I honestly do not understand how any decent law biding American can support this shit.
It was trump supporters that overran the Capital, it was trump supporters that put up a gallows and searched for specific individuals who were at the Capital like Pence and Pelosi. Do you have any idea what that mob would have done if they had found those two? Ask them for their autographs? I don’t think so, not when they put up a gallows.
The attitude shown by the Republicans in Congress on what happened on January 6 is just disgusting.

Well, of course Blunt wants to shift focus away from the cause of the riot, because there are GOP Representatives and Senators who bear part of the responsibility for inciting the riot. Much better to point the finger away to the Capitol Police and other security entities than have the GOP face more stark evidence of THEIR complicity in the attempted insurrection. |

Sen Ron Johnson, just yesterday, doubled down in his comments about feeling safe at the Capitol Jan 6th and would not have had they been the others.
MSNBC: just quoted Sen Roy Blunt saying it has to be addressed and should never happen again.

FYI, Tom Cotton is big mad.  It wasn’t necessary for the Democrats to use it when the Republicans were in the majority because the Republicans never let anything come up for a vote. Other than the tax cuts in 2017 that benefitted themselves and their corporate donors, did they even vote on any other legislation? |

Other than the tax cuts in 2017 that benefitted themselves and their corporate donors, did they even vote on any other legislation? I know that a lot of bills were shelved because Mitch wouldn’t bring them to the floor. Cotton is pissed because we’re gonna have to make them work for that filibuster. They had every intention of shutting legislation down and buggering off home for the weekend, or whatever. Now they will have to stick around and fight. I bet Rand Paul is even more pissed.  |

Apparently The House is having a discussion about making DC a state.
Who knew a territory had to have a car dealership as requirement to become a state. And If I’m not mistaken the vast majority of states became states before the car was even invented which would mean there were no car dealerships.
How stupid are these people. Let’s be clear, the only reason this GOP doesn’t want DC or Puerto Rico to become states is because they are convinced they will both vote Democratic which means 4 new Democratic Senators.

So that’s the GOP’s plan. Instead of coming up with an agenda to actually help the American people they are going to attack the current President for trying to deal with a tragic situation as best he can while treating these individuals as humans instead of pieces of garbage as apparently the GOP believes is acceptable. I’m really beginning to hate the GOP.

This article is mostly about the Guam National Guard being misused by the delegate when they delivered cookies from Guam as a political move and she has written to the Pentagon with complaints about the NG harassing her... Thank you for adding the links. What I would like to know is: why would POTUS ever engage in a debate with a leader from another nation? Do we have any precedent for that? And I'm not just talking about an argument that arises in a meeting that was scheduled as a meeting rather than a debate (i.e. Nixon and Kruchev's " kitchen debate" that happened when Nixon was VP). I mean a real debate, with a moderator and rules? Is there any precedent for such a thing? |

It's a dumb argument. Just something they can point to and say, "Biden is a chicken" in my opinion, anyway. eta: there is no valid reason for a debate between the US and Russian leaders; they're not working on any sort of diplomatic discussions, nothing military going on, etc. etc. There's NO reason to do such a thing. |
