This challenge is for those who scrap slowly and need encouragement to keep scrapping all month or those who want a little encouragement to continue scrapping. It is great for those new to Challenges and is a fun place to come chat with other Pokey scrappers. 1. Post a layout each week, or four layouts per month. These can be posted in the thread or in the gallery. If you post in the gallery, be sure to come to the thread and tell us you posted and tell us the name of the layout so we can find it. You can copy the URL from the gallery and paste it directly into your thread for a link. 2. This challenge can be combined with any other challenges and can be paper, digital or hybrid scrapping. These can be cards, layouts or altered items or any other creative projects. 3. Please comment on the work of others on the thread as your time allows. We all love comments on our layouts. 4. Have fun with this! This should be a "no pressure" challenge. Just post what you finish whether it is one layout or more than four. Come chat with the group as time permits. We love to welcome new members . If you are doing the Team Challenges, this challenge is worth one point for each page when you complete all 4. So that's 4 points for completing the Pokey Pea Challenge.

I look forward to seeing lots of pink and red and doilies this month to brighten things up from storms. The 28-4-28 sounds like a fun way to get February started.

Thanks for starting this thread, nylene. It is always wonderful to drop in here and chat with friends. Stowed away the last of my Christmas scrappy supplies this afternoon. I closed the door to the corner cabinet and yelled, "STAY!" It will be fun to scrap other themes. I see lots of birthday scrapping in my future this month. I need to print pic's of my dgs's 9th bd and dh's 75th from January. Mine is coming up this month as well as another dgs's.

Good Morning! Thanks for starting us up each month nylene . grammadee , I thought the same thing as I was reading the OP - I kinda forget this is for sharing our work, I love the chatter and getting to know each other. grammadee , you are putting your Christmas supplies away and I'm finally thinking about scrapping it. And all the years past that haven't been scrapped lol. Which isn't many. IDK, there are so many things to scrap, I can't settle on a direction lol. I slept in a little this morning and now I'm trying to decide how early I want to go in to work. It's probably a good idea to get a jump start on this week. I'm grateful I have the flexibility to work as much as I need to. Too bad the weather isn't matching with all the people preparing for camping this year lol. We haven't had much in the way of snow yet, but a good steady rain all day on Saturday. I'm really good with that, this is the first year I haven't hoped for a huge snowstorm lol I hope everyone has a great start to the week and the new month!

Hi, Pokeys! joyfulnana, you mean this thread is for sharing our work??? LOL It's my happy place to come and chat, this and the Online Crops. I had to laugh at your usually wanting a big snowstorm. DH used to start saying "Come on,Snow" beginning in about October. People would assume he was a skier. Nope, he just needed the golfing to taper off a bit so he could get other things done around the course. grammadee, I wish my scrap supplies were that organized. I did take a hint from you last year and pull all my Christmas into a plastic container. I don't know what they are called, but have a handle for carrying. Little by little I am trying to get more efficient. My fridge can't decide if it's going out or not. I would like to just call the repairman and say fix it. He is a army buddy of DH so they talk back and forth every day about "try this first". This has been going on since Thursday. If it's not cold enough tomorrow I am going to insist that "someone" needs to come fix it and I don't care who. DH finished he last radiation treatment today. We hope that is all he will need. Fingers crossed. Off to get something done.

Happy Tuesday! Hope you all are well today. We had a wonderful Saturday at the beach revising out wedding reception site. It was COLD but we enjoyed it. I took lots of pictures and will be sharing them in upcoming layouts and projects. nylene- Thanks for our new thread! Great to here your dh finished his last treatment!!!! I hope and pray you both have a nice break from it! Prayers are with you both! Exhale! So funny about your two repairman debating about the refridgerator. Sunday before Thanksgiving, our refridg wasn't working well. We ordered a new one at a local store and it was delievered the next day. So, maybe yours will be fixed or replaced this week. joyfulnana- The big game is Sunday!!!! I hope your team wins. It should be a good game.

nylene, I echo kellyr21's hopes that after your dh's last treatment you can both get a bit of a break from medical issues and appointments! Did you get your fridge fixed? Or will you be ordering a new one? So worrisome not to know if your fridge is going to stay the distance... Nothing wrong with a good snowstorm, joyfulnana if you don't have to go anywhere! I remember as a kid being SO disappointed to hear the snowplow at about 8:30 in the evening after three days off school , and I actually felt the same way one early morning when a well meaning neighbour cleared our driveway so I could get out to drive to work! How much snow did you actually get over the weekend. Stephen Colbert was saying the forecast was for two feet of snow in New York. Was your family able to dig out of that, msliz? Did it go as far north as you, kitbop? We have snow on the ground, but not nearly as much as at this time last year. And our forecast is for cold weather rather than snow. I managed to finish one page today, my sample for Friday's challenge, so hoping this gets me going again. Not sure if I will get any done tomorrow. Dh is home in the morning and will be stressed about a virtual meeting his accountant has set up for him. When the meet is over, I will not have much time to do a quick runthrough to clear away the clutter before out cleaning lady arrives about noon. While she is here, I plan to finish storing away all the boxes of Christmas decorations and wrapping supplies in the basement. I don't know why I bother clearing areas in the basement. I see that the big space that dd & I cleared out over the holidays has now been cluttered up with dh's stuff that he is "sorting". Seems he has been sorting the same stuff for about two years. Don't know why he can't sort in the middle of the other cleared out space where he decided to put up a shelf? That space was cleared--by moving all his stuff that was in it out into the walk-through area in that section of the basement--in November and the shelf is not yet in place... Of course the walk-through area is of no concern to anyone except the person who needs to access the meat in the freezer and the veggies in the potato bin and the pickles and jams in the cold room. Guess who THAT person is? Okay. Enough whining. Off to fix supper...

Happy February Pokeys! I too forget this is a monthly "challenge". It feels like a gathering of friends! Sort of like I love that we give points now for attending the online crops I look forward to seeing lots of pink and red and doilies this month to brighten things up from storms. Hmmm - did you post it as a challenge? I'm not a fan of red/valentine's layouts myself. It's just not my favourite holiday at all. But this year may be different since it's a Sunday and we need things to make life "special" - we could use something to brighten up our month - so my family is going to do a "Secret Valentine" exchange, and have a fancy breakfast and a fancy supper. I may do some decorating too! nylene - *so* glad your DH's treatments are done! Prayers for a healthy recovery now. grammadee, no storms here! we have very little snow right now. Enough to barely cover the grass, but wouldn't be good tobogganing. Also - at least your DH makes an attempt to sort his stuff! My DH just thinks his stuff magically sorts/culls itself from time to time... I'm *still* working on new photos. I have a schedule drawn up for myself to make sure I get through them all! But my neck and back are aching from all the computer time.

Awww nylene that's such great news about DH! I know exactly what he means about wanting things to taper off at work too lol. I'm not sure what I would do about that fridge. I've heard appliances can be hard to come by right now. I hope they can fix it so that it lasts through the aftermath of the pandemic. grammadee I usually love a big snowstorm. IDK, for some reason this year - I've thought about how nice it might be to live somewhere warmer year round. I have never felt that way before! I love the changing of the seasons. I think my age is getting to me lol. Plus it would be awesome if having nowhere to go meant I wasn't going to work either lol. I'm a city kid, so we never got snowed in for days. I would have loved that when I was in school, even though I'm sure my mom would have ripped out her hair lol. hahaha that just made me think about the snow days when she would say "Stay in or stay out!" I have to ask, does the cleaning lady know you clean for her? lol kitbop I'm with ya on Valentine's Day. It's never been a favorite for me either. But I'm a bah humbug scrooge when it comes to most holidays - again - it's my age!! kellyr21 what a great anniversary weekend! I LOVE the card! And the photo of you two on your wedding day. You guys are such a beautiful couple.

kitbop and joyfulnana, I didn't mean for the doilies, etc. to be a challenge. I am just tired of politics and pandemic and wanted to see something happy...like doilies. I actually love Valentine's Day because it was the day Em was born. She has always been our Valentine. We don't have much snow here, just a bit on the ground. We had 50 degree weather yesterday but are expecting a storm today. The sky is just black right now. I can tell it's coming but probably will bring more rain than snow. I am working on doing some of the 28-4-28 challenges. I don't know how much I will accomplish, but it's fun to try. I see the dentist tomorrow about crowning the tooth but it is still too sore to chew on. I think there is something else wrong. In the meantime I managed to break a tooth. It happened as I was eating soup! which is what I have lived on for the past month. This getting old is for the birds. Take care of yourselves in the stormy areas. Hugs to each of you. kellyr21, I'm off to see your blog post.

Hello ladies. nylene I agree you and your DH deserve a break. Sending positive vibes your way. I am back at work today. Students start in person on Monday. I will miss having a break for yoga or crafting. Who needs coffee breaks? Plus this means I have a 30 minute commute to work again. Which isn't horrible, but longer than the zero minutes I have had. I've got a lot of crafty projects on the go: Layout a Day, the 100 Day Project, One Little Word, daily pages (although these might be on hiatus.) I don't think I'll be doing 28-4-28.

grammadee, we probably got a little over a foot of snow. I think they might have measured it officially as more, but it was wet and heavy so it compressed a bit. We have a plow come to do the driveway, and DH did the walkway and the edges with the snowblower. I'm glad he didn't have to shovel it by hand. I'm even more glad that I didn't have to shovel it by hand! I was too busy scrapbooking anyway.

stay warm and safe everyone with snowstorms. It's been cold here - freeze warnings all week - but snow is incredibly rare...people still talk about the Christmas snow of 1989.
We're still not moved in - going to start moving this weekend and hopefully can have enough moved between this weekend and next to actually MOVE IN.
We keep having little hiccups butbetter to fix these things now, I think. Electrician came back out on Thursday and ended up calling in the electric company and it turned out to be a problem on their end...the house wasn't grounded or the wires coming to the house weren't grounded, something like that. But it's fixed now.
And we're still fighting with the house insurance underwriter about the upstairs water heater. We just replaced it (as it was original to the house so 41 years old) and put in a new drip pan with an alarm but the insurance insists it needs to have an overflow drain line. The only nearby lines are sewer lines and tapping into those are a BAD idea. So the plumber and the insurance company have been back and forth over this, plumber has sent photos etc... Looks like we're going to have to pull up carpet and drill through the floor and run a pipe out between the floor joists and down. Yay...will take 2 solid days of work and cost about $1200 (and that's with a good customer discount from the plumber). And the flooring people come on the 15th for the bonus room and dining room - we're replacing carpet with laminate.
And somewhere in here I need to sew a dress for DD14 - she's being confirmed in April and can't find a dress she likes. So she picked out a pattern and I bought fabric for a test version.

Happy Friday! It is a sunny and warm day today and I am soaking it all up. Sending warm sunlight your way! Thanks for all the anniversary love and visiting my story about our weekend. I am making some cards for our fam/friends to send out this weekend. I just finished a new video inspired my Heidi Swapp. She made these pretty Valentine's Day tags and I had to try it out. She also has a class showing how she did with her MINC machine. grammadee you might like this. My Tutorial Video Link HereValentine's Day Tag Album by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr justjac - I hope you have a terrific weekend before you get back to work. Hang in there! joyfulnana - Thanks for the anniversary love. It was a quick card to make and he enjoyed it. nylene , thanks for the comment on my blog and all the years of support! I hope the game is a good one! Fingers crossed!

Linda, you are getting closer and closer to moving in. I hope things go smoothly for you. Moving is always a big job. I am sending you moral support. Congrats on your DD's Confirmation. I'd love to see what dress you are making for her. She's lucky to have a mom who sews. justjac, I hope school goes well for you. I'm sure it feels different after not being in person for so long. I don't know how you keep up with all the projects you do. What are you doing this year for 100 days. I was so happy to be the recipient of one of your hand colored gnomes for Christmas. kellyr21, I will come back after dinner to enjoy your video. I love the tags you made. joyfulnana and any others who are excited about the Super Bowl, I hope your favored team wins. I bought some snacks for DH, but I plan to hide in my scraproom and enjoy the quiet. LOL. Sending hugs and waves to each of you sweet Pokeys. I have posted a bunch of pages and will post on this thread later tonight. Have a great evening.

Thanks for checking in, Linda, when you are so busy getting ready for the move. I hope you can get the water heater issue solved and that the move goes smoothly. kitbop, those Valentines plans sound wonderful! So cool to hear about all the different ways that families are finding to stay connected and enjoy the little moments. I hope you get lots of photos and have fun scrapping the event later. We never do much for Valentines, either. If the kids were here, we would bake cookies... Those tags are really pretty, kellyr21. I like that you made your own pp with paints. And the gold goes so well with the bright pinks. I can see where the minc could be used for foiling these, especially if I got the nerve up to pull out my transfer ink again and actually USED my stamp pads with it. nylene, I really hope your dentist can find a way to get you some relief for your teeth! Glad to see you are feeling well enough to do some pages. Looking forward to seeing them. I am really behind in commenting--and even further behind in keeping track of my comments! I finished the sample for one more of my own 28-4-28 challenges today, so just one more to do. I have one page started on my scrap counter, and thinking if I use that for my last sample then I can relax and have some fun playing with all the other challenges. And by 10:00AM tomorrow I need to have a birthday card assembled for my sister-in-law (Dh will be driving over there to feed cattle in the morning, and he can deliver the card). Nothing like a little pressure to get things DONE !!! Had a quiet birthday myself, today, what with everything closed and it being so cold. Spent most of the day on the phone or on Facetime with family: my brother, sisters in law, kids and grandkids, a couple of nieces. Dh got me a cake from the bakery, and we had that for supper. Dd and dgs joined in via facetime for the candles. I shared a couple of photos in the PHOTO challenge. Okay. This old lady needs to toddle off to bed...

kellyr21 - those tags are beautiful! nylene - looking forward to seeing your pages. I hope your dentist helps soon = tooth pain is the worst grammadee - glad you had a nice birthday! And sounds like you've been busy in the scraproom! We moved over two loads of boxes today. All those boxes plus the ones already in the garage have been moved inside to the right rooms - except for the stuff for DH's hobby room - we're not putting anything in there until the flooring is done on the 15th. The girls have changed their minds about two-storey houses now they've had to carry boxes upon boxes up the stairs. Looking around this house, we've barely made a dent. We would have done one more load but the storms rolled in. Hopefully we can do a bunch more tomorrow. I would like to get everything that is currently boxed moved so we can move furniture next weekend (weather permitting). I'm exhausted though - I'm too old for this - and dh is napping in the recliner.

Linda - moving is a nightmare. Seriously - I have recurring nightmares about moving, about leaving the packing until the day of and trying to get everything packed up... Sorry you are so tired, and I can't wait for the day when you are relaxing in your new place! grammadee - HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I don't know how I missed this piece of news. Cake for dinner sounds fine We have no birthdays from January through April here. I made a cake last week because we were in withdrawl. I still have 1 of my 28-4-28 samples to complete, but am waiting to get my photos printed. I took a break from photos last night to work on 2 of the challenges in one - a sketch, plus the colour palette. That's allowed, doubling up, right??? It was nice to join the crop and kept me focussed. kellyr21 - loved seeing your anniversary card last night - so elegant. How many are you sending out? We're under maybe 6 inches of snow total, a fresh inch last night, enough to be pretty but not enough to be troublesome. Not that there is anywhere to go! It's DH's only day off this week, and I suggested we go to Costco...he wasn't enthused... We share a membership with my SIL/BIL (he and his brother are identical twins. Sharing memberships is common between them!) but that means I can't go to Costco without him! I'm going to do 2 hours of photo editing and then may join the online crop for a while. And I've been watching Superbowl ads online for fun. They're usually pretty clever! Happy Superbowl Sunday everyone!

I have my CV Daydream papers (for the colour challenge) and some pic's to go with them, but thinking of using a sketch to pull them together. Was hoping to get onto the crop for a bit today, but that will depend on what dh has in his head for the day. With the outdoor temps hovering around -40, he will definitely be in the house all day...

Linda, so glad to see you checking in with all the busy work of moving. I'm one of those "make it up first to get the fit right" seamstresses. I look forward to seeing the finished project. We have given up on adjusting the fridge to see if we can fix it. The repairman (DH's army buddy) will be here this a.m. to take a look. He says it sounds like an easy fix and we shouldn't give up on the fridge. We will see. grammadee, I am so sorry I missed your birthday! I hope you had a wonderful day. I need to get going on b-day cards for the 10th and 14th of this month. My DGD is always so excited about interactive cards that I don't think I can do anything else for her. She will be 17.. Repairman is here. I need to run.

Good Monday morning, Pokeys! It is a cold one out here in Alberta. Wind chills predicted for -47 over night. But the house is hollow. The furnace works. We have enough food to feed an army in a famine. So we are good. The dogs go outside for short bathroom breaks and to get a little exercise and then they are right back in the garage. Glad things are moving along for your move, Linda. Can't believe you are planning to make not one but TWO dresses! Sounds like you will be putting your new craft room to good fairly quickly! Sorry about your Chiefs, joyfulnana. I don't know anything about the NFL, but I know what it is like to wish for a win and not get it from a favourite team! Dh watched the game last night while I was puttering around in the kitchen. Good to see your pages, nylene. So sweet that yout 17 yr old dgd loves your interative cards. Can't wait to see what you come up with. I need to make some birthday cards, too. One is for my dsil who will be turning 81 and one is for my dgs who will be 8. Somehow I don't think I will be able to use the same design for both! I have finished my 28-4-28 samples and am having fun playing with the other challenges now. Started typing up a story for gramma's heritage challenge, but I didn't like it, so I closed it out without saving. Will give it another try when I feel a little more inspired... Maybe I need to face time the grandkids and ask what THEY would like to know about my childhood. Maybe I can write it up as a conversation... But right now, I am working on my eyelet & brad heart for the Donna challenge. Have the heart cut from burlap and positioned on a sheet of cs. Eyelets are set. I am slowly selecting brads from my extensive collection to fill in the middle. No worry that I will run out of brads... I could probably do a mosaic design on all the walls of this room and still have some left! Have a Marvelous Monday and a wonderful week!

hello all. Spent the morning at the new house - unloaded the car of boxes and put in the right rooms. Unpacked the movies and put them on shelves - ran out of space. I think we need to get rid of some but I'm pretty sure DH will just find a new something to store them on. Unpacked books and filled up 3 big bookcases. We have three more for the library/guestroom that haven't been moved yet but for now at least, there are no more boxes in that room. Brought all the empty boxes back at lunch. Will do school with dd14 this afternoon and then work on packing some more. I also printed off the dress pattern last night (it's a PDF) and need to get it taped together. Good luck with the fridge nyleneWow - that's COLD grammadee brrrrr gramma - I always do a test run if it's for something special (or using expensive fabric)

grammadee Happy Birthday!! I hope it was a good day. kellyr21 Happy Anniversary!! nylene I am happy to hear your DH finished his treatments!f. Hopefully they went well and no more are needed. Good luck with your fridge. I have had a few days off from work but going tomorrow for skin checks. That is always a fun day when we walk into patients rooms and have to look at their bottoms for any skin breakdown. I put my car in the shop today and have a rental. I really want to trade my car in this year for an SUV. They let me have an Acura RDX to see how I would like it. So far so good!! The weather is getting icy so it makes me a bit nervous. It is like driving a computer on wheels! I want to get siding on my house and then see what money I have left over to put towards a down payment. I refinanced my house. I got to close last Friday. It went smooth till I found out I had to have DH sign a waiver to keep the house in my name. I explained why I wanted to keep the house in my name and I got told that wasn’t a problem. I even told my husband and why which he was okay with. Then a week ago, I got told my husband had to sign papers. Well, he told me he would give them verbal consent but wouldn’t sign papers. I got a copy of the form and they were trying to explain things to me to relay to him. I finally got him to talk to the title company about his concerns. After talking with them, he agreed to sign the paperwork. Cheez!! Being married causes to much trouble when you were raised to be independent!! I dislike the fact that he has to sign off on things now. I am chilling at the coffee shop but may head home soon till they call me to pick up my car. I just hope it doesn’t get to slick before then! I hope to work on some digital art using Procreate plus do some cleaning/organizing today.

Congratulations on refinancing. We had all kinds of what felt like unneccessary paperwork with our mortgage also because while the house is in both our names, the mortgage is just in his but I was providing the down payment (and we have separate accounts). They do seem to overcomplicate stuff don't they?

Happy Monday! We had a quite weekend and I am ok with that. Lots to do this week and I am off to a good start so far today. I enjoyed being on the call with you gals on Saturday. I hope I can join in more. Thanks msliz for hosting. I am working on anniversary cards for some of my loved ones. kitbop , I hope to make about 20 or so. I got four in the mail today and will be sending out more this week. Also, I put together 39 Anna Griffin cards I had sitting in a box. I was like someone could be using these cards. They turned out so pretty that I want to just keep them but it is time to gift them. I hope to donate them to several someones and/or places. I know they will give someone a nice smile. Here are a few of these cards! Oh, so pretty!!!! Each card is two pieces, the topper sentiment and the patterned paper 5x7 card. It was fun to mix and match the two. Anna Griffin Cards by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr grammadee - Glad you had a nice birthday!!! joyfulnana - Hugs to ya on the Superbowl loss last night. Boy, that game was so tough to watch. I got up towards the end and took a walk. LOL! I hated to see the Chiefs shut out like that. Congrats to Tom Brady! That was incredible to see a 40 plus man play so well. knutschen - Thanks! We had a nice time celebrating! Hey, cool to see you are working on some art! nylene - I hope your refrigerator is all good now. Great to see ya Saturday. Hope you mouth is feeling better today. linda - Thanks and I am glad to see your moving process is going ok. It won't be long before you are all moved in. Waving hello to all you sweet peas and have a good rest of your day.

Hey Pokey's - Happy belated Birthday grammadee!! I'm not sure how I missed that it was coming up. It sounds like you had a busy day with your family virtually. Cake for dinner is a fabulous idea! And with kitbop baking cake too, now I think I could use some cake lol. I was hoping we could combine the challenges because that's what I intend to do. Otherwise I won't get any of them done, and getting any done is still up for debate. linda I hate moving. So much. I can't imagine trying to move in chunks the way you are, homeschooling, sewing AND scrapping! You're a machine! nylene I hope you got good news on the fridge. I should have skipped that game and spent the time scrapping instead. It was horribly painful to watch. kellyr21 your cards are so beautiful! I gave the Chiefs the half time to reset. When the Bucs scored that TD right away I put it on mute and took a shower. Tampa scored 10 more points while I was in the shower! ugh! I only half listened to the rest. I am more disappointed that it wasn't even close than I am in the loss. But people around here don't seem to tooo bummed about it. Because the team is young and we are just getting started. And there's no denying Brady is GOOD. But he'll continue to get older and Mahomes will get better so hopefully we will get another shot at him in a couple years lol. I've got to get myself in gear and do some crafting. I've gotten a couple pages done that I'm not crazy about, I'm not sure if I will just leave them or tweak them. I hope everyone is having a good start to the week! No Rudy this weekend so I should be able to make both crops. It's cold here - well below freezing but not -40 like it is where you are grammadee! That's crazy cold! It's single digits here - but above zero, and I'm pretty sure I won't leave the house at all this week lol. I'm a wuss lol. We keep getting just enough snow to keep the roads bad.
