9News is not sending any information out yet until it is confirmed. They are saying they are seeing 'stuff' on social media but won't report it.

Heartbroken Buff mom here. Heard from my son and I can’t even fathom those whose lives changed in my an instant because of an angry asshole with a gun.

This is about 5 miles from us (we live in Superior). I was at the dentist with the kids and saw all the cops flying into Boulder. Just scary. Official police conference in 20 minutes. They have not released any information on victims or suspects yet.

DD is a CU student and less than a mile from there. Pretty scary but luckily BIL is a first responder and sending her updates. They believe 6 dead and there’s an active situation at a nearby apartment complex. CU is sending out texts to students. So sad

My brother works at that store in the produce department. It was his day off, so I am pretty sure he is ok, but I haven't gotten confirmation yet. I am so sorry for everyone effected.

The newscasters are really trying to just be patient and wait for the press conference, but this really seems to be taking a while.

They are reporting up to 6 dead including one officer. He shot people in the parking lot before going into the store.

There’s a video on Twitter from a customer walking in (he’s calling 911) before the police arrive, that is so strange. Another customer is walking in, seemingly oblivious to the active shooter situation. There another man coming out, who is walking really slow and doesn’t seem to be concerned at all - he definitely knows what’s going on because he points out a body to the cameraman. I can’t tell if he’s in shock or just an old man who isn’t phased by things. Then you hear gunfire. It’s interesting insight into how people behave in these situations, and how easily you could stumble upon a shooting.
I’m not linking the video because I don’t know how from Twitter, and it’s too graphic for many here.

So awful.
My niece is also in college there. She's ok, thank goodness. My heart goes out to the families of the victims.

Just heartbreaking! One of the good things about the lockdown for the pandemic, we didn't have these happening every week. I'm so sad it's starting again.

I did not listen, but trying to follow local news on Twitter, apparently the Boulder Police Dept isn’t doing itself any favors with a very confusing press briefing. One of DH’s friends normally shops that store on Monday afternoons but went to Safeway today instead. Another of DH’s friends has a daughter at CU and her friends like to sit at the tables outside. But thankfully it is Spring Break. Too close for comfort.

I am so sorry for everyone in the community (I know a number of people there but they seem to all be ok). What an awful day.

They did give the number for people to call if they witnessed it or are questioning if a loved one was involved. Other than that, they can't tell people what they want to hear yet. The questions being asked were good, but obviously many things are not known yet or can't be shared until a later time. One point they tried to convey was that the police department is contacting families first before the info is shared.

@lisadnews
17m Gun violence in Colorado.
Boulder is about 40 minutes away from Aurora. 12 people died in the movie theater shooting there in 2012.
Aurora is about 30 minutes from Littleton. 13 ppl were murdered at Columbine HS there in 1999.
@betoorourke · 1h To the people of Boulder, we are with you.
We are sending you all the strength and love in the world.
To the people of America, we don’t have to live like this. We don’t have to die like this.
It’s our choice.

This could be completely unrelated l, but DH was just at the King Soopers by our house in Arvada where he saw a lot of police activity, and someone face down at gunpoint outside the store. This is about 20 miles south of Boulder

It was confusing because an alert was released for a second location later on the day and it was unclear if it was related or not or what. It is not spring break for CU; it’s cancelled this year due to Covid.
