I'm glad the plastic surgeon was able to help her and even saved her hair... she's really lucky she didn't have any injuries or damage to her scalp from the whole thing.

I was reading about this on twitter and one author made an argument that this is just another form of racism. That the expectation on Black women’s beauty are so high that they’ll do anything to conform, including glue their own hair. Someone did mention the product you mention. It’s my understanding though that this woman didn’t think she was grabbing the other product, she just didn’t think it would be a problem to use it as she did. I admit, this POV surprised me. All of it’s a major reach if you ask me. Black women have beauty standards that aren’t realistic, now that is absolutely true but the Gorilla Snot isn’t something even half of Black women use it’s a Latin product that maybe has been trending in Black hair for like 12-18 months max. There are a million and one Black owned edge controls too. We make hair trends and none of them would be considered conforming. This is just one woman’s poor decision making. Thank you for weighing in. I was hoping you would. I was really trying to understand that POV and came to the conclusion that it was a reach but I was willing to be wrong. I appreciate your perspective.

There is a guy in Los Angeles that thought this whole thing was a hoax.
He went on FB and used GG super glue to attach a red solo cup to his mouth/nose. He said he thought he could moisten it with saliva and the GG would release.
It took a trip to the hospital to remove the cup.
Please don't tell me there is now a GG challenge. I give up if there is.

Agree here about impossible beauty standards. I once tried to use a certain mlm brand of a waist wrap. I thought was allergic to whatever is in when I broke out in a rash around my entire midsection. I tried using cortisone cream and benadryl but apparently my skin was basically burned. That was embarassing to tell my doctor. All because apparently you can't have a large behind AND a large midsection. Although I'm white, I'm not supposed to have body fat at all.
And yes, this is tongue in cheek. I think many of us have done some really dumb stuff in vain pursuits. I am so glad this lady was able to get it removed. Maybe she can chronicle the regrowth of her hair with a beauty brand and make a killing.
