Tim Holtz has a Saturday demo with a question and answer session at the end. He cuts the Q&A from the replay to punish fans who don’t watch it live. Discuss!

I see no problem with it. His live. His Q&A session.

His channel. His Live. His content. His prerogative. Also, all the demos he is doing are FREE. Lord, they are usually 2 to 2.5 hours long before the Q&A part.
Go away Tim Holtz troll. .

i don't know if "punishing" would be the word i would use to describe it. i would consider the Q & A a bonus that's not included with the replay.
i watch many videos on replay and i don't feel "punished" because i can't see more content. i didn't do anything wrong so there is nothing to punish me for. watching live is not mandatory. he can do what he wants to do and as a viewer, i can choose when to watch.

We all miss things because we are not at the right place at the right time. That is life. I miss a lot of stuff that happens during my work hours. No big deal. I'll live.
Are you doing better healthwise? I hope so.

I am just as happy not listening to the Q&A's. In fact, I wish he would edit out of the recorded part all the personal greetings and chit chat at the beginning of his live sessions. I am really only interested in the products &/or techniques.

I would prefer to think of it as rewarding the fans who do watch it live. A lot if life is in how you look at it and how you choose to react to it. Isn’t it? Tim’s live, Tim’s channel, Tim’s choice. Actually he doesn’t *have* to post any replay at all does he? He does because it’s probably good for his business sales. He can even take that replay ( and even the Q&A piece ) and choose to release it with a platform that will monetize it for him similar to patreon or whatever. It’s his content to release ( or not ) how he wants. 🤷♀️ I can choose when to watch ( or to be informed so I can watch lol ) or I can choose not to. 🙄 Invest your time in things, people, businesses that bring you joy. Let the rest go.

Don’t care. I will gladly miss any extra content in order to watch later and avoid the beginning chatter and hellos.

I would wager that it is less a punishment and more because the demo content is planned and while unscripted at least has a path in mind. Q&A's at the end aren't the same and may not be as content forward on replay.
ETA: I don't know if comments are on the replay as I haven't watched any in a while...for many creators that do lives and later publish them, they are not. It could be that because the chat cannot be seen it would be weird. It could also be because he doesn't want to list names of people without explicit consent on something that is posted more permanently than the live feed and gathering that information is tedious, time consuming and not worth the effort.

I don't have FB so I often can't see his stuff. His choice. Makes me less likely to buy - unless someone else shows it on YT - or if it's on sale His choice.

I guess I just don't care. 🤷 Are the questions usually something that is must see YouTube? I probably wouldn't catch the whole thing anyway since they are so long.

So I've actually been watching TH's Saturday lives on replay and the previous week's replay of the demo and Q&A on Distress crayons & glazes included the question portion. I haven't watched last Saturday's demo yet but I pulled it up on YouTube and watched the last two minutes and it cuts off mid sentence. Looking at his Facebook page, there were technology issues where the video disappeared after the Live and they had to figure it out. I'm not sure where the OP got her info, but after looking at Tim's FB page, Instagram and website, I can't find any comment about purposely excluding the Q&A portion, so it sounds more like tech issue than a purposeful exclusion perhaps?

You don't seem to like him very much. Why not just unsubscribe?

For those interested, thenLives are no longer done through Facebook. They are done live on YouTube and replays are left up for others to watch later. He changed platforms a few weeks ago. Several more Saturdays are planned.

Some people aren’t happy unless they’re complaining. This person created their account specifically to harp on Tim Holtz. That's pretty much all they do (at least on this side of the board).

I do care and can't figure out why he wouldn't include the Q&A on any repost to FB or especially YT. If I'm interested enough to watch a long form demo, I'd be interested enough to hear the Q&A. But again, his choice.

I don’t understand why so many creators spend the first 5-10 minutes saying hello to everyone who jumps on - it feels so weird and awkward. I find it annoying. Just get to the project already! That’s why I prefer replays. I can skip all that and speed up the video too.

I can skip all that and speed up the video too. Oh yes! I can't remember the last time I watched a crafting video that wasn't AT LEAST at 1.25 if not 1.5 speed. Another reason I LOVE YT!

It's not a punishment but an incentive to watch live. With different time zones around the globe and work schedules, I'm sure some feel left out. But it's a common marketing strategy when promoting through live streaming. Anyhoo, the return of buttons, folks. It had been a few months since the anti-TH parade came through our neighbourhood. *taps feet to the beat*

Are you doing better healthwise? I hope so. Doing better thank you. Having spent such a long time in hospital I have seen the hours the doctors and nurses work. It’s sad for them to miss out on so much because they are doing good for others. 😢

But again, his choice. It feels very unfair to his fans in other countries, weekend workers, frontline healthcare workers! It’s arrogance and tone deaf for the time we are living through. It is also another way to push his products and make money, on his terms. His choice and he chooses to stick two fingers up to his loyal patrons.

Hmmm, I didn't even notice. I wouldn't read it anyway, so it doesn't affect me. I don't need to listen to all the chit-chat, so I just fast-forward through it. No big deal. I don't feel entitled to anything, and I'm happy when people share. If I find myself getting angry over a free video, I just move along. There are so many choices that I don't have to watch anything that doesn't make me happy.
