kitbop - ((((Hugs))) I need new shelving also - DH looked so thrilled when I mentioned that Got to buy a new fridge tonight - yay! - nothing like grabbing a drink from the fridge and finding it is room temperature. Thankfully it was the fridge in the new house so only drinks in it so we didn't lose anything but I hadn't planned on replacing it just yet. Plumbers start work at 7am tomorrow - that makes for an awfully early start for me since I'm the one who will be hanging out there all day. Hoping we might get beds moved this weekend...

I'm sorry kitbop but that made me lol. It will all be worth it in the end right? I was and am always the chief furniture builder and it's tedious! My biggest fear is there will be missing parts. Linda it's one thing after another isn't it? At least this has been a slow move and you didn't have to rush in only to find all these later. I hope you can get a new fridge quickly, I guess appliances and home furnishings have been in short supply this past year. Your scraproom is set up and beds are coming, that's progress! I can't wait to see it all once you're in and settled!

Good Friday morning, Pokeys! Hoping the fridge shopping goes well, Linda . You are right: better now than if it were full of food you needed to find a cool place for. Call out, kitbop ! Hoping you are not buried under your shelving... And if you can find a way--or a marriage counselor--that can get you through construction project conflicts, you have discovered gold! Hoping you will soon have a space that gives you renewed scrappy mojo. Continued loving thoughts going out to kellyr21 as you deal with your loss.
Did I hear that Saturday is Rudie day, joyfulnana? Hope you have a blast. I am hoping to join into the crop on Sunday. Hoping you can join then too and tell us about your adventures. How are you doing with 28-4-28? Still not sure what I will do with the story I typed out last week for gramma 's prompts. Think I will print it on vellum so I can overlay it on some heritage type papers. Need to dig those out. I am also pulling out papers I think I can use for the summer colours/winter photos LO. This may take awhile, cuz I want to diecut some pieces, and after seeing lilacgal 's sample, I want to cluster on lots of fun elements, which I will need to find in my Winter bin and my Summer drawer. And I am slowly getting ready for tomorrow. Dd and dgs will be meeting us at a nature park for a wiener roast. Yes, in the winter! We are allowed to have an outdoor gathering, and Sunday is dgs's 8th birthday. Just us and them, but it will be an adventure. I think she is packing their skates (supposed to be skating on the lake) and he snow scooter for treking some of the trails. We are bringing the wiener sticks and fire starting supplies and lawn chairs. So I am not only searching for summer supplies in my scrap room! Also I need to organize my vehicle. I get used to traveling alone, so the front seat is kind of a filing cabinet, dump off zone. Guess I will have to make room for dh. Oh yeah. And I need to charge my camera battery! And I will get nothing done if I continue to gab along here... TTYL.

Hi Pokeys! Linda - hoping the plumbers got in and out and left you with some peaceful time today! Sounds like things are moving forward. A new fridge is NOT cheap...sorry that happened to you. joyfulnana - I seem to remember you won't be joining the crops this weekend because you have Rudy??? If so, have fun! If not...see you this weekend! nylene - still feeling good dental-wise? Will we see you this weekend? grammadee - I'm pretty behind on 28-4-28... mainly because of a scraproom reorganization! My basement is now wall to wall furniture and shelves - with some extra shelves over top of the desks. It's a 4 purpose room: 1. my middle DS's bedroom 2. a rec room/tv room (seldom used) 3. my scrapbook space 4. storage area (we have no garage). It's about 200 sq. feet Thus, when I decide to build furniture there is a LOT of difficult moving/reorganization (and deep cleaning behind the wall to wall shelving) that goes on! We finished the wall shelves at 11:00, only to discover that we'd placed the 3rd vertical support less than 1/4" too close, so the shelves won't fit in. We left it. Today, I will remove that rod and putty the holes and we'll try again Sunday after it dries. Moving dry-wall anchors 1/4" is...ugh. But the first section works great! We have company coming for the weekend (my BIL, my nephew and niece) which is huge - we haven't seen them since the summer! So I also have lots of clean/store/cook chores on my list. But I definitely plan join the crops this weekend!

Waving hi to you sweet peas!!! Thanks for all the prayers and support. It means so much to me. It has been really hard but I hope each day will get better. Today, I am working on my first sheetload project as a good distraction. I hope I can figure it out and have some fun in the mist of this grief. Hugs to you all!

hello all. Plumbers are all done inside - they have to come back to finish up one thing outside - they need an extension ladder for that. After asking if they could start at 7, they texted to say they were having a rough morning and wouldn't be there until 830. Yawn - I got up early for nothing. Fridge has been ordered - it'll be delivered on Monday. Yeah - not an inexpensive purchase. I'm hoping we're done with expensive repairs etc...we do still need the electricians out again. I did manage one scrapbook page today and I emptied my mending pile AND finished sewing a pair of sleep shorts. So a productive day after I unloaded the car and unpacked more of the kitchen. kitbop - what a giant pain and for 1/4" - I'm sorry. grammadee - Happy Birthday to your DGS - what a fun (cold?) adventure. kellyr21 - continuing to keep you in my prayers. I hope the card project helps.

kellyr21 , thank you for checking in. We love you and are sending hugs and prayers for comfort. Treat yourself kindly. I hope you enjoy working on the sheetload cards. Linda , after reading about your plumbers and the need for a new fridge you added that you completed a page, did your mending and completed a pair of sleep shorts. You are Wonder Woman! Pat yourself on the back. I'm glad every day takes you closer to moving in entirely. joyfulnana , I am jealous that you get to spend some time with Rudy. I hope you two have a wonderful weekend together. We will miss you on the Online Crop. How is the weather there? It looks like ice and snow all through your area. We are expecting a little more snow in the next week, but most has melted off now. grammadee , your winter weiner roast sounds just wonderful. We used to do that after a day of hunting for pinenuts in the mountains. That was the best part of the day. I hope you have a great time together. You are a Machine, turning out the 28-4-28 pages! I am really loving your work. I think I hit a wall, but I have a few more I would like to finish. gramma , I did Keri Bradford's History Project a few years ago and have added to it each year while my granddaughter was doing Nanowrimo, as encouragement for her. I am trying to come up with memories I haven't already written up but they don't really fit your prompts. The History Project has some die cuts, etc. on the pages, but are mostly journaling and sometimes a photo. I'm trying to make my pages look similar so they fit together in the History Project. I figure I can just take the Easy Peasy points for completing the pages. kitbop , sorry about the furniture building. I feel your pain! Have fun being with family this weekend. I got on the Covid website yesterday and up popped a couple of slots for 2nd Moderna vaccines. I quickly registered, we cleaned up and drove to the Health Center. I just happened on it at the perfect time. Our DD has a walnut sized lump on her clavicle from her 2nd shot. The first one gave her a small lump. She had a routine appt with her Dr. and mentioned it and he thinks it's just a lymph node from the shot, but will follow up with her if it doesn't go down. We have felt fine. I got a call from our granddaughter to tell me that she got engaged. We felt like it was coming, but probably not for a while. The family really loves her fiancé and he fits into their family very well. They will be married on April 10th between semesters and go right back to school. My DD was lamenting, she will have one daughter getting married and another daughter having first baby and graduating from college all within 2 weeks. Sounds like a busy time. That's when I'm glad to be out of that time of life! LOL

nylene and everyone else. Please don't think you have to stick strictly to the prompts I've posted. They are meant to get ya'll remembering and saving those memories. Just take Easy Peasy points. I'm not going to get all up in arms because a challenge didn't "follow the rules". Be a rebel!!

Good Morning! kellyr21 I'm thinking of you nylene I know how much you miss the grands, and I miss hearing about your escapades with them. And all the Alex-isms lol. Your DD is going to be buuusyyyy! I don't envy her! Times like that I'm glad I'm a boy mom Our snow and ice are pretty well gone now, or the weather pattern that causes them let's say, because the ground is still covered lol So does this mean you and DH are both fully vaccinated? I'm still far down the list, but in the next group they open them up for based on age. My mom got her second shot Friday, and so far no symptoms, only a sore arm. kitbop 1/4". That sucks! That had to be so frustrating! I hope you enjoyed your visitors! grammadee your weiner roast sound so awesome!! What a fun time that will be! As far as 28-4-28, I love all the challenges and and am very very behind. I've got one page I've been working on in little spurts since last weekend that will meet two of them. And I have plans laid out for the @kitbops first recipe challenge. I know I'll be adding these to next months challenges because I want to do them all, they are so great! Linda that's great that you get a new fridge delivered so quickly! Maybe supply chains are finally catching up again. I sure hope so! Although we are soooo far behind on production, further now than we were last summer. The trade show season is late January and February, so we have all of those orders now on top of the backlog from earlier. Wow! I'm just amazed at all you are getting done in the midst of a move. But how great you can bring boxes over and unpack them as you go, rather than having a house full of boxes. I'm sorry I missed the crop last night. I so enjoy seeing everyone, and the Saturday nights bring different people that I don't get to see too often - looking at you nylene and kellyr21 Which is the beauty of having one each day, I do get to see familiar and new faces. It was my turn to host today, but grammadee has graciously said she will sub for me, since my youngest DS is celebrating his 6 month drug free anniversary. We have been through so much with this kid, and watched him start and stop, but 6 months is the longest he's been clean in years. I'm so proud of him! We are having pizza and cake. Cake! I finally get some cake! lol. Originally he wanted to do it this evening, which was perfect, I could still host today. Then last minute he decided to take some OT at work, so now we will be gathering about 10 AM, which is one hour before the crop. Rudy's dad set up a play date with their neighbor's granddaughter that turned into 5+ hours of two 6 year olds lol. He sent Rudy over for awhile once that was done. I got to hear about school. - He doesn't like it much. Likes all of his teachers, except his main teacher. I think he'll like school a lot better when he's in person with it. Once he left, I ran out to get the cake and by the time I got home, there was only about an hour left of the crop. And I always debate with myself about joining in then. Which is really ridiculous, because an hour of scrapping is an hour of scrapping! Thanks so much for hosting today grammadee! Next weekend I should be in for both! *fingers crossed*

Have an incredible day, joyfulnana, with your family! Yesterday was really nice. The temps were right around freezing, but we were all dressed for outdoor winter activities. There was a fierce wind off the lake, but dd arrived right at park opening and got us a prime fire pit location in a sheltered spot quite close to the parking area. Dgs was excited to build the fire and roast hot dogs and marshmallows and drink pop, and do all things camping. We had to do all that before noon, just to get the wiggles out! Dh loves a fire, so he stayed with ours while dd & dgs & I went exploring. Then there was the fun of his opening the gift from us. It was a remote control ski trail groomer/snow plough and it got quite a work out until the batteries gave out. We packed up and headed out before boredom had a chance to sneak in. Dh & I stopped for supper and a sundae at Dairy Queen on the way home. Dd texted that they got home and immediately headed outside to go sledding and snow skootering for another couple of hours before going into the house. Oh the joys of coming out of the deep freeze! Now that you and your dh have had your second shots, nylene, I look forward to hearing about and seeing on pages gatherings with YOUR delightful family. As a gramma, all the milestones are much more fun than as a mom: from births to firsts to graduations and weddings. And I hope you can be present for at least the grad and the wedding! Okay, off to find a power cord for my ipad in case it runs out of juice before the end of the crop today...

Good morning scrappy friends! I hope you all had a nice weekend. Mine was pretty mellow and I got to spend time with the fam, so it was all good. Kitbop - your post about the shelving made me laugh. I'm glad it turned out well. I hope you had a nice weekend with your BIL and his family. Kelly - Hugs to you. I'm so sorry for your loss. Linda - It's exciting that you are able to sleep at the new place. Are you almost done with the move? Moving is so exhausting, I feel for you. Nylene - It's great that you and Steve are finished with your vaccines! We had a doctor that has done a lot of work with Covid do a video meeting with the staff at my job last week. One of my favorite parts was him telling us that after their vaccinations, it was okay to hug their grandparents again, so I'm happy that you can hug your grandkids again. It's also very exciting that you have a great-grand baby on the way. Well, I have to get moving. Griffin has to go to school in person today to take the state's standardized testing, it's been cancelled twice due to all the snow in the past couple of weeks. I'm going to drop him off so he doesn't have to trudge through the mess to walk there (it's about a mile from our house). Take care all!

Thanks for checking in, shinyhappytina. Hope your ds does well on the exams. So cool that you finally got to sleep in your new home, Linda. I know there are still really busy times ahead, but getting the furniture in place must be a real relief! Fingers crossed that the fridge delivery goes without a hitch and that it works perfectly. It was good visiting with msliz, kitbop, gramma, and justjac and other Peas on line yesterday. I have two LO's to show for it, and will share when it is light enough to get a decent photo. Not sure when that will be. It is very dull out there this morning. A few flakes of snow in the air. The temps have been falling overnight, so this must be a new "system" on its way in. It's icy out there: hope your drive to work is a safe one, justjac! Thanks for letting us know how you are, kellyr21. No need to be brave all the time. Give yourself space and time to grieve and remember. If crafting gives you the release you need, by all means craft away. I know your mother will be smiling as she looks down at your pretty work. Dh has some appointments in town this morning, and I was thinking I would use the time to take on a couple more 28-4-28 challenges, but before I can do one more thing in this room I need to start putting away a bunch of stuff. Meeting the challenges, I have been bouncing around from theme to theme, which means I have pieces scrappy supplies of all seasons and multiple events all over the place: can't even easily access the photos I wanted to scrap next! So cleaning it is...

fridge delivery...I wouldn't say without a hitch but it's all installed and working. They had a hard time getting the old fridge out - finally took it through the living room into the screen porch into the back yard and around the house to the truck and did the reverse journey with the new fridge. They had to take off the handles and remove some of my kitchen drawers and at one point they were talking about taking my back door off its hinges. They were here a good two hours. Last night DH and I went over to the new house and loaded up the car with more boxes and tonight we loaded the car AND DH loaded the washer and dryer onto the trailer. They are sitting in my screen porch right now but after doing some measuring - they aren't coming in that way - the door from the kitchen to the utility room is a hair too narrow. I think they'll come in via the garage which will necessitate some re-arranging tomorrow so there's a path through there - lots of boxes are stacked in there. Debating whether to sign up for the March challenges - Looking over at my scrap table, I have plenty to do but time and energy have been lacking. How did the scrap clean-up go? grammadeekellyr21 - keeping you in my prayers. Day by day is best, ime. I LOVE your layout - lovely colours and the strong vertical lines and that pretty tag tucked into the pocket.

Beautiful page, kellyr21 and cute pocket! Glad you are taking it easy and being good to yourself. I'll bet your cards will be beautiful, like they always are. Glad you have the fridge in place and it WORKS, Linda. Doors in older houses do not work well with newer appliances, do they. Hope that making a path for the washer/dryer through the garage is not too difficult. I think you should definitely sign up for a team in March. I think your craft room will be calling you. And you can claim points for the hour for sewing your dd's dress. My scraproom is not clean by any means, but I now have a space to play with paper. I found some things I was looking for, so that was a good thing. Used them right away before they hid themselves again! Dd called this morning to say her MIL had been found collapsed in her appartment this morning and taken to hospital. She lives in London, Ontario. News has been coming in bits and pieces all day. First that she was in triage and they were doing tests, then that she was "awake" and that she was given a bed in the ED, then that she had to be intubated. Last news was that she had a stroke. Not sure if that happened at the time she collapsed or if it is a result of something that happened today. Two of her sons are stationed overseas, and the third--who is local to her--is not even sure what qustions to ask the nurses. Dd called me to see if I could be on standby in case she had to go there. Not sure if or when that might happen but I did laundry and got some clothes organized today. And I started putting together a few page kits in case I need to go there, so I will have something to do while dgs is in school. Tomorrow Alberta is opening up appointments for people over 75 years of age and not in seniors' care homes. So I need to get on the computer early in the morning to register dh. Hoping that when he gets his vaccine, I will be able to get the shot too, but will have to wait and see. Okay, off to watch the last of the curling game, and then to bed.

{{ grammadee}}, and to your dd too. What a wretched time for her. How old was her MIL? All of our normal pre-programmed responses to help us through losses like this have to be rethought. I hope the family can work out a plan that gives them all some peace - but it's hard if 2 of her boys are overseas

Thank you. Plans are changing as other pieces fall into place, but as of now, it looks like dd's husband and his brother will be able to come back to Canada (from two different parts of the world) for two weeks. Their bases are diligent on Covid testing and protocols as are their military transports. Dd will fly on Sunday to Ontario with dgs and her dh's sister. I will go up Sunday, drive them to the airport, and come home to the farm with their pets (two dogs and a cat) who will stay here until dd can get back home.
They are planning to have a small family celebration of life, probably on the following weekend, however they can manage it with the ever changing regulations. Dd has been spending the day collecting photographs and writing the obituary with input on line from other family members. Her mil was 68. As I understand it, she had an aneurysm of the abdominal aorta.

Sending hugs to you and DD and her family grammadee . There's an extra layer of complications to things that are so hard to deal with even under normal circumstances. Sending hugs to you, too, kellyr21 . Your page is beautiful. Linda they had to take the door off our fridge last year to get it into place. If they had come in the front door instead I think it would have been fine, but I wasn't there to put in my two cents. I'm back teaching my adult students face to face. Sort of. They're trickling in. Some are just handing in assignments and working from home anyway. The kids aren't back in class and that impacts many of my students. Today I'm on my own, and instead of capitalizing on the free time to catch up on paperwork and course development and Google Classroom, I am on here. Our province has restrictions in place that won't be reviewed for close to a month that prohibit visiting other households. My MIL and BIL both have birthdays the first week in March and I was really hoping we'd get to have cake together. At least numbers are coming down, so it's working (along with the vaccine although the numbers getting it aren't super high. My mom just turned 75 and hasn't heard anything yet.) I've been bad at sharing my projects. Here are my last two Layout a Day pages I completed. I'll try to share more of them later. New TableScrappy Friends
