Good morning, Pokeys! The sun is shining. Birds are singing. Snow almost gone. I may go out later and kick the ball with Kandi. I think she really missed me, even though our normal winter contact is feeding and kenneling and greeting in passing. She leaned against me this morning when I let her out, not rushing off to run as she usually does. And she didn't jump up. Like she thought she should be gentle with me. What are your plans for the weekend? nylene is this the wedding weekend? I am so jealous: would dearly love to be with lots of family at a happy occassion. Oh and you will have glorious photos to scrap! Sorry about the Easter dinner flops. And sorrier (not really sorry) to have giggled, kitbop, reading your story. (Assuming that grandpa is okay) I envisioned the whole sitcom playing out. You NEED to do something with this story for myboysnme's Donna challenge... The best laid plans... nylene, I think we get used to cooking for lots of people on holidays. A stuffed turkey from 18 to 30 pounds takes about 20 minutes per pound. I stuff mine, slather in butter, seal it in foil, put it in the oven and forget until the time is up. When the bird is smaller, the timing is off. And I will bet that all your recipes (even the ones in your head) are for full batches. When you cut the recipe, it's hard to adjust for how the heat will work on it. To put it in perspective MY Easter dinner was the first "meal" I got on a tray. It consisted of clear chicken broth, jello, a couple of different juices, and tea. I had all the ingredients for Easter meals for two, and those ingredients are still in the freezer. Maybe I will do something with them the first weekend in May: dh likes some recognition of "Ukrainian Easter" which is celebrated on the Julian calendar. But then again, maybe not: iNSD is MY national holiday and I won't want to waste it cooking LOL...

Good Monday morning, Pokeys! Hope you are all doing well today. The sun is shining here and the snow is receding quickly. just a bit of it around the edge of the yard under the trees. I am not ready to think about gardening yet. And common sense in this part of the world is to wait until at least the beginning of May before considering putting anything like potatoes or garden seeds into the ground. Whew! I still have time... Planning to go to the next town over tomorrow to run a few errands. Hoping to print my Easter photos and drop of the LAST of the pages for dgs's grad book for copying while I am there. Friday I take dh for his second shot. justjac, I hope you two are back safely from your trip and that your mom is doing well. How was the wedding, nylene? I keep thinking of the last wedding you attended and how sick you were. I hope it was better all round this time. It was good to see you yesterday on the virtual meet, joyfulnana and gramma ans msliz. I decided to add "just a few more things" to my LO this morning, but when the glue dries I will share it. And I have to finish one more bd card to get into the mail tomorrow. Happy Monday, everyone!

grammadee, it's so nice to know that you are home and doing better. I hope your surgeon gets back to you soon. I'm sure having a sunny day makes things look better too. It sounds like you have lots of scrappy stuff to do this week. The wedding was wonderful. It was cold and windy, but got nicer as the day went on. Our Governor lifted the mask mandate Sat. so the venue of the reception set up tables and chairs. The invitation said "a walk through" reception, but the venue wanted to advertise that now people could come there and sit down to a reception. The only ones that congregated together were close family. Others came, wished the couple well, picked up their boxed refreshments and left. Two of my sisters came from Salt Lake and we had a great visit together. I have really missed them. It was nice to know that everyone who gathered around wore masks (except to eat) and had been vaccinated. I am hoping we didn't have a "super spreader" party, but I feel pretty good about it. kellyr21, I love your beautiful explosion box. I haven't seen your video, but will today. You did a beautiful job on the box! It's an errand running day with DH today, so I am off. Waving hello to everyone!

Hey Pokeys. I went away for the weekend for the first time since October. Dean and I went and visited my mom. She and I have had our first vaccination (but it could be up to four months before we get our second.) It was so good to see her. We picked up her new barbecue and took her old one to the dump. We left for home after lunch Sunday when it was looking a little blizzard-y. Fortunately we drove out of the snow after about an hour.
Unfortunately, my brother, his wife, and one of my nieces got COVID. Fortunately, none of them have serious symptoms. I dropped off some treats at their house on the way to my mom's. They found out the week before Easter, which saved Mom from being exposed because they were planning to see her for Easter.
It's so crazy to me that there are only 2.5 months of school left. Time has flown.

Happy Monday! Hope you all are doing well today. I had a nice weekend at the park on Saturday and short drive on Sunday. I am so pooped out today and it is all emotional. So, I am taking it easy and just relaxing today. grammadee, linda- Thanks for the cheers for my box. It did turn out cute. I was thinking of sending it to a loved one but now I want to keep it. LOL! grammadee, glad you are feeling better! Sending you a hug and my continued prayers. nylene- What a creative wedding! So glad you were able to go and have fun with your family. justjac- Wow, sorry to hear your family got the virus but glad they are ok and your mom is ok. Boy, what a traumatic season this has been for us all! I can't wait to get past this crazy time. Take it easy, too my friend!

((((Hugs))) so...you might have seen this layout I posted recently we took not-our-cat to the vet this morning. He is a girl (surprise), a senior kitty (10+ years old), and healthy. justjac , I am sorry your family contracted the virus. I am glad your mother was not exposed. What fun to be with you mom again. Missing family has been a real hardship during this Pandemic. kellyr21 , your explosion box is simply amazing. You have so many cute little touches, things I would never think of. If I make one, I am going to have your video pulled up as I work on it. Thank you for sharing all the details. I hope you will take it easy. You have been a busy little bee with your projects and videos. Be kind to yourself as you get back into life. Linda, what a sweet little kitty. I hope she settles comfortably with you. Looks like your dd already has claim on her. BTW, I love your daughter's curls! grammadee, I hope you are continuing to feel better.

grammadee - she's been a stray in the subdivision since at least mid-January according to NextDoor. No micro-chip but has definitely been a well-loved pet at some point as she's super affectionate - she would curl up on DD's lap outside. nylene - yes, DD14 has claimed her. She's the cat lover around here - all of the current cats( back to 5 now) and 3 of the ones that have passed away were all strays she found (ok - one was pregnant with 4 kittens)

Your dd sounds like a sweetheart, Linda . My dd used to tame kittens all the time. We had a stray mama move into the loft of our barn, and dd went every day to coax the kittens out and give them some food. While they were lapping it up, she would stroke them and talk to them. One day there was a new kitty in the barn, and she was just about to start petting it when our small dog burst onto the scene barking. The kittens scattered, and the new one--black and white--turned and SPRAYED the dog. That furry guest was actually a SKUNK! Dd did not get hit with the spray, but the poor dog had to endure many baths before she could hang out in the house again
I picked up the mail yesterday and there were THREE scrappy packages. The SSS card kit arrived with its mushroom house die to go with my growing family of gnome dies. The latest {Not} Just for Boys kit arrived. Loving all the blues and greens and yellows in this one. And the Concord &9th happy birthday dies came as well. I had just dropped my 3 April bd cards into the mailbox, so will have to wait a bit to try that one out. (Could have used that SSS house on one of those cards, too, but there will be other opportunities.
Also printed some photos yesterday, so I hope to put together a couple of Easter themed pages over the next couple of days.
So far, here is my one LO and three cards from the past few days...

grammadee, I can't believe your skunk story. Lucky DD to be out of the way. That skunk must have been watching where it sprayed. I love that layout. That title is just perfect. I left you some love in the gallery. You are really rocking those slimline cards. I need to try a few of those. We have high wind warnings today. The sky has an ugly greenish tint to it. I'm afraid this one will be a big one. They have closed the freeway to semis because they are so easily blown over in this force wind. I really don't like wind! I have grocery shopping that needs to be done, but I hate to go out in it. Winds just north of us were 75 mph last night. Can you tell I don't like wind? I am working on Ashley's wedding photos. I need to do those before I get Kayla's wedding photos and need to start scrapping them. Have a great day, everyone.

Good Thursday morning, Pokeys! How are you all this morning? nylene, your wedding pages are going to be gorgeous, whichever wedding you decide to take on first. justjac, I am glad you were not treated to a full Saskatchewan blizzard for your trip back. Bet your mom was really happy to have you there, even for a couple of days. Dh decided to drive himself to get his second Pfizer shot, so I have the house to myself this morning. I have last Saturday's sketch printed and photos gathered for another Easter LO: this one for my album. Couldn't decide which colour to use for my background, so I grabbed some VB foundations cs and some TH oxide inks to make a multicoloured one. Now it has to dry. Have a wonderful day, Ladies!

grammadee, I can't wait to see your background. I love what you did with the inks on your slimline card. Beautiful colors together. We woke up to snow this morning so DH stayed home from work. We bought a doorbell extender (on one of our many Home Depot trips)so that he can hear the doorbell in his end of the house. Our computers are on opposite ends and mine is closest to the doorbell chime. It's hard for me to maneuver stairs to answer the door. It took an hour to hook the thing up and get it to work. First the extender worked but not the old doorbell, then the doorbell worked but not the extender. Of course DH is standing on a ladder to reach the box this whole time. Finally we got it working. Now we need someone to come ring it so we can enjoy it. It's usually someone at the door who needs a board cut, or advise on some project. Now he can answer the door. I'm trying to get some cleaning done today. I'll be back later.

Waving hi to everyone! I've been really tired having worked last weekend and having to work OT a couple of days this week, so I haven't had a chance to be chatty. I have gotten into my scrapspace where I can relax and veg. grammadee - yay on happy mail! I got my first SCT sampler and it's cute, although we'll see how well I use it. I'm also now waiting for a big scrappy package that used up my Christmas GCs. nylene, sounds like that doorbell extender is really needed and I'm glad no one got hurt installing it I *hate* wind too! Your card is absolutely precious and looks really professional. All your cards do! Linda - we have 4 cats and that is more than enough thank you! My dd plans to be a "crazy cat lady". I'm going to try to finish my sample for this week's Sketchy Saturday - it's got a good start, but my brain feels weary. I might not get it posted until Saturday morning even tho I like to get them up on Friday.

hello everyone. Finally getting a chance to scrap tonight and am working on DS's album - posted 3 layouts. Silver has settled in nicely. kitbop - we had 8 at one point and while we loved them all, that was a LOT of cats. We were down to 4 (all seniors - 11-17) and I thought that was enough. But apparently not, lol. Sorry yopu've been working so hard - looking forward to your sketch! nylene - that is a gorgeous card! Wow! I'm glad that the doorbell extender works. I hope that all is well despite the ominous sky. @grmmadee - looking forward to seeing your latest creation! Hope your DH feels okay post-shot. I had my second Moderna on Tuesday and I was wiped out yesterday.

Happy Friday! Today was a calming day and I hope it continues into the weekend. Also, I hope today was a good day for you all, too. Next week will be our 10th business anniversary. So this weekend Ron and I will make a special video about it. We are also looking to really get some things moving this year. nylene- Did you say SNOW? OMG, that is crazy! Doesn't Mother Nature know it is April and Springtime? LOL! I hope the weekend warms up in your area. Can't wait to see some of your wedding pics. I know your dgd looked beautiful! That card is just adorable! So sweet and well made. grammadee- Your cards and pages look terrific! I am glad to see ya back at it. Waving hi to everyone and have a good weekend!

Linda and kitbop, sounds like you both have girls who are cat lovers. The cats are lucky to have such loving homes. It has warmed up a little, but we still have crazy wild winds. The snow has melted, but it doesn't feel anything like Spring yet. Those are the days I enjoy being inside all day. Tomorrow is my DGD's baby shower. Her mother (my DD) has had a wedding of younger DD, now a shower for older DD, her first grandbaby will arrive early next week and the following week she'll be attending the new mother's college graduation. This has been a crazy time for the family, but they are all so excited about the changes. kellyr21, congrats on the 10th Anniversary of your business. I loved the video you did with Ron, so I look forward to another one. That will be fun. The Online Crop tomorrow is the same time as the shower so I can't make it. Sunday's time is during our church services. I hope the next weekend works for me. I have missed them. Have a great weekend, eveyone.

kellyr21 - glad you had a calming day - prayers that it continues for you. Congratulations on the 10 year business anniversary - that's awesome especially considering how few small businesses make it to five years! nylene - my sister in CT had snow this week too. Hopefully your winds die down soon. Exciting times for your family - congratulations all around. No online crop for me either. Today we have Confirmation practise and I need to clean the house and weather permitting, work in the yard. Tomorrow is DD14's Confirmation and we'll have a small celebration here at the house - just the four of us plus DS will join virtually. I feel badly she's not having an actual party - we don't do much in the line of birthday parties but we do celebrate the religious milestones (baptism, first communion, and confirmation) with parties but with Covid, that just can't happen.

nylene, it sounds like a busy weekend ahead of you. But also a very happy busy. Enjoy it! kitbop, you have had a busy week. Will you get some down time this weekend? You have been creating some really great pages this month. Looking forward to checking out today's sketch. Linda, congrats to your dd for reaching this milestone. I hope that she enjoys every minute of it. I am sure you will come up with a special way to recognize her achievement. Has the church done anything differently for this ceremony? Maybe some outdoor events that might help to make it special for her? Yesterday I picked up another batch of copies to go into dgs's book, and in the evening, I worked on getting his pages into page protectors. About 3/4 done, I think. Crafting is going really slowly for me lately. I have another 2 pager on the go, since Thursday, and hoping to get at least one of the pages done today. I will prob not be on line this evening, but hoping to join joyfulnana and gramma and the rest tomorrow. Maybe by then I will have located my MOJO. Think it is hiding in here somewhere under the piles of papers? Have a great weekend!

Hello! Just popping in to catch up with everyone. The past week has been busy and brutal. I have been fried and not felt too chatty lately. I'm not even going to jinx next week by talking about it lol. I had scrappy online day with my mom and niece and popped in for a short time to tonight's crop. And I'll be there tomorrow for gramma's debut as host I'm so glad the wedding went well and you had a good time nylene. grammadee I'm glad you're home and I really hope they get you scheduled for surgery soon. I got my prize kit today and it's so pretty! Lots of Bo Bunny Tuxedo's and Tiaras and it even included a wink of stella pen. I'm looking forward to playing with it. I hope everyone is having a good weekend!

grammadee - you've been busy. Your grandchildren are so lucky to have you! I bet they love your scrapbooks. Copying the pages for their own special album is awesome! dd14'S Confirmation - Mass will be socially distanced and everyone will be wearing masks. There's a small reception afterwards with cake - hoping that will also be socially distanced. Her teacher, like many around here, aren't especially sold on Covid precautions unfortunately. Tomorrow will be our first in-person Mass since early March 2020 - we've been watching the livestreamed Mass instead. joyfulnana - I hope next week is easier. That prize kit sounds lovely - enjoy! here is Silver who spent quite a while on my lap today while I was on the computer - she just purred away. Not a very creative day today - we had Confirmation rehearsal and then DH bought me a treadle sewing machine in a cabinet and I spent way too much time reading about it online (it's a Jones Family CS - c. 1927, made in England). I'll need a few parts (needles and a slide cover - and I've found a place to buy them) but otherwise it's in working order. I've wanted a treadle machine for ages.

I had my pug, Phoebe, at the park the other day. While we were just enjoying the park, I noticed she had a bump on her bum. Of course, it was after 5pm so I called the vet the very next day. I got an appointment in the afternoon before I had to be at work. I was thinking she had an impacted anal gland. My vet was able to express her anal glands with no problem. He said that it is a tumor and it could be benign or an adenocarcinoma. She had lab work done that day and she is scheduled for surgery on April 29th. It makes me nervous because she just turned 13 last month but she is healthy otherwise plus her lab work was all in normal limits. I hate that our pets have to get older. grammadee, I am glad you are home and feeling better! I hope that continues. nylene, that is such a beautiful card! kellyr21, I love your explosion box. Those are fun to look at! I have been having a bit of drama in regards to my siding and garage door installation. I hope to get that figured out tomorrow. I have emailed my dad to see if he has any advice for me. They are telling me since I can’t prove my garage door was installed after 1978 because of possible lead, I have to figure out how to uninstall it before they will install my new door. I keep getting the run around. Then I found out about Phoebe’s surgery and I just decided to just wait. I was exhausted of everything that happened this last week. I hope everyone is doing good!

Oh knutschen! So much stress for one week! (((((HUGS))))) I hope your pug comes through the surgery and continues to bring you joy. It seems to me that different contractors seem to be like elementary school kids sometimes. Nothing is "our" job: we can't do anything until "they" do something else... Grrr... joyfulnana, I am interested to see what you do with that kit. I have it too, but have no idea what to do with it. Maybe will work for dgs's grad page? Which reminds me to ask if he has had any school photos done this year, since he is enrolled in completely on line learning for his last year of high school. Silver looks right at home, Linda. Hope the in person Mass and the following festivities go well for you and your dd. nylene, enjoy the baby shower. Will this little guy be a brother or a cousin for Swayzie?

knutschen, I am sorry your Phoebe is going to need surgery. I'm sure that adds a lot of worry and stress to you this week. I hope you can get your garage door taken care of. I'm sorry you have run into that situation. How is work going? How are the Covid numbers in your area. joyfulnana, I'm sorry you have had a rough week. I hope this weekend has given you some time to unwind and relax. Congratulations on your prize. It sounds like some pretty papers and do dads to enjoy. I am hoping to be on the Online Crop next Sat. Linda, I hope everything goes well for your Confirmation next week. How nice to be able to attend an in-person Mass. I miss the interaction of members at Church but am glad it can be done on Zoom. Did you finish the dress? Looks like Silver is very comfortable already. grammadee, I keep hoping I will see that you have a date with the surgeon!! BTW, Swayzee and Boy Baby will be 2nd cousins. Their parents are cousins, grandparents are brother and sister (our son and daughter). We are hoping for a redhead since his daddy is red and his mom has a redhead sibling. I guess we will wait until next week to see. The baby shower was really nice. We had masks and social distancing, but had a chance to sit around and reminisce about the mother-to-be as a little girl. She was such a joy. I know she'll be a great mom. I have had a bunch of family birthdays and hurried to make the cards and get them in the mail, but didn't think to take a photo until they were mailed. I need to start earlier so I don't have to rush to the mail! Story of my life; I'm always behind. My DD told me at the shower that my girls thought they ought to engrave "if only I had another day" on my headstone, since they have heard that from me their whole lives. LOL

nylene, it seems our Covid numbers are at my hospital are staying down. When I looked the other day, it was under 20. Much better than a few months ago when we had over 100! Our census in the last week has been lower than we are used to. I was training a nurse to charge the other night and hardly anything happened! Such an unusual night. I hope our Covid numbers keep staying down. I consulted my Dad about my garage door issue. He gave me some things to think about and to also look at the contract I signed to see if they mentioned lead. I hope to look all that over and email them with a nice but firm email using what I signed in the contract.
