very stable, intelligent, considerate person - now I'm wondering about dementia setting in. Trump is absolutely a cult leader, in my book. At least some of his faithful followers are brainwashed by all the propaganda. I read an article that also said that she was a "spokesperson" for QAnon I saw a clip earlier today of her ranting. It was about two minutes of yelling and speaking so fast it was hard to understand what she was saying. Quite a few times she didn't finish her sentences. She was enraged.
Creepy Joe? That makes no sense! Trump is the creepy one (as are 3 of his kids and his son-in-law). So sorry that you have to listen to that. Pretty much everything Trump has done or is doing is really Biden who has the issues; pedophile, trying to get his family rich, ties to China, dementia, can't speak coherently. They interviewed her husband on the local news last night. We’ll probably hear a lot more about her since she was a local. Someone posted that she was murdered because she was unarmed. Ummm...they forgot the part where she was trying to break-in. It’s amazing these 2A groupies will fight to the death for their right to kill when someone is breaking into their homes or, ya know, to defend their parking lot spaces...but somehow it’s not okay to defend the nation’s duly elected officials in the Capitol building while that person breaking and entering is committing a felony. |

The live coverage I listened to yesterday explicitly mentioned that it was difficult for armed forces inside to know whether just glass was shattering or a gun had been fired due to the noise. Considering the breach + possibility of a weapon having been fired by one of the rioters, I really don't see how this is anything but defensive gun use.
This wasn't a protest in the street. This was a violent physical invasion of the centre of the US democracy where elected officials were under direct active threat.
